MORIKAWA MIZU

Just a regular Hollow Hunting contract. That is what Morikawa Mizu, 5th Seat of the 8th Division of the Gotei United, had signed up for. That's all it was supposed to be. Unfortunately it was made abundantly clear to the petite, golden-maned Shinigami this contract would be anything but as she raced across Paris's outskirts, barely finding footholds atop exploding roofs.

Backing up some, after Mizu accepted a contract for a Hollow Hunt where one of the beasts her people slew had been sighted in Paris, France she made her way through a Senkaimon Gate and into the living world forthwith. After all, why wait and strategize when her prey was a minor corrupted spirit that had only been able to send a single person to a hospital? Such a creature could be put down by any grunt in the Gotei. Easy pickings for a seated officer.

When Mizu exited the massive portal in the sky and fell through the air, before landing softly in a stony alley damp with moisture from ceased rain, the scene before her was shocking to say the least. One of the buildings nearing the alley's end had been blasted apart, leaving it in smouldering ruins dampened by rainfall. Whatever amount of people that may usually be meandering through the area had apparently already fled and refused to return as the only sound in Mizu's ear was the pitter patter of water falling from rooftops.

Recognizing the situation as far more dire than had been noted in the contract Mizu immediately drew her Zanpakuto and held it in front of her, her gaze scanning the environment for any clues as to the malefactor's location. Despite the situation surprising her Mizu's nerves remained steeled. This was hardly her first rodeo and her experiences kept her focused on the situation. Can't rule out multiple targets, though this destruction is more reminiscent of a Cero than anything. But we'd know if a Menos was nearby-- Just as Mizu pondered the situation a resounding BOOM rang out as the wall to her left exploded, sending bricks flying in every direction and Mizu along with them.

MORIKAWA MIZU

Despite the ringing in her ears and pain coursing throughout her body Mizu immediately dragged herself to her feet and sprinted from the now-torn apart alleyway. Upon entering the narrow stone street nearby she turned on her heel and faced where the explosion had occurred, Zanpakuto at the ready. Where is it?! she thought desperately to herself, unsure of where these attacks had originated. Her question would be answered by another blast which tore through the building to her left which she quickly cast a barrier spell to protect herself from. She already had a few bruises from flying stones and didn't want more.

From out of the billowing smoke walked the silhouette of a tall man who's body was revealed to be clad in white robes with a crimson mane atop his head. His sharp features and human size made it clear this person was no Hollow "A-an Arrancar?!" Mizu, shocked, wondered how a Hollow Hunt report could be so wrong and why was an Arrancar here in the living realm causing wanton destruction. With a wrathful glare the stranger shot back a reply to her rhetorical question "That's right, Shinigami. You expected to come here and prey upon a Hollow, but you're the only prey I see."
