Angel
Song: N/a STUFF - Artist: N/A STUFF - Words: N/A
Character Name: Angel
Age: 1 Month
Sex: Female
Height: 5’10” ft
Weight: 350 lbs
Race: Shinigami Doll
Affiliation: Vanguard
Rank: Lead Researcher of the Combine
Personality:
There are very few things that unsettle her. For the most part, Angel exhibits a very calm and collected demeanor. From the start, the doll was created without its own unique persona since it was simply supposed to retain Crystal’s own convictions. However, in the aftermath of the accident given the large amount of energy, that too got skewed and tampered with. The personality that got passed through was affected and changed in a rather significant way. The girl certainly knows right from wrong. She is acquainted with all the typical emotions associated with living beings like love, care, loyalty, betrayal, happiness, sadness, fear, excitement, among many more. Still, she finds more difficulty displaying some emotions to no fault of her own.
Her loyalty cannot be questioned. She is devoted to two causes above all else; besides her own curiosity and adventurous hobby of scientific breakthrough. She’s a Shinigami Doll, and by extension is loyal to Seireitei and everything they stand by. Likewise however, she feels a really strong connection to the world of the living, and will go out of her way to protect it at all costs, even if at times it may contradict with the better judgement of the Shinigami. To no surprise, she sympathizes with the ideals and viewpoints of the Vanguard, as the organization embodies largely what she believes in. Absent to knowledge, one of the main reasons behind it was because Crystal too shared the same belief.
In her day to day interactions, Angel comes off as very formal and professional. She has never said an ill mannered word thus far, and will always attempt to stop and remain quiet before saying something that is outright dreaming or insulting simply for the sake of saying so. She does however possess values and convictions that do not align with every spiritual race, and as such some of her words could be easily misunderstood. Regardless, despite her own inherent programming of self preservation, Angel will always go out of her way to protect and save her comrades or humans, even at the cost of her own well being.
Despite rather subtle, she does display very dismal hints of some form of competitiveness. While it is never shown outright, she does possesses a drive to try and be better both in her scientific and combat related endeavors. The girl seems to handle demeaning or disrespectful comments to her person rather well; a testament to her patience and ability to avoid becoming upset with ease. It is for sure a stark contrast to Crystal who had a very difficult time under the same circumstances.
However one thing Angel has a very difficult time dealing with is disappointment, an unfortunate personality trait that remained unscathed from Crystal during the experimental procedure. The girl will always go out of her way to try and ensure her work, in any area, is as good as she can manage to avoid the chance of disappointment. There’s just something that troubles her deep inside about not being enough or not meeting the expectations. It's not an emotion she has ventured to understand, and neither does she want to since the prospect frightens her. It ties in heavily with her understanding of her worth, the value of her existence, and the meaning of her own unique identity.
Whenever she can, the girl seems to enjoy going to the world of the living, although for reasons very different to the rest. While a fair number of Humans are spiritually aware, a great number of them, if not the majority, still remain relatively powerless in that regard. When not on a mission, Angel enjoys seeking out the areas with a large population of spiritually powerless beings. Why? Simple. The blindfold is unable to bounce back images given the lack of spiritual presence. Even her enhanced hearing is unable to create a mental picture for the same reason as the latter. In those areas, she’s effectively blind, being able to move barely based on tact and sound. It serves as a strong reminder of what she is, or rather what she thinks she is. Despite feeling rather human and real herself, being in those areas serves as a way of a wake up call. Regardless of how she may feel or how many memories and emotions she’s able to recreate, the fact remains that she is blind and alone, and the most lost when around the most human of individual. It serves as a realization that despite how natural and human she may seem, she’s as far from human as human gets. And from there stems her desire to protect the beauty of life of those in Seireitei and those in the world of the living. And beneath the surface, hidden perhaps purposefully to her own conscious thought, there is fear. Therein lies that fear that regardless of how many centuries or millennia she gets to live, her life could end as easily and rapidly as she believes it was created. All her thoughts and emotions and memories would be lost to time, like tears in rain.

History:
The Previous Life
The start of her memories were as hazy and convoluted as the future that awaited her. She had been born in the Soul Society to loving parents, but she would have near to no memory of them. Her earliest thoughts were of abandonment and solitude. As a very small child she had witnessed the sudden disappearance of everyone around her. The small village was very far from the more fortunate areas of Rukongai and the shinigami rarely ever showed up around the area. That day had not been different. However, what little the girl knew would have been stripped from her that day. As she walked towards what she imagined was her home, she witnessed everyone around her screaming and shrieking in agony as their bodies were reduced to white-like smoke. In what seemed like an instant there was nothing left of them but the clothes they once wore. The memories were extremely hazy because of her age. Most of the events might not have been exactly as she recalls but it was a good indication of what had happened. Because of her undeveloped emotions, she had not demonstrated a push towards sadness and despair. Though she had been cut off from her friends and family indefinitely, the bonds and their worth had not cemented in her to be able to discern their importance. The only prevalent feeling was fear. She was afraid, and she was alone.
