Re: Welcome Wagon [Toki, Yuri]

Yuri quirked a brow slightly at that and chuckled lightly as he gave his response, as well as his imaginings about his position effecting his day one. A genuine laugh. Shaking her head a bit, she folded her hands on the desk. "This isn't Combat division. Sure, you scored higher, and have shown proficiency enough to be afforded a seated position out the gate. But that doesn't mean we're throwing you to the wolves. Sixth Division has very specialized tasks. You'll be partnered up with another Seated officer for training. You'll be made familiar with Regulations and the like specific to Squad Six. How things are handled out in the Rukongai as well as the Sereitei." She explained calmly enough, taking a moment to rifle through the papers on her desk before promptly setting a small folder in front fo Toki.
"You'll be responsible for simpler tasks that are given out to all members, seated and unseated. In addition to work specific to Seated Officers. However THAT work, you'll be doing under supervision of the SO you're shadowing. Once they fell you're ready, they'll clear you and you'll be set to take on tasks without oversight. Though if you ever have questions or need help, you're encouraged to reach out." She opened the folder and gestured to a list of higher ranked Seated Members who could be reached for such issues, oe of which was her own. "Over time, it'll be expected that you won't need help as often. But well. Given the nature of our work, and that we do a lot more work with Non-shinigami than other divisions which requires very .....specific approaches. You aren't expected to be perfect. Not even you, Hinamori-san." She pointed out. Which was true, and frankly at this point, her voice did lose a little of its....playful ups and downs and became more professional.

HINAMORI TOKI
Looking over the list that'd been set in front of him, Toki took in the names rather quickly before returning his attention fully to Yuri. She certainly seemed helpful, and the change in her demeanor was one he appreciated more at this stage in the conversation. Paradoxically, it felt a bit more comforting that she'd simply shifted to a more professional approach.
"I appreciate that. I'd been prepared to jump right into things if it was necessary, but I'm glad that it won't be. I'd like to hope that I'm at least a bit prepared to deal with non-shinigami, but I don't expect working as a florist will have many transferable skills."
Broad personability and social skills would only go so far when working here in Realm Enforcement, after all, and even if Toki had both of those things, there was plenty more that he considered well out of his wheelhouse. He noted that she'd specified that not even he was expected to be perfect, but if anything, he liked to hear that. Not because he felt like he'd need lax expectations, but because he preferred that she acknowledge potentially high expectations from the get-go.

Yuri raised her brows slightly and barely restrained herself from giving the young man an incredulous look. There certainly was .... well she had figured this wasn't going to be a normal interview. After all, the kid's reputation alone made this "complicated". Not for her, mainly for all the stupid fucks who felt that they could let their inane little paranoia and fears get in the way of doing their jobs. What, did they think this kid was going to suddenly pull out Aizen level nonsense? If this kid WAS Aizen 2.0, what did they think being shitty to him would accomplish?
No, what SHE was concerned about, was whatever was up this kid's ass. She wasn't stupid, she'd seen plenty of students fresh from the academy. And in truth, it wasn't like he was being a shit or anything. No, she could just tell he was on edge. Tense. Alert. The way he paid attention to what she was saying wasn't the nervousness of someone ready for a new job, it almost felt like he was expecting her to say or do something he didn't like. And boy, was that not a good quality to have when your job meant interacting with people who likely knew nothing about you. Of course it was possible that this little quirk of his was just because of the fact this was an interview. And certainly, from what she'd heard, he had plenty of reason for it.
But that didn't mean it wouldn't potentially make HER life harder. And already in the back of her mind, some sliver of annoyance was growing. And unlike her, she didn't have any notion that she was overthinking things. It didn't matter if she was wrong, if she WAS wrong? Then she had nothing to worry about. But if she was right then she was gonna need to keep her eye on this little shit. Hmmm. She glanced down at the list and drummed her fingers. Thankfully, his assigned shadow was pretty good. Very on the ball, she wouldn't have to be up their, or Toki's ass. She could trust that if there were any problems because flower boy here felt the need to prove himself, that she'd hear about it.
All of these thoughts ran through her head tangent to the smile and polite nod in response to his words. "Do try to curb that impulse. You'll be joining as a seated officer. But the authority that comes with that position will be ..... tenuous at first. If you aren't sure about something, speak with the Senior Officer first unless it's an emergency in need of immediate action. And even then, you're expected to reach out as soon as you're able to do so.You'll make mistakes, no matter how careful you are. It comes with the nature of the job. Even if you somehow manage to memorize all of the regulations in one day, the finer details of handling situations those guidelines don't cover can still trip you up. What's important is that you learn from them." She sat up a bit straighter before settling back into her seat.
"Do you have any questions or concerns before we wrap things up?"
