Re: Balancing the Books[Curry, Sabertooth]

Watching the creature almost vanish entirely was quite interesting, a useful ability for a Hollow such as herself to possess certainly. His senses were keen though, with proximity also working in his favour, so he could track the faintest vestiges of her spiritual pressure.
"If I have to micromanage you all night then it will hardly be worth my time. You may proceed in whatever manner you deem fit. I will merely be observing."
From his vantage point, Curry could sense the two Hollows finally beginning to respond. They had no doubt sensed the sudden drop from the beast's disappearance and determined that there was something of interest over here. Neither were particularly threatening things, a pair that more closely resembled giant fish which had been forced to grow extra limbs to survive on dry land. Compared to the Sabertooth, neither of them appeared to pose much of a threat.
They trudged between two large stacks of containers, waiting for a meal to present itself to them and wholly unaware as to what they were walking into.

Sabertooth had been about to give a nice snippy little response about how he expected to interview her when he wouldn't even be able to see her when those hollows promptly started to move in. Punctual little things weren't they? She sloooowly arched her back and rose up to her paws, her body a mere shimmer as she moved and watched those two start to approach. Certainly not particularly threatening looking. But she needed to conserve her energy for the night. And so she crouched, bunching up her haunches before she LAUNCHED herself. A sudden burst of explosive speed as she went from resting to her top speed in just an instant, Just as she approched the two fish, she spread her wing, hardening her reiryoku around her long blade-like appendage and aiming to rip it clean through both hollows, the sheer speed and strength behind the attack aimed to cleave one of the fish clean in half, and rake the tip of her wing across the other to rip it's side open.
A quick execution of the one hollow and of course, a delivery of her acidic touch to the other, an acid specifically designed to go after muscle and connective tissue, intent to cripple the other hollow rather than outright kill it. The kind of thing that on stronger hollows was made to slowly wear them out and disable them without putting herself in too much danger. A scavenger's weapon to be sure. All the same, she'd skid to a halt just on the other side of the fishes and turn to peer. Cautious in case of any surprises.

The two Hollows were woefully unprepared for an attack from the shadows, let alone one with such ferocity. There was not even a split second for them to react before Sabertooth made her move and exited behind them, causing about as much damage as she had expected. The first one was dispatched as intended, bisected in a single blow without much in the way of resistance, but the second was not yet out of the fight. Acid did course through its body, potent enough to cripple it if given time to spread through its system, but it was not yet immobilised.
For want of a better word, the remaining flopped backwards towards Sabertooth. It was not a particularly fast attack, though there was a certain amount of mass to the creature that made it dangerous if it connected. Still, it was a reckless attack. The nigh mindless creature knew only that it had been hurt and if it did not strike now then it would likely never get to strike again.

Sabertooth was pleased with the results of the attack, eyes narrowing as she watched one of the fish simply fall to the ground dead, peering for a moment as that fish flopped artlessly at her. She moved to the side, and simply narrowed her eyes calmly, deftly slashing with her other wing. A quick, almost dismissive slash to rip that long blade-like length along the edge across the hollow's mask, intent on shattering it on the spot and finishing it off. No need to expend the energy for another full-out blitz since they didn't seem to amount to much.
It would be a simple affair just to wait for their spiritual pressure to winkle out and then she could proceed to eat them. Of course, she didn't say anything. After all, she was in stealth mode now. The flowing water wrapped around her body washing the blood away, causing brief little swirls of red along her frame before it vanished. A pause, looking around to check the coast before glancing in Curry's direction. She didn't expect a reaction or anything of the like. It was much more that she was curious if he had been able to keep track of her movements.

The second Hollow found itself on the receiving end of a brutal slash that shattered the mask and tore deep into the creature too, it would not be long before both creatures had expired in the truest sense of the word. She had been victorious in this first bout, though to call her opponents a challenge would have been generous.
Indeed, there was no visible reaction from Curry as he watched the hollows crumble underneath the brief but furious attack. He had observed it, certainly, but the speed was even more alarming than he had first estimated. Perhaps this would be a fruitful partnership after all. And then there was whatever had happened with the water that had been splashed on her. This creature was growing more dangerous with every little detail, so he could not let his guard down.
There was a lull in activity though, as a relative silence descended upon the docks. A few distant Hollows in various compositions, but none seemed to be approaching them quite yet. Perhaps the quiet would hold, but if it did then Curry had one chief suspect for what was happening here. So, for now, he waited patiently.

