Bro's Sus (Cala, Shiro)

What a mess. Vastime's gone and Hollow are running amok. The countless lives lost, left to suffer in purgatory due to the suddenness of everything, are doing nothing but attracting Hollow after Hollow. It's like an all you can eat buffet. If Shiro's not sending a wayward soul on its way, he's cutting down a big nasty. A break is a necessity. Shiro's not one to jump to the frontlines, but he's also not one to be so outwardly cowardly. People need protecting, whether he wants to be fighting nonstop or not.

"This place seems pretty clear," He'd mutter though, noticing the lack of anything around. It's just some random part of Africa near the outskirts of Vastime's borders. He worked his way outward in his quadrant. Guess this means he's about done for today. Someone is supposed to come along and take his spot so that he can recuperate. He could go for some time with a certain someone, but he knows she'd never give him the time of day with everything bogging her down. He doesn't want to be another issue.

While wandering the living world Cala had, of course, heard of the abundance of Hollows arriving in Africa from some... abyss? The details were hazy to them as, truly, they had many more pressing, more personal matters to be attending to. However, they could not simply leave something so monumental, so potential hazardous, entirely without their attention. Though they did not throw themselves into the lion's den they did, nonetheless, approach the outskirts of Vastime with something between fondness and... dread. Once they were able to put a face to the name of Desmond Hayden, that towering behemoth they had briefly encountered what felt like a lifetime ago, as the one who had created this country Cala was none too pleased to really be here.

Their very reason for traveling along the outskirts of Vastime was to be as removed, but in the area, from the nation made by what they recalled to be a threatening presence. They did not expect this to lead them into the quadrant of another individual, never mind bring them near anyone. With tattered black clothing shielding them from the African heat and wind, hood drawn up to cover their hair and head, with Ceniza at their hip resting rather easily. Naturally, in this form, Cala could not disguise what they were from others. They were an Arrancar, one of middling power perhaps, but nonetheless easy enough to sense out if one was actively looking for something like them.

Cala's current path took them through the broken remnants of old houses and huts, on the very edge of Shiro's quadrant, and possibly technically outside it. The buildings were low and sparse, though tall enough for a person to stand behind unseen. If Cala continued on their current path it seemed all but certain they would reach the abyss the Hollows poured forth from and perhaps before this would fill them with an eager hunger but now? Now it simply left them with a vague restlessness. The idea of so many Hollows like themselves emerging from within the earth was very, very odd and if that was not the case and someone was summoning them then what, or who, could do such a thing? None of these prospects sat right with Cala and they were at least curious enough to try and see this place for themselves.

Just as he reached the end of his shift, something else had to rear its head. Whether it's ugly or not shall be left until a better picture is painted. Shiro simply knows he'd rather not have to address another Hollow this evening. However, as he continued on his walk, the scent of them filled his nostrils, and he understood the necessity to ready his Zanpakuto. Wanting to be alone, and needing to act... Why was he forced down this life again? Punishment for something he had no choice in really made hard work harder.

Casually moving towards the source of his resentment, he found another individual who seemed too interested in what he just left behind. Seems someone wants a closer look into the abyss, but he's here to make sure someone doesn't get too in over their head, or to keep out unwanted visitors. Rubbing the back of his head as he neared, barely trying to conceal himself, he'd raise a hand and wave down the Arrancar. That's right. This guy isn't an ugly giant monster, so he has to be the more civilized version.

"Yo. This area's under lock down."

Whelp. In an empty world that felt like something out of a zombie apocalypse, he's messing with an Arrancar. He better get a firm handshake after this.

Cala had hardly entered what could be graciously called the "town center" of the little collection of buildings when he felt the presence of an approaching Shinigami. One that felt of similar stripe to themselves and for this they were both grateful and somewhat..... puzzled by. They had, in all honesty, expected one of their vaunted Captains to be looking into a problem like this but, then again, Cala was not particularly close to the source of the issue. Most likely this individual was but a vanguard, someone to keep the perimeter while those with more power handled what lie within. What did that say, then, about their own level of power if this person was their equal?

