Personality:
Castellan is a highly intelligent individual who is also calm, sophisticated, and arrogant. He has been able to overcome his grief by dedicating his life to the death of the Hollows. He has also distanced himself from humanity, seeing them merely as means to an end, and believing that one must not hesitate to commit evil in order to destroy greater evil. Castellan is a brilliant sociopath whose tactical genius, killer instinct, and powerful charisma pose a major threat to Hueco Mundo and the residents of Los Noches.

While in battle Castellan can be ruthless and often merciless, at home he can be a rather compassionate person to his friends and loved ones, even though it's been a while since he's had either. Though he is smart, his major talent has been to put himself in the middle of turmoil and seize opportunities without hesitation. This may have something to do with his slow descent into madness. By doing the unpredictable, he has managed to keep the considerable power of the Hollows at bay, and win against all odds.

Power Development Stage 1 Abilities:

Castellan has the ability to read "the lines of the future", functionally identical to precognition. This allows him to see a few seconds into the future. With this gift, he is also able to accurately identify the positions of targets within a given range and precise calculate their probable movement trajectories based on all known variables; this is achieved due to the ability augmenting his powers of reasoning and intellegence.

Power Development Stage 2 Appearance: Castellan's sclera turn black and his iris' emit a faint glow.

Power Development Stage 2 Abilities:
The Seal of Absolute Suspension
Castellan's ability grants him the ability to temporarily suspend the subjective experience of time for all individuals within a given sphere of influence, effectively paralyzing anyone within its area of effect. The ability does not require eye contact, and can be used on multiple people at once. The weakness of this is that his mental capacities deteriorate at a rapid rate, effectively pushing him closer to the brink of madness, limiting its activation to short bursts. Larger numbers of people are more difficult for him to stop, and he is also unable to stop inanimate objects or physical phenomena such as speed and momentum.



Background:

Castellan's life was nearly brought to a screeching halt on the day his mother died. They had just come from the boy's fencing match when suddenly his mother had a hole in her chest and she was bleeding profusely. Looking up, the boy noticed a shadowy outline standing nearby, and took off running for his life. Ashamed, he tried to go back only to find that the creature was hunting him.

He fled, looking back every so often to notice that the creature was becoming less shadowy and more clear, which was much more frightening when gazing into the rage-filled eyes within the skull-white mask. Finally unable to continue running, he turned and closed his eyes, waiting for the worst. After a few seconds of nothing, he dared a peek to see all of his surroundings enclosed by a strange blue light, and it appeared to be freezing everything; the monster behind him, birds in mid-flight, even humans down below were frozen by this blue light. Castellan soon found out, via a headache, that he was responsible for the time pausing, and he took advantage of it and ran to his house as fast as he could.

At his home, the boy took his late father's sword from the mantle above the fireplace, a few sets of clothes in his backpack, and ran off just as the blue light shattered and time resumed. Since then, Castellan has been training himself in the usage of his newfound powers and hunting the Hollows, in a hollow attempt to get revenge on them for stealing his mother from him.

Roleplay Sample:
Alexander knew that many of his 'contemporaries' couldnt stand him. That even extended to council meetings. They would argue and debate amongst each other, and Alex would sit, bored, until they asked him for the final verdict on the issue. He would yawn and decide that whoever had the most supporters was right in the matter.

They openly disrespected him, and treated him like an enemy. But there was always an undercurrent of fear. Those who ever witnessed him in the grip of passion strived to stay on his better side. The thing about it was none of the Council had seen that. So Alexander sat at the head of the table, nursing his wounded ego, holding a worthless title, and mourning over his losses when Devereaux began his tale.


Devereaux stood on Alexander's right side, and looked out solumnly at the assembled group. He thought about an elaborate, tasteful delvery, before discarding it. The only reason he would beat around the bush would be to reassure himself and his friend. That wasnt the purpose. He leaned an arm on the table and freaked everyone out with his signature grin.

"All of those assembled, you have alot on your plate, I'm sure. But what I have to say in the next second will allow you to prove to your people what qualifies you for your office."

Devereaux stood up straight and gave an even bigger smile.

"I am no longer Minister of Lycan Relations......They have declared war."
