I. Personality

For the past 27 years, Amelia Palliser has been nothing short of a paragon of goodwill and kindness, the absolute peak of everything one might expect in a mother. None could ever meet this woman without calling her a saint, and it is quite likely that she would be called the most friendly mother of any in the neighborhood. Bringing friends over with no prior notice? Amelia surely took it in stride. Injuries? Of course she attended to them without any hesitation. By all accounts, she was the kindest of souls.

That wasn't a lie, per se, but by and large it is not her natural disposition. Amida Kenpachi was a violent woman for the vast majority of her life, a remorseless killer who would snuff someone out for no reason other than that they were annoying. While this has been tempered rather drastically by her years of time away from the role of Kenpachi, she is still a brash, loud, and generally quite rude woman when her true nature is not being covered up.

I. History

For the most part, there is little that really needs to be said about Amida's life. She was born within the 80th West District of the Rukongai, a slum among slums if ever there was one. From the earliest days in her life, she wanted nothing more than just a little bit of peace and quiet, and as the years passed, it became abundantly clear she wouldn't be getting any of that naturally. To that end, she simply took matters into her own hands, and began the long walk of violence that would eventually make her a Kenpachi. She would kill without restraint, beat anyone within an inche of their life without hesitation, all for the sake of just getting a little bit of peace.

Was it counterproductive? Yes, very much so in fact. But it was the only approach that she ever could have known in such a hellhole as that district of the Rukongai, and only when she was scouted for the Gotei 13 did she find at least a little bit of quiet. The barracks were a tremendous far cry from the slums, but still, every time she was sent on a mission was just more noise, more of a hassle. She wanted to live a quiet, peaceful life, nothing more.

And then...she found her out. A typical patrol on Earth, nothing impressive. A Hollow had gotten too out of control, and alerted a Quincy in the area to his rampage. She did not like that one bit, and after it was handled, Amida immediately swung for the Quincy. She expected to just cut him in two, but he dealt with her blow easily. It was more annoying than anything else, honestly, and she just wanted to go home and relax. Couldn't do that until she handled this guy, though.

One swing became two, two became four. Four became a whole fight, and soon it could hardly be measured in swings, but frankly only by hours. Did Amida really want to be fighting? Nope, not at all. That was too much work. So when she realized that he wasn't backing down, and neither was she, and that both of their outfits were just in tatters... Well, she decided they should just get out of here and do something more fun.

Turns out raising a family is pretty fun.

I. Racial Techniques/Abilities/Skills

» Out of Practice: At one time, Amida Kenpachi was, well, a Kenpachi. The skill and spiritual power required for such a thing are naturally immense, and Amida at one time possessed both in spades. However, her time seeking a new lease on life, and eventually as a full time mother, have left her more out of practice than one could even remotely begin to describe. Despite her once-tremendous power, she is now merely any other woman, though one who could feasibly train once more to her former strength.