She had been walking for hours not knowing where to go. Though she had no idea what had happened to the people in the village, she was smart enough to know it was likely dangerous there. Walking for what seemed like hours, her young mind could only imagine soon she would collapse, black out, and never wake up. In the darkness of the night, her tiny arms wrestled the branches and the leafs trying to cut a way in. Ironically, the more she struggled the worst it was for her. After a couple of hours walking she was dirty, bruised and badly cut in a myriad of places. Initially she had cried because of the pain and the utter frustration of her situation. Soon however, she stopped. Even at her young age she figured out that crying and whining was not going to fix her situation, and it would not save her life. Barely able to move her tiny legs any more, she was met by a small group of man who rushed past her covered in dark cloaks. She could only assume it was black as she was too young to know many colors and the pitch black darkness of the night made all colors she had a grip on mingle together. Though getting a glimpse of who had rushed past her was near impossible, it was likely they were shinigami since the speeds approached unthinkable levels. Out in the corner of her eye, she could have sworn one of the man had momentarily turned to see her before speeding off. Gentle, soft and long dark brown hair, and a very peculiar smile greeted her as the group vanished into the emptiness of the night. Either because of the surprise or the sheer shock of the events that had unfolded that night she collapsed and remained immobile for a very long time. Merely a few hours later, a couple of shinigami arrived at her location. It was strange. It was almost as if they had been told of her exact location. However, the girl, she was just glad to be safe. For the time being.
Though the shinigami would have wanted to bring her into Seireitei, they were not allowed. Instead, the unnamed girl had been dropped into the care of a family in Rukongai who was without children. Crystal. That was the name given to her. She was always told it was because of her appearance and the way her eyes looked to her adoptive parents. She seemed like a pure girl. She was Crystal clear. Though she was then no one's responsibility but those who had adopted her, Crystal usually had recurrent visits from shinigami. Most often than not it was the ladies from the fourth squad trying to make sure she was alright. The incidents and the disappearances had been of great concern, but since she could barely understand or speak and was found at a very far off location, she was never quite connected to the events. In fact, she never would.
From a young age, Crystal began to develop traits that were admired by more than her family. She had a peculiarly large appetite. Though food was often a luxury that not many families in Rukongai would enjoy, the family was lucky enough to have a good share of meals at least in comparison to neighboring families. Her appetite was indicative of a very strong spiritual pressure and as such, she was expected to, at the right age, enroll in the academy with the hopes of becoming a full fledged shinigami. During the years prior to enrolling however, she had quite a number of habits and hobbies. Some were very common among kids her age but some were particular to older folks. Though she enjoyed playing with toys, she was often seen breaking them apart and rebuilding them, and even designing her own. She was not particularly seen as violent, but rather, she liked to tinker. She disliked doing work assigned to her, but she loved working on things she genuinely wished to do. Nevertheless, she was a model child. She had helped the family with the chores and was their pride and joy while she was with them. It was during that time too, that a lot of troubling things had happened around Soul Society. With a large number of captains and lieutenants exiled, it seemed like the shinigami would have been in troubled, but it seemed the positions had been filled and with that, the order had returned, at least for the time being. She never quite dreamed of being a captain as a dream as lofty as that was likely too much for someone like her. She was contempt with being important and respected, unlike the rest of her play-friends.
On The Path to Upheaval
In the last few years she had joined the shinigami academy. There, she had discovered that, although she had the potential to be a strong shinigami, many others did as well. Nevertheless, she was always praised by her instructors for her dedication, eagerness to learn, and how quick she caught up with new and challenging material. She excelled in a wide variety of aspects during her time at the academy. While she dedicated a lot of time to her studies for her advanced kido and swordsmanship classes, she was doing quite poorly in what entailed social interactions. Though she was very social, her extreme involvement in her studies often lead her to be aloof to others. During this time, the students were left to teach themselves more so than other years. Though the instructors were famous for their teaching, it was a time of strife for Soul Society. A group of captains had defected and allied with the hollows in creating strong Arrancar to take over Sereitei. It was infuriating. Though she truly wanted to do her best to effect change in the Soul Society and gravitate the citizens towards peace, she knew she was still far too weak and still had much more to learn. Her only hope was that, by the time she finished the academy, she would be of sufficient help to her peers. By the time she had finished the academy however, there was a relative short time of peace. She was happy since it would likely lead to less bloodshed, but part of her was disappointed she would not get to participate in the combat. She knew however...she was starting to figure out that in the world of shinigami, combat is inevitable. Sooner or later.
