Yaksha, The Überseele
Things had gone so fast...and yet, thinking back, with a hideous slowness that was itself fascinating to behold in the opposite manner. This must have been how the captain of the Titanic had felt, in those moments immediately leading up to the collision with the iceberg. It was such a cosmically infeasible state of affairs, that these two monoliths would collide in such a way, and by the time that it had been noticed, there was such a horrible inertia to it. It was oddly fitting, for the moment that was about to come, Yaksha felt. There would almost certainly be those who hoped to see the event turned back, but once it had happened, it would keep on happening. In smaller ways, across the world, the message would be out there.
Yaksha Dokuja shed his gigai, walking towards the balcony of his penthouse suite, and flexing his back muscles faintly. A pair of long, leathery wings, bringing to mind a great bat or some frilled lizard, stretched out behind him, easily large enough to dwarf his own armspan, stretched outwards. They seemed to phase into and out of the stone around them, giving the impression that Yaksha were some experty crafted gargoyle, or statue. And like a gargoyle, he exhibited a patience and stillness that made one wonder if he was even alive, as he began to marshal every fiber of his mental capacity, and to collate every asset he had at his disposal here.
He was about to make a sales pitch for his life, in a very literal sense. And if this pitch went well, it only meant a dozen more very unpleasant conversations in the upcoming weeks. Things were about to get incredibly busy in a very small desert, a chunk of the human world that emulated the hollow world in such a tiny and meaningless manner. He inhaled, exhaled, and slowly began to retch; as he did, his throat stretching and elongating as if he were trying to swallow an egg, faint white flames could be peeked behind his clenched teeth, as he spat out a wisp, no larger than his head, that flickered and bobbled back and forth in a manner that was oddly mechanical in its simplicity and repetitiveness. Yaksha rose one hand, half an inch, and as he did a black-and-purple portal appeared just in the palm of his clawed appendage. The wisp gently floated through it, with no more pomp or circumstance than one walking back through the door to their own hand. And just like that, it began.
A second, a third, a fifth...the wisps poured forth from Yaksha's mouth with a steady, persistent pace. Each one seemed just as tortuously hard to create, though they came quicker and quicker with time, like a bulimic who was growing more talented at inducing vomiting without warning. They all hovered for a second or two, before approaching the portal...and then Yaksha's other hand unfurled, causing a second portal to appear. And then his tails, both of them, gently rent the air behind them, creating a third and a fourth. Soon, the city of lights was filled with a flickering display of flames that would've put a swarm of fireflies to shame. Yaksha's eyes had a distant, almost glazed look to them, as if he were listening to a million distant conversations, trying to keep track of each one. Finally, after nearly an hour of creating these constructs, and sending them to scatter across every dimension he could find, and to spread their net as wide as possible, there was a moment of frisson within Yaksha. It was a faint, subconscious rippling of every cell in his body, telling him that the web had been created, and connected. Across entire dimensions, Yaksha had spread himself as thin as any being could feasibly hope to, simply to send a message.
He inhaled one last time, scrawling red text forming across every scale on his body, glimmering with a queer light as he spoke, in a voice that was dulcet, remarkably soft...and could be heard, felt, sensed, nearly everywhere. It was something beyond sound, more like a constant dull pulse in the veins of every entity sensitive to hollows and their energies. It felt like being in a room filled with pumping subwoofers...yet without a single sound coming from them. Flesh and muscle and bone rippled and pulsed in tune with some hideous vibration that went beyond the audible range...and then, after perhaps five minutes of this faint, steady throbbing, words could finally be made out.
"Come. Come to me. Las Vegas. Come and see. I will be waiting. Forever, if that's what it takes. Come. Let us be bound together by the red string of fate. Come. Come to me."
This, repeated in languages innumerable, tongues both old and dead and hideously new. Repeated, with the steady pacing of an intercom, or someone reading off of a script. It came between pulses of that bone-wrenching noise, that sound that had spread itself as far around as a myriad multitudinous being could manage. A sound that would almost certainly be maintained, until it had started the avalanche that would keep going for quite some time. It wasn't loud, nor was it demanding. It was simply gently insistent, coaxing and cajoling with a sense that this would go on forever, if need be. Like a man asking stone and snow to move at his request, kindly and patiently, until the universe simply heard his wish, and made it be.
And, of course, this was no mere snowflake, or pebble Yaksha was speaking to. These were proud, powerful beings. He didn't expect it would be long for the first individuals to come looking.

