The Dragon Rising

Oda Tatsuya
おだ たつや

He'd sent a letter on ahead of him and knew it would take some time for him to arrive. His pupil did send a letter of introduction after being scolded for doing so. Something wasn't right about Tsubasa and he knew it from just looking. What had this world done to him in such a way that it didn't repair easily? His eyes looked deep in thought as he moved into the Rukongai reflecting on the letter sent to the Gotei. It didn't matter who obtained it or why this meeting was to determine the fate of the Unabara. The letter stated the following, to the organization sending a forward notification of his arrival. "Dear Gotei United, I represent the faction far beyond the Rukongai and have come into the possession of things belonging to my student Tsubasa Unabara. His nature was troubling so I wish to send forward notice of my arrival. I request a guide if it's not to much trouble. My name is Tatsuya Oda, of the Oda Clan and I will be arriving in three days time. I am sincerely grateful for whatever services you can provide. "

Tatsuya had left Sachiko and Kagami behind to manage things in his absence. He found his way towards the location where the Seireitai was divided from the Rukongai. Wearing his kimono over his combat armor as he believed that rude. His features were clearly a man who saw a lot of action. Damien had left a letter of introduction for him as well. Tatsuya's physical prowess did deserve some praise and the scars that covered him told a tale. The tale of a man who decided to walk into a woodchipper maybe. This was only the arrival for him to a new land and place. It was so different from the regular world around New Honoji. People seemed friendly and willing to answer questions. His zanpakuto hung on his belt as he inhaled softly. The big question on his mind was what to do about the situation in general. The Unabara's perception around here was strange as some liked Tsubasa and some downright hated him. Had he lost his way that much from everything he'd taught him?

The entire thing was alarming on so many levels as he couldn't get a perception for a Gotei member. Tsubasa's description of the clan's set up with strange and counterproductive truthfully. Tatsuya didn't know how one with so much power became so blinded. Tatsuya knew from a glance Tsubasa was beyond his power at this point, perhaps not beyond his wisdom. Because in the end Tsubasa was still very young and lacked in age and experience. His facial expression remained troubled as he couldn't decipher it all of what happened here. What had his pupil done to these kind people and those beyond the walls? How had he offended and why hadn't he made amends yet? Such was the train of thoughts as he leaned his head back as he sat down and waited. Someone would show up sooner or later he hoped. But if not he could enjoy the peaceful sounds of this city. His eyes gazed to the Seireitei. "Nobu, what do you think of this situation." The A.I responded with its regular voice of a female with a strong backbone or perhaps just that of confidence in general. "Nothing in general stands out, they are normal farm folk like home."

Tatsuya's breath exhaled softly as he figured as much in the long run. They didn't have a ton of spiritual pressure from what the A.I could detect. The damn thing gave him a headache sometimes. But it was his student's last requests as an honorable man. He couldn't turn it down as he knew Tsubasa was leaving and not likely to return to this place. His sword had forgotten to return to its sheath, in that way it became dull. People were like blades and they needed to return to the sheath or they would rust and chip away. Tsubasa had eroded and rusted away, so much power but so little left of the man he met so long ago. It was consumed by something here perhaps, or maybe that darkness simply lingered. Questions for another time as Tatsuya's gaze shifted slowly to the gate and awaiting someone's arrival. This was after all his first day here in the Rukongai, surely he'd not be waiting too long.

The summer sun beat upon her back relentlessly, forcing beads of sweat down her forehead. She was just strolling in the Rukongai; yet she was so tired. The ball of fire in sky blazed a brilliant amber, so bright that she could not admire it for long. Quickening my her pace, she realized that she should have gone swimming instead of taking a walk. She sighed and wipe sweat from my forehead. After all, swimming in hot weather and cooling down always brought much joy.

Regardless the girl pressed on and looked around the rukongai to see if anything interesting was happening, minutes passed perhaps she should go back to her barracks..until mshe stopped ontop of a building and could sense something unfamiliar it had the spiritual pressure of a shinigami but it was faint curiously she headed towards its direction to see whats up.