Initially, she had wanted to join the sixth squad. Though she did think the Captain was quite the looker, she was very interested in keeping the law and the order in place. To her surprise however, she was almost immediately requested into the 12th squad. Though it was not her primary choice, she did not complaint. She had made up her mind that, wherever she was appointed to, was likely the place she belonged given her abilities. There were plenty of rumors of her tinkering and her inventions, even during her time at the academy, and the word must have reached the Research and Development Department. They would make sure to strive to make her stronger and wiser. And both of those, she enjoyed. The years to come would see Crystal rising through the ranks. She had discovered the worth of the 12th division and had found amusement and solace in the daily research. Akin to some of her superiors, Crystal was dotted with significant intellect which was clearly noticeable in the way she approached problems and created possibilities and experiments for the department. In fact, her rise into the seated positions was so fast that she could only be compared to that of a prodigy. When Mayuri had retired, there were even some that hinted and even proposed the idea of Crystal becoming a Captain. Though she definitely had what it took, she was still a bit young, and there were other candidates just as qualified as her but with much more years of experience. With the appointment of a new Captain, Crystal continued to work her best to increase the reputation of her squad. It had not been long since she had mastered her bankai. In fact, she had been so closely considered for the position that she had even been asked to show it to a select and anonymous group of captains. Of course, she had shown only enough to provide security of her abilities but not enough to reveal every card under her sleeve. Not surprisingly, her Zanpakutō abilities reflected her personality. Her blade was as unorthodox and strange as her appearance. Her abilities reflected the tinkerer and adventurous persona of hers that loved knowledge for the sake of knowing. Though she had been developing a lot more accessories and inventions as of late, she always made sure to tell her peers that a shinigami's greatest invention and their treasure, was the bond they shared with their Zanpakutō. In Crystal, as her name suggest, there is a very clear friendship between her Zanpakutō and her, and those bonds, are visible in the way she handles herself and her powers.
With the new vacancy on her squad, Crystal has volunteered for the position. Not surprisingly she seems to enjoy the support and the vote of her peers. Because of her powers, her leadership abilities and her knowledge she was a perfect candidate for the position and after a lot of thought, she was appointed as the Captain. As a first order of business, she has seemed to have undertaken on the duty of pushing the squads to work together and more efficiently than before. There are also rumors that a new project, Project Familiar, is due to begin within the 12th squad. The specifics are not yet known but it seems to revolve around a number of inventions from Crustal that are bound to come of use to the shinigami in their endeavors.
For Times to Come
With the winds of change blowing strongly on Seireitei and elsewhere, the direction of the efforts for the Shinigami caused were to be applauded. Still, Crystal grew complacent and almost bored of her duties after a while. She was still fascinated by technology and would no doubt try to continue on her scientific endeavors. At the same time however, she wanted to leave a mark not just on Seireitei but on the world at large. For that, she had politely stepped down from her position continued her experiments and training in the world of the living. With more time to herself, and without as much responsibility as in the Gotei, Crystal found a lot more time to devote to her inventions. Still, though she didn’t have certainty she would return to the Gotei, she still sort of missed it. And with talks of a certain organization not unlike her former one, the young woman had a completely different mission, to be useful while enjoying the talents she possessed.
Prologue: The Eye Before The Storm
There came a time when almost everyone hit a plateau. Be it in academic endeavors, in struggles of the body, or even struggles of the mind. Plateaus however were never meant to be a finishing point, but rather a start; they were meant to be the transition into better times, fueled by the effort of greater impulses, and aided by the worthwhile endeavors of recurrent struggle. Crystal Leight had gotten to a point where life seemed as though it had taken the form of a crossroad. The former Captain of the Research and Development in Soul Society had stepped down from her position in hopes to seek glory elsewhere. Despite still remaining loyal to Seireitei, she knew she could make a great impact, and leave a more significant footprint on the world at large if she simply went out of her comfort zone. She wanted to do more, but to do so, she needed to be more.
Despite coming up with several ideas of what she thought she should do, her mind always went back to what she truly loved; her passion. Crystal had always been a devoted student of science, and it showed in all of her inventions and accomplishments with the R&D. She had been one of the most gifted students under Mayuri Kurotsuchi during his tenure as Captain, and had quickly been appointed as a replacement not long after he stepped down. She knew for a fact that whatever she did would revolve around scientific development and pursues of the mind.
