Indomitable: Ichinose is a man of unbelievable resilience having overcame a great deal of hardships not only in his life, but in the pit. Through these trials and tribulations, he has developed something akin to an unstoppable soul. An unwavering commitment to get the job done regardless of how stacked the odds are against him and to keep jabbing regardless of how much his opponent continues to fight back. This level of commitment, be it in the pit or in his personal life, has become the trademark of his being, and lends people to believe in him and to trust that no matter the obstacle the Golden boy will stand back up to no matter what. In fact, some would say that this trait of his is infectious, as he inspires those around him to never stay down, and to always fight for what they are fighting for. After all, there is no greater story than the story of the underdog, not that Ichinose is much an underdog now.

Not the Sharpest Tool in the Shed: Ichinose was never truly educated very well, in the world of the living or the after life, and that is extremely reflected by how he operates now. Difficult subjects such as those involving sciences or advanced kidos seemingly puzzle the giant and he at times tends to not listen or drown out conversations on such subject matters. He tries at times, to give him credit, but the fact is that he just isn't that interested in matters involving the use of the brain. He is a punch first sort of guy and to weigh down such matters with talks of strategy or effective use of foot work simply puzzle him. He finds it, in fact, much easier to just take the punishment and dish back ten times as much, and that is about as far you can push him to create a strategy for a fight or a particular mission.

Family Man: Having been born and quickly abandoned by whatever family he had in the Rukongai, the concept of family is something Vermillion has never really full understood. Still, to say that he has no family would be a lie, as those he views as being the closest to him he usually considers family. For instance, the matron of the orphanage in the Rukongai that he refers to as "Ma", he truly believes her to be his mother. After all, this was the one who brought him in off the streets, and helped him when no one else would pay him any mind. To Ichinose, family is earned, not given, and when a person earns the title of "family" from him it is essentially a promise. A promise that whenever they are in need or in danger he will be there to help them out no matter what. Family to Ichinose is all about the bonds forged through the good and the bad, and it isn't something that is casually thrown around to be taken advantage of.

Lover of Competition: At the beginning of his life, Ichinose displayed a tendency to be a bit of a competitive person with his other "siblings", and over the course of time he has spent living in the Rukongai and the academy proper that competitiveness has only increased. Always striving to be the best and always looking for new areas to expand into, he is quick to throw down the gauntlet, and even quicker a person to ask for the rematch after he has lost. To him every win is proof of his work to get to where he is and every loss is proof that there is so much more work to be done. In a sense his love of competition is simply his drive to improve and get stronger, two things that he takes extremely seriously. But his love of competition isn't just for himself, but for others as well. To him everyone should compete and push themselves because those who don't will never improve, its a simple fact of life to him.
