Honey's gaze remained stuck on the green haired captain as he walked over to the medic's supplies, her bright red eyes widening slightly as she watched him prick himself and bleed into a vial. Her nose twitched, golden tail visibly bristling as she caught a whiff. She almost wanted to puke; whatever was pooling into that vial, it reeked of death. But.. He wasn't crow food, how could he smell like that? Though, if she thought about it, she thought she smelled something weird as she had woken up and come out. Why... Why did he smell like that?
She shook her head to clear her thoughts, calming down as her bristled hairs slowly relaxed. That wasn't the point, they had something to do today. No need to yelp over soiled fur. Her gaze silently floated over to the courtyard he would point towards, brows raised as her currently small tail wagged against her small body. Frankly, she was excited for training, even if the strange man was cryptic. Though, soon he and her fellow squad mates would flash step into the yard, Honey stumbling for a second as she reorientated herself, and would then open and jump out of the window, growing in size on her way down, until she was back to her glorious 9 feet.
Though, as her feet hit the ground, her ears and nose twitched to the sounds of newcomers. First was Ulv, a woman she had met before but didn't get to know too much about, then she smelled a unique scent on the wind, feeling a sense of determination really add to her excitement. She wasnt certain of who the scent belonged to, but she knew it was nobody to worry. Finally another woman would appear by Ulv's side, who carried an interesting scent and sound herself, but it wasn't something for Honey to worry about.
She smelled a strange scent of fear and... perhaps others? Off of Durza, noticing his body tense as he was taken by reminiscing. Her gaze slowly looked to the barrel of red liquid, and back to Durza, but noticed that the Captain never gave a real 'OK' to starting. But... He didn't say to go on 'start', did he? The whole scenario made Honey think of the hunt, there was no start until you started.
Honey would slowly creep over to the barrel, dipping her pinky tips in, not seeming to be aware of anything around her, as she walked away from the barrel, to the back of the white haired male that screamed distracted to her. No intention or interest was detectable, until suddenly..
The dirt shifted where her feet used to be, the hybrid girl had suddenly lunged for him, however she didn't go high, she went low. Going high gave a better shot for him to touch her, bending down to strike her would likely be more inconvenient, and thus, she would go to reach for one of his legs, and if successful, wordlessly strike it with an outstretched marked pinky.
If he were to move or otherwise interrupt her strike upon his leg, Honey would redirect her momentum into her legs, slamming her hand into the dirt to give him a swift kick if within reach.

[Then]
Only slowly her consciousness resurfaced. One might think someone that needed to exhaust herself to stop thinking would have trouble sleeping. But even when she hadn't trained, she always fell into a deep, black slumber. There weren't any dreams, just empty and cold blackness. And when she awakened there was this voice, whispering ever so softly in her mind. Today it was just the same as always and again she could not make out these words. They would fade anyway. She knew she just had to wake up and then she could push the voice so far back she wouldn't be able to hear it anymore.
Then she was finally awake. Her room was small and spartan. The first light of day filtered in through the half closed curtains and hit her face. She remained on her hard futon for a few seconds longer, then she gut up. Today she wanted to apply for one of the divisions of the Gotei. She wasn't sure where she would fit in. More than just her guts said her it was the combat division, the fourth. She felt like a fighter. She knew she was a fighter. However it heavily bothered her that she was so far behind than most of her former classmates. Would a Captain accept her as a member of his or her squad when she wasn't even able to release her sword? This uncertainty frustrated her deeply and tainted the otherwise beautiful morning. However, she was absolutely certain that she wouldn't be accepted if she didn't apply.
Half an hour later she was ready and slid her sword into her obi before she left her small room.
[Now]
The summon from the new captain of the 4th came as a bit of a surprise. What a coincidence that exactly on this day there would be a summon to members and applicants.
When she arrived at the yard where the exercises were held, there were some others already there. She filed in at the back. No one had noticed her, so she watched and listened quietly.
Tests? Now, that would prove to be interesting. She was fairly certain, that the others were pretty strong.
She listened carefully when the captain explained the first challenge. Trying to marke one another. On first glimpse it looked like a childish game, but it wasn't so different from some of the exercises she did before. With dexterity and a little bit of luck she maybe would be able to achieve something. Maybe not. In any case, she wouldn't back down.
She followed the other participants to the next courtyard and dipped her pinkys into the liquid, right after a strange creature, that was clearly no ordinary shinigami, had done the same. Then she positioned herself to one corner of the yard, so she could see everyone, but not too far into it, so she would still be able to move. Then she waited for someone else to make a move against her.

