The ice forms with a speed, and has durability, equal to Rei's Zanjutsu

» Supporting Material: In Reis fight with Srath she was pushed to the edge of her life, but in the fight her Shikai determined her worthy of learning its name. The reason was mainly because even though Rei was getting beaten down she kept getting back up to continue towards her goal of stalling long enough for a higher ranked shinigami to show up. After this Hisana showed up, and saved Rei from an early death.

[mod]Given the lack of material or meaningful reasoning for this to have been achieved present in the material given, i'm going to have to deny this.
You can use this thread as a step towards it, but the events of the thread do not indicate a reasonable acquisition of this state at all. Shikai is achieved through the harmonization with and the learning of the spirit's name, which requires speaking to the spirit within it's world. None of that occurred here - being pushed to near death isn't going to net you a Shikai. There isn't anything that i've found that indicates Rei has even been working toward acquiring it either.

Just write a thread with Rei exploring this and we can revisit, but for now it's gonna be a no.[/mod]
