Artist: Undertale OST - Song: Your Best Friend - Word Count: 914
Ulv's energy shone like a beacon in the gloom; the vibrant rays of flame churned relentlessly against the inky darkness, as powerful as the fiery light was, however, it only would illuminate a hundred-meters around Ulv's avatar. This darkness while not malevolent, was much denser than the grays that preceded them.
As Ulv's energy permeated further into the gloom, the resonance of power would grow stronger. It was like a parched plant which was suddenly getting much-needed nourishment. It would pull at the energy that was exerted towards it, and as it did the sound of a beating heart could be heard within the darkness.
It was faint at first, negligibly so, however as time went on the sound of that heartbeat would grow stronger. The amethyst eyes that opened when Ulv intruded in this world would shift faintly open once more, peering out from the gloom from behind heavy-set lashes.
"where am I." The faint thought fluttered upon this remnant self's slowly strengthening consciousness.
"Who am I?' the faded remnant self began to strengthen more rapidly, the rusted onyx chains that bound her began to erode.
For Ulv, there wouldn't be any external signs of something shifting; the darkness remained prevalent. However, the energy released by Ulv was continually being siphoned off, it had to be going
somewhere. This state of nothingness would persist for what seemed like days within that internal world until the first sign of change would occur.
The fragments that had lingered in the periphery of Inami's mind could be seen converging inwards. The phantom images of people, places and things fell into that endless void that lay before ulv. They all seemed to be congregating in the endless void. This would persist for what seemed like days, maybe a week would pass by within the realm of inami's mind.
The fog would not fade, but on what would be perceived as the "seventh day" the next shift would occur. The malevolent presence was drawing near, with it's churning waves of midnight black it would rush past Ulv, like a loyal dog rushing inward to meet its master. The darkness now had a gravity to it, and the drain it would impose upon the golden flame that resonated within the soul of remnant would grow stronger.
Soon within that remnant, the most recent of memories would return; She indeed had a lover, a girl whose golden hair shone resplendently like the most precious of metals. Whose existence had started out as a nuisance, a problematic creature who had merely invoked bemusement within her? Then, at some point, it had shifted, from acceptance to something greater; it had taken her some time before she had figured out the emotion: Love.
She felt the anguish of when that love was taken from her. It was at that moment that a lone tear slipped from those captivating amethyst eyes, as the memories continued to be rebuilt.
after two days had passed within that mindscape, memories of her castle would begin to return, memories of Cyng who had come to her abode once returned. Memories of Ulv, who had shown up one day to help her would slowly return; she recalled her frustration towards the woman, who had for a reason she could not remember vexed her to no end. She remembered her initial disdain, and gradual acceptance for the woman's existence, which transitioned into an unlikely comradery.
Memories of her fight with Mana followed, the feeling of indignation and unwillingness for the path the queen had put their world upon resurfaced in her thoughts. Inami could not yet place the emotions that she felt against her eldest sister; Inami's memories were coming back faster now.
Memories of Sou Yuuki and their battle on planet nabla returned soon after; she remembered: Khala, Kuanastha, and her daughters that had vanished; great sorrow pervaded Inami's being as she remembered these things. However, nothing could compare to the soul-shattering pain of the memories that followed.
Memories of Neoveta returned; The girl who nursed her back to health after the great war in Australia. The girl who allowed her to think that the world was worth getting involved in, that maybe equality could be reached between the many races of their diverse realms. She remembered how Neoveta was killed by her mother, Mana; how the life of her eldest sisters daughter was merely a tool to open up her perfect realm.
Inverse Neoveta had shown up soon after, giving her a cowards way out from the anger and agony that sought to consume and drive her insane; How she had been tricked into bearing the mantle of her sisters realm, how she came to bear the soul dysnomia.
As these memories returned, Ulv would soon notice that the Oorja energy that ran rampant in the air would begin to be sucked inwards, the chaotic disruptive force that came from the inverse realm would struggle futilely; Inevitably, it vanished into the abyss.
Once all the memories of Inami's recent life resurfaced, the recollection of her self would slam into a wall. It would be then that the greatest pull on Ulv's power would occur; many months would pass in the mind-scape around them, building up to this tyrannical surge of power. Even with Ulv's reserves, this would threaten to drain the last bit of energy from her; the mist in the entirety of the mindscape would suck inwards, plunging into the abyss.
Only then, at that moment would the final hurdle that was blocking her from the most archaic of her memories would finally break. What would be left in its wake was not the darkness, nor the malevolence, the souls and fragments had vanished, and in the darkness dragonic eyes would stare out upon the dusk as a smile adorned their lips. Only then would a sentimental look encapsulate the dragon womans face.
"My ruler, you have finally awoken." The voice was faded, as the woman with the dragonic eyes would fade slowly into the abyss.
Those amethyst eyes would open fully within the realm of Inami's mind as the memories of her past, were reassimilated into her being.
"My family... Is gone. "The dry voice echoed, emotionally unsure as those amethyst eyes fell on the golden avatar that lay at the periphery of the abyss.
The aura that rolled from inami was not chaotic, it was not the whimsical aura that had covered Inami asthavon, Queen of chaya nation. It was something far stronger, and much ancienter. The Aura of a ruler resided within those purple eyes.
" Why did you awaken me?"[b] There was no anger in Inami's voice, there was an oddly measured manner in the way that she spoke. A soft warmth and contained grace that was befitting of someone of the ruling class.
Her eyes would stare upwards in this inner realm of hers as if she could peer into the heavens.
[b]"Deveta, Is this your will?" A sigh escaped her lips as she took a step that traversed a thousand leagues, appearing from the endless abyss to appear next to the flaming avatar. Her amethyst eyes looking sidelong at the woman.
"Shall we leave this realm of dreams and memories?" Inami said faintly, as her form disappeared like a flickering wisp of smoke to the realm of demons.
