Re: Letting Off Some Steam (Ranma, Armina)

ARMINA WILLSAAM
The 4th Seat was nothing if not relentless and kept chugging along after the fleeing giant, her anger pushing her forwards and pride preventing her from stopping. Her speed was infuriating but that was how it was and so the best that she could accomplish was to just force herself onwards. She mused that in a marathon, she’d probably not be so bad but sprinting was something that she sucked at. The Shinigami could still detect Ranma’s aura in front of her, which was enough for her to know that at least she was still heading in the right direction.
As time passed, she could begin to see the enormous figure before her, clearly still running for his life but apparently starting to struggle. That was good and the annoyed woman continued to push, injecting as much energy as she could into her muscles. To keep herself motivated, Armina would entertain herself with images of what she was going to do with both Asshat and Ranma, pictures filled with blood and gore. She was beyond the point of simply letting things go and sought a more violent resolution. The fact that the latter was a fellow Shinigami didn’t mean a damn thing to her anymore. He was an enemy of hers and there was only one method of handling that.
She was going to have to use Shunpo again. A fact that soon enough seeped into her mind. It wasn’t a pleasant thought and Armina was irritated with herself that she had been forced to use it so many times. What was next? A kido spell?
Sighing bitterly, she’d then focus her spiritual energy into herself and briefly disappear, closing the gap considerably, allowing her to almost be in reach of her quarry. Her eyes and hammer both screamed for blood and any sign of weakness from the giant would be more than leapt upon. Her own stamina, however, wasn’t great either and things would soon come to a head, one way or another.

RANMA GEKIRETSU
She just caught up to them in a flash! Wait, she used Shunpo again – did she… did she get better at it all of a sudden? He could’ve sworn she didn’t cross that far a range last time she used it… and she didn’t look like the type of sophisticated Shinigami who’d hold back, have a feel of their opponent’s strength and then release whatever amount of spiritual power was needed to deal with them.
She was more like the type who didn’t know how to hold back, right?
Either way, the Arhat guy was crossing the river faultily, now susceptible to a flash-freeze of their terrain by Armina’s Zanpakutō. The river was strong, pulling on even the giant’s legs, but the Arhat man giant entity just forced himself through with Ranma in his hand, the latter panicking in all sorts of fashions. “WAIT, WAIT, WAIT! WATER, ICE, NO GOOD COMBINATIONS FROM THOSE TWO!!!” His Zanpakutō was unsheathed and prepared, but…
Now…
Would Armina pull a big brain move and freeze the river from the safety of the dry bank? Or would she want to get up close and personal, smashing their skulls in while they were slowed by the large river?

ARMINA WILLSAAM
Armina knew that Asshat wasn’t all that bright but it seemed that he was even more stupid than she’d thought. There he was, fighting against the current of the river, in order to try and escape her wrath. He knew that she used ice and still decided that the best action to take was to run full blooded into the depths. A blue eyebrow rose as she watched the situation, in utter disbelief at what she was watching take place before her. Perhaps his fear was simply overriding whatever sense he had? Whatever it was, there would be a price to pay for his folly and as she came to a stop beside the edge of the river, she went for her hammer.
Drawing her weapon, she’d summon a single icy chain from its head, before mentally directing the creation towards the river. The frigid cold wouldn’t instantly freeze the river but it wouldn’t take all that long, the ice spreading across the water quickly. She could tell that the monstrosity was already slowing down and with any luck, her little trick would aid her with slowing him down further. He could become a frozen statue in the water for all she cared and Ranma along with him.
That being said, she wasn’t prepared to simply wait for his choice and soon enough began to move across the ice, continuing her pursuit of the two males. Be it by the river or her hammer, they’d face their end soon.

RANMA GEKIRETSU
Oh dear… oh no no no, oh no no no no no- SHE STOPPED AND THOUGHT FOR A SECOND! COGNITIVE ACTION FROM HER?!
Ranma and co. were fucked.
She used her Zanpakutō to gradually solidify the water, which spread out as manifesting sheets of ice across the river. Directed towards them, the sheets would provide Armina foothold for her chase. Should he fight her again? Noooooo? It was fairly one-sided last time, and reverting back to his ‘Retsu’ mentality was such a dumb idea – fighting without thinking meant he got himself so much more injured than he needed to. Just look at him!
Nay, they had to escape, somehow… but his Zanpakutō could only do so much- he never thought he would think that, though. Slow her down, Hōkamaru! Right? It wasn’t like they didn’t have time enough to escape with a slowed down Arhat, half-frozen giant body and the force of the river to keep them at bay before the sword’s ability- oh…
Ranma’s Zanpakutō emitted a huge, bluish saturation that manifested as a sphere around him, Arhat and a 50-meter radius from his Zanpakutō. Within that space, one would feel the forceful slowdown of all mobile, mechanical movements – as if time itself slowed you down…
Ranma used the sphere to buy some time – he grabbed Hōkamaru by his teeth and held out both palms, slamming them onto Arhat’s hand. “Bakudō #21, Sekienton!” To his luck, while Sekienton wasn’t a very ‘defensive’ Kidō spell, Ranma had an inkling that it’d come in handy for a time like this – Arhat’s entire form was suddenly engulfed in a blasting cloud of red smoke, right when Hōkamaru’s sphere would cease.
… But Ranma’s Spiritual Pressure had disappeared completely. Should Armina enter the smoke or blow it away, neither Ranma nor Arhat would be found.
