To say that Kimitsuki's spirits were higher than normal was quite an understatement; but still rather accurate thanks to how Kimitsuki had been more chipper than usual. After her trip to that forest, the one Kimi herself lived in once long ago, and how much closer herself and Hiroi had become; it was hard for Kimitsuki not to be quite joyful as she once more arrived home from work. She had a nice chunk of time off, time she requested a bit ago; to spend another weekend, or perhaps a bit more, with Hiroi. Sure, they spent most of their time together when Kimi was out of work; but more time to do the things they want to do is nice. With a whole free weekend ahead of herself, Kimitsuki was happy to return home and stretch her limbs; thankful to be home without too much pain in the day. When she arrived home, Kimitsuki went to task looking for Hiroi; both her roommate and a little bit more.

It could possibly be inappropriate to call Hiroi and Kimi a couple; but also it could be quite appropriate thanks to how the two interacted now. In the time between now and their trip to the forest, there had been far more physical affection; along with Kimitsuki probably giving Hiroi the most occasional kisses on the cheek. Every time, it was always received with a mixed reaction from Hiroi; and that was okay. However, today, Kimitsuki wanted to go somewhere with Hiroi; somewhere they could practice. Frankly, somewhere Kimitsuki could show Hiroi some things. After all, Kimitsuki wasn't always home, and she wanted to be sure that Hiroi would be safe if something happened; especially due to the fact that Kimitsuki always had a horrible wrenching feeling in her gut when she got it into her head that something could happen to Hiroi. However, she did understand that Hiroi could handle herself... But the girl being safer would put Kimitsuki at some ease.

Such reasons are why Kimitsuki came into the house, likely leaving her heeled boots at the door to flop onto the couch; relaxing a bit before she stood up and looked around for Hiroi. It was always interesting to find what the little demon had been up to in her time alone; especially when Kimi comes home to something as surprising as mid day dessert. Regardless, she looked around, calling out for the smaller demon she adored so.

"Heyyy Hiroiii~ You here?"

Kimitsuki may have been expecting to come home to something bizarre. Yet, there’s nothing out of the ordinary strangely enough. Kimitsuki during her moment of respite did not have the smaller Danava make her presence known. Actually, that alone should have warranted caution. Hiroi is known for greeting Kimitsuki near immediately when the redhead ever returns home before returning to whatever unorthodox activity that had captured the raven haired demon’s attention. There’s a good reason for this, and Kimitsuki will know of it shortly enough if she walks into the kitchen during her search for Hiroi.

Sitting at the dining table is none other than Hiroi herself, the short woman’s head in her crossed arms on the table’s surface. It becomes obvious, immediately, that Hiroi is asleep. The woman’s eyes are closed while her back rose and fell slowly with even deep breaths, a light snore slipping from her nostrils. Under her arms, there seems to be an opened book, its content still unknown for now. If one didn’t know Hiroi, they’d have thought the woman nothing more than a child, but there are small hints here and there of the Danava’s true ancient origin; the scales on her cheeks, her extraordinarily pale complexion, and the long waves of hair that lie around her person and the chair she sits on like a gothic curtain. Honestly, ever since that day in the woods, Hiroi has seemed to grow a bit, as if whatever had occurred within her that day had caused for a minor evolution to occur. Be it only a single inch or two added to her height with a bit more definition to her circular cherry-like face, it is a foreshadowing development that may lead to something strange in the future. Only time will tell.

Warmth. It was like an invasive parasite inside Hiroi’s core. Though, any moment of warmth for the Danava is seen as a good thing; especially when given to her by a certain redhead. The smaller woman stirred gently after those lips connected and left her cheek before a large, but content, sigh escaped from between her lips. Hiroi wasn’t dreaming for a long while, but now, her head is filled with sudden images of sweets and warm fire, a scene of her enjoying life within a small cottage playing through her mind. Of course, now having her dreams filled with food, drool began to dribble down her cheek onto the open pages of the book underneath her soaking its content. And, knowing how her body automatically creates a special acid made for breaking down loads of food at a time, the book is soon slowly melting underneath her.

As if anyone would notice such since Kimitsuki has gone off busying herself with cooking. This would, eventually, cause Hiroi to stir. As the scent of multiple delectables flowed into her nostril and tinge her tongue, much like a sleeping dog that had had a treat placed in front of its lazy nostrils, the smaller Danava began to stir more than before until red eyes opened. Though, Hiroi sat still at first, simply allowing for the delicious smells to dance within her mind. After a sudden dream about eating, actually eating felt too surreal. Of course, however, she knows exactly what is occurring in reality. Kimitsuki has returned, well, had returned. The scents in the air suggest that the redhead has been cooking for a while now.

