Personality:
Charming
Zarot has a way with words, able to twist them when he wishes and let them play on their own when he doesn’t. He will compliment when he feels like it, and generally enjoys conversation with those that will have it with him. There is an air about him though that keeps people at arm’s length; those that know who and what he is know what that air is. His elegant words and formed phrases lead down to the pits of hell themselves.
Confident
Zarot has an air of confidence and power about him. This manifests as a relaxed attitude despite the mood in a room or the people present. He almost always has a slight smirk on his face and a light laugh in his throat. Intimidation is not something he experiences, though he knows when he’s met someone strong than himself. Even in that situation, he conducts himself with confidence and finesse.
Sarcastic/Witty
Zarot possesses a sarcastic streak as long and deep as Hell’s circles and then some. He keeps this under control for the most part, though it slips every now and then. In general, his speech shows his control over language. He is careful with his words at times and callous when he feels like it. Words are his preferred method of communication as opposed to blows. For all his power, he prefers to use words to bring down those that would call themselves his enemy. For all his sarcasm and wit, Zarot can be intimidating when he chooses, which is not often.
Intelligent
Behind all the fancy words and confident airs, Zarot has a keen mind that never ceases to work. It is from this mind that dark schemes and plans arise, hidden behind laughter and sarcastic jokes. He has goals to meet, after all, and he will stop at nothing to attain those goals. Some believe him simple or even dumb; these are the people that don’t last long as they underestimate and belittle him while the coils curl around them.
Patient
Zarot is a patient being; he has survived longer than nearly any other being in existence, and he knows that as long as he plays the game with his brain instead of his ego he’ll be around far longer than most other beings to boot. As such, he has developed an incredible patience; given enough time even the barest of vines will bear fruit. His plans are not the type to come to fruition in mere days or week, in years or decades. Centuries and millennia have seen him stand still and observe before making a single move.
Devious
Zarot is a trickster by nature, but his joking mannerisms and outgoing appearance belittles the intellect that hides behind his crimson eyes. Whatever he says, he means something else; and it will ALWAYS be for his benefit in the end. Of course, it will not seem that way at first. Zarot has been alive for millennia after millennia, and he knows he will be around far beyond this time. He has all the time in the world to let his schemes and plots come to fruition. Those that would underestimate his intellect will find themselves on the wrong end when the proper time and place are reached.
Dangerous
All of these things spell out something obvious; Zarot is a dangerous individual. He has plans that may include you one day, maybe even for years on, but eventually your usefulness will reach its end, and then you’ll be discarded like the piece of trash you really are. Those that would oppose him are removed quickly, and his plans continue on smoothly. Where other demons are the threat today, he is the looming threat of a hundred years in the future that will not think twice about removing you today.

B A C K G R O U N D
History
In the beginning, there was the universe and there was Touketsu. This time is a blur; a seamless state of being that nothing remembers. However, slowly, Touketsu began to form a consciousness, and his great and terrible power began to manifest. Eventually, he would separate himself from the universe and forge Demon World, a dimension all its own. Such was Touketsu’s power that, unbeknownst to him at first, his shadow began to take on a sentience and sapience all its own. However, it was powerless to do anything other than exist for now. Slowly, it began to leech off of Touketsu’s power; power that radiated as the demon god set to work. While Touketsu would set about creating the rest of demon kind, the second demon was born before Touketsu even knew he had created it. Wherever Touketsu went, his shadow followed, and observed.
His shadow made its first move when Touketsu attempted to merge with Death’s physical body. During the process, Touketsu’s shadow suddenly sprang forth, siphoning just a piece of the nearly infinite power the demon god and Death possessed. With that power, a new being was revealed to creation; Zarot. Zarot took the power he had stolen, and fled to the dimension between creation and nothingness; into the shadows of creation itself. And there, Zarot nursed his own powers, and began to raise an army of his own. For Zarot knew that Touketsu would fail in his attempt to merge with death; he may have failed because of Zarot’s interference for that matter. Zarot was born with the same hunger as the being to whom he was but a shadow; he lusted and hungered for dominion over all things, and for power infinite.
When Touketsu found him though, things had changed. Zarot sat on a throne of shadows and souls, awaiting the demon god’s arrival. The army that Zarot had built he had laid waste to himself. For he had come to the conclusion that he could not obtain the power he sought on his own; he needed the rest of Touketsu’s power. He was incapable of uniting with Death’s physical body, as he was not truly a physical being, but a being given physical form by the power of Touketsu that he had stolen. Essentially, Zarot had been put in check in this game of cosmic chess from the moment he had come into existence. So, Zarot played a gamble, and simply awaited the arrival of Touketsu. The Demon God banished him to an inescapable realm, unsure what kinds of ramifications banishing his own shadow would have. In addition, keeping it around held other uses should something happen.
Something did happen, millions of years later. Touketsu was captured and sealed, and when he was the seal on Zarot’s prison as weakened just slightly. More than enough to permit the shadows escape; and thus he was released back upon the world once more. But he was out of the loop now, and things had drastically changed. He nearly a hundred years simply observing the workings of the world he now found himself apart of before he acted. And when he did, it was a strange play; he went to Sin Fall, the organization that Touketsu had created, and opted to join it. He convinced them that he could get them the information they wanted, and provided his proof in the form of the head of the previous Archduke of the Eighth Circle. He had plans alright, and only he knew what they were and how to play them out now. The game had begun once more.

