Fruitcakes [Ira, Kasha]

Well, it hadn't been too long since Ira'd been on a date or anything, though he'd certainly been a little busy lately. But as he sat at a bench awaiting the arrival of his...boyfriend, he did think to himself that this was the first time they were meeting up down here on Earth.

He also thought to himself that the idea of having a boyfriend was still a really alien concept, but that wasn't really here or there.

For now, he was mostly just looking forward to getting to show Kasha around the place that was the closest he could call to a home these days. Be nice to show him the sights, take him to the best fishing spot, get a drink on the beach, all that jazz. Just had to wait for the guy to show up, but there was still a little time before when he'd actually told Kasha to meet him here.

Admittedly he'd been less than enthusiastic to be brought down from the Seireitei for some nonsensical fighting gathering but that's just what happened when you were a pacifist at a fighting tournament. He'd at least taken the effort to work on a new look prior to making his debut among the living realm, it was his first visit after all.

So the elusive nobleman wandered through the streets thoughtfully. A white kimono was the option rather than the shihakusho, it helped him move a lot more discreetly than draw too much attention. This was the kind of thing that he was certain the Fifth Division would love to take advantage of, not that those gnats were his issue now. Now he was able to comfortably operate within the Eight Division.

"Good afternoon Ira."

He said as he quietly came up on his partner, at least having his hair in a ponytail now rather than kept up as buns out out reduced the amount of times he'd spend correcting stray strands of it. The green eyes, the fact his complexion looked a bit more paler than he'd have kept it previously and the sharpening of his features. Stealth was his forte and his ability to alter his appearance was first-rate, fortunately the voice, build and height should be enough for Ira to tell.

After all, what kind of guy didn't even recognise their boyfriend all dolled up?

The voice Ira heard behind him did certainly shake him out of his idle thoughts, though as he turned around, his expression was one that could only properly be described as "shock," and his eyes darted over Kasha's features in a bit of disbelief before his usual grin eventually made its way onto his face.

"Boy, you really know how to throw a guy for a loop, eh? Now I feel underdressed!"

Not that he actually really cared about that sort of thing, of course, and he didn't imagine Kasha did, either. Still, he felt like he ought to actually give at least a little bit more thoughtful of a reply than all that, so as he took Kasha's hand and started to lead the way, he spoke again, now a little more collected since the initial surprise had worn off.

"You look damn good like that. I'll have to try not to get too distracted while I'm showing you around."

"Oh?"

He looked himself over, a little critical of himself now that he'd supposedly overdressed. He never really tried to be extravagent, just subtle in the ways which he could manipulate his appearance through the usage of make-up and outfits.

"Don't worry yourself Ira, I like to think I'm quite astute."

Kasha declared while housing his dainty nail-polished hands into his sleeves and waiting for the young man to take the lead. An off-coloured eye glancing to look around at the foreign environment, so this was the human world. Kyo must surely love the architecture he thought to himself.

"I know you are, you're not the one I'm worried about gettin' distracted!"

Ira chuckled at that, pulling Kasha along gently but with a very clear firmness. Sure, he might not have been too authoritative, but Ira was hardly a delicate flower in really any way. He was leading this date like he'd lead any date, and that meant going right on into it. The fact that it happened to be with a guy was...well, he'd be lying if he said it was totally inconsequential, but he certainly wasn't letting it get to him.

"Thankfully, I already got all this planned out, so unless my thick skull's gotten even thicker, I should still be able to show you a good time."

While their dates in the Seireitei had always been quiet, tasteful affairs, Ira didn't think that was necessarily who he was. Not to say he had a bad time with them, by any means, but that was definitely when the ball was in Kasha's court. Now it was on Ira to lead the way, and his idea of a nice time out for the night was a little different. The City of Lights might not have had a boardwalk quite like what he was hoping for, but they still had plenty of shoreline and beaches, so he pulled Kasha along toward the sea, not too forceful but certainly confidently.

Well that made sense to him he had to guess while being led in a direction he was vaguely familiar with. It looked like they were going closer to the ocean but that was fine. Kasha was prone to getting dragged into things as a sidekick, Kyo always initiated their activities for the most part. So this didn't seem any different.

"Well, I will trust your judgement on the matter then IIra."

He responded in regards to the day being planned out. It was always good to have a rigid schedule Kasha thought, never one to really do things on a whim unless he was pulled headfirst into it. If he thought about it a bit too much then maybe that might be a bit more common than he thought.

With continued confidence in his stride as he led Kasha along, Ira eventually stopped at the small little bar that overlooked the sea. He tended to come here often when he was visiting the City of Lights, and that wasn't necessarily just because of the drinks or anything, though he did sit down and order two margaritas. It was just a natural instinct to order for his date too, really, and he sat down before turning his attention toward the ocean, pointing down the beach a bit.

"If you watch down there, the port lets out right down that side. You can sit here for hours and just watch all the boats comin' and goin'."

There was a nostalgic, almost wistful air to Ira's voice as he said that, and it took a little longer than it might normally have for him to move his gaze from the ocean, and the ships sailing on it, back to Kasha. Didn't want to ignore his date, did he?

"You ever had a chance to go out to sea before?"

"No, I'm afraid we don't have much in the way of oceans in the Soul Society. There's large bodies of water in the Rukongai and some in the Seireitei but as far as oceans... I expect you'd need to look deep in the outlands and whatever rugged denizens exist out there."

Kasha had never really bothered to look too deeply into what was beyond the Rukongai. It was probably just a bunch of wild savages that were all dirty and living like criminals if the outer districts of the Rukongai were anything to judge by. Would people even survive out there?

Just something he contemplated while looking at the ocean and taking a sip of the drink. It didn't make his nose scrunch up but it was interesting to see such a large body of water for the first time in his life.

"Now that's a shame. We'll have to get you out on the water some time, then! Been a few years since I went out, but it's still all right up here in my head. 'Course, who knows if my body remembers all that."

Ira chuckled at the mental image of himself struggling on the deck like he had as a young man decades ago, but he didn't linger on that for too long. He was still on a date here, after all.

"Ever go fishing, at least? I know a lot of those sporty kinds of pastimes are supposed to be big with the nobility n' all that, right?"

While he was hardly the most studious fellow, Ira had at least gone out of his way to genuinely look into the history and culture of both Japan and the Soul Society at about the best level he could, and tried to figure things out so he could have conversations and generally not treat Kasha like he was a total alien. He didn't really imagine he'd get everything right, but still, he was making an effort.