Boria Lee did not come to Las Vegas, and judging by the fact that one of Yaksha's wisps was reciting its message by her ear in Hebrew, he knew exactly how much of a smartass he was being sending one to her. "You know," she says from another, nearby balcony, "that 'red string of fate' bit does not translate into Hebrew at all." She leans back across the railing, sprawled like a lounging predator. "And it's a soulmate tradition, too. Destined lovers and all that. I swear, if your grand plan is a Hollow Orgy you deserve whatever the fuck happens to you and I will be far away, laughing at everyone else's collective misfortune." She jokes with him, blatantly, because she knows what his plan is, or the broad strokes of it, and she approves. The system now is broken, to the point where it can scarcely be a system. Hollows can join Shadow Fall, break their masks and seek "redemption" from Shinigami, or live lives of isolation and constant hunting in the wild parts of Hueco Mundo.
To be abrupt, fuck all of that. Arrancar were not some glorious stage of evolutionary might. They were broken science experiments of a deranged Shinigami, mutilated by ripping off part of their masks and shoving it into a sword. What Hollow needed a weapon? They themselves were such, a sword was a tool that could fail you. Shadow Fall was Demon-run and put Demons first. They were better than that. Ancient civilization told tales of awe and fear when it spoke of Hollows. They were the monster in the dark, that which was once man and now hunted man like man hunted game. Yaksha's offer of mutual sponsorship had been strong, but his plan had been what won Boria's loyalty, if you could call her sharp scrutiny and priority for self preservation as loyalty anyway. He did not bully or browbeat her, like Louisenbarn had done. He was not kind, but he was intelligent and had use for her.
For the sponsorship of a powerful Hollow, a Vasto Lorde even, Boria was willing to be used in the way he needed. He made clear his expectations and helped her grow in return. Her hunger, her companion for longer than she'd had her name, was more controlled than ever, and the clarity of thought she enjoyed was more intoxicating than liquor.
Her thoughts turned to the most famous force of Hollows and Arrancar. It was obvious why Las Noches had failed the Hollows. It was never meant for them. Honeyed words and promises of power from a traitor Shinigami, and any who were dumb enough to follow him had suffered for it.
Sure, they were strong. The Espada were downright monstrous even among monsters. All of Hueco Mundo had felt it when Ulquiorra had used the hitherto-unknown Ressurreccion: Segunda Etapa.
All of Hueco Mundo had felt Ichigo Kurosaki snuff him out, too.
Every single Espada suffered. Most died. All of that could be laid squarely at the feet of Sousuke Aizen. A leader who was not Hollow and thus did not value Hollows. That was the reason Tartarus had not allied itself with Monsuta. What kind of fool thought they wanted to die and re-enter the cycle? They were the cycle! They were the Apex predators of the world, the only species to surpass Man.
She voiced her concerns after jumping gracefully to Yaksha's side. "We've started the clock now. Shadow Fall and Gotei United won't ignore Tartarus forever. Not after this. You're strong, but they're monsters. We need to make ourselves important. We need to be ten moves in before anyone else sits down to play our game. You want us to be the Alphas, but we need our pack and we need it now."

The whir of the bi-plane could be heard through the sky as it continued over American soil, Lex quite alert as the sun had set a while back and the night sky was beginning to make itself apparent around them. His entire haul included himself, a tall and beautiful woman named Minerva that was currently sitting on his lap in the cockpit seat, an Adjucha named Liacaru that had grown to be that of an anthro-like form of a fox, and a small vixen named Nina that was currently sitting on the Adjucha's lap. Despite the particular area that they were currently flying over, setting sun cascaded what the aviator believed to be a heavenly glow across the desert landscape below, making it quite calming and beautiful to look at for the man. However, Lex had a fair share of seeing all of this before and remembered that Liacaru had literally came from a world where there was nothing but desert for him to traverse, so the sightseeing would have to wait as he made his way through the West Coast. 'Nina, you awake?' the man called out telepathically to the small vixen in the seat behind him. 'Hm? Mmm... I'm...' came the soft groggy voice of the vixen in his mind in return. '... awake... What did you need?' she finished, having stretched and yawned during her telepathic response to the pilot before she stood upright on Liacaru's lap, peeking over the seat just a tad to see them flying over the current Nevada Desert. 'Be on alert from this point on, I don't know if...' he began, when his eyes suddenly widened in fear before he jerked the plane as hard as he could to bank to the right and flipping on a switch on the console in front of him. Unfortunately, the plane jerking the way it did caused the vixen to suddenly protrude her claws from her paws before getting ready to swipe at the closest thing to her, attempting to keep herself in the plane on her own volition since she had nothing to hold her down whatsoever.