Before leaving Seireitei however, the then Captain had discovered several instructions regarding a very peculiar technology she knew very little about. It was something called Shinigami Dolls. Although the information detailed exactly what they were, it did not explain how to build one. And instead of going through trial and error to attempt to make her own, she decided to seek out the man responsible for its creation: Tsubasa Unabara. It certainly wasn’t the first time the two had met. During the time of her Captaincy, Tsubasa was the Captain Commander. He too had stepped down before Ibiki took up the mantle. Like her, Tsubasa was known for not just his power but his inquisitive mind as well. Even then, the man had recurrently praised her intellect and vivid imagination as displayed by her creations. The two of them were in some ways more similar than most.
It still baffled her however that his invention hadn’t been exploited more positively. Granted, not many Shinigami would be willing to put their soul into an artificial shell and give up the former. However, there were still plenty of applications. The dolls could be made to be fully synthetic as a way to help the Seireitei with their missions, and to fight the ever increasing threat of their enemies. The woman did however understand why most would be apprehensive about it. The dolls were supposed to be able to feel and certainly had emotions. There were concerns as to how humane it would be to use them as pawns. And while some could certainly be created with little to no emotions, did that really justify using them as bait or sending them to die? The jury was still out on that but most were eerie about it.
In Crystal’s case, the whole reasoning behind her idea was well founded. She didn’t want to just help him create a new Shinigami Doll. No. Crystal wanted to work with him to create the body of a Doll with which to house her own soul. Of course, that meant she would forever surrender the body she once owned, but she was okay with it. Despite her intentions however, Tsubasa cautioned her that there were simply far too many risks. For the most part, the only Shinigami that had been placed into dolls had been regular squad members, or at the most extremes, seated members. The notion of putting the soul of a Captain into a doll, while daring and bold, was inherently dangerous. She possessed way too much energy. If they attempted to separate the soul from the body, it could most likely end up destroying the doll and killing Crystal as well.
Despite all the warnings, the woman still pressed on with her desires. She hadn’t been as intimately involved in anything for a long time. This project could lead to great things, and it could be her way to truly leave a lasting impact. To prepare for the experiment, Crystal and Tsubasa spent many weeks researching and tinkering with a variety of elements. The two pooled their intellects together to try and create a very strong body that could sustain it. Even then however, the man knew that at the current state, proceeding would still spell suicide for the former Captain. Luckily for him, the once Captain Commander had an encounter with one of the most promising Quincy of their time: Sofia Montero. The young girl was widely known as the Quincy Prodigy, and despite her youth, she had long surpassed the current leader of the Wandenreich, and even matched the might of the former emperor of the latter. More importantly, during their battle, Tsubasa was able to witness an odd but fascinating technology created by the girl. She called it, Ginto Spheres.
In essence, the technology revolved around placing the contents of several Ginto into a sphere. Although it sounded simple enough, it wasn’t. There was a reason why throughout a milenia, no Quincy had been able to accomplish it. Typically the power of Ginto attack was limited to how many Ginto were used. And there were just so many that could be held in both hands. The problem lies in the fact that one couldn't just drip the contents inside the sphere, otherwise a chemical reaction would occur that would be dangerous if not deadly. The young Quincy had managed to engineer a way to condense the energy and fit large amounts within a very small sphere. In theory, that was ideally what Tsubasa and Crystal needed to do.
Following their battle, at request of both Tsubasa and Crystal, they asked to sample the technology she had created it. And while Sofia did not seem like the kind to want to give that up easily, the man had helped her push through her boundaries and become much more powerful, so she agreed. It was the least she could do. Back at their laboratories, the two Shinigami reversed engineered the spheres until they figured out a way to condense her energy and her soul to try and make a successful transplant to the doll. Yes, try. The combined efforts of two of the smartest Shinigami alive, and one of the most innovative technology to date surely helped, but in no way did it make it a sure thing. Most were not aware of just how difficult it was to separate a regular soul to place into the doll. Doing the same with the soul of a Captain was absolute nightmare.
”I will live on, no matter what. Whatever lies ahead is a welcomed journey. I am doing what I want, and I lived doing what I loved.”
Those were the words Crystal spoke before experimented commenced. She was confident that it would work, but like any scientist, she had to be prepared for the chance of failure. Failure in this case would likely mean her own demise, but that was a risk she was willing to take. As soon as she was made to sleep the work began. While the actual creation of the physical doll had taken a considerably long amount of time between the two of them, the actual process of transferring her into it would be much more complex, delicate, and meticulous.
