Magus Empress [Kikoto, Hannah]

Kikoto fell silent, his shoe scraped quietly against the wood as he idly kicked his foot. He knew that his spell wouldn't detonate in his face -- or, at least, he wanted to believe that. He was a bit annoyed at how much she danced around the issue with fancy words, instead of just saying what she wanted. Even still, he didn't really know what to say.

She was right -- probably, at least. She was stronger and knew more about Kido than him, after all. But, it wasn't going to stop him. He wasn't stupid -- he knew better than to just start messing with and modifying things beyond his capabilities. He'd figure it out, and even if it did go wrong sometimes, he'd take precautions to make sure he didn't kill himself while testing.

"I'm not gonna kill myself with it, I'm not stupid."

"That's exactly why you are going to kill yourself with it" Hannah would reply. "The more intelligent the person, the more they tend to coast on said intelligence and rely on the fact that they know what they are doing. Because you are smart and know what you are doing, there is no way you'd make such a dumb mistake as that. It happens to a lot of people, so it's not just you"

She'd flick her finger and blow the chalk off the board to clean it. And then look back to Kikoto.

"Just, whatever you have planned as safety precautions, do twice as much of that. Always beat your own head in what is 'enough' because more than enough will always beat less than enough"

He wasn't going to compare himself to Urahara when it came to intelligence, but, he had spent a lot of time thinking about this. He knew that he needed to be careful with it and take note of whatever he could. He knew that he could and likely was going to make mistakes. But, he couldn't confirm or deny this theory of his without the potential of those mistakes existing.

He knew that the more he tried to tamper with spells like this, the more he was risking. But, he would take Hannah's advice to heart -- double the protective efforts, do more than necessary when it came to the high risks. He didn't intend to try and go beyond his station, intentionally blow himself up or anything like that, but, he knew that he had to make sure he was at least ready for things to go wrong, because they always did.

"...I will. Thank you, Miss Chiza. I'm...sorry I snapped at you."

He wanted to continue, but, he held his tongue, instead changing the subject.

"Is it alright if I keep coming to you for more general lessons, and to give you updates on the testing?"

"You're welcome. And don't worry about snapping, Excursions into The Unknown get passionate, and passion burns hot. What kind of teacher would I be if I couldn't handle that properly and constructively?" Hannah would ask, sorting her braile papers and then looking back to Kikoto.

"You are always welcome in my class, dear. Don't worry yourself about that. Just don't break the law in your attempts. It can be tempting sometimes, but not worth the hassle. Make sure to get explicit permission from Captain Kuchiki before leaning into Forbidden Kido"

Kikoto's face lit up with a smile at her response. He was mostly just glad he hadn't accidentally, permanently, soured relations with a teacher so quickly. So, hearing that was of far more relief to him than it likely would have been for most others. Nevertheless, he nodded in response, but just as he was turning around, he caught what she said next.

The mention of Forbidden Kido had made him take pause, the smile on his face fading for a moment. While he had been excited to try and exercise his theory in practice, he had already made sure to keep it in mind never to attempt that with Forbidden Kido -- not just because of the legal ramifications, but because of the far more potentially damning repercussions, should anything go wrong.

He knew that Forbidden Kido had the power to manipulate time, space, and some spells even resulted in sacrificing the body. While he was brash, sometimes hot-headed, and proud, there were some things even he knew not to touch. So, as he began to take his leave, he made sure to respond once more.

"R-Right. Thanks, Miss Chiza."

The air grew heavy for a moment, and then Hannah would pat Kikoto's head, and stroke his hair a little. And then the air let off again, returning to the gentle pressure of before.

"Good boy. The world is beautiful if you take care of yourself and follow the rules. So don't get into trouble, it will be sad to see you in the infirmary" Hannah would reply, giving him a nod, and leaving to head in that exact direction to lend her aid.