Natural Abilities:
Za Koa Skill:Natural Abilities:
Za Koa skill is how much skill your character possess to manipulate the energy from the core. Typically, this should be your strongest asset when it comes to the skill sheet. The higher your mastery of this ability, the more techniques you are able to create, use and share.
Spells/Summoning:
Thanks to Za Koa, you are able to conjure up a wide variety of demon spells, summonings and magic. You can choose to create your own techniques, or choose from a list of pre-approved abilities. The choice is up to you. Though, with each spell/summoning you use, you must make a small prayer to Za Koa or Touketsu himself in order for it to work. It can be as long or as short as you want, but be sure to mention Zak Koa or Touketsu.
Akuma Kyōdo:
Thanks to the full body seal most demon's have on their bodies from birth, Akuma Kyōdo gives most Demon's a layer of defensive skin that is similar to an Arrancar's Hierro. This will be general defense, though if have a high Za Koa Skill, you can temporarily double your defense. Masters can do it for ten post, Advanced for seven, adept for four and beginners for two. All come with a three post cooldown.
Jigoku Sokudo:
Finally you have the Demon's Flash Step, Jigoku Sokudo. From the seals on your legs and feet, you will be able to give yourself temporary boost of intense speed. Masters and advanced can be in an extended state of intense speed for 2-3 post's with a three post cooldown. Don't fret, though. If you are near a shadow area or it's nighttime, your speed will increase greatly as the seals will guide you through the darkness. In some cases, it will even do the fighting for you if you cannot see.
Shifting Forms:
Another ability demons have, should you choose to accept, is that they can create different forms to sneak into the human world in or other dimensions. This a basic demon almost every demon can use.
Bōru Shi:
Bōru Shi is a massive burst of destructive energy a demon can unleash if they have Adept or higher on Za Koa. It starts by gathering energy from Za Koa, The Demon's Blood and any type of darkness. From there, it will form into a ball of darkness that can be used to unleash serious damage upon anything it hits; Resulting in a black explosion. And thanks to Demon Spells, there are multiple varieties, advanced and powerful versions of this move.
Unique Abilities:
Dimensional Shadow WalkZarot has the ability to literally step through different dimensions though a single dimension which he uses as both a hub and his central base of operations other than Demon World; the Realm of Shadows. From this realm, he is able to make his way to most every other dimension given enough time, and provided shadows exist in that realm.
Shadow Step
A weaker variation of the Dimensional Shadow Walk, this ability allows Zarot to step from one shadow to another instantly. He uses this as opposed to Jigoku Sokudo normally.
Form of Shadows
Zarot can shift to a form where his body becomes pure shadows. While in this form, he is unable to attack unless he solidifies his body once more, at which point he must wait one post before he can turn back into his shadow form. While in Shadow Form, he cannot be attacked by normal means, his energy signature is near zero, he is not subject to normal barriers such as walls or doors, or barriers that aim to stop spiritual beings. However, he cannot assume this form in a place where shadows cannot exist. He is still subject barriers that lock off the space from the dimension (such as Negacion).
Biting Shadows
While Zarot prefers to not fight when he can, he is capable of doing so; this is his main combat ability when it comes to one on one fighting. He is able to meld shadows into solid forms, and use them as weapons or defenses. He is only able to manipulate shadows within twenty feet of himself. It’s worth noting here that Zarot possesses and casts no shadow, as he is nothing more than a shadow given solid form. He is able to manipulate his own body through this technique, though he typically doesn’t as its taxing to re-solidify his own body. He is able to create any physical object that he could hold, though they only hold their form as long as they remain within the twenty foot radius. He is also able to create shadow spikes that can extend up to that same twenty foot range laterally. There is no limit on how high up the shadows can extend.
Shadow Portal
Zarot is able to create a portal to the Realm of Shadows. He can spawn only one portal at a time, and only those who he wills are able to follow him through them. At this level, the portals take two seconds to fully open and allow passage.
Reflection of Touketsu
Thought he “physical” connection between Zarot and Touketsu has been severed, he is still the Demon God’s shadow and as such has a few perks. Specifically, Zarot is able to eschew the chant most demons must utter to utilize Za Koa. Also, he knows most of the demon spells that Touketsu created along with a few of his own. He does not know spells created by other demons.

