Summertime Magic(Zunza/Anna)(Private)
Sat Jun 22, 2019 2:55 pm
Rays of sunlight danced over the seas of Minatumi Harbor, construction-workers of the city were continuing their hard work in rebuilding Minatumi back to glory, and the civilians were basking within the warm embrace of the summer day. Emerald orbs gazed upon this wonderful sight and widened in awe, amazed by the beautiful sight that graced her eyes.
Those eyes belonged to the Magus of ascension, a Sugiura-born woman who had recently traveled to earth and was in the process of making it a home here, primarily within Minatumi it would seem. There was a major transition from living in a realm that seemed as if it were a fantasy illustrated in the mythological form to living in a realm in the middle of a war.
Thankfully, Minatumi seemed to be protected well enough that Anna did not have to worry. Even so, if war did come, she would be prepared. She hadn't been in the realm of the Sugiura sitting around and doing nothing. She had trained and delve into her origin to reach a threshold of power where she would always be readily able to defend herself.
As she stared upon the beach, she would walk across the boardwalk and onto the sands of the beach, preparing a blanket to cover both her and her special guest from getting sand in unfortunate places. In addition, she would set a few meals she had prepared down, all packaged so the flavor was sealed in and each meal was still hot. Oh, and the special bread, the bread that made a certain first kiss a memory that would never be forgotten. Gazing into the sun once more, she awaited the presence of her husband-to-be.

Zunza had spent most of the early morning tidying up Arianda's mansion and of course reading a few books on random subject matters that had caught his eye in her library. He enjoyed random literature on many different subjects and Arianda's library, though much smaller than his old library back in the Sugiuran Realm, was at least enough to keep the young magus semi-intrigued. Still, after being cooped up inside of the mansion for so long, Zunza decided that maybe it was time to explore his surroundings, after all fresh air could do the body good, and also a small dip into the cold waters would probably do him well at this point after a long morning of chores. So, after changing his clothes for the occasion, Zunza made his way to the beach in a pair of swimming trunks, and a set of sandles. His over all physique would not turn any heads, but he did find time to introduce himself to anyone who walked his way. Being friendly to his new neighbors was paramount to building lasting relationships within the community and Zunza was all about making connections.
In fact, as he stepped on to the beach, his strongest connection was setting up for some time on the beach.
"Anna, what are you doing out here?"
He asked as he made his way over to her as he caught sight of what she was setting up. Perhaps he had spoiled some kind of surprise and internally he kicked himself for being so stupid as to do so, but none the less he was happy that she was doing things like this. It meant she was getting comfortable with her new surroundings and he had been quite worried that it would take some time for her to feel at home, but she had rapidly adjusted thankfully. He walked over to her, giving her a swift peck on the cheek, and then sat down on the blanket as to not get sand in his swimming trunks.
"I was wondering if you were out on the town, I know that the harbor had a lot to offer, but you were on the beach instead?"
Zunza said as he spotted the food that she had cooked, he raised an eyebrow, and felt even more disappointed in himself for ruining the surprise.
"If I had known you were doing this...I wouldn't have come to the beach till you beckoned me. I'm sorry for ruining the surprise..."
Zunza said as he scratched the back of his head in a bashful manner.

Zunza seemed to arrive rather quickly, catching Anna by surprise. This whole setting she had created with the meals and beverages was meant to be a celebration of their eventual marriage. In truth, it was partly her fault for not telling him but still! How she would have desired to surprise him, so! A small pout was clear in her expression as she twirled around to hide her embarrassment. Turning back to him as he pecked her cheek, Anna simply sighed happily as she planted a kiss upon his lips and pulled away as she watched him sit upon the blanket laid out before them. Anna moved some of the blonde locks of her from her face as she walked over and sat down beside him.
"Don't worry about it, darling. I did intend to surprise you but I didn't expect you would come to the beach, too. Are you a mind-reader or was this merely coincidence? " She chuckled as she gazed into the blue sea and back at her husband. Even though he was still getting accustomed to living civilized life, he never lost that attractive charm, that gentle nature, nor his manners. He was still the same honorable and charming man she fell in love with. Holding onto his hand, she gazed at him with those emerald orbs and decided to speak, offering him to spend the day with her.
"If it isn't too much, I'd love for us to indulge in the wonderful summer day and relax for once. The two of us, and no one else, my loving husband-to-be. "

