Clear Heart, Clear Mind, Festival Time!(Calypso/Kenichi)

They had finally stepped foot onto Mount Everest where the festival was still quite active. There were many tents around and many other activities one could engage in. Kenichi would quickly pull some money from his pocket to buy a coat from a shop before returning towards Calypso. Fighting and eating were the joys of Kenichi's adventurous life. Baby making didn't seem like it was a legitimate option, however.. Climbing for the crane, though? That had piqued his interest. And so, he would inquire about that.

"A great meal and a great fight does my body right," he'd quip with a playful chuckle before flexing his arms. "What do you mean when you say climbing for the Crane, though? Is that some sort of contest people engage in here?"

A martial arts tournament hosted to decide the order of who could climb the mountain and attain a prize. The brown-haired martial artist wondered why a spooky wooden crow was the prize amidst most things but he was not one to question tradition. He was immediately intrigued and turned to Kenichi with a curious gaze in his eyes. Would she participate or go elsewhere? Kenichi had aimed to show her a good time but, then, she seemed to be a woman who knew this festival better than he did. Where would she go from him here? It would be two days until the event started, so there was no rush.

"Huh... Well, I'd certainly like to participate but it isn't until two days, so I suppose we can humor ourselves with other things until then. Where would you like to go first? Anything here in particular to catch your eye so far?"

The name Xian Naku was a familiar one. The Shameless Deviant would be participating? Ho! The other names weren't readily as familiar as the first but the way Calypso mentioned Ren Hakusho certainly filled the young man's veins with the competitive nature of a man who wanted to impress a girl. Ren hakusho kicking his ass? Ha! He'd show her. To be certain, he hadn't envisioned fighting or engaging in any form of combat, even if the names mentioned and the challenge filled him with boundless excitement. Still, the festival was meant to be enjoyed and enjoy he would.

"Xian Naku? Here? Joy! I'd certainly be honored to lose to her. That said, now that you've mentioned Ren, I think my competitive juices are flowing. What's his whole deal about?"

Kenichi chuckled at Calypso's commentary, even if it was meant to be taken seriously. From the many tales he had hear, Xian Naku's infamous title of shameless deviant was no mere title - one could liken it to a firmly established perception. Kenichi would listen to Calypso in silence, stroking his chin in amusement. To take a strike from a martial artist as mighty as Mirja was no small feat. For all his machoism and bravado, he was uncertain he'd overcome a man with such an endurance at his current level.

"I would venture as to why he's decided to join this year but there aren't any complaints on my end. Well, here's to hoping I'll win you over enough to cheer me on." It was a small jest. She was free to cheer on anyone she so desired.

"In any case, I'm gonna go grab a bite to eat and look into entering this contest while you wander around."

Kenichi would be pulled away immediately as the idea of food interested her a great deal. Unexpected though it was, Kenichi was never one to turn down an opportunity to spend time with Calypso. He wasn't entirely prepared to start fighting anyone, either. He had spent a few days on his legs to get here. Some of that power needed to be recovered, from the torque of his hips to generating sufficient force behind his kick or his punches. Intro martial artists didn't understand how much the entire body played a part in one's techniques.

"Of course! I'm not one to reject a meal. I still do have quite the appetite that's been built up after our travels."
