Peace... That was what the Gotei fought for, what it strived for. Peace was what most trained for, to try and protect against any and all challengers. But not the Fourth Division of the Gotei United... Not Shura Kurata, First Born of the Kurata. She trained for combat, she trained for challengers, she trained to kill. She anticipated an attack, there had already been one by the Arrancarr's before, and now she knew its purpose. To scout. To determine their numbers and strength, and if they had been found wanting... to report back and return with force enough to crush the defenders.

Just as she thought, that was precisely what happened now, an army seemingly unsurmountable launched its attack, with Arrancarr that numbered many and power that scaled to that of the current reigning Captain's. For this Kurata however, their power mattered naught, she cared naught. All it meant, was another body to add to her pile. Unlike the rest of those around her, she held her ground as the rest charged forth, smashing into the oncoming force like a tsunami hellbent on eradicating an entire civilization, even her Zanpakuto remained in its sheath. Until he appeared.

The rest stood staring at the 'angel' that descended, that sought to mock the One True God, The Soul King. This was when her hand grasped the hilt of Hakaishin, this was when it began to be pulled from its sheath. She knew better than to expect this things help, they had no such individual counted amongst their ranks. This was only further proven when its attack was launched, causing Shura to shield her eyes as the attack was unleashed and when at last the damage could be looked upon she was proven correct.

She may have been silent to this point in voice, but now her silence was broken as her Reiatsu was released, erupting from her in a torrential uprise of strength and power, of challenge to this individual.

Heaven's Light [Africatastrophe Act II] XdCwMT9

There would be no question as to who was releasing their Bankai, there would be no question as to why she was releasing it. While she had used it within training, it was always with someone who was stronger than her. Always. And as her Reiatsu swirled around her before erupting away in a blasting shockwave, the twin-chained axes came flying forward along with their wielder, if one were to hold back now... they deserved death. This was no mere battle. This was WAR!

Heaven's Light [Africatastrophe Act II] HEADERO_FtIHro4agAATQ8q

Blinding.

The sudden burning light that erupted was enough for Lerna to turn her Reikaku in that direction. Well this was a shit situation. She'd already felt the sudden explosive bursts of reiryoku around and all of them seemed absurdly strong. To think that she would have gone from being just another bitch in some Gang to on the front lines of a war. Not only that, but she winced as she noticed one of the other officers charging in. Shit. She'd hoped that it would be a Captain or a Lieutenant. The sheer strength coming off of this monster was enough to give pause, but it seemed that the Fourth Division was plenty bold enough to charge right in.

A Bankai right off the bat. Her brows raised ever so slightly as she rose up from her spot crouched down on the ground, as she felt the heart in her gigai's chest racing. The loud, hissing crackle of stone being sucked from the ground and coating her body. Turning her skin into a layer of stone reinforced with reishi and her own spiritual energy. She didn't have any fancy bankai. In all honesty, she was probably going to be next to useless. But it was a little late for regrets.

Not when she could feel her Zanpaku'to pulsing in her grip. The slow coil of it's reiryoku crawling up the length of her arm and seemingly coiling around her body. And she felt ......a familiar sensation as she shaded her eyes to peer up toward the 'Angel' above the battlefield. Seeing those pretty wings. That strange armor. She felt the lingering pangs of an acho she'd long forgotten the sound of.

Devour.
Rip.
Crush.

Intrusive thoughts harried her, about the sight of this pompous little angel twisting and thrashing within the slow, squeezing confined of dark coils. The snap of bones breaking over and over, trying to regenerate while bent out of place.

Thoughts that were pushed aside as she shot forward, her eyes squinted shut, relying on her Reikaku as that burning light blared above. she crouched down, bunching up the muscles in her legs before the ground promptly shattered as she kicked off, launching herself through the air like a blonde bullet as she quickly rose straight up, pumping her spirit energy to rise up even higher than the hollow that seemed intent on lording over the rest of the battlefield. And in her hand was not her Zanpaku'to. But a lamppost she'd ripped clean out of the ground,. The hot, screech of her roots digging into it sounded as she shaved away the metal with her Mod root. Eating away at the metal and fusing it with the stone and spirit energy that coated her body, whilst also whittling the lamppost down into a narrow spear. One that she cocked back as spirit energy coursed through her frame.

"Hadō Number Fourty Five. Tsuzuri Hyōga. 綴氷河."

