It was if the world had melted away for a brief moment as that kiss was shared. Shuten had temporarily forgotten any embarrassment that had cropped up with the kiss; but it all came rushing back when Shuten finally was brought back from her small respite. She heard those words that Magnolia said, causing her face to color slowly; staring up at the woman before she smiled at her and chuckled. Magnolia really was a little tactless, but, maybe that was part of why Shuten didn't mind being hers; being her girlfriend. Sure, it was a little bit of a shaky start, but, she's getting better. Besides, in a time like this, having someone to love and hold was amazing. Soon, Shuten spoke very quietly to Magnolia; maybe it was a bit too fast, but, the world waited for no man or woman.
"Hmmm.. I think I might love you too, Magnolia; let's just not announce it to the world~ At least not this instant~"
She smiled at Magnolia, meaning well with her words before she turned her head to look at the people who had approached them. A man with blonde hair and a solemn expression. A woman with amber-gold eyes. And... Kuro?! Shuten had to blink her eyes a few times as she saw her Captain for brief moments before he disappeared into the ground below. She was about to say something about it before she looked to Magnolia; who clearly knew that Kuro was there. Her poor captain, alongside Henrex, definitely would not make it out of this war completely unscathed. She let out a soft sigh before shaking her head and looking around at the assembled group; one of which seemed quite curious about her. However, Magnolia beat Shuten to the punch.
Magnolia had answered for her, that she was Shuten Suika, girlfriend of Magnolia, and sister of Ibiki Suika; Head Captain of the Gotei. A blush rose on Shuten's cheeks once more as Magnolia spoke, but she did not look away from Midori as she raises a hand in greeting gingerly; deciding to stay quiet. this was more of Midori's exchange than hers; she saw no reason to interrupt. So, the Suika stayed in the arms of her girlfriend, watching everyone carefully; but with optimism. They had all assembled to celebrate their victory over Shadowfall. After all, it wasn't often you freed people from tyrants, now was it?

THE REMORSELESS HEROINE
Before Midori could kowtow to show her respect, it would seem as though Magnolia had felt such an action to be unnecessary. Midori nodded softly, standing with firm resolve as she continued to gaze upon Magnolia, admiring how mighty a warrior she was.
To fight beside her would surely be an honor. Even though some would say she had lost her path of the righteous way, Midori was nevertheless a resilient warrior whose heart still burned with the hope of igniting a revolution, to take back what was ripped from their grasp and allow the new generation to prosper.
The notion of heroics had long since fallen in her heart but she could not help but to grandly imagine the thought of passing the torch to someone like Magnolia. The new generation and the old generation combined... only a truly cynical soul would fail to admire such a profound thought as this.
Midori listened intently as Magnolia spoke. There was no sense of undeserved bravado or overconfident vision, her mind had been defined since she was young - to know what it truly took to fight against the terrors of life and overcome the obstacle. Midori envied her ever so slightly, her sense of self and will admirable. The raven-haired woman's gaze momentarily shot back at Shuten as Magnolia introduced her and Midori arched an eyebrow in surprise.
She had not personally met Ibiki Suika but there was no denying how resounding her presence was. After all, not many could pull Soul Society from the brink of obscurity back into significance. She was yet another warrior to be admired. Her gaze returned to Magnolia shortly after.
"Victoria is nothing short of a beautiful name, befitting as you guide this capital into a new age. As warriors, we are often faced with insurmountable trials that test our will and seek to break it, and yet gazing upon women like you who fearlessly took back what belonged to earth, inspires even me to continue fighting. There may indeed be no winners in war, but I am certain the end of this hellish war will suffice to those who have lost so much. Magnolia... It would be an honor to actively fight at your side and aid you on the battlefield. If you wish to utilize our resources, they are yours whenever you are in need of them. "
Midori gazed upon the joyful expressions along with Magnolia as she stood beside her.
"To see this expression is one I sincerely hope the entire realm of earth can share in. "

Ah.. so this is what it means to feel baseless joy." The faint words that shuten had said warmed her heart. Her golden eyes softened, and her lips curved into a gentle, phantom of a smile as she'd respond by giving her the softest of squeezes. Her golden eyes ranged by Midori and focused on Carter. A sigh escaped her lips as she'd raised one of the arms that had encircled her love to beckon him over.
"We have a war to win, I can't... be pitiful, can I? Right, Raijin?" Magnolia thought faintly as her golden eyes studied Midori. She spoke of the beauty of the name, how magnolia could help guide this country into prosperity. A bemused, but pained smile graced her lips.
" These people... they don't need my guidance to live fulfilling lives. If anything, me being here would be more harm then help, if they cannot become strong without our help then they will merely continue to be oppressed. " Magnolia's words were somber as she looked out at the people that continued to weep over the graves of the newly departed.
" In a perfect world, there would be no need for war, there would be no tyranny nor would there be oppression. However, this world, like many is imperfect; It is a world where strife is constant. " Magnolia sighed, and she would glance past midori, towards the mountains. Her eyes studying the snowcapped peaks as she seemed lost in thought before she had started speaking once more.
" I will help this nation free itself from the outside force that has oppressed it. Then I will let it do what we all should be doing, letting those who are native to this land decide how it's run. As members of the gotei, our job is to protect the balance of the soul cycle. Seeing them happy, well, that's just icing on the cake." Magnolia smiled some as she then turned her head, her demeanor changing as she let out a weary sigh.