Honorable Vizard
Laskt Matiche
Laskt would listen as the green-haired captain spoke, narrowing his eyes to slits as the man almost casually threatened the well-being of one of his closest, any indeed only, friends. He would have no doubt forced himself to do something foolish to stick up for Takehiko had the strange man not immediately moved on. However, even as Shinryu ran through the standard boot-camp spiel, Laskt was distracted by the arrival by several ridiculously powerful or important individuals. Ulv, Former Captain Commander Ibiki Suika, Vice Captain Commander Abalia, the list went on and on. Laskt turned as Captain Shinryu finished the first part of his speech, bowing at the waist in turn to each of them in turn. The Vizard started as he saw Chikai no Uragiru leaning against the barracks in the background, his figurine indistinct and hazy, "None of zem care you know. You should not either mon ami, zey are trash compared to what you could become." The Hollow said lazily, greed and ambition pooling in his yellow eyes.
The ancient Shinigami visibly shuddered, shoving down his inner darkness into the depths of his psyche. The delusion shattered, his Hollow gone.
For now.
The Vizard crossed his arms as Shinryu explained the activity at hand, holding himself like the physical action could keep him anchored in the here and now. "You are fine. You are good. You can keep him restrained for a little while longer." He muttered under his breath like a mantra as the captain finished. He crossed to the barrel, taking a moment to examine his opponents. The Vizard had met Durza before, and strangely the kid didn't seem much stronger then the last time they had met. The most recent arrival seemed to be at a similar level, although neither were what worried him. The other individual looked to be slightly animalistic, and was significantly more powerful, almost as strong as the Hollow that he dared not think about. The knight would need to be careful, even if, to his surprise, he seemed to be the second strongest present.
Laskt removed his gloves and stuffed them in an interior pocket. He went to dip his fingers in the liquid, but paused for a second. The strange captain didn't say he had to physically touch his opponents, just mark them. Laskt dumped his digits deeply in the sludge, making sure they were deeply soaked with the solution.
And then the test exploded into motion.
The animal Shinigami immediately went after Durza, as the young one was occupied with his stretches. "Smart idea, you should do zat as well. Pick off ze other weak one so she won't be a distraction." Chikai murmured, but Laskt's mind had already shifted into fight-or-flight mode. And he intended to fight.
In a heartbeat, Laskt likewise blurred into motion, flash-stepping after the animal Shinigami at his maximum possible speed. His arm flickered upward in an arc, sending a spray of the liquid at his foe, while he stayed at a safe distance.

With fluid grace Durza continued to flow from stretch to stretch, feeling his body loosen up with each different one. As the stretches continued a smile would grace the young mans image as he simply enjoyed the moment. It had been a while since he'd gotten active, and said he could easily tell as such upon a closer look at the others in his squad. While his routine continued Durza's excellent eyes picked up on everything different about Laskt. The man seemed more on edge, but definitely had gotten stronger since they had last seen one another. On the other hand, the hybrid was something that intrigued the young man. In part because he'd yet to encounter a hybrid outside of the Vizard race, and one other because he could tell she had the edge physically for sure.
As the flowing movements of Durza's form continued his gaze came across two unexpected guests. 'Isn't that Ibiki Suika?' The young man thought to himself, surprised at the previous Captain Commanders appearance for a simple spar. Such a presence would be hard to ignore.. As would that of the Vice-Captain Commander.. 'So many big-wigs showing up for this? Is something going on?' Now he was really getting curious. Was there really a reason for all these big-wigs to show up for something like a squad spar? Or was it something more? In the end Durza wouldn't have much time to consider his thoughts as another felt it was time to initiate things.
Despite the appearance of being distracted with his stretches sharp eyes watched as Honey, followed by Laskt & an unknown, added the resin to their fingers. As the trio did so Durza grew intrigued at Laskt's application of the dye.. Excellent eyes picked up on the more liberal amount of the dye on the man's hands vs his own or the others. An excellent idea indeed. As was Honey's movement to position herself where she had. If it weren't for his attentiveness & keen eyes Durza was sure he'd have missed on at least one of these particular details.
It took but a moment for things to explode into action. The instant Honey made her move would also be the same one in which Laskt made his. Crimson eyes picked out both of his allies movements before the sounds of them reached Durza's ears. Smiling to himself, excited for what was to come, the young man sprang into action himself.
Shifting his weight onto his right leg the young man swiftly pulled the left out of Honey's reach, immediately propelling himself backwards off of the right in order to evade the hybrid's follow up. Even still Durza wasn't done. Observant eyes picked up Laskt's surprisingly quick movements, now Durza was sure the man had grown stronger since they'd last met, before having to roll out of the way of several droplets of dye. "Hehe. Wish I'd thought of that Laskt!"
With a laugh the young man would propel himself out of his quick roll, utilizing sheer natural speed to close the distance between himself and Laskt as quickly as possible. As far as he knew right now his acquaintance was the strongest of the group, and thus needed to be taken out first. As such he aimed to do so as quickly as possible. While currently unarmed it did not mean he couldn't apply various techniques to his limbs. And he was about to show Laskt just that.
The moment the distance between the two would close the young man would utilize the principals of Hitotsume: Nadegiri, a zanjutsu technique, in an unarmed strike. In a blur of motion his right arm would lash out finger tips poised to strike, as if a blade itself, in order to strike a blow across the other mans torso. Using the speed and rotation from the first strike he'd the spin into a vicious roundhouse kick intended for Laskt's rib-cage. If either blow were blocked or evaded the younger shinigami would quickly and smoothly slide-step his way to a neutral distance, crimson orbs locked on Laskt with the brief & occasional glance towards the other two.
