The Silent Kuchiki
Takehiko Kuchiki
He'd sent on ahead a special noble message to them requesting access to a prisoner. Takehiko doubted it would be an issue though he didn't know what he could do. On his way to the realm of the living again. His scarf carefully tied around his neck hiding his mouth. He'd begun doing this as he walked towards the prison of Karakura. This was the moment of truth for him as he began to walk closer. Bringing out his letter of introduction he'd written for them. To tell the guards who he was and his business here. He'd come to see the prisoner for reasons of Kuchiki interests. Was this a lie in some sense of it? Yes, but it was a lie based on the truth of his own interests. Takehiko refrained from using the noble blood excuse. But this moment required drastic measures for him. He wanted to learn kido and improve himself vastly. As the guards looked at one another for a moment, they let him through the gate. But trading glances at his scarf as one caught a glance at it. His scar blew up a bit from a sudden gust of wind. Showing a massive scar on his neck that looked grotesque enough to make one of them bring a hand to their mouth.
They now know why he didn't speak as he entered into the prison's world. Walking past cells and other containments. Takehiko's eyes brimmed with hope at the very least. He summoned courage as he sat down in front of a certain cell. He'd arrived at the location in question. With his courage almost but spent for this moment. She had no reason to help him as he spoke now. This was going to hurt and cause him pain. Takehiko knew he couldn't speak through cards. His first words since the injury coming from his shredded vocal cords. "I...am....sorry....if....my voice...displeases you." It wasn't human sounding almost like guttural whispers or breathes. Takehiko's throat hurt and he could taste blood in his mouth from it. Speaking wasn't easy for him as he breathed softly feeling the warm trickle of blood. "I've....come....to...ask....you....to ...teach....me.....kido." He said his eyes showing a fire as pain burned in his throat yet.
Takehiko had to manage one more sentence if it cost him speaking forever that was fine. He wanted her to know why he'd gone to these extreme measures. To know why he came to her since a lack of kido experts were available to him. He just wished her to know it. She could turn him away at the end of it if she so chose. But this was likely to be his last words in a manner of speaking. Takehiko's neck had been treated and speaking came hard. So he generally didn't do at present for risk of further injury. But this was important to him more than learning Hoho. That was a means to save lives quickly and get to them. "I...wish...to save...lives...with....healing...kido.." He finished a sickening feeling in his stomach. As he breathed softly a small bead of sweat dripping down his brow. He didn't know where to start on this end. If she turned him down in the end.
He could do nothing for it but plead with her to help him save lives. But maybe she didn't care about medicine or healing people. What did he do if that was the case, did he return to his uncle? Ask him for help in learning how to use kido for saving lives? His options were her or else it didn't look pretty for him.

The Grand Witch
Hannah was in physiotherapy. Sou's attack had left her pretty crippled, and the healing she got, while fixing her body well enough, did nothing for her damaged Proprioception, the 'muscle memory' which could be lost after severe damage. So she was working to get that back, and also working on a small spiritual power thing in her off time. Together, she passed the time pretty well. And then, just as she was done with her walking for the day, a man came to her. She could instantly see his spiritual flow was distorted, and so when he started to speak, she held out a hand.
"Stop" she told him as the first word came out. "Every word out of your mouth damages that throat even further" she then turned around and looked...well, in his general direction. Blind eyes gazed towards him, but never locked onto anything. "I would suggest sign language, but my sight isn't that sharp. If you wish to talk, then we must first fix that throat of yours. The medic here is a student of mine. I've been teaching her some Gen-Kido. I doubt we'll fix that scar completely, it's too much and too long. But if you want, we can help you talking"