Something caught her eye a new soul at the gates of Rukongai standing there with what appeared to be an A.I companion. Getting a closer look at the man she noticed right away that he was a fair few inches taller than her, which wasn't surprising, he had a slim but muscular frame with curls that were midnight black and his eyes were amber, framed by graceful brows. His skin was tanned. He had prominent cheekbones and a well-defined chin and nose chin and nose with the kind of face that stopped would make anyone stop in their tracks.

Regardless like anyone who's new too the rukongai she decided it was best if she was the one to help him know his way around the area, heck maybe they can have a little chitchat while they walk.
The girl walked up to the stranger introduced herself and asked if was in need of assistance. "Hello, i'm Momo Hinamori. And i notice that you were looking a bit confused, are you lost? If so i can help you if you'd like." she said happily smiling, if the man looked closely he could see the way her teeth are perfectly aligned and how the warm glow of her happiness gave her smile was a ray of sunshine.

He detected the coming of someone as he leaned his head back a bit. He looked at the female who'd arrived. She was interesting and different from any in his homeland. She held a certain grace and curiosity that wasn't found at home. It had long since been proven in their homeland curiosity had a way of killing people. But regardless she had come and asked a question of him. "I am Tatsuya Oda, as for my confusion it's hard to explain." He said itching as his head softly thinking for a moment before lowering his hand. "I had a really good friend and the person I helped train when he was young. He lost his way and fell to a point that I wonder if I can make amends for him. Sometimes everyone needs a little bit of help..sorry I am rambling on, that's very rude of me." He said stopping himself from continuing his old man rambling. Tatsuya got up and politely bowed to the woman showing his manners. He was a guest in these lands and it was prudent to not be disrespectful to anyone. The A.I that was with him vanished into his head before he smiled somewhat sadly.

Was this his guide was the main question, he rubbed his chin thinking. Before a voice chimed in and a beautiful woman appeared coming from behind him. She wore a blue dress and had lovely features. But an unnatural heat came from her body as she stood to put her arms on either side of him. Tatsu, just ask her if it's still troubling you..She seem's like a lovely young lady. Tatsuya's zanpakuto had manifested herself to speak plainly to her wielder for a moment and show her ankle long auburn hair and appearance. " This is my zanpakuto, Amateratsu. What she is not so delicately trying to ask is what is your impression of the Unabara Clan?" It didn't matter if she said she had none. But he was interested in finding the public opinion and organization view. How had many hopes and such Tsubasa betrayed in everything? Had he truly crossed a line that no amount of amends would make up for?

The question was did he fight this situation for the pupil who lost the will to fight? Tsubasa had lost the will to do anything even live to an extent. Had he not handled it he was certain Tsubasa would have committed seppuku. Which was entirely unnecessary from what he could tell the damage wasn't endless. He needed to also meet those who sat within the ranks of the clan. But for now, he needed to await being accepted into the Seireitei properly. The woman turned into a whisper of air before returning into his sword. He sighed patting his zanpakuto, she was a better talker than he was. Talking just wasn't one of Tatsuya's strengths. Charismatic and all that stuff was for others. He knew people who could sell ice to Eskimos if you'd forgive the poor pun. He just wasn't that guy, he could only let his actions speak for him. His scars ached though not Damien's which meant it was going to be a long period. Some people's joints hurt before the rain, for Tatsuya, it was his scars. Each one seemed to ache on different occasions.

They didn't qualify as senses or even alerts as they could take years to even work in that case. Tatsuya looked at her offering his normal smile as he sort of wished Sachiko was here at this point. He was terrible at small talk and that sort of stuff in general.

Momo began to listen to Tetsuya's words and reasoning for coming here in the first place, not only was he looking to find his trainee by the name Tsubasa but also send his letter towards the gotei hoping that it would get the word across the sereitei. While the girl wanted to know what the note was for she decided to after all it is rude to be im someone else's business, regardless she was willing to help him since its generally the kind thing to do especially towards a newbie.

"Its nice to meet you Tatsuya. she said before smiling once more taking notice of his shyness he reminded her of herself when she was young..first joining the gotei and now the academy she was smart but hesitant to talk to others but now she's grown up and hopefully once he's accustomed to the Rukonhai will can open up and make friends as well.

