» Hollow Cancer: A surprisingly apt name for this current affliction, there is in fact little benefit, if any, to this "ability." Put simply, Alex's energy has been rather substantially influenced by the energy of Hollows, Vizards, and of course the Arrancar love of his life. Because of this, his soul itself has begun to develop as if it were that of a Hollow. This is, unfortunately, not something that a human soul is supposed to be doing, and certainly not when still alive.

The primary effect of this is simply that Alex can not exert himself for nearly as long of a time as he normally could. Currently, he is only capable of applying his energy seriously for a maximum of three posts per thread. Any longer, and he becomes rather obviously crippled, rapidly losing the ability to even stand on his own as his health plummets. This will eventually pass, so long as he does not push his energy any further for the remainder of the thread.

This limit is technically avoidable through the Riot of the Blood, as its total anarchic state at the most fundamental of levels means that the Cancer cannot latch onto it with any significant strength. Of course, because of the nature of the Riot of the Blood, neither of these options is especially attractive to Alex.

On top of this limitation to his current capabilities, Alex's spiritual energy, even that which is passively always released from his body, gives off a signature that is far closer to that of a Hollow than a human.

» Why: Alex spends literally all his time around people with some degree of Hollowfication and he has taken in a pretty substantial amount of energy from Nel.

» Extra: There's really no benefit to this right now, I just think it's an interesting plot thread to pursue.
