Bad Sword and Down Bad Sword [Alastor, Murasaki]

Well, she'd thought it out at least though. Actually she gave him nothing to work with here in the way of why she had wanted to choose Elyss though take the captain, vice-captain and all that out. Third seat was the highest authority so maybe it made sense. Eh, whatever. He'd just take it as it came. Not much ado about nothing.

"Vice-Captain? Me? Pfft. Yeah right, doubt she'll want to hear a lick of me anymore than she has to."

He said confidently, though it did become more realistic as he remembered her breaking down that one time over drinks and wanting to know if people thought bad of her and how he told it to her straight. Ugh, emotions and crap were such a pain to deal with.

"Anyway, yeah. Go for your life I say given that I can't see any other options."

A shrug and a sip of his tea while he thought about it a bit more.

"I don't really see much either, if I'm bein' honest. But that doesn't mean I'm just picking Elyss 'cause she's all we've got, don't get me wrong. She's pretty impulsive, yeah, kinda does what she thinks is best in the moment. Reminds me of me, really."

Murasaki shrugged at that, not especially bothered by the equally apparent differences between herself and Elyss. Yeah, she was something of a problem child, but that was fine in her eyes. And, besides, it wasn't like she hadn't been growing.

"Honestly, though, I think she's smart, and I think what she's got that a lot of other people don't is just how familiar she is with Earth. She's...well, you know how she is. She's not always super great with people, but that works out pretty well for Earth Affiliation, ya know? I was out in the field for months all the time. Maybe that'd be good for her."

"Well that's fair, you are smarter than me."

He said shrugging, Alastor couldn't say he thought too hard about things. Work needs done, work gets done. Ask him to judge a character of another individual and he was left scratching his head. If they were an asshole, they were an asshole. Elyss was rough, he agreed there but he did know her well enough to know that she meant well and would be earnestly trying to improve.

Well, he liked to think.

"So Captain Kishimoto, got a ring to it I suppose. I've missed that smart noggin' of your's while getting my butt handed to me. Well, the head on your shoulders and everything else too."

He shifted his spot and went back to sipping his tea, still getting used to the new size of his zanpakuto that he opted to keep on his back when he wasn't looking to readily use it. Makes sense a pain in the ass would be inconvenient to keep at the hip like he used to be able to get away with.

Grinning to herself at all his flattery, Murasaki crossed one leg over the other, making a bit of a show of it just for Alastor. She wouldn't dare to just tease him, of course, but she figured he'd enjoy that.

"Oh yeah? Well I am a pretty smart girl, you know. I'd have to be to pick such good captains, and such a good boyfriend. I'm just about finished up for the day, you wanna walk me home? I've got new quarters, you definitely oughta see 'em."

Of course, while there was the quite transparent deeper meaning behind that, Murasaki was also the sort of girl who very legitimately just wanted to show her boyfriend her new living space. It was certainly bigger, even if she was a girl of modest means. Well, if nothing else, she finally had space for all her knick-knacks and mementos.

He knew what she was doing and it only made him want her all the more after being deprived for so long of her. The things were far from pure and if he had his way that desk would be what she was over but a guy had to have a bit of discipline you know? Couldn't just be that straightforward about it could he?

"Of course I do, as long as seeing more of you is included in that... captain commander."

There was a smirk that came as he said it, hopefully it'd work her up just a little bit. In some ways he'd rather skip looking at the quarters entirely although maybe check them out after he was done with her. Nah, self-control. He could toss that away when they got to it like a candle burning down, that was his restraint.

"Oho, such a bold shinigami, making a request like that of your captain commander... Lucky you, I like that. Heheen~"

Murasaki slipped off of her desk as she said that, taking hold of his arm and holding herself close to him. His efforts had indeed been quite successful in getting her just a little bit warmer under the collar, but of course, she still wanted to spend some time with him that wasn't just in bed.

"I think you've already seen everything there is to see of me, you know, but I sure don't mind giving you a full refresher tour."

She led him out of the office, completely unconcerned with the notion that someone might see the captain commander with someone like this. After all, she was still Murasaki, and she was going to act the same as she always had. Not that it was too much of a concern anyway, seeing as her new quarters weren't terribly far. But they could enjoy the walk anyway.

"My girlfriend before my captain commander."

It was said in the form of a light-hearted retort but he was serious, in the same vein that he would go against someone of authority if he thought they were wrong and it didn't align with his beliefs it was just that. He did view her as his girlfriend over his captain, girlfriend over captain commander. Someone he cared for rather than someone he viewed as an authorative figure. Maybe that was the strongest authority she held over him.

"Course, don't know what tricks being captain commander might've taught you yanno?"

Was it a good joke? No, it was the best thing that he could force out hastily though while wrapping his arm around her waist to let her lead.

"Weeeeeell, I guess I'll allow that."

Giggling again, Murasaki picked up the pace of their little trip, honestly somewhat impatient now. Sure, she hadn't wanted to rush all this, but...well, it'd been a long time since she got to be with Alastor like this. She was allowed to be a little excitable, right?

"Oh, I've learned all sorts of new tricks, I'll have you know. But some of 'em I've gotta keep under wraps until the time's right. Girl can't go showing her whole hand, right?"

It wasn't a long walk to the official quarters she'd been assigned, and Murasaki grinned as she pushed through the large doors with a flourish. The place was, quite clearly, of a classically upper class Japanese style, with a large central room and more than a few other rooms to the side. Tatami lined the floor, and a breeze blew through the place from the wide open windows. Frankly, it was larger than most entire homes, but it was clear from all of the assorted Earth decor that Murasaki had already made it her own. Western furniture that clashed with the Eastern architecture, wall hangings and shelves that seemed almost strange. But, if nothing else, there was a continuity to it all, a sense that it was tied together simply by Murasaki's own style and experience.

"Sooooo? Whatcha think?"

The quick pace of Murasaki was admittedly something that he had to dedicate just a bit more effort in than he'd have liked, those long legs of her's and a natural inclination towards speed made the below 6 ft'er have to do a bit more to keep stride with her. Not like he'd just take the L though and hang back like a baby, nor would be complain.

"No point having anything cool if you don't get to show it off, I'd show off my shikai but she's not as cool as she thinks she is."

Alastor said it a little quieter towards the end like he was concerned that she'd hear him talking ill about her. Points to the back of his mind though as he had a look at what could be described as Murasaki's choice. If he were someone else he might comment on the clashing designs as being awful or perhaps revolutionary and daring but he was hardly that artistic or specialised.

"Looks pretty cool... Can't say it compares to you though."

Yeah.

That was smooth.

"Heheen, I guess that's pretty true."

Now, Murasaki was hardly the sort of girl to go weak in the knees over any old compliment, but she had to admit that it was nice hearing that sort of thing from Alastor again. It'd been a while since they'd seen each other, and man...he sure did look good, didn't he? Biting her lip, a coy grin crossing her face, she reached over to walk her fingers up his chest. It wasn't something she tended to do outside the bedroom, but hey, this was pretty much that.

"Oh yeah? Well, ya know, I think you look extra nice too... In fact, I feel like I really wanna see a little bit more. If you're willing to give me a tour, of course."

She wasn't any more smooth than he was, really, but she also hadn't especially tried to be with that one. Frankly, she was just feeling a certain kind of way now.
