Ohana means Family (Keiko/Elyss)

Keiko’s reaction told Elyss everything. Yeah. Guess some would find it hard to believe at times. And, they’d be right. Elyss and Ulv aren’t actually related in that sense, but they have a connection that many don’t. To be honest, they’re not that alike, right? Elyss always tells herself that whenever Ulv does something the redhead has some issues with. Though, people all the time seem to remind her of their similarities at random when Elyss least expects it. Be it the words that come out of her mouth or how she acts at times, this just goes to show how being around someone can start to influence one’s own personality.

“Posters of Ulv? Greeeaaat…”

Elyss seemed rather enthusiastic that Keiko adored Ulv in such a manner and degree. Posters? There are actually posters of Ulv? She’s that famous? Really? Elyss doesn’t want to believe it, but she’s not about to go searching in Keiko’s bed. Who knows what those posters may have on them? Well, it’d be rude to think Keiko would have lewds of Ulv, but if the young Kuchiki has met Ulv already, then lewd images are the last thing she needs to worry about. Great. Now she’s stuck here answering questions about her adopted mother that she probably can’t even answer. She never dug that deep into Ulv’s personal life.

“Well, I guess if you want to ask something, ask away. I’ll try to answer.”

How old is Ulv? Elyss has never thought about that. Ulv just seemed older, but is she actually that old? Elyss’ face scrunched up a bit in thought as her head tilted. There’s no reason to lie or anything, so she simply told all she knew.

“Ulv seems like she’s really old, but to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s only in her 20’s or 30’s… She’s an odd one. Though, she did say she was connected to someone who died or something… A Mirja. I’ll have to ask her, I guess…”

She sighs and looks around the room again. This feels odd, being in here like this, her mind jumping here and there. She’s keeping it reigned in on Keiko, but it’s hard to ignore the constant pressure of her Zanpakuto that keeps pushing her troubling thoughts to the forefront.

“Anything else?”

How old is she? Elyss’s eyes flicked around and rolled in her head as she thought about that question. How old is she? When was the last time Elyss thought about her age? However, the answer popped up in her head as easily as her name did like when she had first opened her eyes in the Rukongai. Well, it didn’t seem correct however to her as if it were an old memory that should have changed by now, but knowing how Souls worked, Elyss simply agreed with herself that she simply doesn’t know her actual age because of everything that has occured to her. Thus, her answer to Keiko could be the truth or an unwillful lie, not like it changes anything to be honest.

“20…”

Now, hearing that Elyss is 20 while Ulv seems only 30 or so is rather confusing. Elyss, herself, doesn’t know about Ulv’s true origin, and both females would have shown shock at learning that Ulv is only like 3 years old due to the circumstances. However, they have their own moment to get through right now considering how out of whack the timeline seems. Maybe Elyss should explain things further.

“Oh, by the way, I’m not actually Ulv’s daughter. I’m adopted.”
