The Will to Strive Forward [Ulv]
Wed Dec 11, 2019 11:06 am
Blues skies. The salty sea air. The bustling of the city in the distance, and low drones of ships arriving and leaving the harbor.
Sylvia breathed deeply, and sighed contently. It had been several weeks now since Beijing, and half of that time had been spent practically comatose. Her powers had yet to return to her, and probably wouldn't for some time for all the strain she'd put herself under, but she wasn't worried about that; not anymore.
She breathed again, with two fingers pressed to the side of her throat to check for her pulse. Without moving, she jogged in place in the sand to watch the ships disappear over the horizon. Her hair had been tied into a simple ponytail, in lieu of her usual braid, and she wore the spandex top and bottoms she'd had on underneath her himmlischer anzug; freshly laundered, of course. The sneakers had had to be bought with money wired to her from the Vandenreich.
The scars were quickly fading, though left faint impressions in her skin that were reminiscent of the lines of her Blut. She wondered if they would be permanent every time she looked in the mirror, and a part of her almost regretted what she'd done.
However, people were alive because of her. That was something good, despite all the temporary bad.
She turned and returned to her run, moving down the beach at a brisk pace. The exercise was meant to improve cardio and help her body to recover from the damage caused by Letzt Stil more quickly, but the quincy couldn't resist the occasional burst of speed to enjoy how far she'd come in the last year.
