Re: Sight Is Relative [Yuel/Hannah]

YUEL DUULHEIM
Now that was a difficult thing to fix. If Hannah simply fundamentally considered herself blind, not as an attribute but simply as a facet of her very being, then it was unlikely that her eyesight would return. In Yuel's eyes, this went beyond just accepting it--maybe embracing it? Well, good for her if that was the case? Yuel couldn't ever relate--her sense of sight was far too important a tool. How could she bear to even live without it! Speaking, of...
"Wait, so how do you go about doing stuff? The way you move and interact with things certainly seems like you can see. Is it a sort of sonar thing? You have such a keen sense of hearing and--oh, actually, it's probably spiritual sensing, huh? Like, an arrancar's pesquisa, but just super developed into being able to use in conjunction with fine motor skills? Fascinating, that must be a product of such an expert degree of energy control!"
And back to her rapid speech she went. Yuel walked on over in the meantime to help Hannah with the broken ceramic, generally unperturbed by it. Deep down, perhaps it was a total fantasy of overthinking, but Yuel figured that it might've been a freudian slip of Hannah's superego. Perhaps a reflection of her unadmitted dissatisfaction, or a cautiousness to showing vulnerability. Or maybe it was nothing at all.
"If it was something like that, I could understand not caring tooo much about not having eyesight. In a way, a sonar system--though it has its limitations, but I mean eyesight has its limitations too--gives you a boost in terms of spatial awareness? Like, 3D vision, and with spiritual sensing probably even better than 3D vision. Can you 'see' colour with that? Can you effectively use the computers and stuff we have on hand? Do you not want your sight back?"

Without saying a word, she would simply wrap her sonar energy around Yuel to a much higher definition than she usually had. The energy surrounded most people, but was airy and gentle to avoid discomfort. Now, however, it was like being wrapped up in an all to snug blanket.
"Sonar is correct, yes. It took me about eight or nine months to develop. After the six or seven it took to get out of my morose mindset to begin with" she'd state, holding her hand over the cup she had cracked and healing it of it's 'wounds'. Letting the Sonar ease up again, she'd giving a smile to Yuel, who was getting super enthused again.
"The panoramic vision does have it's advantages, yes. And I can spread it very far to track people. At that distance it's more like roughly people-sized objects that move, but it's good. It's how I found you, in fact. Despite your exceptional technique of ducking behind walls when you thought someone might be looking"
Now that she had bust the cup once, she decided to just play with it, slicing it in half with a focused blast of air, and putting it back together with a glimmer of Gen-Kido.
"I can't see colours, and I can use computers, though I need audio dictation to read the screen. I tried developing a Kido that allowed me to read the electrons on the screen, but apparently that was too far to stretch my powers"

YUEL DUULHEIM
Just as she surmised, just as usual! Sonar, a fantastic use to replace a lack of eyesight. Not that it was something never to be done before, but it was just unusual for a shinigami to do it. Which brought up the question--were arrancar just naturally predisposed to spiritual sensing in this manner? What was innate about an arrancar to do something of that nature? Or was it not innate at all, but simply something passed down between arrancar in an almost sociocultural manner? That seemed unlikely, given the way arrancar commonly socialised at all in Hueco Mundo--which was to say, not really at all. How does she do it precisely, anyways?
Yuel closed her eyes while feeling the blanket around her. Spiritual sensing, especially to that degree, was not of Yuel's forte. It was, however, in her means to analyse something she was experiencing in this manner. The fundamental breakdown was, as it seemed, a pulse of energy sent out and maintaining in knowledgeable relation to the energy source. Maybe the bounce back wasn't anything but a specification of dimension, a secondary confirmation of the surroundings. Provided she could simply feel what was around her without the bounceback to ascertain, wouldn't it be possible in theory to simply do this without the bounceback at all? At that point, it was more like radar, reading information and estimations without the returning feedback.
With her eyes closed, Yuel conjured her mindscape. She imagined the whole world of people in her mindscape, and focused on the means in which they were all tethered down. Everything. Necessarily, the tethering meant she needed awareness of each and every 'thing' within the mindscape to tether it down. It stood to reason, in manifesting that tethering to the outside world with her will, and applying this 'gravitational insertion' on the real world, whatever was in her range of effect was necessarily privy to her understanding, right?
Right. And that's exactly what happened. Yuel could, in similar respects to Hannah's sonar, establish a whole, three dimensional cognisance of her surroundings, the whole of Hannah's room, to perfection. Unfortunately, that sort of exertion was exhausting. She wasn't capable of maintaining her Tulpa for too long. Yuel walked herself back to the seat and slumped straight into it, just in time for Hannah to reveal her expert detective skills.
"Wh-wha? You knew this whole time? Tch... what was the point of being cautious this entire time then. You should've approached me from the beginning so I didn't have to waste my sneaking around!"
Yuel threw her hands up in resigned dejection, offering a pout towards Hannah's way. Of course, Yuel wasn't the one to let a topic slip her mind and hands.
"You didn't answer my last question, though. Do you not want your vision back? Are you maybe scared of getting it back or something? Or maybe for some reason you feel you don't deserve your vision?"

"I found it amusing to watch you skulk like that. I have to get my fun somewhere, after all" Hannah replied, giggling softly. There was no more tea left and she didn't want to make a third, there was a limit on how much tea a person could drink in a short time. But then she asked if Hannah wanted her sight back, and gave some rather depressive reasons why she wouldn't.
"Maybe when I first lost it. Both desiring it and feeling very deep sadness about not deserving it. But these days I have overcome those thoughts of negativity. Honestly, getting my sight back isn't worth the effort, and if I do get it back, it would probably interfere with my new, superior sight. So I am fine with how I am"

In a way, Yuel could admire that sort of self-acceptance. It was better than moping around about it, at the least. That would've been a drag. Still, Yuel wasn't a fan of just giving up on Hannah's sight, or Hannah giving up on it either. Self-acceptance was nice, especially if it came from a place of self-love, but not if it came from a place of resignation, or the discomfort of tackling a effortful task. Nothing was easy in this world, but if you're competent enough, you can take it on in strides and success! That was a part of Yuel's belief.
The question was, how was Yuel going to get Hannah to want to see? This was a sort of emotional connection, an approach of pathos that simply wasn't Yuel's forte. She had ideas on the subject, but none of it seemed to click in her mind that it was surely the means to which she could convince Hannah to try and 'see the benefits'. So, of course, the best course of action would to do them all!
"Okiedokie, I have an idea, Hannah. Just go with me on this, it'll be fun!"
Yuel walked over to grab Hannah's hand and pull her along. Provided Hannah gave no resistance, Yuel would drag her over to one of the labs with large machinery in it. It seemed no upgrades or changes to the hardware were made in her absence, so it was more than easy to navigate and start up. Just a flick of a switch, a few button presses, and viola! A fully stable, nausea-free portal!
"I think this will be in Lux's formal world interests, so just think of going along with me as actual work and properly doing your job!"

"Sajō Sabaku"
It seemed Hannah was not joking about the Shibari, as the spiritual rope blossomed from the palm that Yuel grabbed and moved to wrap her up with an extreme speed. Not just wrapping around her and pulling tight either, but forcing her arms behind her back like an armbinder, and securing them against physical struggle with a full harness, including a rope where Yuel probably didn't want a rope at all.
"So first, I bruise easily so please don't just grab me like that. Second, I said I am fine with my current state of being. So please don't force me into something that you want to do. It is rude"