With the closest thing being Liacaru, the dark gray vixen hesitated to sink her claws into him out of fear of seriously hurting the Adjucha, having the ability to see and affect all spiritual beings. That hesitation made her eyes widen in pure horror as she was flung out of the left side of the plane, the small creature barreling through the sky and plummeting to the desert floor below. "LEX!!!" she screamed at the top of her lungs, beginning to panic as she immediately attempted to use one of her wind jutsus to stay alive. Meanwhile, Lex's first instinct was to hold onto Minerva as tight as he could since there were no seatbelts to hold her in place, the switch that he had flipped earlier began to morph several parts of the plane to be more sleek and open up the area for his jet boosters to protrude from the craft. Most importantly, it was sealing the open area of the plane with a type of blast armor in a perfect arch design. This looked to be a hard casing of metal that couldn't be breached, so it seemed highly unlikely that one could see through such a material. However, that's not what was being displayed on the inside, the pure darkness of the cockpit and backseat suddenly flooded with light again as the shielding seemed to be transparent, or rather, seemed to display what was around them as if one was looking at an arched monitor screen. Lex unbuckled his seatbelt and placed his palm against the center of his console, leaving a strange symbol illuminating on the screen that was illuminated as well. "Minerva, I'm putting this in autopilot, I'll be right back! I have to go get Nina!" he instructed before staring up at the screen above him. As if by reaction, the scenery suddenly zoomed in on the vixen twirling violently through the sky as she still was falling at top speed towards the ground below, the man not wasting a second to place the same palm he had put against the console against his chest before he suddenly vanished from the cockpit.
Lex would suddenly appear a few meters above the vixen, now freefalling as well while he rummaged through his aviator jacket to grab for his scouter device, practically jamming it over his left ear and aligning the lens to be over his left eye. He then curled up to place both of his hands on both sides of his steel-toe boots before they were suddenly replaced with another pair of shoes, ones that had sharp, metal wings designed on the sides of them. He straightened his body out right away towards the vixen before he suddenly blasted off towards her, the sounds of jets at the bottom of his shoes screaming through the air as he saw the vixen calmly falling towards the ground now. She seemed to have regained her composure for sure, the vixen glancing over in Lex's direction to see him coming in her direction before she held out a paw for him to take. He didn't waste any time at grabbing her the moment he reached her position, the man tugging her towards his body before gently placing her under her jacket pressed against his chest, the gray fluff of fur being small enough for him to zip up the jacket and keep her head poking out to keep her snug and tight against him. 'Lex, what are those-' the vixen's voice rang out in his mind, but he already cut her off. 'Those have to be Hollows! But they're far larger than the ones we encountered in Karakura City! We have to postpone our trip to New York and see where they're headed, there are literally hundreds of these things pouring out from portals and we can't just let them roam around freely if they might cause trouble like the ones we destroyed earlier.' he answered, boosting off to be parallel with the plane. The loud rumblings and random noises from such a large number of Hollows began to fill the air now, as if they were being centralized to one point by something unseen by the man and his companion.
That's when it hit him, wondering if perhaps whatever it was that was calling these Hollows had perhaps affected Liacaru as well. 'Crap...' he grumbled in his mind as he flew towards the right side of the plane, watching it weave and bob around in the area to avoid any of the extremely large Hollows that were in the way even at such a height. He glanced over at it before lifting up his left arm, checking to see the availability of his wristband device before noticing that it was now reading 'fully operational' again. He couldn't help but hurriedly press several buttons in a very fast sequence before pressing a button on the side of his scouter device next, hearing synchronized beeping on both devices before he was able to remotely control the plane along with the autopilot function being on. He would type a message on his wristband device, hearing Nina casually chant 'left' or 'right' periodically to have him casually shift in that direction to avoid Hollow after Hollow, finally finishing his message. 'CHANGE OF PLANS. THERE SEEMS TO BE A HOLLOW GATHERING HEADING IN THE DIRECTION OF LAS VEGAS. WE WILL HAVE TO INVESTIGATE! PLEASE BE CAREFUL, WHATEVER THIS IS MAY HAVE AFFECTED LIACARU.' it read, showing up on the console of the plane where the dashboard was. He just hoped that Minerva could read the message and try contacting him through telepathy like she did before. His telepathy only worked with his summons due to a contract, but it was Minerva's power that allowed them to telepathically speak to each other as a team. As he changed the plane's course towards Las Vegas to see what was even going on, he just hoped that nothing had happened to the two of them within the plane, feeling that the worst case scenario was that whatever this was had affected Liacaru to perhaps attack Minerva.
Lex's Current Abilities
- Spoiler:
- Name: Grey Magic: Seal Teleportation
Description: This spell allows Lex to transport anything in existence, as long as he is aware of what it is and the location of whatever is being teleported through portals, which are enhanced greatly through a specific seal. The seal must be within five inches from Lex's body to activate in this manner and all things being teleported must have a weight under 5 tons (10,000 pounds) size does not matter. The seals can still be used if out of the five inch range, used more as a beacon to pinpoint exactly where to cast his next teleport without too much effort in comparison to having to guess where he should teleport items or people.
Lex's Current Equipment
- Spoiler:
- Name: Platinum Fox Gloves
Description: Light grey and royal blue leather gloves that have a magical symbol set on the palms of the gloves.