Cala paused their walking, both due to the Shinigami in question actually deciding to wave at them, and also due to being displeased with the direction of their thoughts. For a long time, a long time, they had consumed other Hollows to acquire enough power to survive, to be able to travel unimpeded where they wished in Hueco Mundo. Had they done all that for nothing if they were still only equal to a... servant of the Shinigami? Had their time in the living realm stymied their growth? They pursed their lips at this, even more displeased from what that thought entailed, but for now they focused on the Shinigami as he spoke. Their masked visage not looking directly at him as they nodded their head, speaking in their usual stoic, neutral tone, though a bit slower than normal as their mind was somewhat distracted by their earlier thoughts.

"We see. You are the one keeping the perimeter then? We were.... unaware."

Cala paused for a moment, head turning slowly back and forth as if they were actually looking at anything, while their Pesquisa echoed over the area around them.

"The lockdown does not seem.... pressing. We were merely concerned for the sudden emergence of more Hollows into the world. Far away from the source as you are and given the location we can imagine you are less than entertained."

Cala could all but say the same as traveling around the outskirts of Vasthime had hardly been an enjoyable experience, or even a passable one, it was in all honesty rather boring out here. A thought occurred to Cala a bit later than it should have as they sighed gently.

"Should you wish to purify us know that we would not wish to be your entertainment in that capacity."

We? Oh. It's one of those days, huh? Shiro's not one to judge, but he's not used to unusual speaking patterns, except from drunkards, so he's not sure if this Arrancar is talking about himself or if he has friends around. He can't sense anyone else around, but that's how traps work, huh? One second, it's clear. Then, he's surrounded with no way out. His guard grew because of that possibility, but he didn't show any outward hostility. If it's nothing but simple speech impediments, then he shouldn't turn hostile. He doesn't want to.

"It's clean up time. It seems all the serious stuff has been dealt with, but it's still dangerous for just anyone to wander," Shiro explained then, letting the stranger get its say. Honestly, it's due to the quick response from the Vandenreich and Gotei that nothing spiraled out of control. They were quick to clean up any hostile Hollow that emerged due to the sudden rise of cancerous Reiatsu in the area, but that's not entirely important to the current situation. It seems there's a bit of a misunderstanding here, and Shiro couldn't help but sigh and rub the back of his head, his body relaxing as he shrugged his shoulders.

"But, it's almost time for me to head out, and I'd rather not have to do anymore work. Don't cause problems, and I won't have to solve them, kapeesh?"

Despite Shiro's warning about not causing problems Cala was not the kind of Arrancar to take such vague threats to heart since they were stipulated on Cala being the one to cause issues. No instead Cala was more than a little relieved to hear that things were being handled so aptly. Though they weren't exactly the half of themselves to give any sort of credit to the Shinigami for much of anything Cala could at least recognize a job well done. Humming quietly Cala would expand their Pesquisa's perception a bit, finding the surrounding area clear just as the individual stated. Mumbling to themselves.

"We see....."

Cala would shake their head gently and, returning their perceptions more fully to Shiro, would nod gently.

"If the situation has been quelled enough that you are leaving then we doubt our own presence will do much. Though if the situation is as potentially dangerous as you claim that seems.... contradictory."

Cala would then shrug softly, their sightless head turning to and fro in gentle motions, not really looking at anything but more to give the illusion they were.

"In any case we have no desire to cause you trouble, least of all after what seems to be a fairly..... boring posting."

Even as emotionally subdued as this Cala was even they had to admit that standing out here in the desert did not sound like a good time. Even in Hueco Mundo you were at least likely to run into a Hollow to fight or devour but simply standing watch out here, with nothing to fight and no way to entertain oneself? That was enough to even make this Cala's face twist in a bit of distaste. Enough distaste that they would make an offer they otherwise would not bother with out of a bit of sympathy for the man.

"Should you wish company on your journey out here, we do not mind, though traveling with an Arrancar may be something you are uncomfortable with."

"You do you, dude. I could care less about the who as long as the why is alright."

Now, what did that even mean? Shiro doubted this Arrancar would get it, but the white-haired Shinigami found no reason to dislike him because of his race. Shiro's met plenty of horrible humans, and he'd take some Arrancar over them any day. The only requirement to hang with him is to not be a complete douchebag.

"Just be careful. Any normal person would get killed by a Hollow any weak Shinigami could handle. If you got the right stuff, then don't take any heed where you step. I'm gonna head on my way. Come or go."

He turned then, taking a lackadaisical stroll.
