Hayden never forgot his roots. He was a shinigami, at the end of the day before he was with the Vanguard- before he was a great figure- he was a mere soldier in the Gotei. But that was many years ago and the men he had served with where either long dead or promoted to grounds high above his station. But that did not stop the occassional news about the Gotei to reach his ear- and with the formation of the EA division he may as well pay a stop by.

In accordance with some formality he had given them a three day notice he'd be visiting, specifically that division in question. He figured it would be nice to give them some time to prepare since he made it clear he wanted to talk about the future of Vastime and this division- including the Gotei. It would be at this time he'd enter into the office, eyes scanning for the supposed captain or whoever he was supposed to meet.

It was of course, the Captain Haori which gave it away. A woman who's hair was in a ponytail. It was that person he'd approach.

"Excuse me, I'm Desmond Hayden- I believe you are the person I am seeking."

Murasaki was, of course, kinda busy. A new captain with barely any members, let alone officers or a vice captain, was a captain with a lot on her plate. She was definitely a bit scatterbrained lately, and as such, any three day notice of a visit was presumably lost in her mail pile, likely with anything else she'd figured didn't need her attention right that very second. It was hard bein' a busy girl, after all.

So, naturally, when the big guy came up like he was supposed to be here (he was), naturally the verdant-haired captain was just a touch confused. She had to take a pause, briefly run a hand through her hair as if to ground herself, and turn all her attention to the shorter man, who still seemed like he had some presence despite their difference in height. That was neat. Not really her type though.

“Well uh, nice to meetcha, Mister Hayden. Whatcha need from me? I'm a little busy these days."

"It seemed appropriate for me to meet with this division leader, regarding the future of the Gotei and Vastime, Captain Murasaki. Well, more importantly establishing exactly the nature of how my nation, and how the Gotei plan to interact. If at all."

Hayden had indeed picked up on just a little bit she was confused, which all things considered could be because of various things. But eventually he could deduce that the ghost of a division most likely made it hard to jungle the endless duties she had. For a moment, he felt bad he was here no doubt adding to an unknown work load- but she was a captain and he was sure she was capable. It wasn't like the Gotei where known for electing questionable people into leadership positions.

The man would extend a hand for a moment, before curling his forearm a bit pulling it back. His own confused look coming onto his face for a hot second, looking up at the woman he'd let an uneasy chuckle out. "I don't know if I'm supposed to bow, or shake your hand." He'd remark genuinely, it had been so long since he formally met with someone from the gotei their customs where foreign to him. But he was making an effort before settling on whatever she told him.

“Ahhh, don't call me Captain Murasaki. That sounds weird. If you wanna be formal it'd be Captain Kagayaku, but I really just prefer Murasaki. Uh... If you wanna meet, we can head over to my office, but we might as well talk on the way.”

Leading the way, she seemed a bit distracted, which made sense considering the amount of goings-on she was currently keeping track of. Naturally she did her best to keep her attention on the Little Prince, but it really was kinda hard to keep track of all that. So she walked, a spring in her step and a smile on her face, and decided that if they were gonna have any conversation, it'd be something he came up with. Her brain was a liiiiittle too fried for that right now.

“I don't really do bows or handshakes either. I guess if you really wanna we can when we get to my office, but I'd rather just offer ya tea or something. That's a lot more personable, I think.”

"Ah. Murasaki then."

Desmond seemed to catch himself, before falling into his own stride next to her as they walked to her office. The girl sure was.. preppy. Was that the word? He didn't quite know but he could appreciate the personability she had. None the less once they made it to the office he'd simply wave his hand dismissively. There was no point in pursuing those formalities if she didn't want to.

"No it's fine, tea would be appreciated. I'm all to aware that I come from a place where the norms might be a bit different, so I don't want to offend is all."

That seemed well enough, he'd take note of the office. Once they got settled in and sat down, whatever was needed to make the setting move onto the next discussion. While the tea was being prepared he'd begin to speak, figuring it was best to move to business.

"I do not know how much you know of the dynamic between Vastime and the Gotei in the past, but we share a few common members. Abalia, and Henrex. As much as I know from experience the gotei favors going about the work without interference, I think in the upcoming conflicts it would be best we establish a permanent relationship between our Vastime and the Gotei."