Once all was said and done, the experiment had succeeded, but not completely. Despite all their combined effort and intellect and the technology at their disposal, the levels of energy they had to work with were simply too much, even when suppressed. In fact, at the very last minute, Tsubasa made sure to create a Vizard like veil that covered her eyes but which primarily served to act as a form of limiter for her energy, among other things. Once the girl awoke however, she seemed surprised, or rather just lost. It looked as though she had awoken for the first time, and something wasn’t just right. At the time being, neither the doll nor Tsubasa knew what had happened, but they would. Soon.
Chapter I: Rebirth
The first things she remembered upon awakening were the dark and almost messy look of the lab she was in. When she asked what her name was, Tsubasa simply paused, seeming worried or actually disappointed before answering: Angel. It looked as though that while the transfer had been successful, not everything had gone as they had hoped. The soul was housed on the body the two Shinigami constructed. However the memories that were passed on were not what they were supposed to be. The girl knew how to speak, and she had very obvious displays of emotions and feelings. She knew about her surroundings and what Shinigami were and what they used. However, all integral personal information like friends or potential family, or event events about her personal life or details about her own person were gone. There was no going back, and there was no fixing it. It wasn’t a game where they could simply go back in time and start all over, or simply quit before starting. What was done, was done.
The physical body that belonged to Crystal had been destroyed right after extraction. What’s more, the whole process had damaged the doll in such a way that it made Angel blind. And while Tsubasa could have perhaps corrected that, he chose not to. Her abilities did not leave her impaired. But more importantly the notion that she could be fixed was something he didn’t want her having to gauge so early on. In the end, there was an odd mix of emotions as while they had been successful, it wasn’t to the extent that both of them had desired. Nonetheless, Tsubasa knew that Crystal would be proud of the accomplishment and the step she had taken, even if she couldn’t truly know or understand what had happened or its magnitude. It only made her last words all the more significant and everlasting.
As soon as she was briefed on all the minor details she needed to know, the girl was sent on her way. By minor details Tsubasa had meant to tell her she was a Shinigami Doll, and that it would be best she pledged her allegiance to the Gotei and join its ranks as she was meant to. He had of course left out all information regarding just how she came to be, as the notion of the process could only serve to scare her and confuse her.
From all the available squads, Angel seemed to take a liking to both the Kido Corps, the stealth division, and the combat squad, almost as if she had a natural talent for them. And though she was oblivious to it, she did. Prior to joining the Research and Development division, Crystal had considered joining a different division instead. It wasn’t until she was personally asked and directed to the R&D that she came to be a part of it, and from it discovered her passion for science. The girl discovered she had an innate talent with kido and could learn it at an exceedingly fast rate. Most just assumed it was part of her programming as did her. However, only Tsubasa was aware of just why she had such an ease with the skill. To most, Crystal had left and disappeared into the corners of the world, so no one would have guessed just how her fate had turned out.
Her two most influential, and also her only mentors in the art were Kido Corps Captain, Midori Hayashi, a kind soul that seemed to care for the girl, and former Captain Commander and creator, Tsubasa Unabara. The girl came to surprise both of them with just how quickly she learned the techniques, and how fast she was able to master them. Midori would focus on teaching her the basic and intermediate techniques while working on form and pacing above all else. On the other hand, Tsubasa would take care of fine tuning her skill with it and teaching her some of the more elaborate and peculiar techniques available.
Unlike the rest of the Shinigami, Angel was unique in the fact that she did not own a zanpakuto. She could create numerous kinds of weapons of different aesthetic designs through the use of reishi manipulation, but that was it. It seemed as though the girl was gifted in most things that had to do with energy, its usage and control. She figured that she was so prodigious in controlling reishi because she had the same level of skill with kido but that was far from the truth. Each Shinigami Doll was created with one singular ability beyond the aditaments they each possessed. Angel had been given the ability to absorb and manipulate reishi, much like the Quincy could. In addition to that, the technology created by Sofia, matters of which were unknown to Angel, had done more than help in her creation. By nature, the technology created was completely embedded with the Quincy prodigy’s energy, and as such, some had facilitated the ability that was created for the doll to begin with. She was able to not just absorb reishi with ease, but she was even able to envision techniques she had never seen and plan out the means and methods to create techniques from them. Although she believed this to be simply a reflection of her want to create kido like techniques out of reishi, there was certainly something more.
In a short amount of time, the girl was able to take control over several kido and even a few unique reishi manipulation techniques. While she did want to work on other aspects of her combat, she found difficulty getting others to abide. The woman possessed a near unnatural level of physical strength, something quite obviously built into her form. Just by weight alone, hers exceeded that of at least three women combined. Nonetheless, she did what she could with her training, seeking either Tsubasa or other members of her squad and even outside of it, in an effort to hone her skills. Luckily for her, Angel found out that she didn’t have much difficulty picking up skills. It was almost as if she had known everything she was learning, and was simply skimming over known matters. Of course they were all knew to her, but the degree of ease with which she learned them, and the rate at which she mastered the use of her bladed weapons and her body seemed to indicate she was very familiar with the arts; much more so than even seated officers.
