Within my Mind, I Become Death (Elyss/Masami)

From Soul Society back to Minatumi; a simple transition, but one that Elyss feels a bit nervous about. To simply put, she is coming to her second home to let it be known that she has made another massive life change again. First, it was joining Ulv, second, it was becoming a Shinigami, and now she has joined a division. All of this has happened in such a short span of time with her growing immensely in power and as a person. She has noticed that she is no longer the same angry woman she used to be and has mellowed out greatly. Though, she knows she has a lot of growing to do. While she is traveling, she couldn’t help but look down at her twin Zanpakuto.

She still remembers meeting that particular being within her mind and witnessing the fusion of Mirja’s foreign influence with her own power. The birth of her true Zanpakuto. The being within her mind is a rather strange individual, but that is to be expected due to Elyss’ own mental instabilities. The redhead knows she probably shouldn’t, but as she is walking, she begins to close her mind to the outside world focusing inwardly, until suddenly, she is walking in a whole different setting.

Her feet connect to hardened Earth as she is now in a Feudal style Japanese town. She can already see the massive castle that lies dormant in the center of this town and begins walking that way stepping past the white mannequin like humans around her. Still, she is unable to get past their blank faces and budding heads. How strange. And what happens when their heads bloom is even stranger. Though, she ignores the people around her as she continues onwards towards her Zanpakuto spirit.

There is never anything new around here. It may be a bit foolish for Elyss to enter into such a trance while traveling, but that’s just how bored she gets. Besides, she’s been making attempts to better understand her inner spirit, so she’s been using a lot of her free time to simply explore her inner world and such. Though, her attempts at bonding have not gone exceptionally well. Tenmarin has a stubborn that rivals her own when it comes to sticking to their ideals, and with their ideals clashing as they do, getting long proves to be somewhat difficult. However, it seems that Elyss has made some progress in becoming just a bit more of what her Zanpakuto desires, even if still a bit too charitable, and Elyss feels that maybe she can make some progress with her other self.

“Wait…”

That’s not one of the many faceless running about. That’s an actual woman. And this woman actually had the gall to ask Elyss what she is doing in her own inner world. Fair in a sense that Elyss should be focusing on walking, but also completely out of her jurisdiction considering she shouldn’t be there either. Or, is this some visage that Tenmarin has created. No. This woman feels foreign like a Shinigami in ways but different.

“What am I doing here? What are you doing here? Who the hell are you? And why are you in my… head?”

Elyss gives this stranger a look over before raising a brow in curiosity.

Catching a ride? How does one catch a ride in someone’s inner world? That answer answered only one of Elyss’ questions, but left her with even more questions for this stranger to answer. Though, already, Elyss can tell that this woman is going to be more of a smartass than actually being cooperative. To be honest, Elyss didn’t actually care that much about this woman in her head as long as she didn’t cause any problems because Elyss is just like that at times. Obviously, this woman is here to simply catch a ride as she says, so nothing bad should occur because of her, correct? Still, a bit more respect would be nice.

“Don’t ask about them. I don’t know either. Ugh. I guess if you’re going to be here, we should at least try to not be asses to each other, yeah? Well, unless I can force you out. We wouldn’t like that, now would we?”

She doesn’t want to sound intimidating, but if she has the option to eject this individual, then that just puts her on a pedestal that demanded the proper acknowledgement before someone ends up stranded. If this person is catching a ride in her mind to get places, then maybe she wouldn’t have the best of luck out in the world without this form of transportation.

“So, I’ll begin. My name is Elyss Kishimoto, and I just got bored walking all on my lonesome, so I decided to pay my Zanpakuto a little visit to fill that void of time. Actually, I’m surprised Tenmarin hasn’t made its appearance yet. An intruder in its kingdom would surely upset that tyrannical sword.”

And, it was at that time that one of the many faceless budding beings around them bloomed; it’s red bud opening wide into a magnificent rose that sparkled in a dazzling gleam. Though, as soon as this occurred, energy exploded from the towering castle in the middle of town before a thrown spear of energy pierces the head of the bloomed being causing its head to explode with no blood or anything splashing about. But, the headless thing falls to the ground and begins vaporizing into dust that floats off into the breezeless sky.

“Or maybe it doesn’t care as long as you don’t cause any trouble.”

Elyss sighed noting how that display did not interrupt the movements of the other beings around the two women.

Yeah? And? Elyss doesn’t have to listen to someone tell her how unsafe she’s being. People on the outside will surely watch over her. Right? Yeah… That’s besides the point however. This situation is rather unorthodox, but Elyss hopes to get all the information she needs before a certain spirit gets restless. Tenmarin has never executed the faceless people like that before. Maybe it’s because of Masami that Tenmarin is displaying a bit of her annoyance is personalized brutalities.

“Eh… Nice to meet you I guess. Masami? Nice name. Don’t mind Tenmarin. Uh… It’s rather spoiled.”

Though, as Elyss speaks that, she could feel a shiver run down her spine as if her words invoked some inner dread within her. Which, to be honest, isn’t completely off the mark since her Zanpakuto got a bit pissed at the insult.

“I’d recommend just leaving it be though. Tenmarin’s nice when you don’t try to piss it off.”

If she wakes up with a knife wound, she’ll be sure to beat the fuck out of whoever decided to cross her path so dissrespectfully, much like this invader in her mind. Agh! This woman has some bravado about her, huh? Elyss follows after Masami visibly peeved blowing out an excess of air and turns her head to the castle.

“Tenmarin is Tenmarin. It doesn’t like my lifestyle, but at the same time, it tells me to do whatever I want, so… I don’t know… Maybe there’s some underlying message I’m missing most likely. It’s none of your concern. Why care about my Zanpakuto?”

She turns her head and starts walking a bit faster to try and catch up quickly with Masami and tilts her head at the woman.

“Are you a shinigami? You never did explain how you're here.”