"Its nice to meet you as well Amateratsu. This is my zanpaktou spirit Tobiume." her zanpaktou began to manifestes itself instantly showing that she was the complete reminiscent of traditional Japanese women. Her hair was a cylinder-shaped clip on one individual bang, with a hairpin, also wearing sports a white kimono jacket and purple hakama, which is held together by the light yellow bow sash around her waist, flaring out into two long ribbons at the end. . before whispering in Momo's ear before returning back to its inner world. Tatsuya wouldn't be able to hear it but it was along the lines of "I don't trust him" and "Be careful" which Momo promptly ignored, after all he had a generally nice demeanor with great respect for those around him.

"Come now, follow me. I'll be your tour guide for the day Tatsuya. she said giggling softly before turning around motioning for the man to follow her.

His expression saddened, so it was as he feared. The Clan despite being a noble family had that little of an impression. Truly it was a sad turn of events as he rubbed his chin. Was it worth saving them from the fall coming or should he allow it to happen? That wasn't the right thing to do was it, perhaps the Unabara had their time in the sun. "I see, thank you for guiding me." Tatsuya's zanpakuto spirit would speak silently to him alone. "Tatsu, it doesn't automatically mean bad things if a person doesn't know the man's family. She may not get around as much or pay attention to Noble Families outside of one's she deals with." She said leaving their thoughts to a private conversation as he closed his Auburn eyes. The perception wasn't promising his meeting with the last member of the clan wouldn't be productive at this rate. Tatsuya guessed Sachiko was right about one thing, the past was what remained for the Unabara. Clans that lived in the past died in the past was her saying.

You had to embrace the present to truly survive in an era. Tatsuya wasn't an inventor or a brilliant thinker. He was just a guy like anyone else who fought on frontlines and battlefields. He didn't understand politics or clever things like that perfectly. He was straightforward with everything and didn't beat around bushes if he could help it. "The people are happy here, that's good. I normally help people in our land with farming when I can. But sadly those lands have more need for warriors then farmers." He said speaking of New Honoji to the girl now as he looked at her. She was capable and strong that was for sure from what he could tell. She'd seen something that would test a person's mettle in so many ways. He knew that look from experience of having grown up in trying times. He'd not bring any trouble here or even draw his sword while here. That was a promise he made to himself upon arriving. These people did not need conflict or strife in their lands.

They needed only peace from that outer conflict. It was strange the closer you got to the Seireitei the more the chaos died down. People became less violent and more human. Though not many took a swing at Tatsuya due to his appearance. He looked frightened and had an appearance that could intimidate cowards away. Not just that something about Tatsuya generally intimidated those types. Despite being a nice guy he just had a reputation in those parts for previous bouts. Fighting Damien Crow and the Unabara Family during their hay day as assassins. Lead on Miss Hinamori." He said smiling politely as he waited to follow her lead and not step a toe out of bounds. Tatsuya wasn't truly that shy of a man. He was just difficult to understand as right now his mind was deep in thought. On the fate that should befall the Noble Unabara Family. The word clan had always annoyed him for some reason. They weren't a clan, clans weren't of blood or those who swore to stand next to one another.

Momo then lead the way as she pointed various buildings explaining what they were and the history behind it..she was now the official tour guide for the shinigami, maybe she could give him a friendly picnic basket of rewards once all this is over?

Most people in the rukongai were people from all corners of the world; after all, it is the first place a new soul goes heck it could be a a renowned tourist attraction, and was often visited at this time if the year. If Tatsuya looked around he would see that there were the Westerners: their blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin and distinct accents distinguishing them from the crowd. There were various clusters of Asians; each group trailing their specific flag as their tour guide babbled excitedly about the sights in some incomprehensible language.

A few of them shoved their way past with no regard whatsoever, oblivious to the grumbling on their insensitiveness. "It's great to have someone like you take their part in helping the citizens of Karakura and the Sereitei as a whole. You should join one of the divisions if your feeling adventurous. she said, smiling at Tatsuya once more wondering what his speciality was..maybe he was a pronound kido user such as herself or maybe someone who has profound intellect like Toshiro? Who knows but hopefully he'll find a division to call home.

"So tell me Tatsuya. What
made you the man you are today?
she asked, curious as to what has become on this one perhaps he had a simple childhood with a mother and father who both care deeply for him or maybe its very similar to her own..a shy but strong shinigami who was then betrayed and manipulated by someone she called a friend..

