Double Measures [Alastair, Reida]

Alastair had wanted for a moment to press on with that line of conversation, to tell Reida that he still thought she was all those things, but that was a little too far for them right now. He did not want her to actually snap or anything so dire.

"It grows more homely when you are here, certainly, and I have no plans of moving out either. Not least until our current work for the Vandenreich is done. Then, maybe, we can look outside of the city."

He was not much of a city person himself, were he to try to categorise it. Simplicity was what he had always preferred, a nice country estate like that he had grown up in. But not now, not for a while yet. There was far too much that needed to be accomplished before he could consider resting. Yet, for Reida, he would always have to consider it. Even if she did not ask it of him right now.