The Silent Kuchiki
Takehiko Kuchiki
His expression was one of surprise stopping now entirely when asked too. Takehiko didn't know how to communicate with her. So thinking he nodded softly so he could explain things. The Gotei had no healers at the moment and war loomed on the horizon. He didn't care about things like enemies or allies. Healers were needed in this world and that was important. Takehiko acknowledged skills he'd seen previously in records. Thus the massive risk he took in coming here even resulting in signing his uncle's name. It was needed at this moment the Gotei held Kido users, but none who specialized in healing. So if she could help him talk comfortably that would be good. He imagined his former voice wouldn't return as the damage was done. By a very considerable strike that had been measured and calculated. Takehiko wished strongly to save lives even to sacrifice his voice. He didn't care if his throat was damaged beyond repair if it meant convincing her. But perhaps seeing how they mended his throat could gain something.
The scar was fine, something to remind him of folly that he'd done. Till he could speak to her he would remain still and quiet. Letting her guide the conversation now so he could rest his sore throat. She sensed the damage done to it and could tell about the scar. Sign language was going to be rough for him. But he'd decided it best to wait. Giving at least a sign that he was alright with her student checking him. Seeing if she could mend it as he untied the scarf around his neck. Exposing the scar he'd gained from folly previously. Takehiko's journey had taught him many things. But perhaps most of all it taught him the path he wished for. The one which saved lives in the largest numbers. He wished to note take life but preserve it. He didn't have access to many things. Unohana's notes would have been most helpful in building a medical profile again. Takehiko would have to study them in his free time, whatever that was. Medicine had to become the interest here even in sustaining people's lives.
He hoped she agreed that life was precious and needed saving. That the Gotei's utter lack of a healer was troubling in the best of moments. Takehiko wanted to prove to them that medical skills were important. That not having a specialist in these regards was dangerous. For too long they'd gone without someone of Unohana's caliber. He didn't claim to be someone on par or even remotely near her. But perhaps he could educate himself and grow. Develop into a surgeon and skill medical personnel. He had his objective in heart at this moment and hoped that Hannah could sense his resolve at least to save people.

Words could no describe how angry Byakuya was at this moment. Not only had he failed to keep Takehiko from doing anything else reckless, like getting his throat cut open, but now he had crossed a line that he never thought he would cross -- going as far as to forge his signature and sneak out of the Manor and Soul Society as a whole in order to get into Karakura Prison to visit an inmate.
Thus, it wasn't long before the man had left Soul Society, his brow furrowed in anger as he quickly exited through a Senkaimon, entering the prison with little to no difficulty as his spiritual power rippled through the prison, causing many of the other inmates to back away as he silently made his way to Takehiko, his expression only slightly changed from the usual, as he stood mere feet from the young man, glaring daggers.
"First, you get your throat slit, and then you cross the line further by forging my signature to sneak out of the Manor for this. So, I hope you're very proud of yourself."
Unforgiving, with a voice and gaze as cold as ice, Byakuya stood in place with his hands behind his back as he awaited his nephew's response. But, regardless of what he said, his actions and the punishment he would execute for Takehiko stepping out of line would not be changing. Thus, while he had the chance to explain himself, it would matter little in the grand scheme of things.
"Multiple ways to go about learning Kido, and this is the option you chose? Utterly shameful, especially as a Kuchiki."

The Grand Witch
Heading to the doctors, she didn't get very far because the other Kuchiki was not being subtle. It was impossible to restrict a being's spiritual sense, only their spiritual power, and so she felt him coming from a long way off. Feeling him, she stopped Takehiko and just glared at him as well as a blind woman could glare until Byakuya arrived. His tongue was quite the blade with which he flensed Takehiko. Hannah just stood there, staring into nothing as only a blind woman could. But, she was of no care these days, so when Byakuya had finished talking, Hannah spoke up.
"He brings up very good points. This is a prison. I am a criminal. Level of ability with Kaido not withstanding, this is more the desperate last gasp than the first thing you try" She told him, before her eyes flicked somewhere in the general vicinity of Byakuya. Talking to someone who's eyes didn't quite meet your own but was still looking at you might be a new experience for him, but Hannah was hardly able to help being blind these days. "Though, if it is so bad up there he has to sneak into a prison to talk to a woman who's been gone a few centuries, then...Maybe some sort of work release program could be made?"