SUGIURAN OF IMAGINATION
Holding hands with his beloved brought a great sense of calmness to Zunza's mind which had been plagued for months with the inner dealings of his new surroundings. The beauty of his soon to be wife and the ocean in the distance was more than enough to help Zunza finally release some tension in the form of a relaxed sigh.
"I'm not a mind reader, I just happened to get done with my chores for the day and decided to head to the beach. I had not expected such a splendid display."
Zunza leaned in and kissed his future wife's cheek with a smile on his face as he tightened his grip on her hand.
"The food and the beach look wonderful too."
He looked out over the ocean, taking it all in before him. To be honest he had never been to the beach before. He had never found much time for relaxation and time to himself. After all, he had expectations tossed on him at an early age to be the greatest Magus in the West, and to one day take over the household, and forge a path for the future. Now he had no house, but he did have a home. A home with his loving wife to be and all that stuff that had mattered to him before was simply irrelevant when it came to the happiness of the young woman next to him. She was his everything now, not just the woman he loved, but the tether to a realm that no longer openly welcomed him. Not that he had ever truly been welcomed among his own kind.
Not with the beliefs he had or the stigma that he had held over his held for most of his life. Still, it didn't bother him anymore as Anna accepted him regardless of that, and he adored that about her.
"So what exactly did you make us to eat? To be honest...I worked up quite an appetite in the house. Arianda has a rather expansive mansion.
Zunza began to casually look over the spread before them, only releasing Anna's hand so that he could wrap his arm around her, and pull her in closer than she already was. He noted a few passerby eyeing him up, probably wondering how a guy like him had gotten a knockout like her, and he would nod curtly at them as if in a display of bravado. He did wonder how he had gotten so lucky, but he didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. Instead he decided to enjoy every moment of this closeness, of this warmth, and the food that she had made for them to enjoy.

MAGUS OF ASCENSION
Zunza placed a gentle kiss on Anna's cheek which caused her to giggle sheepishly, still somewhat embarrassed that her plan had gone awry. Anna hadn't predicted he would've chosen the beach as one of his locations of interest; It didn't seem like Zunza to travel outside much.
He was always studying and learning various spells in order to develop his strength as a warrior; Anna never questioned this because they both studied together.
Therefore, it went without saying, that to see him on the beach of all places was a surprise that countered her own surprise! Anna placed a hand upon his head and pecked his nose in return. Well, at least none of her loving preparations had gone to waste.
That could be a new surprise, right? Who didn't enjoy a wonderful spread of well-cooked meals on the beach? Before her mind could cycle through anymore thoughts, Anna was pulled into his Zunza's warm embrace as he inquired about the food. Anna nodded with excitement beaming into those emerald eyes, setting out each box she had wrapped with tenderness and care.
Utilizing a small spell, she removed the plastic from each of the boxes, revealing a delectable array of meals, marvelously prepared. There were meals ranging from Japanese Cuisine to Chinese Cuisine, from American to Indian.
What he would recognize most, however, would likely the bread that would keep them linked together forever, as it held so many memories that Anna was fond of on their first unofficial "date."

