Saisei | The King's Reawakening
"That's a simple answer, Ma'am. I won't let it reject me."
Saisei's words echoed in what felt like an infinite space between himself and his commander. Nothing could stop the boy's convictions, even death itself. If the grim reaper came for him he'd make his stance clear. Who could ever reject him? The Earth and it's people had no choice. No matter how hard they would fight, Saisei would stand silently in the aftermath. The young man wouldn't be denied the future he so clearly saw for himself and those around him. Nobody could stop such a force on this Earth, not even Helle herself.
Helle almost challenged the boy with her words. Saisei felt that, despite her clear approval, she knew better than to expect him to do great things in the immediate future. Not out of disrespect, but rather concern. Helle Armstrong wished to see her young recruit flourish in to something that couldn't be matched. Good for Helle that Saisei had planned that far ahead of time. For now, he would continue to face those who could wipe him from the face of the earth without question. Standing still wasn't an option for one with such grandiose expectations.
"Gladly."
Before he could be given the chance to hold his ground, the arena fell silent. As if a vacuum had formed, the reishi around the two began to swirl violently. Saisei couldn't help but become mesmerized by the sight before him. Helle's very energy brought colors that he rarely saw into the limelight, her being expressing itself in it's fullest capacity. It was beautiful, even if short lived. As she took the form of near pure energy, Saisei braced himself. He believed his will could outlast that of even the Grim Reaper. Helle's blow was simply a beginning to him.
"Give me your w-"
The wind had been knocked out of the boy, his orange energy violently lashing outward as Helle left what felt like a scar on his very soul. Her hand had entered his very being, touched him at his deepest core and escape without an afterthought. A blow that could have rocked the island to it's core was instead meant for him. In the single moment, an infinite amount of thoughts flooded his system as he tried to process what had occurred. Orange hues oozed across his figure before, only a moment later, the boy's body was sent flying away.
Blood silently trickled down the boy's face, his arm and leg already in a shape unknown to man. Now, the blow Helle had dealt left him with a clear concussion and shattered ribs. In the quake of the dust brought up by the energy, Saisei's body lay limp and defeated in a corner of the room. Neatly packed like a bento box, the crumpled remains of the recruit seemed... well, alive. Frankly, anyone of his stature and strength being hit with such a blow should have left them dead, especially when not fighting back. Alas, however, God looked upon the boy with pity. Staring Death himself in the face had left Saisei with severely broken bones and shattered ribs, a small price to pay when playing with Death.
"Hngh..."
Saisei shifted left and right, trying to rock himself back to his feet. Each and every attempt failed, the boy's efforts clearly futile. He was defeated but his spirit remained. The will of Azure Iramasha lived on, even if by a single thread. The boy hoped Helle would understand his actions and efforts, he had hoped his superior would understand the fight that he wished to express so fondly. His emotions carried themselves through each and every action he made in hopes that Helle could truly understand. Saisei could only wish that Helle knew the true him at his very core now.
"Alright. I guess I was a little in over my head there, wasn't I? You win this time. Next time, I won't g-go so easy on you Ma'am. I refuse to.."
As soon as he uttered his final words, Saisei silently passed out. Looking like a corpse, several Vandenreich members rushed into the building at the sense of Helle's attack going off. Shocked by the scene of events, they gently threw the newest recruit into their arms and moved about their day. After all, anything Helle did wasn't to be questioned, especially when taking part in a spar. Besides, it wasn't their fault that a boy had challenged his commander without questioning his strength. Helle Armstrong was strong, everyone knew that all too well.
Now, they knew the boy's will was even stronger.