Despite her calm and jovial attitude, the woman knew something was off. She felt different, and it wasn’t just because she thought she wasn’t as real as the Shinigami she walked among. There was something off about her specifically and she couldn’t figure out what. With Tsubasa finally bidding farewell to return to his own affairs, the girl was left to tend to her duties as she presented herself to be placed on a squad. More importantly, she was intent on trying to discover why she felt like she did. She needed to find meaning in her life, and discover the worth and value of her own existence.

Song: N/a STUFF - Artist: N/A STUFF - Words: N/A
Kido
- Spoiler:
- Bakudo
Bakudō # 30. Shitotsu Sansen (嘴突三閃, Beak-Piercing Triple Beam)
Incantation: Unknwon
Description: Angel creates a strong burst of crackling yellow energy in his/her palm. The energy creates an inverted yellow triangle, which generates solidified energy in the shape of smaller triangles from its three points. The smaller triangles fire and hit the intended target, pinning them against a nearby surface by slamming into their body in three places in the shape of a perfect triangle and immobilizing them.
Bakudō # 62. Hyapporankan (百歩欄干, Hundred Steps Fence)
Incantation: N/A
Description: Angel generates a blue-white glowing rod of energy in her hand and throws it at the intended target. It multiplies into a hundred more rods, which rain down on the target and pin him or her against a solid surface, completely immobilizing them. It is hard to dodge in a small area.
Bakudō # 79. Kuyō Shibari (九曜縛, Nine Sunlight Traps)
Incantation: N/A
Description: Angel creates eight black holes with purple outlines which emit spiritual energy in the space surrounding the target, with the ninth black hole manifesting itself in the center of the target's chest, with the intention of immobilizing the target.
Bakudō # 81. Dankū (斷空, Splitting Void)+
Incantation: N/A
Description: Aiko creates a defensive wall to protect against an enemy's attack. She creates a translucent barrier in the form of a large rectangular wall. Danku is a special form of bakudo that can stop kido-based attacks with power up to level 89.
The Tiger's Mirror: This is the last kido Tsubasa developed, it's a mirror based kido that creates a defensive barrier. Something capable of absorbing the impact of energy based attacks and fire them back on the person. The max amount of kido mirrors are up to four, the blast can be reflected through them and hitting a target. Tsubasa's many methods of fighting developed more after he built this move, training himself endlessly. The power he created with all this was developed for the single purpose of training himself to insane levels, Tsubasa's mirror kido is something fairly rare using the idea of Danku and taking it to the next level. The mirror kido can reflect other kido and bounce them off all the way up to 99 allowing him a great deal of control and freedom with them. Each mirror takes a single turn for one mirror to form than vice versa. If an attack is absorbed by one mirror and no others are made it takes two turns to fire. One to absorb the next to fire it, this is not an instantaneous effect unless two or more are present.Kido Barriers & Seals
Millón Escudo (ミジョン・エスクド, Mijon Esukudo; Spanish for "Million Shield")
Incantation: N/A
Description: A light green hexagonal barrier which is normally fixed to one central area and, when inactive, remains invisible. Upon contact with an outside force, the barrier enlarges to fully protect whatever it is affixed to. The barrier keeps the attack away from the target, gathers the energy in one area, and momentarily absorbs the energy from the attack before forcing the attack outward and away from the shield, dispersing the attack altogether. It has been noted to have been able to block a point-blank, Hollow mask-enhanced Getsuga Tenshō from Ichigo Kurosaki in his Bankai.
El Escudo (エル・エスクド, Eru Esukudo; Spanish for "The Shield")
Incantation: N/A
Description: As the practitioner raises their arm, a light green barrier is summoned to block an incoming attack.
Gyogai
Incantation: N/A
Description: Angel holds her arms above the intended target and envelopes them in a translucent, yellow prism of Reiatsu. The prism freezes the state of a person and can be used to hold off death with mortal injuries.
Hako Okuri (匣遺, Farewell Box)
Incantation: N/A
Description: Sealing an object inside of a box-shaped orange barrier, Angel teleports the box wherever she wishes it to go. It can even transport the object within another object, like another person. Unfortunately it has its limitations. Before she can attempt this, the target must be marked by her spiritual presence through touch. Upon touching a target, she's able to manifest this kido so long as no more than three posts have elapsed from the moment of touch to the moment of activation of said kido.Hadō
Hadō # 31. Shakkahō (赤火砲, Red Fire Cannon)
Incantation: Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!