The Silent Kuchiki
Takehiko Kuchiki
Takehiko knew that presence and he knew it well. Chills ran through his body as he understood right away. This course he'd taken was unacceptable as a Kuchiki. Nobles did not turn to those here for aid. This was an action that had brought dishonor on himself. This left him one recourse which was to speak to Byakuya. His neck didn't look like it had been slashed but ripped out. From side to side it was a gruesome injury. Hannah knew already the danger of what he was about to do. Takehiko was certain his uncle would put an end to this. This entire thing was because of a single reason. He'd not take breathes in between his words this time as he did for her. He'd struggle and the sound coming from his mouth was as though his very larynx was ripping apart. It wasn't a pleasant sound nor did it sound normal." I...am a disgrace...to the Kuchiki...My weakness...brings shame upon my mother....and family." He swallowed blood now trying to finish the sentence. His uncle knew of everything he'd wagered.
Ulv's visit and the exchange they shared. The damage he'd done to himself in speaking again was painful. It felt like knives clawing his throat from the inside. But he would not disgrace himself and use sign language before Uncle Byakuya. He didn't wish to disgrace the family. So he became desperate to find a way to grow stronger. But in his desperation, he simply disgraced himself further. That was his own error. Finally gaining strength as he tried using the first Kata and breaking technique to lessen the pain. It wasn't designed to be used in such a way, but it did help him change his focus. " In....my desperation to grow and disgrace the family....no longer...I only succeeded in in...doing more damage...I am sorry Byakuya-sama." He'd done so much damage to his voice speaking ever again would be a pipe dream. He'd at least maintained his honor now talking to his uncle. Regret was clear in the young Kuchiki's eyes and words. He was ashamed of himself now understanding the level of his folly.
There had to of been better ways to go about it. Her honeyed offer of help was likely just that. He could sense Ruin in him stirring as she tried to soothe his pain. She was kind, far kinder then he deserved. He was a dishonorable wretch and it shamed him greatly. He wished to bring honor to his mother and the Kuchiki. By learning of medicine and kido perhaps he could of. But instead, he only dragged down their legacy even further. Had he known it would not bring his uncle greater displeasure. He'd of cried at this moment feeling emotionally ruined and anguish at himself. This was what he deserved at the end of the day to never speak again. It was the price he should have been made to pay. For causing his uncle this dishonor and displeasure. His excuses weren't good enough for what he did and he knew it. His expression showed he understood the gravity of his error in this regard. His vocal cords and words being sacrificed were the only way to make amends.
To repay the dishonorable action he had done. To give up the power of speech was the only way. It was the only thing of use he had available to him. He lacked power or anything of note. Takehiko could only offer his uncle the words he may not speak again. This was the only offering available to give the man he'd betrayed. The dagger in his heart would not leave him. Takehiko did not expect him to be pleased or this to magical make it better. But as a Kuchiki, he could only offer this aside from his life to his uncle.

While Byakuya was without a doubt furious, there was still a degree of softness that resided in him. Ever since Ichigo Kurosaki managed to chip away at his pride, even for a moment -- leading him to the moment where he protected his adopted sister, that small bit of care for the family that he had was within him, and as he watched his nephew turn to him and begin to speak. Silently stepping forward, one of Byakuya's hands slid from behind his back, reaching forward...and covering Takehiko's mouth.
"If you wish to ever have the luxury of speaking again, stop talking this instant."
Both of them would be able to hear his voice softening. There was still a heavy degree of coldness, but it was obvious that he didn't want the boy to cause further harm to himself. With a soft sigh, Byakuya stepped backward, his eyes closing as his hands went behind his back once again. Taking a brief glance toward Hannah as she weighed in with her own opinion, Byakuya's gaze swiftly turned back to Takehiko.
"I will consider it. As for you, Takehiko, we're leaving, now."
Turning around, he gestured for his nephew to follow as he began walking away. Placing a hand on his sword, he prepared to open a Senkaimon as he took a moment to briefly think about the punishment he would have to give his nephew for the multiple infractions that he had committed. So, as he drew his weapon and opened the gate back to Soul Society and the Kuchiki Manor, turning back to Takehiko.
"To put it simply, you're grounded for two weeks. After that time is over, you are not permitted to leave the Manor without my explicit permission and you are not allowed off the grounds without guards to accompany you. They will report back every single detail of what you do, to me. Are we clear?"
