Process of Illumination

Mitsuyo's mind seemed to wonder aimlessly, as he was trying to think of the situation that had occurred in his recent meditation. As he took long strides, his head hung downward, his mind lost in thoughts as he grumbled and murmured to himself about what he had seen.


"I have... another spirit?... No that can't be it. Suzy would have shown me her by now... So... does that mean she's been lying... but that wouldn't make sense either...Speaking of Suzy... where has she been... she left ever since... *it* showed up in here..."

His over thinking drove him into lock up of anxiety, causing him to take out his flute tucked away in his pants and play it softly, as he still thought.

As the flute brought him back to living within the moment he began to ponder at the scenery around him. The harbour appeared to be some what peaceful, as there were very few faces scattered along the docks. The sun shown itself brightly behind a wisp of a cloud that masked over it, and other than that cloud there seemed to be no others in sight on this day. The wind was the only main issue, blowing itself hard enough to sometimes make him play out of key, because of how much force blew on top of it from time to time. It also caused his hair to loosen from it's ties because of the length of his bushy ponytail trying to keep itself up right in the mild winds.

"Missy-yo, I like your your song!"

A soft child's voice interrupted as he was playing, causing him to make his already out of tune play, even more out of tune as he became startled by the new voice.

"Teehee~! I didn' mean na scare you~!"

He sighed and shook his head, groaning softly as he heard her voice. Unlike the internal voice he hears from Sumire that soothes him and helps him think more freely, this voice was loud and jumbled his thoughts, and sometimes made him loose his train of thought, which annoyed him even more.

"Ya didn't scare me you little brat...you need to find a volume button though... " he spoke out loud as he put his flute away and folded his arms. He then walked over to a banister and rested both of his elbows onto it, as he started to massage his temples and sighed again.

"The hell am I going to do with you..." he mumbled to himself out loud as he looked down onto the shoreline.

Mitsuyo heard the words and sighed, his mind became so used to constant chatter with his hollow and his mind, that he assumed that the voice was another spirit inside his mind. When he heard the voice he shut his eyes slowly and shook his head.

"No no... no. There are not more of you. Please... tell me there are no- wait..."

He spoke as he reopened his eyes and felt an external energy pressing itself on the side of his body almost instantaneously and was taken back by it. As he looked over to where the energy sprouted from he continued to hear the voice as she introduced herself. His face of annoyance as stress faded away taking in one last deep breath before speaking to her. He grabbed the hand and began to offer the hand shake, then clasped his other hand over top and shook a bit more violently, partly being from letting out tension from hearing so many voices at once and the slight jump scare.

"Nami, Mitsuyo Nami. Seated Officer of the 3rd Division in the Gotei. I am so glad to see you. Well... I don't know you but you know... like random voice out of no where... and since you said something about my "Friend" you kinda heard her too.. so she's been nagging and harrassing non-stop and it's been...*sigh* A lot..." his hand shake lingering longer and longer as he spoke and rambled, it was almost as if there was a "gauge" within his body slowly releasing itself as he spoke. His jaw seemed to relax into a smile, then his shoulders dropped. By the time he did his sigh, his knees formed a slight bend to them, rather than being locked in place. When his body seemed to relax indefinitely. He let go of her hand and folded his arms across himself, with another slump of stress, dropping as they rested in place.

"So wait... er... drastic? Like... how drastic are we talkin' here?"

Mitsuyo paused for a moment to really think back onto his academy days. A lot of it he remembered toning out, and only really grabbing the information need to "pass" but not really concerned of the practicality of it all. He then remembered who coaxed him into joining the academy so they could past with one another and sadly she didn't make it with him, thus causing his expression to become slightly more sullen as he spoke.

"They probably did, but It was probably one of those days I just let the lecture become background noise... I... didn't even know it was a hollow. It never seemed to show up before, I thought it was some type of extra spirit I had once I learned shikai."

The hollow's reiastu seemed to enhance itself in strength as he spoke about it though the form of take over seemed strange. As opposed to making him keel and wince in pain, it instead masked that take over and made him feel open to the change, rather than fight against it. His eyes dilated slightly as he spoke again.

"Plus, the spirit looks too small and innocent to even be some type of a threat to me... I mean, look at 'er!" He spoke as he pointed onto his shoulders. To him, he saw a small child sitting on his shoulders swinging its legs back and forth and swaying side to side. The child to him was a pale-skinned girl, with gleaming red eyes. Her eyes shined bright enough, to cause her cool-white hair to reflect that red light back, making it look like her hair was highlighted magenta. To him he then heard the child giggle as he referenced her innocence

Although all this occurred externally it looked as though he was loosing it. As an external reaction to the child sitting on his shoulders, his body slumped downward slightly, truly confirming his dilated pupils, with his auburn colored eyes, made the dilation even more noticeable. When he pointed and said in excitement to "look at her" he pointed to nothing, nothing was truly sitting on his shoulders but his face even smiled and turned upwards as though he were looking up to the hollow child.

He then turned back from his smiling expression and only spoke, "You wouldn't hurt such a face, would you?" the smile that he had once he spoke seemingly being forced, as the corners of his mouth jittered as though he was trying to close his mouth, but the spirit simply wouldn't let him in hopes to keep the facade of nothing being wrong.

His facial expression started to rest itself. The tone of how she spoke "It is, after all, your life.", made him question internally. Is this spirit truly out to kill me?... It didn't feel like it at the time but as he perked up from her punctuated sentence, he began to notice his posture and demeanor a bit more carefully. He usually smiles as a way for being carefree and jovial, however here, he noted that his smile didn't feel genuine, and began to question why he was even smiling in the first place. He noticed the crane in his neck from the tension of this new entity taking hold of him and forced himself to straighten up. But as he straighten he heard the voice again.

"I won kill you silly~ I just wanna play! Sumy never plays wif me, so... I hope you will!"

He took a deep breath in and slowly shook his head, feeling that what the entity said was true since it referenced a nickname for his zanpakuto spirit, Sumire. But the thought of this thing possibly lying to him made him uneasy.

"I'd probably take your side... but life is a pretty harsh thing someone can just "play" with..." he spoke externally, as though this entity was standing next to him, even turning his head slightly to make it look like he was talking to the entity while it was on his shoulders. He then turned his head to Ulv, and folded his arms over again to try to recompose himself.

"Alright... So this hulking out is s'posed to be the worse part of it all, right?"

He sighed, not knowing what to expect for the conflict internally. He knew some type of fight for control would take place, but the entity formed itself into a combination the two things he claim he would never hurt physically; a child and a girl. As he thought this over, his mind fell silent for a moment, and for once this was a moment in which nothing seemed to resonate, and he was finally alone with his thoughts rather than this spirit or his zanpakuto spirit invading into his thought process.

"Huh.. i see." He took in a deep breath pondering the clashing of the energies, as his memory began to jog back vaguely about the presence of Hollows and how to be noted of them. He then heard her reply to his state and simply put his thumb and index on the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes.

"When did I ever say any of that? And what does a "Tatsuya" have to do with this? ... All I know is that you seem to know what's going on with me, and you seem to know more about this than I cared to pay attention to. Honestly, I didn't even know I had this thing in me, this hollow never shown itself through all of my time here, and then out of no where, when I finally learn my shikai, this thing shows up in my life. All I'm trying to do is figure out the quickest way to move on with the least amount of harm done." He backed away and propped himself on a banister near by to try to collect himself as his mind chatter started to re-surface itself. "And can ya not throw around my life as a poking stick for me to listen to... that's not something I'll respond well to, especially from someone who just appeared here out a' no where as an introduction."