He didn't go to his own world as the female spoke and took each word in. Tatsuya was an excellent listener after all. Able to connect and listen to people at a glance. But he didn't do that either truthfully he provided one hundred percent undivided attention. This place had a rich history and culture that was defined not by bloodshed and battle. But by something else entirely that couldn't be defined by simple swords. It was a place worth protecting and fighting for in the long run. So his student did something good in the long run. Perhaps if he stopped for a moment to see what he was protecting. What culture he allowed Tsubasa wouldn't have fallen so far. There were lives here and precious things to protect. Flowers that could grow away from the battlefield and bloom into something else. They had the potential to live and perhaps go far beyond the horizon and become more. He saw different walks and people here from areas few had visited. He'd seen the living world on occasion and was aware of the differences cultures of the world and seen a few strange ducks in his day.

She mentioned Divisions as he listened he thought about that. It must have been the branches of the military they used. Something akin to the status of each person perhaps or something like that. "I might, my pupil Tsubasa was a member of the Gotei. I'd like to know what he did in that place." He said smiling a bit as she asked an interesting question. She wanted to know what made him who he was today. That was a tough question, most could answer it was a rough upbringing. He brought his hand to his chin thinking about it for a moment. "Hm, well I grew up in a place far from the furthermost District of the Rukongai. The Zaraki District is several thousands of miles from us as you go further out. We live far in the outlands that's my home of origin." He said making sure she'd been keeping up and pausing slowly. Not to be rude or anything but he didn't want to overload her.

"In those lands, well things weren't easy growing up. I've seen a lot of people who were like animals and lived as such. But much like here if you plant a seed and wait with enough love and care something will grow. So while I can tell you it was combat and fighting for each day. Training relentlessly for something each moment to find a different thing...Well, see for yourself." He said lifting an arm slightly and removing his top. He had three visible scars on his face that could be seen. Two under his left ear and one from his nose that had been a rough injury. But if someone looked down they'd see something entirely different. As you went down his neck you'd see injuries that were ghastly. Surviving them should have been impossible but it wasn't due to many reasons. His chest had punctures, cuts, many different injuries one could see. From his arms and shoulders, she could see every inch of the damage inflicted on him. He was in good shape though muscle wise.

Tatsuya appeared to be extremely fit almost on an inhuman level. He covered himself up and smiled a bit. "We all walk hard roads, sometimes you take a couple bumps along the way. It's how we get up and keep going that's important in the long run. Fifteen Hundred Years gives you some advantages in terms of experience." He said shrugging his shoulders lightly. Not paying much mind to those around him and their reactions. This was just so she could see what kind of land he came from. Zaraki was far and so was the law of the Rukongai. "I may take you up on that after my business is concluded, this land is beautiful and our land could learn much from it. " He said softly smiling not bringing up that his mother choked a man to death while he was nursing. That he was covered in blood from his youth and suffered rape among other things. He just didn't have a perfect upbringing or anything similar to it and did suffer trauma on several different levels.

"Well i don't know much about this Tsubasa person but i've heard he's done some very good things." she said looking at the man who placed a finger on his chin.

"A division several thousand miles from the Zaraki District huh.." she said to herself..

Momo watched as Tatsuya removed the top of his kimono revealing his a variety of distinguishing scars starting from his face and similar to the scars of Kenpachi although each puncture, slash, cut showed that he's been through what seemed to be centuries.

Momo wasn't flustered per say after all she's seen alot of men with distinguishing muscle and physique..hearing him say that life is a road with hard bumps along the way she could sympthasize with him. She knows whats its like to go through hardships..."Well whatever the case may be you're always welcome in the Gotei." She said smiling softly before seeing the so called postal service area it was filled with people who were dying to get their messages recieved to either loved ones, friends, relatives, or even other members..she turned around and showed Tatsuya the door and explained briefly.

This is basically like any other postal service in the human world, just ask the front desk what you want sent and they'll start the process of sending the message to whoever you are looking for.
"Well this is the place..it was nice to meet you Tatsuya. Maybe we can hang out later when i'm not busy.