Ice crawled along the length of the spear, binding to the length of metal before Lerna promptly let loose. Throwing the spear with a sudden burst of hakuda. Briefly, her body reached a speed well above her already impressive capabilities, and that Slim length of icy metal became a shrieking missile. The air screaming as that sliver of metal shot straight for Metatron. The Kido Spell designed similar to it's cousin Tsuzuri Raiden, in that it bound an element to an object. But rather than sending volts of electricity through it's length, that spear would aim to pierce the hollow and inject a burst of ice through the body.

Normally Lerna was a much more up-front fighter.
But well, she wasn't stupid enough to zip in and get between Miss Shura and her target when she was in Bankai.

Good, she'd caught the creature's attention. Such was evident by its sight turning towards them, and more evident now was it that this was no Arrancarr... But a mere Hollow, its fully intact mask was evidence enough for her to know this much. Moreso than that its first attack was aimed not towards her, but another with strength enough to consider challenging the creature. Shura had no time to turn around and see who it was, but knowing who her ally was in this instance didn't just matter little to her, it didn't matter at all.

He began to once more spout nonsense, claiming to be able to cleanse with the power of an Angel, a savage mockery of all that was truly holy and sanctified by the only true Gods on this battlefield. Shinigami. However it wasn't only aiming to attack her ally, but also Shura herself with what could only be described as the full might of this creature. As the Cero hurtled towards her, Shura pivoted her body to the left, causing her to begin practically sliding mere inches away from the edge of the Cero. One blade slightly caught within the blast yet this was on purpose, as mighty as its Cero was... Her Bankai was mightier. Speaking of mighty bankai's, as she slid alongside the powerful Cero she could feel yet more energy being released... yet not within her immediate vicinity, and not energy she didn't recognize. Neigh she recognized it instantly, and there could be not a single mistake as to who it was; Nagoshi Kanae, Captain of the Fourth, had unleashed her full might.

But she could not let this moment distract her, For she knew the consequences if she left it within the beam too long however, a broken Bankai could not be repaired. So with the other blade she smashed it against the side of the Cero, pushing her away from it and spinning before the second blade was sent hurtling towards Metatron as she neared him, aimed squarely at his chest. However just as it would near the Hollow, a mighty and loud roar of the apex predator of the natural world, the Lion, resounded outwards from her position following shortly by Shura herself vanishing from sight only to appear directly behind the hollow with the utterance of a singular word... a word even a supposed 'angel' would understand the full intent of by mere name alone.

Heaven's Light [Africatastrophe Act II] C3O3CUs

Her words were followed by a single attack, much faster than a standard attack, raking the axe still in hand down towards the top of the creatures head, aiming to cleave the hollow mask in twain, and end this fight in a singular stroke.

Lenra narrowed her eyes. A soft TCH as she watched her attack simply consumed by the light of a Cero. That spear SLAMMED into the incoming flames. even WITH her spell around it, the shell of ice melted away, leaving a thin sliver of metal to slam into the hollow. Perhaps harmlessly with how much it was all burnt up. But all the same, as those flames coursed toward her, she was startled by the speed with which they surged toward her. Her body blurred, a shunpo used to DART to the side, avoiding the surge of flames easily thanks only to the sheer distance between her and her target. That was STRONG! Not only that but the sight of that Cero Oscuras had her heart pumping and her eyes going wide. This was a damn STRONG Hollow! And that inner urge inside of her chest all but ached. This wasn't just a strong opponent, this creature would have been worth her attention back when she was whole. A slow, creeping ripple of gold creeping along her body, pumping more of her reiryoku into her skin, causing it to turn bright and scaly in patches along her neck and her front. Adding extra protection along her central mass as well as the very tips of her fingers, the hardened skin slowly curving into claws.

She couldn't afford to stay idle. As Metatron turned his attention to Shura, it was Lerna's turn to charge in. Another shunpo was used, a flashing grin on her face as she sighted Shura's attack. Her instincts kicked in and she put ona n extra BURST of speed. Anticipating another Cero from the creature. She waited until that weapon was almost upon the beast before she shot in. Appearing just above the hollow. Out of the trajectory of Shura's thrown weapon, a clawed hand already cocked back as she LUNGED down and aimed to bury that clawed hand into the creature's shoulder, a flashing grin spread across her face as she addressed the creature.

"Well aren't you a little guy. Know how to use those muscles too, or is shiny lights all you're good at?" She taunted.

Shura's eyes narrowed, though not because her attack was blocked... But because this thing continued acting high and mighty! However her eyes opened rather quickly as she felt the energy well within the blade, causing her to almost immediately use her Shunpo to move directly away as the wave erupted from the blade itself. This didn't render her unscathed however, and burn marks across her face and the burned sleeves of her Shihakosho and arms made that evident.

"That... That attack..." She thought to herself, before noticing that her ally was still within point blank range! Her arm reached forth, grasping the chain that connected the two axes and whipping it to the left, causing the chain to snap the axe that had been first blocked back into a secondary side sweep towards the hollow. It was, admittedly, more of an attempt to give Lerna a chance to escape rather than do any meaningful damage at the moment.

This... however... was not what made Shura's thought process kick into overdrive... No it was the proximity of those six orbs. She knew she could survive the blast, she hoped her ally could... but she knew neither could escape the blast radius before they were set off. As she yanked on the chain once more, this time to recall the blade she knew she had to think quickly about her next move. "Take your Will and shove it up your ass!" Shura cried out. She didn't want to do this... She really REALLY didn't want too. But there were few around that would notice such a quick casting... Only the hollow and Lerna.

She had the chance while he was stationary and concentrated, and so words she never thought would leave her lips, words she'd never speak aloud near most anyone...

Seal the void before me, Bakudo #81, Danku.

An unknown to most even within the Gotei, Shura had always despised Kido... thought it was for those who could not hold their own... maybe she was still right about that. However she knew that such an attack, if it hit her, would be devastating. However behind her protective shield she wasn't stationary. She'd already revealed her first kido.

"By celestial might, eight voids of twilight enclose, with the ninth abyss to bind thy soul, Bakudo #79, Kuyō Shibari!"

As she finished the spell casting, eight black holes would begin appearing around Metatron, before a ninth one would form and finish the entrapment, aiming to paralyze and hold the hollow in place.

It was tough. Tch. She should have imagined as much. Even sharpening her claws with her Mod Root, she wasn't able to leave a damn dent on this THING as it tanked the strike to it's shoulder. Tch. But it was the sudden grab that caught her off guard. Eyes wide as that insane speed caught her by surprise as that hand CLAMPED down on her wrist! There was an instant in which she endured. Those fingers TUGGED and she let out a hissing GRUNT as her hardened form managed to avoid being instantly pried off and crushed! Cracks slithering along her wrist as blood SPURTED all over the hollow's face and shoulder!

But she didn't say a word. Her mouth was full.

Narrowing her eyes she SPAT, spraying a mouthfull of caustic fluids over the creature's shoulder, and if it landed, would HISS as it would start trying to eat its way through that tough armor! Or at the very least soften it up and chew away at them as Shura's weapon swung in and aimed to slam into the creature. It was then that Lerna made her move, and SWUNG. Aiming to ram her shin into the creature's head. She doubted it would do much damage, to the mask or even move it's head much. But it was just meant to try and disorient the creature as the hardened flesh that Metatron had been slowly crushing promptly slid. Sloughing her skin off, her own fleshy muscle exposed to the open air as she pried her arm free, shedding her skin and a few deeper tissu elayers in order to DART toward Shura! Just in time for that Danku to go off followed by those six cero ROCKING the area! Even WITH the barrier in place, the sheer concussive wave of air rushing through thee space was enough that it almost blew out Lerna's ears.

She allowed herself to fall, covered in smoke as she tumbled down to the ground below, feigning injury as she then CRASHED through a ruined building, busting through the ceiling and landing on an office desk with a CRASH, huffing as she went clean through another floor only to finally smash into a desk, cracking it, but not going all the way through it at least. A soft hiss escaping her as she peeled herself off as the sounds of the battle continued up through the hole she'd come in from. Her spiritual pressure suppressed. She glanced at her de-fleshed arm and let out a soft Tch. Skin rapidly crawling back up the length of her arm as she repaired her gigai. But it would take a second for her to reform the protective layer that had saved her arm from just instantly being pasted on the spot. Still....fuck this thing was strong.

Stop playing around.
She looked over her shoulder and flinched at the sight of her Zanpaku'to spirit. Those massive glowing yellow eyes surrounding her.
You shouldn't be afraid. You should be excited. Those eight voices crooned into her ears and she narrowed her eyes as she let her hand clasp the handle of her Zanpaku'to, peeling it from it's sheathe. She had to get back out there. Shura wasn't going to be able to handle that thing on her own. But it was a problem fighting that thing in the sky. She paused, and let out a slow, shaky breath. Hesitating the slightest bit. Trying to ignore what had been bothering her for some time now. That FEELING that had been slowly growing inside of her ever since she's started using her Zanpaku'to.

But she had to ignore that for now. Running her tongue along the blade, and licking up the Sake that bled from it's length.

"Let's have a drink. Sōteiken"