Description: Generating high-temperature flames, Angel discharges it from one or both hands. She generates and fires an orb of crimson red energy on her palm or finger. The orb can be small, medium, or large, depending on the level of power being used. The destructive power released by the blast can vary between a simple explosion to a pillar of energy, and in both instances, the spell causes concussive as well as burn damage. The spell does not necessarily have to be used for offensive purposes, and can be used as a source of light in dark places.
Hadō # 33. Sōkatsui (蒼火墜, Blue Fire, Crash Down)
Incantation: Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws.
Description: Blue flames discharge from the palm. Angel aims the palm of her hand at her target and generates a torrent of blue energy before firing it at their target. The energy moves like a direct blast or a large wave of energy, depending on the amount of power which is placed into it. Depending on the user's proficiency with the technique, it can damage an opponent's Bankai.
Hadō # 63. Raikōhō (雷吼炮, Thunder Roar Sear; Viz "Fiery Lightning Howl")
Incantation: Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!
Description: Generating an orb of yellow lighting above the palm of her hand, Angel fires the built-up energy at her target as a massive concentration of energy which resembles a lightning strike. The effect has devastatingly destructive results.
Hadō # 73. Sōren Sōkatsui (双漣蒼火墜, Twin Lotus Blue Fire, Crash Down)+
Incantation: Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens.
Description: An advanced form of Hadō # 33. Sōkatsui, it has twice the effectiveness. Generating blue energy with her index and middle fingers, she makes a pushing motion with both of her palms to push the gathered energy toward the target in a concentrated blast. It is essentially a doubled version of Hadō # 33. Sōkatsui because Angel fires two bursts of blue energy with much greater potency than the single shot variety.
Hadō # 88. Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō (飛竜撃賊震天雷炮, Flying Dragon-Striking Heaven-Shaking Thunder Cannon)
Incantation: N/A
Description: A high-level Hadō which only Kidō masters can use. Angel raises her arm forward and outstretched, occasionally using their free hand to grip the firing arm for extra support, with the palm facing flat toward the target, and fires a gigantic beam of electrical and spiritual energy, which creates an enormous explosion upon impact.
Hadō # 90. Kurohitsugi (黒棺, Black Coffin)
Incantation: Seeping crest of turbidity. Arrogant vessel of lunacy! Boil forth and deny! Grow numb and flicker! Disrupt sleep! Crawling queen of iron! Eternally self-destructing doll of mud! Unite! Repulse! Fill with soil and know your own powerlessness!
Description: Kurohitsugi is a high-level Kidō which seals its target in a black spiritual coffin. The practitioner generates purple/black spiritual energy, which envelops the target with a powerful torrent of gravity before taking the form of a box of black energy, covered in several spear-like protrusions which pierce the box, lacerating the one inside from head to toe. Though the spell is very difficult to use, as some well renowned users have only been able to display a third of its power without using the incantation, she can use it easily at its top potential. However, if Angel uses the incantation it is noticeably different in appearance. The sky appears to darken as multiple boxes of black energy appear, each of them topped off with cross-shaped spears, before they multiply and close in on their victim. With the incantation, it has the power to distort space and time.
Hadō # 91. Senjū Kōten Taihō (千手皎天汰炮, Thousand-Hand Bright Heaven Culling-Sear)
Incantation: Limit of the thousands hands, respectful hands, unable to touch the darkness. Shooting hands unable to reflect the blue sky. The road that basks in light, the wind that ignited the embers, time that gathers when both are together, there is no need to be hesitant, obey my orders. Light bullets, eight bodies, nine items, book of heaven, diseased treasure, great wheel, grey fortress tower. Aim far away, scatter brightly and cleanly when fired
Description: Generating ten pink energy points around themselves, she fires them all at their target, resulting in an exceedingly devastating explosion.
Black Coffin Asylum: Upon activating this kido the entire area becomes dark. As walls of black from around Angel and her intended target. Spears and chains bind the box as they are locked inside of the Coffin. Creating a large dome like area capable of taking blows from the outside and inside. Within this space, the caster has control of the effects of this kido. Time is distorted within this Asylum and what seems like days or hours. Can be mere minutes outside of the Asylum. The inside appears like a Roman Gladiator's arena. Around the sides of it spears of onyx color float around in a clockwise motion. These may be shot at her target by her focus or will when desired. However, the true purpose of the Asylum is to allow a true one versus one battle. Tsubasa's invention of this kido doesn't end with merely it. Upon her defeat or ten posts, the Asylum will vanish allowing both parties to exit freely. Now, this can be avoided as people can see the sphere closing around them. If they act fast enough they can dodge being trapped inside of it. Allowing them to be free of its place. This kido uses the power of the level 90 kido Black Coffin into a different form. Thus why it has no number within the kido chart as the kidonumber 90 has always been Tsubasa's favorite.