SUGIURAN OF IMAGINATION
This was indeed their first unofficial date and while Anna looked at home on the beach, Zunza did look quite out of place. Much like Anna speculated, Zunza didn't spend much time outside, due to his need to research and study magic to find the next big spell to piece together. He wasn't a warrior, though he was indeed powerful, and he opted to believe he was more of a researcher. A man who studied relentlessly to discover new and exciting secrets within the limitations of his own magic. If Anna knew just how far he had come in his dealings with Shinigami magic, she might have confused him for a Shinigami. While he found the chanting archaic, he had learned some of the sequences to such a degree that his mimicry could be considered flawless, and that was due to his thirst for knowledge.
That was, however for another time. Right now he was in the presence of his future wife and her divine home cooking. He could think of spell theory later and instead focus on the best thing in his life by far, Anna.
"Such a wide variety of foods...if I didn't know any better I would say you are trying to fatten me up."
Zunza eyed all the food, looking for something that sparked his interest in a way that would make him choose it first, and that was the tricky part. Anna was such a good cook that it was hard to decide on what would be the first thing to start with. So, Zunza decided to start with flattery.
"And don't think I didn't notice the spell you used. I'm proud you are getting better bit by bit, my love."
He said as he finally decided on what he assumed was onigiri, not that he had ever had any, but he had seen a picture in a cook book once in Arianda's mansion of such a thing. In fact, probably unbeknownst to his wife to be, Zunza had been learning how to cook as a way to surprise her, and he had spent quite a few nights silently cooking in the kitchen. Sadly, he was a surprisingly bad cook, and he doubted that he would ever elevate himself beyond dabbling in the culinary arts, but he did indeed hope to present her with the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich the realms had ever known.
"Lets do something about this sun...I would rather not burn up."
Zunza said as he snapped his fingers, the sound of whirling psions engulfing sand nearby, and reshaping it into something suited for blocking the sun could be heard around the beach. Many a passerby stared in confusion as a perfectly constructed umbrella made out of sand formed above them, providing them with necessary shade.
"Now...let me get a taste of this food."
Zunza began to chow down on the onigiri with reckless abandon as he looked over at the woman of his dreams with a look of absolute bliss of the multiple flavors he was ingesting.

MAGUS OF ASCENSION
Every compliment that Zunza blessed Anna with only made her beaming smile all the more brighter as her emerald eyes observed him with uncontained joy. Whenever she was around him, she always felt as if she was experiencing an extended dream sequence and one little pinch would take it all away: it was an odd thought, no doubt, but the love that she held for him was, without question, a divine, dreamlike experience that she still felt was undeserved. She'd always feel a sense of playful guilt since she ran away from him with no explanation; Anna felt that such an act was cruel and abrupt, leaving a man with no explanation and a panicked expression. Even so, in the time that they were away, his love for her had never wavered.
"Ahaaaa? I'm glad you see that I've made progress, my beloved. I had to seek tutelage in another, so I'm proud to know my results are bearing fruit. "
Anna swayed her legs back and forth as she continued to admire Zunza with her emerald gaze.
"Let's do something about this sun...I would rather not burn up."
Anna's expression turned to one of worry, considering placing Zunza in unfavorable conditions was the last thing she wanted to do. However, he rectified the issue by erecting a psion-induced umbrella of sand, blocking the bright sun from vision. Anna giggled, as she used this opportunity to make humor of his action.
"You know, I could've constructed a perfect umbrella that isn't made out of sand, Zunza! Now everyone's staring at us..."
Anna smiled with a teasing gaze as she pulled on his ear, observing him as he began to indulge in the cuisine she had prepared for them. She decided to indulge herself as well, unwrapping a box of delicious Tandoori Chicken that she turned to offer Zunza, proud of her handiwork and enjoying this loving moment they were sharing.

SUGIURAN OF IMAGINATION
Some people may ask how such a beautiful young lady had fallen for a guy like him, but Zunza would probably have no answer for you. He could feel the jealousy of some of the people on the beach being directed to him, but in the presence of Anna he refused to glare back at them. It wasn't his fault that the wonderful Anna had chosen him over them, well he supposed it was kind of his fault, but he digressed. Right now he was just happy to be in the presence of his wife to be, eating her food, and happy that she was indeed enjoying his company as much as he enjoyed hers.
He knew after all it wasn't easy dealing with a guy like him. Somebody who always had his nose in the books trying to learn something new or trying to find a new secret to horde. Yet, she put up with it. A herculean task, he thought to himself, as he had his ear pulled in jest by Anna.
"I don't care if they stare. I'm here with you and they can look as much as they want. I dare them to say something..."
His eyes scanned potential 'adversaries' in jest, but it was clear that the people on the beach realized that Zunza was cut from a different cloth, and looked away rather quickly. Zunza may have appeared to them at first to be their lesser, there were quite a few guys with muscles on this beach, but Zunza was more than capable of blasting them away with a flick of his wrist. They could sense that, even if his powers were greatly suppressed, and soon there was a silent understanding not to mess with him while he was on a date with Anna.
"Besides, with all the food you have cooked up here I can only suppose you would be exhausted. Let me exert a little power, my love. I wouldn't dare want you to pass out from exhaustion."
Zunza nodded his head with a smile at his betrothed and reached out for the chicken without hesitation, but instead of eating it himself he held it out for her to eat. He had seen in a book feeding the one you loved by hand was common place. It had been one of those books with mostly pictures and primarily dialogue. He believed they were called "manga"?
"Say "ah"!"
Zunza said awkwardly as he went to feed her.

