Strategies, Battlefields, Friends [Kyo, Kasha]

Typically, Kyo sent ahead a formal message to the Koizumi estate when he intended to visit Kasha for tea or the like, but today he hadn't bothered to do so. It wasn't necessarily because he was actively trying to be rude, of course. He'd simply been so caught up in his thoughts that he didn't even bother to send it. Even so, when he arrived at their front gates, he spoke as clearly as he always did, practically announcing his intention to the guards.

"Sawachika Kyo, here to see Koizumi Kasha, the younger!"

He'd come by here more than enough times to know that being specific on that front was going to be a smart move. This was, after all, not just a visit for tea and a chat with a friend. Kyo was here for a very serious discussion, and he wasn't going to waste time with anyone but Kasha.

He was not exactly prepared for this visit, that much was for certain. Without the forewarning and lack of intention to go out today he had opted to forgo his make-up and styling. It wasn't like he could wear his guise twenty-four seven without it impacting his skin.

"Kyo? What brings you here unannounced? I've hardly the time to make myself proper."

The carefree voice sang when he arrived with an escort. The kimono being adjusted to look more appropriate as he became a tad more serious about the situation. He was not so unobservant that he'd notice the peculiarity in this visit.

It was good to see Kasha, after all that had transpired recently, and despite the seriousness of his visit, Kyo couldn't entirely help but offer a small grin and a teasing comment. It was just in his nature, he supposed.

"Ah, that girl is still in town, is she?"

But he didn't even expect a response, and it had been just a joke to lighten the mood. His voice was firm, certain, but lacking in its usual jovial tone. After all, he was here on the most serious business he'd ever had with Kasha, and he wanted to make that much clear.

"You'll have to forgive me for not sending a letter to let you know I was on my way, but I've had a bit on my mind. There's a few things I'd like to discuss with you if you've got the time."

"Is that so?"

Kasha asked in response to the important business. His red eyes flicking to the side like he was checking if that suited him at this hour. He was after all checking if that pain of a teacher of his was here.

She wasnt.

"I'm free, yes. Would you like to come in?"

"Yes, thank you."

Kyo had been to the Koizumi estate before, of course, but this was quite different. He had always been for relatively brief visits, to grab Kasha for a night out or simply to visit for tea. This, however, was something he outright didn't want to discuss with anyone around but the two of them.

"Sorry to surprise you like this, didn't mean to catch you unprepared."

His previous apology had been loud, one mostly intended for the sake of courtesy expected between two nobles. By contrast, this one was quiet, his tone obviously genuine. Kyo knew Kasha always put a good bit into his appearance, so suddenly catching him unprepared for a meeting did make him feel faintly guilty.

"Don't worry yourself with it, Kyo. As long as it's not disruptive to your thoughts I don't mind remaining casual like this."

He turned around and went inside, leaving Kyo to let himself in and loiter in the stone lined training pit while Kasha would do the appropriate actions as the host.

"I'll prepare some tea unless it's an urgent matter on your thoughts?"

Kasha paused while letting Kyo consider the urgency of the matter. His messy raven hair hanging about in various spots.

Typically, Kyo might have made some joke about Kasha's pretty face being distracting, and it probably would have been pretty funny. But right now wasn't the time for that, and he just shook his head, certainly not wanting to seem like he was put off by his friend being comfortable.

"No, it's not that urgent. Tea would be great. Better for conversation, anyway, don't you think?"

It wasn't so much that this was urgent, after all. There wasn't some timer counting down that would prevent all Kyo's ambitions from coming to pass if he didn't start this conversation right away. But it was extremely important, so he wanted to make sure he handled it right.

"Naturally."

He left for a little bit to set up a pot of tea, not exactly the strong blends his friend might've preferred but it did suit him fine for something to drink while the giant explained what was on his mind. How peculiar, he determined it must be quite important for this behaviour.

"Alright. Tea is done, please speak whenever you're ready."

Kasha sat and left the stage open for Kyo while pouring tea for them both. Curious as ever to hear what Kyo had to share.

Taking a sip of tea for a moment to think about how he ought to word this, Kyo closed his eyes for a moment. Then he set his cup down, looking to Kasha with fire behind his gaze. Even if his voice lacked the typical bombast, he still had all his usual intensity.

"When my father passes on the Sawachika household, I want to inherit it. To do that, I can't just settle. I can't rest until I've become a man worthy of the name, the title."

He'd become absolutely firm in this conviction, the longer he thought about it. Kyo knew that he couldn't just become captain, but he knew exactly what it would take to reach that position. The man he would have to become, and the effort he'd have to undertake.

"I'm intending to become a captain, Kasha. I've read the commander's announcement about new divisions, and I'm going to take that chance. No matter what, I'll make it. And I'd like you to be my vice captain."

Kyo held out his hand at that, quite intent on bringing Kasha along for this journey. He was, after all, his best friend, someone he trusted completely. That was the kind of person he wanted at his side when he made it there, and he knew that both of them would need to climb a great deal to that height. Better to do it together than alone.

It was a pretty straightforward question and it had a very simple answer but Kyo had caught him ill-prepared and naked without his normal make-up and hair styling, then opted to tease him. It was only right and just that Kasha would reciprocate by taking a few sips of tea and drawing out his 'thinking' session.

"Sure."

Short and simple, plain. That was the easy part for Kyo though, it was all well and good for his friend to come and begin saying his aspirations for them but Kasha looked at the wider picture and cast his net accordingly. There were logistics to consider here.

"And should we succeed, what exactly shall be the domain of our division?"

He asked with another sip of tea.
