It's Raining Cats and Dogs [Antonetta, Wolfina]

"It will be. You'll see."

It was said with a lot more confidence than she felt, maybe it was just wishful thinking but she couldn't bear the idea of what it'd be without it. To succumb to the idea that her family would continue down a spiral, that they had already crossed the point of no return and the fragile peace plummeted down towards the ground from space with no hope of recovery. She had to be confident and strong when she said it.

"So you just.. take a rest here with me and then when it's all done it'll all be better, okay?"

There was no other pathway available to her or them, she had to kill Arlette or her sisters would be condemned to a worse fate and she couldn't have that happen. So she'd claw and tear at her runaway big sister as much as necessary to try and regain her maker's favour again.

Wolfina let herself be pulled closer into Antonetta's embrace, drawing closer until her lips were close enough to almost touch her sister's ear. They were both fighters, even if their methods differed greatly, but she knew not how to steer her from this self-destructive path this time. All she could do was use that to her own advantage, whatever that may be. There was a lot to process, after all.

"Alright, I can rest here for a while. And then we can be off come the morning."

Her words were a little hollow, for even one so skilled at deception as an Ovide could not so easily deceive her kin. She could see in Netta's heart that she would not wake to find her here, and that was a truth she would have to accept.

After all, what was left when sisters start lying to each other?