MAGUS OF ASCENSION
"I don't care if they stare. I'm here with you and they can look as much as they want. I dare them to say something..."
Anna chuckled with an expression of jest clear on her face. Hearing him speak like that was hilariously odd, as Zunza seemed to be such a hospitable and noble man with nary a hint of rowdiness in his bones. She supposed, that, his indomitable affection for his wife-to-be made him a more protective - albeit, somewhat defensive man but Anna felt such a newly-developed trait to be heartwarming. Even as she had prepared herself to feed him the Indian-cuisine she had prepared, he took the chicken from her hand and offered it to her instead.
Such an action had caught her off guard, but she smiled blissfully as she grabbed a spoon of her own, scooping up a spoonful of chicken and rice as she held it to his mouth while he held the spoon towards her own. Zunza was such a praiseworthy man who would make a fine husband to any woman who valued nobility and a gentle spirit. She had hardly exerted any energy in preparing this food - as cooking had become second nature to her - but he still wished to treat her as if she were a figure of royalty or a princess from a fairy tale. And that... was why she loved him so much. He was her entire world. His precious, invaluable gift.
"I didn't work up that much of a sweat, my love! Sometimes, you make up the silliest ideas and perceptions of me in your mind... but I cooked the food so you can try it! That said," she opened her lips up as she gazed at him with those emerald eyes. "Why don't we enjoy the food together?"

SUGIURAN OF IMAGINATION
"Non-sense! Making such wonderful food, coming out here to the beach, and setting this lovely spread up would require a great deal of energy."
Zunza stared at his beloved intensely. She always worked so hard to take care of him ever since the two of them had been reunited and she acted in such a manner? Stating that she barely worked up a sweat doing this? He would not let her sully her hard work by saying such things, she worked hard, and she deserved to relax more than anyone on this beach. Including himself. All he did at the mansion was dust and clean, Anna did the hard work of cooking, and having tried to cook himself he knew just how hard it could be. Zunza, at the moment forgetting just how skilled of a cook his wife to be was, had put it in his mind at that moment to make this day all about her. She needed this day and he would be the one to provide it as her future husband.
"Yes, let us enjoy this food, and after I will pamper you. You work far too hard and receive way too little praise for your hard work. So please, just relax, and allow your husband to take care of you."
After requesting this, Zunza would reach down for another bit of food, and take a bite of it himself. Savoring the flavor of his wife's home cooking with a big dumb goofy grin on his face, the equivalent of a young child enjoying a piece of candy. In his mind he began to go over ways that a poor Sugiuran immigrant could afford to spoil a beautiful woman who was the most important thing in his life. He could make her poetry? He had heard that such things were highly respected in the realm and he wondered if Anna would enjoy such a thing? Perhaps he could start a garden for her? He had quite a high understanding of agriculture and some would say he even had a green thumb.
He furrowed his brow in probably the most adorable manner as he tried to think of things that he could do for his wife to show her that he appreciated everything that she did. To be honest, it was quite an unreal feeling for him as he had never thought he would have a wife in the first place. Let alone one that he would actually love. It was no secret that the West loved to merry off young nobles to strengthen blood lines and he, before his family's fall from grace, had always believed that to be his fate. However, he had luckily obtained the eye of the love of his life. And now he was having trouble in determining just the right thing to show her just how much he valued her.
It was quite the conundrum.
