Roll With It [Rafaela, Alastor]

Contrary to Alastor's assumptions, Rafaela didn't really relish standing this close to her traveling partner. That wasn't to say she minded, given it was part of the disguise, but she wasn't the sort to throw herself onto a handsome guy.

"Hey, that's just how these things go. His Majesty wants something done right, he sends me. Wouldn't be a knight otherwise, and one of the first he ever picked. Pretty impressive, I know."

Her cocky grin only grew more as she said that, though she toned it back shortly after simply to maintain the illusion of being...well, anyone other than Rafaela Leone. Her pride and bombast had certainly made her something of a known entity in this part of the world, and while changing her appearance to something less common for her, the attitude would be just as much of a giveaway.

"Sure is."

On one hand he was going to call her 'squirt', the larger than life energy packed into this little shortstack made for a contradictory combo which he can't say he didn't dislike. It was pretty cute if anything, though he had a feeling that if he called her cute she probably wouldn't take it as well. She had far too much spunk to being compared to a small animal in terms of 'cute'. At least, that's what he thought.

"So Ms. Big Deal. I'll just keep to the sidelines and let you handle everything, huh? You know, if the bad guys catch us which I have no idea who they might be or what to expect from them."

"Wow, offering to escort the lady across the country, and then letting her do all the hard work? You're lucky I'm good enough to handle that part, big guy, or I might feel a little shortchanged."

Of course, she wouldn't have actually minded keeping this guy safe if something put them in danger. He was putting himself pretty at risk just traveling with her, so the least Rafaela could do was make sure he didn't get hurt. She was a lot of things, but careless wasn't one of them.

"I do better when I'm on my own, anyway. Gives me a little more opportunity to show off the big guns, you know how it goes."

"Says the little lady that's stingy on the details, how am I supposed to protect ya from guys I have no idea who they work for or what they might be packing? I think I'm the shortchanged one here, shorty."

He mused, trying just a little to get a bit more of the details out of her and paint himself a neat little picture. Sure, maybe it wasn't the most important thing since the Gotei were more focused on the whole spiritual cycle thing but Alastor did have stuff he cared about down here and so if something was screwing with Europe then he was always happy to make it his business.

"No point showing off the big guns if no one's able to watch, huh?"
