This Is No Place To Die [Natasha/Kokuto]

Note to self. I really have to choose my vacation time more wisely.

With a soft groan dancing playfully from her lips, Natasha cast a soft gaze towards her mobile device. There were countless notifications on her phone - none of them were pleasant. The southern woman couldn't quite shake the unease until she visited the hospital. That had to be the first stop. Her day wouldn't begin worth a damn if she couldn't confirm the fate of her peers. Thank, Christ, then, that she did not have to hear any terrible news regarding death.

They had survived. Apparently, Lukas, Kokuto, and that Solo kid' were involved, and Gigi, too. They fought some monstrosity whose identity was a mystery. The only info she had been provided was simply that he resembled a former war hero from the old generation. Sheesh... there never was a dull day in the City Of Lights, huh?

Something caused her to raise an eyebrow during her visit, however. They had confirmed that three of them had left the hospital, but the fourth... hadn't even been registered. He hadn't even been brought there. Kokuto. The big ole' demon boy'. Or man. He was technically older than her, but he certainly didn't give off that older man vibes. Felt like a young man, if nothing else. Well, Natasha had a lead. It was time to go pick him up' and make sense of this godforsaken situation.'

Her journey would take her to the sight of where the battle had taken place. Natasha observed her surroundings, using her spiritual sense to monitor the area for Kokuto's presence. Thankfully, that proved to be an easier task than expected. A hirenkyaku-induced dash led her to the man who seemed to be staggering about and trying to make his way towards somewhere. His condition wasn't verge of death territory, but he clearly didn't seem to be in the best condition, either.

"Easy there, big guy. I don't think you're in too great of a condition to be movin' around now. Care for a helpin' hand?"

"Well, aint you a charmin' one, big guy? Guessin' by your profile, I'd think it'd be a good guess to say you're Kokuto. Name's Natasha Miller, though you can certainly call me Nat' for short. As far as your concern..."

Natasha dramatically swayed back and forth a little to sort of create an air of tension before playfully sticking her tongue out.

"I must inform you that... all of three of em' made it out pretty' safe. Gigi, Luke, Solo... all of them made it safely to the hospital."

Moving towards him, keeping herself at a distance, she use blut to keep her hands form being burnt as she pushed him forward. Utilizing her reishi manipulation, she would form a makeshift bed to keep him from engaging in any movement that might make his condition worse. Placing in a phone call to have them escorted to a hospital, Natasha would turn to him as she sat down.

"So... mind fillin' me in on what happened? I only have like a bare-bone idea based on what everyone' keeps tellin' me. Somethin' bout' an arrancar who just waltzed in and started haulin' ass, pickin' on us' while we're tryin' to live honest lives'."

Natasha wasn't trying to trivialize this by any degree, but she certainly wanted to bring a bit of laughter to the big guy's day.

"Now, now, tiger. Can't go talkin' bout fuckin' me till ya' take me to dinner first," A quip in return for his mild annoyance at her somewhat insensitive attempt at humor moments ago. It was justified, to be sure. At the very least, she could tell Kokuto really cared about his comrades. Those were the guys to keep around. True soldiers who held some form of kinship for their fellow men. Observing him shifting around on the bed, Natasha formed a chair of reishi and sat beside him. It would take a few minutes for the medics to arrive and take them elsewhere. Might as well pass the time with some conversation, right?

"Heh, yeah, and yer' gonna lie down and take it, big guy. Anyway..."

According to him, he didn't know anything more than she did. He fought him, but it seemed that whoever this freak was, he must have kept mum about whatever he came here for. She didn't expect that, either. This wasn't like those Saturday morning cartoons were the villains simply went on a tangent about their impeccable plans.

"Sheesh... and I here I was thinkin' I could get more knowledge about this' monstrosity'. I guess that's probably for the best, honestly. By the looks of it, ya' all put up the best fight ya' could. M'sorry I couldn't be here to make a difference, but I commend ya' for lookin' out for yer peers, Kokuto."

She'd ruffle his hair, gazing toward the sun, contemplating her next words. This really was a wild' sequence of events she hardly saw coming. Still, at least the worst case scenario hadn't come to pass. Her peers were still alive.

"Ya' did the best ya' could with what ya were given'. Hell, I certainly wish I could've been here to be o' service to you guys, too. The harsh truth of the matter is'... he was too strong for any of us' to face him. I asked about it, and most of the soldiers' who tried to keep the city from bein' leveled pretty much told me I wouldn't have added much outside of a couple gun wounds and a light distraction'. Bastard' was that relentless. I ain't much of a woman' to judge a man' for goin' for what he wants, but christ... at the cost of innocent people? The nerve of some people, I swear."

A Texan-accented mouthful, to be sure, but the urge to rant on the matter simply couldn't be ignored. Natasha was no fortune teller, but she certainly didn't expect an Arrancar to come out of nowhere and nearly lay waste to the place she'd grown fond of over the past year. Sighing softly, she turned towards him with a warm smile, gazing toward the medical team of quincy heading towards them. She could humor him for a bit. There was no place that required her immediate attention.

"Sure, I'll keep ya' company darlin'. My company's such a delight that you'll probably be healed up in no time."