Hungering Shadows
This ability replaces Biting Shadows in Shishi Mōdo, but functionally acts like it. The range on the abilities increases to one hundred feet. In addition though, in this form the shadows actually swirl slowly around Zarot. They seem to have taken on a life of there own at this point, and strike out at nearby enemies at Zarot’s will. These shadows form maws and lunge at enemies, in an attempt to devour them. This has a specific purpose to it; enemies who are devoured by this ability aid Zarot in a sense. In devouring enemies, Zarot takes on their shadows and a fraction of their power; he gains no abilities through this power, and the energy can only be used to heal his own wounds. If he has suffered no wounds thus far, then he simply stores the energy away until such a time that he does require the energy. This energy dissipates once Zarot leaves Shishi Mōdo.
Army of Shadows
Zarot may be a competent fighter on his own, but it is not his preferred method of combat in the end. He prefers to sit back and see his opponent’s strength, to test them and then to deal with the opponent that peaks his interest the most. This technique allows him to do exactly that as he mocks Touketsu’s creation of the demon race with this ability. At its least powerful, Zarot creates a single Lesser Shadow Demon to serve him for the duration of Shishi Mōdo or until its destroyed. At its most, he can summon a squad of a dozen such creatures with the same stipulation. These demons are incapable of leaving the area of his Hungering Shadows ability. Statistics for Lesser Shadow Demons are given below.
Grasping Shadows
Zarot spawns an area centered on him roughly fifty feet in diameter. The area is a large circle of deep pitch that looks as though smoke is obscuring all details on the ground, rather than the shadows that normally just slither over the ground. The area serves two distinct purposes:
1)
- The area spawns shadowy arms, thousands of them that grasp, claw, and try to hold creatures fast to the ground so that they might be dealt with quickly. Each of these arms can extend up to five feet from the ground.
2)
- To amplify the strength of any shadow demons (other than Zarot) within the area of effect, effectively raising their strength by one tier (3-3 to 3-2) as long as they remain within the area of effect and on the ground.
Shadow’s Vengeance
Shadows hold a measure of sovereignty to the bodies which cast them. The sovereignty of shadows to living things is stronger than to inanimate objects; those shadows hold more power. One of Zarot’s strongest abilities is the ability to release that sovereignty of those shadows and animate them; these shadows are not happy either. This ability requires Zarot to make contact with the creature in question’s shadow, at which point he can release and animate it. The shadow solidifies into a physical being that mimics its originator in whatever state they were in at the time of this ability taking place. It is unable to use any of the releases of the original(Shikai, Bankai, Resureccion, etc) though it is able to use basic racial powers(low level kidou, cero/bala, etc). This shadow is only able to attack its originator, and only has half the strength of its originator to boot. Zarot is only able to create one of these at a time, and is unable to affect the shadows of people about tier 0-4.

Most of Zarot’s abilities receive upgrades, as listed below. Any abilities that are not mentioned below remain the same.
Form of Shadows
By shifting to Mukō Jōtai, Zarot’s body takes on a variation of the Form of Shadows ability at all times. He becomes partially insubstantial; attacks against him suffer a miss chance of 33% if they are targeted attacks. Attacks that cover an area are not subject to this. [Example]A cero as it flies at him suffers this miss chance, but not the explosion once the cero collides with something.
Zarot retains the ability to attack while in this form. His energy signature does not disappear unless he reverts fully to the Form of Shadows ability, at which point in this form he is unable to leave it and must retreat to the Realm of Shadows anyway. He is subject to spiritual barriers but not to normal ones such as walls.
Hungering Shadows
The range on this ability increases to its maximum distance of two hundred and fifty feet. The shadows now seem to have taken on full sentience; multitudes of glowing green eyes and jagged maws swirl about Zarot. The rest of the abilities of this ability remain the same.
Army of Shadows
Zarot retains the ability to summon Lesser Shadow Demons, though he is able to summon up to thirty of them in this form. He gains the ability to summon up to ten normal Shadow Demons or a trio of Greater Shadow Demons. He is only able to have 30 “points” worth of shadow demons on the field at any given time. Each Lesser Shadow Demon is worth 1, normal worth 3, greater worth 10. These all follow the same stipulations of the original ability.
Grasping Shadows
The range on this ability increases to a hundred foot diameter. Shadows that remain within the area (excluding Zarot) receive a tier bonus of two tiers (ex. 3-3 to 3-1). The rest of the ability remains unchanged.
Shadow Portals
Zarot is now able to summon up to three of these portals at a time, each taking up to half a second to fully materialize. He is able to now connect these portals to one another.
In addition to these changes, Zarot gains the following:
God of Shadow and Darkness
At this point, Zarot is a god of Darkness and Shadow. He is able to exist in a place with no light or shadow. He is no longer subject to shadow and darkness based abilities that would try to affect him.

Basic melee attacks. Also are capable of a blast of shadow energy once every five posts. This attack has roughly the strength of an adjuchas class hollow's cero. These creatures are capable of flight but must still remain within Zarot's range of influence.
Weaknesses:
Focused, direct light based attacks will eradicate them instantly. They are solidified, so they are also attackable through normal means.

Attacks/Abilities:
Powerful melee attacks. They are also able to fire off a blast of shadowy energy that is roughly the equivalent of an cero from an Espada of rank 8 or lower once every 3 posts. They are capable of flight and can move at the rate of an equivalent tiered character's shunpo or equivalent, but must remain within the range of Zarot's influence.
Weaknesses:
Focused, direct light based attacks will eradicate them instantly. They are solidified, so they are also attackable through normal means.
