Be Better [ Kokoko x Sol ]

Sol wasn’t happy.

No he wasn’t at all.

How he got put on bed rest for a small little mishap was beyond him, after all injuries came with the business! The worst of his injuries were taken care of as evident by the bandages which seemed to cover his torso. It was a nasty encounter on Earth, one which could only be described as an ambush. And that alone boiled his blood, getting caught on the back foot like that.

So he sat around one of the camp fires, a half burnt out cigarette in his hand. His grey irises staring at the flames with some mild displeasure. It was only the sound of someone calling out his name which brought him out of his thoughts. Some girl it looked like, who looked entirely out of their depths within the squad. With a quick flick of his fingers, he’d launch the cigarette into the fire as he raised an arm in the air with a small wince.

“Yo, that’s me.” He’d call out, his brow furrowing on what she could possibly want with him. "What can I do for you?"

“Not really sure, who did it.”

It was pretty difficult for him to recall which person or another did his bandages, considering how long ago it was. But they didn’t often give their names out, hell this woman hadn’t even introduced herself yet. So with that he’d lean back as she began to work on the bandages across his midsection. It revealed a nasty, but superficial slash which ran the length of his abs and into his chest.

“Earth’s pretty nice, I definitely miss it more often than not. Foods has a bit- ow- more variety.” He’d comment as he shifted placing a hand on his head, moving his long hair a bit. His eyes would wander elsewhere. The changing of his bandages where uncomfortable, but he had definitely grown used to being patched up.

“What is your name?”

"Bout' a five on the pain scale. Nuthin' unbearable besides the usual tenderness."

Sol was no greenhorn when it came to injuries, having sustained a fair portion his entire life. But it was nice to be cared for, it was a luxury he lacked at times. With a slight shift in his positioning, he'd take note of the concern in her voice. Well that's good at least, to have someone who was actually serious about their job. He'd bring a tattoo'd hand up to his chin as he scratched at it lightly.

"Nice to meet you, Kokoko. Most people call me Sol."

As she applied the healing salve, he only gave a slight wince to the pain. It was to be expected from her touching the tender area, his core flexing in response as he did a slow intake of breath. For the most part it was bearable, familiar pain that he had dealt with before. He let her do her work, listening to her as she explained the process to him.

It didn’t sound overly complicated, and if anything seemed beneficial in the long run. The natural progression of healing would certainly help make him stronger, and he was by no means weak. “I’ll remember that. Nice to meet you too. Wish it was under better circumstances.” The man would remark with a slight grimace, only slightly in pain.

“So how long will I be laid up? Any restrictions on my activites?”

“I’m here, and it isn’t, so I think not well.”

Sol would offer a grim chuckle as he adjusted to sit up, a pained grimace on his face as he got upwards. She seemed nice enough if a bit of a hard ass when it came to this medical stuff, but he understood why. After all when the entirety of the Gotei was filled with wannabee legends and crazy mother fuckers like Liana Unohana it tended to have a gross amount of injured people. Thankfully, Sol didn’t count himself among them.

“Any other stuff? Surprise I haven’t seen you when I swing by your division. I sometimes get some training from your Captain funny enough.”

He left out the part about her nearly killing multiple times. Best not to taint the perception she tried to cultivate. Psychopathic baddie.