Function: These gloves allow Lex to amplify grey magic, a style of magic that could teleport small items to and from his location. With the amplification however, it allows him to teleport medium, large, and even extremely large items as well. The extremely large items take up a lot of his stamina however, so he tries to keep it small if possible.
Origins: After creating grey magic with the Niosha Stone, Lex found it difficult to conjure up the spell during battle, despite its usefulness. Upon more research on the specific codes of magic that the grey magic followed, he found out that if a seal was placed on any item, he could teleport other objects from that very item that had the seal on it. Because the item with the seal had to be touched every time for the activation, it was safe to say that an article of clothing was the safest bet to put the seal, causing the creation of both the Platinum Fox Gloves and the Platinum Fox Boots.
Name: X Scouter
Description: A chrome piece of metal that is like an ear muff and links a thin metal wire around one ear and towards the eye, where a thin piece of faint blue lens rests over.
Function: This scouter has multiple purposes, from reading data, to projecting data, to displaying videos and images, to even scanning objects. This scouter device can do numerous things, and is still a work in progress as far as Lex is concerned. It can currently scan objects due to laser projection, heat sensors, and sound waves. This can recognize what the object is made out of and take digital images of that object to study for later use.
It can also copy and save data, like text files and other images and videos, as well as project these multiple things on the lens of the scouter. It can play and record things that are happening in real time. The scouter holds 500 terabytes worth of memory and has a database that needs to be filled manually (personally logging information into it like city maps, object descriptions, facial pictures, etc.) Any external database can be connected to the scouter, it just needs to be set up through a Wi-Fi connection before being able to be accessed.
If integrated with Duplex's Perfect Monitor, it can also display a person's actions based off of their muscle movement and accurate computer simulation on the lens. Lastly it has the X Vision scanners on it, allowing Lex to use the different modes of visions with the lens.
Name: Xepherus
Description: These look to be silver and royal blue metal footwear that have several different blades protruding from the side of it that are shaped as angel wings. The front of it is pointed as a sharp blade as well. The soles have two holes as well that allows Lex to use fuel to propel himself into the air and fly around in quick bursts of speed.
Function: The Xepherus is a means for Lex to be able to travel around the battlefield through jet propulsion.
Name: L.A.S.T.
Description: Lex's Advanced System Tech. A silver and blue wristband device that models after the Time Bounty Hunter's APOD (Advanced Program Omitting Device) in custom interface and design.
Function: Unlike the APOD however, Lex's wristband is suited more towards his solo needs and doesn't have any time altering effects. It serves as his GPS, information displayer (visual and audio alike) a remote controller for all of his advanced equipment, and a scanner. This helps Lex keep track of a lot of information on the go when his X Scouter is unavailable. It can sync up with the X Scouter, as well as a lot of his devices and equipment that are stationary or out on the field.
Nina's Current Abilities
- Spoiler:
- Name: Prower Synch
Description: Once a petal of the Prailius Rose is used during the summon of any Prower, they are able to telepathically speak to their owner(s) at any given time from any location until they are called back.
Name: Black Magic: Wind - Barrier Funnel
Description: This spell creates a wind barrier force to appear around the solo user that is falling from the sky. This barrier creates a thin funnel around the person that allows the desired caster to slow down or speed up in falling momentum while also inching them in whatever specific location they wish to land in without having to worry about a hard landing. This spell spreads out at 5 meters wide around the desired person and was designed in creation as an expert infiltration technique of a solo individual. This spell must be performed at least 20 meters above the ground or it will not work.

Minerva was currently taking a light nap in Lex’s lap. There was really nothing else to do on such a long journey. Her eyes slowly opened. Before she could do anything else, Lex had maneuvered hard, flinging Nina out of the plane. Since Minerva could fly she didn’t worry about being flung out of the airplane, but appreciated that Lex held onto her tightly. With calm and switch resolve, Lex transformed the plane into a jet, the cockpit itself had quite the change.
“Wait!” she exclaimed as he teleported away.
She then turned her head forward and now she understood why he had to make such a drastic change of course. So many hollow were appearing. But why? No, this was too much of a coincidence. Was this a trap setup for them? Did it have something to do with Liacaru? She glanced behind and saw that he was still there. Nothing special, his energy seemed to be normal also. She saw the message Lex had sent to the dashboard. She quickly telepathically communicated with Lex,
“What plan do you have in mind? This seems to be more than a coincidence that we have encounter these monsters, unless the whole planet has been overrun. Unless you want to send us on a suicide mission, I advise retreat.” She glanced again back at Liacaru. “Liacaru seems to be fine.” she stated calmly.
She didn’t need to ask if he saved Nina. She knew where they were through spiritual energy alone and they were together now, Lex flying parallel with the plane. She went back to observing the Hollows, mentally taking notes of how many appeared and how quickly.
- Spoiler:
