Blood Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

Takehiko had been in a rather odd state at this moment. He'd learned of his zanpakuto's shikai but it had a rather consequence of effect. His hand still hurt and his body ached everywhere from Ulv's training. He'd spent time working with Ulv and many things. But somethings couldn't be discovered with her or anyone. Takehiko met his zanpakuto finally. But it felt so far away now that he'd gotten here. Finally accomplishing something of note. Despite his daydreams and wonderings of what he'd have. Aunt Rukia wielded a beautiful ice zanpakuto. Uncle Byakuya's deadly senbonzakura was a sight to behold. His zanpakuto was blood-based and used his of all things. It didn't use blood from other people or anything like that. No, it drank from him. How was he supposed to react to this? Gleeful that he finally got his powers but they hurt him? He had to think of an upside to this power. What could he do to make this a benefit? He laid atop the roof staring at the clouds. Takehiko had grown stronger but what about bankai?

What would it take from him when he got that far? What of Shikokai the power he didn't have as a Vizard. Bringing his hand up he felt the warmth of light pass through it. This hand had been pierced and cut just the other day. Yet with Kaido he'd recovered from it. It was so frustrating because mentally he knew something. His uncle's letter was one hundred percent right. He couldn't use his zanpakuto outside of emergencies. It was something wielded with caution alone. Which made him even more upset because his uncle found out about it. The disgusting power that he wished he didn't have. But what could he do but lay on a roof in pain? Ulv's training wasn't a joke it hurt everywhere. Emotionally wasn't much better as he just felt broken. Ruin's power while helpful didn't fix this issue. Shikai was a milestone in Takehiko's mind. Something to accomplish regardless of the situation. The kid with the lowest scores accomplished Shikai. That student who couldn't connect or perform anything. He made it to a vice captain's accomplishment.

But that accomplishment was causing him a turmoil inside. Takehiko's emotions were a swirl of happy and sad. He did love his zanpakuto and her but within he knew a truth. This milestone was meaningless because of one simple fact. His power was harmful to himself. Nothing changed or derailed that fact. The pain was his litany no matter what it seemed.

As if Arianda had sensed and felt quite a good deal of conflict from Takehiko; she had appeared right next to him and gently put a hand on his shoulder. If Takehiko was completely absorbed in his thoughts he may even get a little surprised when Arianda simply just appeared next to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. She looked like she normally did, silver eyes, black and red hair, and her red cloak coupled with her red and black clothing. She gave the boy a smile, squeezing his shoulder gently before she used that same arm to wrap it around his shoulder and gently guide him towards Ari's mansion. She could tell something was wrong without a word being said. Why did she need to be told what was wrong, after all; she was a demon. They are extremely emotionally sensitive; and some can be very empathetic. However, it was not all. Regardless, Arianda gave Takehiko a warm smile and guided him into her house.

Once they were there, Arianda gently sat him down on the couch; taking a seat next to him. She looked at Takehiko, standing in front of him still; gazing quite piercingly into his eyes. But, it wasn't out of any anger or anything; but out of searching. She was wondering why he seemed to look so downtrodden. Arianda gave him that smile again, speaking to him pleasantly.

"It's nice to see you again, Takehiko. But, is everything alright? You look... Well, you look very disappointed about something. I'm all ears if you want to talk about it, Takehiko."

Blood Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

His eyes blinked for a moment seeing a face arrive. This was someone he'd not seen since his uncle cut his throat. Takehiko had been badly wounded and shown her a horrible side of himself. "It's Big Sis Arianda, I've not seen you in a while." He said it commenting on her arrival though as he sat up. He listened first before responding outside of his comment. "Well, it's easier if I show you..but this is gonna hurt." Takehiko gently gripped his zanpakuto's hilt sighing softly. Using the same hand since it would hurt less hopefully. " Drink, Chi no Miru. Upon activation, his shikai impaled his hand straight through. Three spikes were through his palm, while a red strap like an iv went into his wrist. Quickly he undid his shikai reverting it into sealed form. Bringing his hand glowing green to the wounded appendage. "That about sums it up, I worked so hard to get shikai. But in the end, I can't use it often and Uncle Byakuya has forbidden use outside of emergencies. "

Takehiko's body had changed a bit since Arianda had last seen him. He'd gotten a few bruises from Ulv and training with her. Recovery time for that had been rough on him. The problem with Henrex and now his zanpakuto. He just didn't have a way to fight at the moment. Their had to be a solution to the problems he had. But he'd not found any of them yet. "I just can't think about how to make this work..what about Banaki, that may very well kill me. It's so frustrating, I finally got to a point where I could meet her. But because of my body and weakness, I can't use her powers." Takehiko was frustrated about the zanpakuto. He'd not come up with any solution to let him fight yet. Nothing came to mind he could wield demon arts very well. His kido skills were sharp as knives, but what could he accomplish? He couldn't continue to rely on them alone. Self-destructive weapon and these things. Would mean a short life for him it was all so frustrating.

He'd wanted to be a healer when he began. But he learned a lot about the world, through injuries and betrayals. It was all he could do to just survive and now. When he thought he finally gained some form of edge. It turned out to be one that sliced him and not his enemies. It didn't protect those who were precious to him. If anything it made him need more protection.

Arianda watched as Takehiko's Zanpakuto turned his hand into a bloody mess; piercing it quite easily. However, before she could comment, Takehiko disabled the shikai, and put his Zanpakuto down; healing the wound as Arianda let out a gentle sigh and shook her head slightly. She had never known a Shikai so violent, so... so self harming. Arianda slowly moved to sit next to Takehiko, taking a seat quite quickly and then gently patted Takehiko on the shoulder.

"Big sis... huh, when did you start calling me that, Takehiko?"

Arianda gave him a small, warm, smile; slight amusement in her eyes. She wasn't disappointed at all. After all, it wasn't bad to have such a kind boy as a younger brother. Regardless, she soon turned towards the subject of his self-destructive shikai; having to wonder what exactly could be done about that. To be honest, Arianda had no true idea. After all, Zanpakuto were not her field of expertise; she only knew roughly about what they could do and slightly how they worked. However, she at least let out a small sigh and gently pulled Takehiko down so he was soon laying down; his head on her soft lap. She smiled down at him before leaning back against the couch and spoke to him gently.

"Well, if I am going to be your big sister, I should do it right, huh? So, lemme tell you this; be careful with your powers, alright? Your uncle is smart to tell you not to use it outside of emergencies. Your life is more important than to use such a Zanpakuto at random. However, you still can learn how to use your sealed Zanpakuto."

Arianda gave Takehiko another warm smile, gently giving him a pat on the head.

"Also, Takehiko, do not call yourself weak just because you could faint or die from blood loss. Even I, a being who can regenerate, could not stand too much blood loss. Think of it like this, Takehiko. Your Zanpakuto may be a risk to you, but it is still yours. It is very possible, if you train enough, you could find a way to use your powers without needing to drain blood from yourself. Like I said, your sealed Zanpakuto is still a potent weapon. Knowing how to use your weapon outside of your shikai, especially since yours is so dangerous to yourself, would be a good thing, you know?"

She gave Takehiko another warm smile after she had finished speaking for a second time. However, she let out a tiny sigh after she had finished speaking; leaning back and looking up at the ceiling.

"Takehiko, if you truly do not believe you are strong; then become stronger for those you wish to protect. Otherwise, you shan't get anywhere. So, little brother; be safe for your big sis, alright?"

Blood Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

Well, she embraced the slip up that he'd kept in his mind a while. Takehiko did consider himself feeble yet. He'd not found a suitable solution to the whole zanpakuto thing. It was self-destructive and maybe someday it wouldn't need his blood. But right now it did and rubbing the top of his head. He could only smile and nod, she was his big sister. Arianda had looked out for him when nobody else was. His eyes of azure fell below to his sword. In this current form, what powers did it have really? From what he knew it didn't do much else outside of swinging sharply. Which he wasn't very good at using swords anyways. Uncle Byakuya and Uncle Tsubasa were both excellent swordsmen. They'd have the answer to what he could do, for now, it was dealing with the handicap. Right now his zanpakuto felt like shackles more than relief. Three swordsmen were teachers to him in multiple ways giving him an education he never would have had. Uncle Byakuya provided a chance for him to grow. Master Henrex's education still lingered in his mind.

And Ulv had been his newest instructor helping him ground out his weaknesses. Takehiko had many flaws in strategy and deployment. Train enough until a solution is found. What would it be though in the sealed form he'd not yet practiced much? "Alright big sis, you win. But I'm just not sure how to wield my zanpakuto. Swordsmanship has always been a flaw of mine, I learned from a Kuchiki and many fine swordsmen. But...I prefer kido so maybe that's the answer? " He said musing out loud now to not just her but himself. Takehiko didn't know what action or place to go. It was a very complicated and confusing thing. "Big sis do you wield any blood powers?" He said glancing at her now. Hopeful she wielded something. Anything that could provide him a clue. How did he proceed in this period was the question. Did he make medicine that created blood increase for him? Something to develop him into a Polycythemia vera. People who generated far more blood than normal people.

Body alteration could work, but that had some drawbacks as well. Takehiko finished mending his hand after a few minutes. Blood was a tricky power one that required moderation. It couldn't just be used every moment as his uncle said. "The problem is, I have missions to carry out and..I don't wish to be dead weight to my partner on these. " Sighing he ran a hand through his hair. It was maddening was what it was. Disappointed sure, but how to mend the problem? Broken bridges like these were always a pain in the neck. Takehiko brought his chin to rest on his palm now. Watching below as he tried to get some idea. Blinking a thought came to him though it wouldn't be perfect. Rubbing his jaw softly he considered his options now. He could try that if it worked that would be good. "I wonder, could I perhaps harden my blood and draw it back in after usage.?" Takehiko was considering a method of which not to use too much of his blood.

Instead of shikai a small finger prick and use the blood as needed then harden the wound closed. But could that be done for him in reality? In theory sure it was possible but would blood work that way?

Arianda let out a gentle sigh, shaking her head as she looked upon her apparently adoptive younger brother. She pat him gently on the head as he spoke; thinking as he spoke. Finally, after he had stopped speaking Arianda gave him a tiny smile after a few seconds of thought. She had not a single power over blood; neither of herself or another. She gave Takehiko's head a gentle pat before she spoke.

"Takehiko, I have not a single bit of control over blood; at least not in that same way. I can control my blood with my demon powers. However, that's not the same thing that you are dealing with. Your power literally deals with the drainage of your own blood. Frankly, it seems like your biggest issue is having an alternative to your zanpakuto; because even Kido has it's weaknesses."

Arianda hummed as she thought before gently shaking her head; letting a sigh escape herself. This was a conundrum. After all, if Takehiko could not use his powers appropriately without risk to himself; how would he fight in an emergency if he had no access to things that allowed him power boosts and more powers? Arianda thought for a few more moments before letting out another sigh and spoke to the boy who had labeled her as his adopted big sister.

"Frankly, I could not tell you what would be the best method to control your powers and prevent yourself from running out of blood. All I can say is that you need to think of ways to provide blood for your Zanpakuto without using too much of your own. Honestly, you may even need to get more powerful to properly control your powers. After all, it could be some form of uncomfortableness with your powers. However, I am no expert. Just... try to get more powerful; the lack of power and confidence in yourself could also be the culprit here. Again, I am no expert but... You can't let your powers get you down; accept what they are and move forward. Don't hate or dislike them, that will simply cause them to work poorly; own your powers. Own your powers and they may work better for you."

Arianda smiled at Takehiko before letting out a soft chuckle.

"Well, maybe it's not the most uplifting thing to hear, but, if you don't own your own powers; who will? I know you can do it, it'll just take some time; just don't give up. Work hard, so you can protect big sis~"

Blood Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

Takehiko listened glumly as he knew it was true as well. This power just didn't work for him. There had to be some way for him to access it. What could he do at this moment in time? That was when he remembered something rather odd. "Oh right, after Ulv beat me some girl offered to heal me through sleeping with me? Why would going into a bed making my injuries heal? I declined her since I didn't feel comfortable sharing a bed with someone I didn't know. It sounds weird to me." He said rubbing at his still sore body having instead visited his master. Who treated and lectured him in equal parts. Shikai was too dangerous to use. So that left him with a single path to go on. He had to use Akuma's powers instead. At least that made the most sense to him. "So in a nutshell, I have to find a way to use this power that drain's my vitality. " Takehiko's gaze remained calm and yet a bit sad. It was hard to not think of this as a problem. Spiritually at the moment, he couldn't do anything about this.

But maybe medicinally he could find a solution. But for now he was tired and his body ached in ways you'd not imagine. Master Cho Zi was a fine healer and one who taught him. But it was being hit by Ulv with restraints that were the problem. She left injuries that doctors never heard of. She hit hard and not just a little bit at that. His body where she struck felt like he'd broken bones among other things. He had a mission coming up for the Unabara. Something involving checking a warehouse out in the Alaskan Wilderness or some such. It didn't matter he would someday have to use his zanpakuto. Eventually, he would need to start using it regardless. Medicine wouldn't work, their just wasn't a short cut to any of it. This was the starting line and the path didn't just look long. He felt like he was climbing up the tallest mountain. That was the simple truth of the matter in this regard. Takehiko didn't have energy to fight Shunsui and keep going around anymore.

Part of him just wanted to give up right here and stop. But what purpose was there in this thing? It was clear that no blood user existed to help him out. Could his body maybe adapt to it someday? Just get used to having blood drained from his vessel? Or was Akuma the only choice he had really? Takehiko didn't think less of his angry brother. He just didn't have the gas anymore in his body. He was so tired and drained from everything. He kept wasting Ulv's time and maybe worse his own. Only solution he could think of was to try and make it work. To get used to his zanpakuto wielding his powers. That was all he could do at this moment. Arianda was right. The only way forward was to get stronger. But not the same way he had. He needed to visit Colin again, but first, this mission took precedence.