Tch, more? She sniffed the air, a soft, quiet sound that likely only curry would faintly hear. Hmmm. She took a moment and began to prowl around, taking nice, slow, deep scents of the air and scanning the area with her reikaku. Curry briefly forgotten for a moment as she instead focused on just the strength of these stragglers moving in. To try and make note of any significantly strong hollows that might need to be preemptively dealt with. No.... she was defending cargo. It may be better to just wipe out the small fry and then focus on the big ones. Otherwise the little runts might swarm the cargo while she fought the big one. Hmmm.
She ignored the scraps of the fish hollows for now. She wasn't injured or in any need of energy. They would simply fade and naturally be brought to hueco mundo, and very little would frankly be wasted.

Reaching out with her senses, Sabertooth would soon determine that - in the nearby vicinity - there were three more groups of Hollows of any note. One was a pack of smaller fries, numbering somewhere in the region of a dozen, whose primary threat was their numbers. Another was a single large threat along with a couple of smaller creatures lingering in proximity. And the last was a single entity, not measuring the same as the other large threat, but enough to stand alone and pose a significant threat to an unexpecting foe.
None of them was moving in yet, each content to mind their own business in the middle of the night, but perhaps it was only a matter of time. Sabertooth had the information at her disposal, and each of the groups was separated by enough that she might be able to engage one without immediately falling prey to another, but the decision of how to proceed remained hers. Would she stay with the cargo and wait, or strike out before the threat had any risk of compounding itself?
Curry, for his part, remained in his particular vantage point. He could not quite tell what his beast was up to, but if he were to guess then reconnaissance would prove to be a close pass at the truth.

The hell?! There were only a few hollows before, how were so many showing up?! Hm, this was a pickle indeed. But she could already feel a general sense of what to do. She didn't need insects harrying her for the time being. The small fry would go first. Those would be much harder to keep off of the cargo if they moved in close to the containers. The larger ones might start moving, but at the very least, it would be a lot easier to keep them off than a bunch of small little things. Crouching and bunching the muscles along her frame, once again she promptly shot off in the direction of the largest group. Speeding through the docks as she closed in, eyes narrowed.
She'd take a moment to get a sense of what kind of creatures they were. Cautious after all. With her spiritual pressure suppressed, there shouldn't be anything to alert them to her presence, other than her scent. But frankly, the place was LOUSY with the smell of hollow, she wasn't terribly concerned with them picking her up. She intended to get at least a simple survey of what kind of hollow they were, and would then decide on how best to take out as many of them in one go as she could. Then hunt down any stragglers before turning her attention to the other two groups.

Watching the Sabertooth skulk off in the direction of the largest pack of Hollows, Curry turned his attention to the other groups. How they moved now would decide how interestingly his night went, not that it had been particularly disinteresting so far. He began to rewrap his tie around his hand, fresh scrapes now being covered up again by that all too familiar cloth.
That gang of smaller hollows was quite a bit away from the actual waterfront, seemingly lurking within a large warehouse. It was a large space, broken down across several rooms and generally looking rather dilapidated. They were certainly not entirely on the prowl themselves, nor had they taken any notice of Sabertooth as she stealthily approached. It would not take long for them all to gather, should a reason be provided for them to do so, but -for now- they were lounging around entirely unawares that a predator might well be in their midst.

Idle. None of them seemed to be doing anything. They were just a cluster of weaklings that seemed intent on sticking together. But she was more than aware of how dangerous little hollows could be when in groups. She prowled close and flexed her wings, slowly fanning out those long jagged edges. She paused and took a slight dip, lowering herself into the water and drawing a good volume out and coating it along her body, thickening that watery veil she created by herself by adding water from the dock itself. A little padding to cling to her body. Now to see if she could deal with a few of these hollows in one strike.
However, once she actually DID close in, she found them.... eh? Indoors?! She twitched just a little, that made her plan MUCH harder. Well.... sortof. Hm. She closed in.
She took a moment to start picking up speed, before promptly she broke into an all-out blitz, her whole body compressed, narrowing her profile. Everything but those wings which fanned out, to cover as wide an areas as possible as she STREAKED through the group in a curve, intent on splitting as many of them clean through the middle as she could manage in a high-speed blitz through the group itself... AND the warehouse itself. There would be a loud, wrenching SHRED as she sliced clear through the side of the building, aiming to ram through and slice clean through the hollow nearest to the outside, intent on cleaving it clean in half and shoving it's upper half across a wareouse table as her wings separated it from the rest of it's body.
But she promptly darted into the shadows, her camouflage thickening as she took a moment to ....collect herself. Focusing her Reikaku to track the oter hollow's motions, and to get a sense of the layout of the warehouse itself. How many walls between them? What was in the way? All little calculations as she attempted to figure out how best to take them out.