Without much sound, Hiroi sat up and looked down after noticing the drool on her cheek. Oh, the book underneath her had not survived, multiple of its pages burned, soggy, and riddled with holes. Oops. Anyway, she’d hop out of her seat and make her way over to Kimitsuki. Mmm, how to greet the woman? How would Kimitsuki greet her in situations like these? Mmm… Hiroi quickly settled with something she has seen many people do, and soon, Kimitsuki would feel Hiroi’s arms wrapping around her. “Hello, Kimitsuki.”

“A dream cannot compare to the real thing.”

Now, what exactly does that mean? Eh, it’s probably comparing dream food to real food. Maybe Hiroi is talking about Kimitsuki as well. Dreaming about being warm, of course, does not compare to actually being warm too and Kimitsuki is her main source of warmth. Speaking of warmth, Hiroi’s face presses more into Kimitsuki’s back, ignoring the suggestion that they eat soon in favor of showing the redhead some affection. It is rare for Hiroi to display this much towards Kimitsuki but it does occur from time to time, though usually when Hiroi is somewhat out of it: waking up from a nap, exceedingly warm or stuffed, etc.

Though, Hiroi’s hunger does eventually win out, and the Danava of Hunger detached from Kimitsuki to move next to the other and look at the counter with the mass of food atop it. Hiroi’s redeyes widen somewhat with anticipation, but, instead of moving to take the food herself, she moves back to the table and grabs the ruined book, pushing it aside as she sits down again. “You may bring the food over.” She’d elaborate with a quick nod. She’s gained some manners, even if they’re barely applied.

Food, what an excellent invention. Ah, eating has always been Hiroi’s thing. Though, she can’t quite remember when she became addicted to it. Not knowing your point of origin or even what you ate back then is frustrating, but as long as she has something like the plates before her now, she is fine. Besides, if she was as gluttonous as she is today in the past, then that means that she probably ate uncooked meals or living and nonliving things. She can still eat all of that, but she has become spoiled by the taste of modern day meals; especially Kimitsuki’s cooking. It’s nothing special, when compared to professional chefs, but it’s all specifically for Hiroi which makes it the best.

Wasting little time after being told she can eat, Hiroi starts devouring the meals before her with ease. The ferocity of it all is wondrous and a bit gruesome to watch. One wouldn’t want to imagine the young Danava tearing into something living as she does with normal food. To make matters worse, her jaw had unhinged slightly with a soft pop as her saliva began to melt through the food to compensate for the mass of food she’s shoving into herself. Swallowing every now and then after chewing for a bit, slowly, but surely, Kimitsuki’s cooking began to dim in number. Though, it wasn’t until Hiroi could see Kimitsuki finally, after reducine the pile greatly, that she decided to slow down.

“Thank you for the meal.” She’d say before grabbing at her own jaw and pops it back into place without even a flinch.

A kiss? Lately, affection has become as normal as breathing between Hiroi and Kimitsuki. Though, the redhead is usually the one giving it. Hiroi seems content on simply receiving it, but she has her times where she is the one handing out something beyond her normal mute enjoyment of Kimitsuki’s actions. It’s only fair to give back what is given, yes? Hiroi cooks for Kimitsuki too. Just not as often as the other. It’s been a thought that’s been bothering the younger Danava for a while. She doesn’t really do much, does she? Kimitsuki leaves home everyday to go out and work. Hiroi simply stays around the house, left alone with her thoughts. Hiroi is taking far more than she is giving, but today she’s going to relay her thoughts better to her… friend? Girlfriend? Partner? Eh… Human terms are ridiculous.

Oh, that hug that just came out of nowhere. Yeah. That made Hiroi jump a little. She was in her head for a moment there, but the sudden invasion of warmth snapped her right out of it. Hiroi’s eyes quickly flicked themselves towards Kimitsuki in a questioning manner before the other began to speak. Well, it would seem they’re somewhat on the same wavelength today. Show her some things? What exactly has Hiroi curious. Though, this does leave room for her to speak her mind.

“Okay Kimitsuki. Hiroi was also going to ask Kimitsuki a bit about demons. Hiroi is a demon, but she lacks the powers that Kimitsuki has. Hiroi is curious. Let’s go.”

The prospect of learning a bit of something to defend herself is nice. Well, Hiroi didn’t want to learn to defend herself. She wants to learn so she can be of better use. Maybe join Kimitsuki with her tasks or something of the sorts. Whatever the case may be, Hiroi’s red eyes had a shine to them before the Danava would squirm her way from Kimitsuki’s grasp and make for the door. It seems she’s ready to head out.
