In Search of Past [PM TO JOIN] Empty In Search of Past [PM TO JOIN]

Nize flicked few switches in a small, black and lean spacecraft. Only few minutes before he would reach place, left for dead in many years. Los Viejos. Palace older then Las Noches, with history so unpleasant, no one even thinks of talking about it. It was here, where Hueco Mundo tried to become a unified force. It was here, where maybe the most fearsome of Arrancars laid their lifes for freedom no one ever received. At least that was what previous Nize had read, when first getting his hands on some much older Hueco Mundo files, though, not showing any great interest. This Nize, though, was different. The palace not only was important in Hollow history, it was also clad with many, many mysteries. And mysteries equaled power in a lot of cases.

The ship quietly landed on one of the abandoned landing sites. The place was as in all reports of scouts the male sent before arriving. Dark, cold and empty. A lot of modern parts, those built in last 100 years, seemed fine, while those, that seemed like original, dating back to few thousand years, seemed like freshly made. If Nize could feel, he would probably be afraid. But fear was a strong emotion and not for his numb mind. The Arrancar, looking around for a second, released wave of nano-Hollows through the area. They scanned for life force, traps and anything of interest. What he received was nothing, but mazes of corridors. Rocks of strange constructions, but nothing else. Split wasn't buying it.

Such, he set out. The palace was huge and with nothing more then a rough map, pieced together by what his scouts had gathered and old files from Shadow Fall data, it was quite a task to orientate. As he assumed, there was no power left. The power generators probably had collapsed at some point, or destroyed, maybe. Nize managed to find common rooms, something seeming like food storage, but nothing was really of great interest.

The first of the Hollows he met entering deeper. Those were husks of Adjuchas, starved and feral. Without any resistance these creatures obeyed the Arrancars mental command, seemingly almost desperate to follow orders. Split didn't mind at all. Of course, there were few that resisted, calling him invader or food. Well, those he removed without a second thought. He started to find more interesting things. Small weapon storage rooms. The weaponry was simple, probably for the basic soldiers or he spares, but it was a sign he was getting somewhere.

Finally the man found something of true worth. Lifeless computer, primitive, but clean, no dust or dirt. Nize let his nano-Hollows inside the machine and while with no power, it lit up with bright light. Holographic screen appeared with a console, flickered few times, but then stabilized, as the Arrancars power fixed what could be broken. Then he placed his in black clad fingers at the keyboard and let them dance and flicker, as information was being pulled out of the ancient machine.

"Now we are getting somewhere."

Amazing. Just amazing. And something of a cold chill passed the males spine. Not fear. No, he wasn't able to feel such a intense emotion, but a shadow of that. You see, only the first layers of the base was dead of energy, the later functioning on minimal settings. Just enough for the place to maintain it's functions, though, not enough for the fortress to operate. First, Nize opened data logs of all the fortresses operations. They were long and extensive, big part being locked, as he didn't have the appropriate permissions. He had to change that.

Such, his fingers seemed to melt into the computer, whole body lighting up with blue lines of Reishi. He absorbed what he could from the surrounding, without eating the walls and ground. The males body looked now completely mechanical. Why was it needed? Nize rapidly started to produce nano-Hollows, but not the regular kind, but those that were part of his Zanpakuto. They then attempted to merge with the fortresses own computer, turning it also into part of Nize's Hollow core. Split could already feel the strain on his mind from both controlling so much creatures and having access to intense amount of information, but for a short moment he had access to the whole fort.

And such, the Arrancar saved the fortresses log. Then went through important data revolving safety, development and weaponry. All that was sent to his base, Nize deciding to read it later. Being done with that, he went further. Accessed the security cameras, jumping from one to another, looking for anything to salvage as his own. There were few spots he noted to visit later, but then something stopped him motionless. In that moment all the nanites returned in his body, the control of the system back to the system. His mind lost the weight on it, but the Octava Espada was left speechless.

The reason why energy was still here. Why everything wasn't shut down was because there was one creature, that was sustained by it. Moon was producing energy to sustain his sleeping form. Nagato. Man of the past. One who was to blame for Hueco Mundos fate was here and still alive. First thought was to leave. Leave, as he had no desire to deal with immensely annoying and arrogant god-like beings. Nize didn't like them at all. But it may be that he was too late. Cause, in process of taking control of the fortresses system, he may accidentally trigger the process of waking up the male. Such, it could be too late to run.

It only meant this was the time to face the ancient Arrancar. He may kill him, yes, but it was calculated risk, as Nize did have ways to escape clutches of death. And he may gain something from this meeting as well, as the creature may hold valuable information. This only meant he won't be able to raid this place and claim it as his own. Shame. Split then looked at the Hollows he had taken control of, asking them mentally.

"Did you know Nagato was here?"

There was no answer, just sadness. Sadness of lost goal and broken trust. Hmmm, it seemed Hollows could feel such things. No matter Nize disappeared in a blurred movement, few moments later appearing in front of the entrance of the throne room. Split, again, should feel terrified or intimidated. Maybe impressed, but his mind was just calculating chances of survival. They were not high. He entered the room just as the last systems were shut down and the monster was awoken. Just great...