Black Coffin Burial: Upon activation Black Chains shoot from the area around the victim. The chains have spikes which lacerate the victim and try to chain them down. As the traditional Black Box forms around the victim. Slowly spears impale from all sides piercing the person as they are struck by this. Avoiding the chains and box are part of the struggle. As the chains have a pulling and gravitational pull on them. When struck the kido ends similar to the effects of one without chant. Destroying or getting around it is fairly simple to those who know how to do kido. By performing it with both hands Angel does show a dark mark around his fingers. If the chains are avoided the user is basically capable of completely negating the effects of this spell. Meaning if they dodge the chains with speed or break them with strength. They will be able to avoid the spell entirely, these chains aren't unbreakable. And the spell level is 90 as this is also an alternate form on the Hadō number 90.Miscellaneous Kido
Keikaigi (繫界儀, World-Tying Rite)
Incantation: My right hand is the stone that bridges worlds. My left hand is the blade that binds reality. The black-haired shepherd is hung from a chair. Stratus clouds come, and I strike down the ibis.
Description: Connects the space tying the Human World and Hueco Mundo by creating a Garganta. The opening is generated between two large wooden posts jutting out from two large rock formations.
Sentan Hakuja (千反白蛇, Thousand-Coil White Snake)
Incantation: N/A
Description: A long, white piece of cloth is spun around to incorporate targets within its coils. As the cloth tightens, with a white flash, it teleports the targets to another location (cannot be used in battle).
Kūkanten'i (空間転位, Spatial Displacement)
Incantation: N/A
Description: Forbidden kido which sends a specified portion of space from one point to another. Limited to acting solely on energy in battles. Only in non combat threads, and with permission of the other parties can people be displaced as well
Noren Mekuri (暖簾捲り, Curtain Stripping)
Incantation: N/A
Description: Nullifies types of illusory effects which may be used to conceal something from view. Extending their hand, Angel appears to be gripping thin air before stripping away the technique which is currently in effect. Doing so creates a light blue-violet aura around the object which is being revealed as it gradually comes into view.
Items
Blindfold: The blindfold was engineered uniquely for Angel to serve her as was deemed best. Using the notes and the research left behind by Crystal, and the Ginto Sphere technology from Sofia, Tsubasa put his intellect to work in creating an artifact that would suit her. For all intents and purposes, the girl is blind. The blindfold serves the purpose of hiding her eyes. Though there’s nothing unsightly about them, its just largely preferred as they’re not being used to begin with. Beyond that however, the item functions as a form of power limiter. The amount of energy she possesses and the power she exhibits can be a bit much, and it was best deemed to be kept on check. Ideally, as Angel got stronger and got used to it, she would be able to remove the blindfold at will without problems. But, to avoid any potential mishaps, at least initially, she keeps it the majority of the time. When worn, the limiter lowers her power by one full tier (meaning an 0-2++ would be limited to 1-2++ while wearing it).
Thanks to Crystal’s work with robotics, Tsubasa’s work with nanotechnology, and Sofia’s technology of compressing and condensing energy and mechanical devices, he was able to configure the blindfold to link to her brain through mechanical and spiritual connections. Though she can’t see, the blindfold is able to scan an area through either infrared or night vision parameters and display a visual image for her mind to grasp. It's even able to project a sonar like sound wave that is inaudible to just about everyone including herself; meaning its harmless. The wave is able to project a constant picture of her surroundings like a form of hologram, allowing her at least some form of sight as a picture in her brain, despite her own inherent blindness. Both of the previously mentioned functions work primarily with energy in her surroundings, which means Angel is effectively blind in the typical sense when around powerless humans. Likewise, it is able to zoom in and out to great degrees in order to capture visual images to send to the brain for scouting purposes. It's even able to see through spiritually concealed constructs too difficult for the naked eye to perceive. As an added bonus, the color scheme of the blindfold can be changed at will to match the color of her outfit or the one she desires.
Reiatsu Concealing Dress: This item was created by Crystal before her untimely progression into what she became, as well as with the help of Tsubasa. The black dress she typically wears was created specifically to allocate the reishi Angel periodically absorbs from her surroundings. Although she can supplement it with her own reiryoku, it works ideally with reishi as a medium. It essentially makes it make it extremely more difficult to sense or find her in the surroundings. There is however a way to locate her through spiritual signal alone given specific circumstances. For instance, with individuals who possess the reishi manipulation skill, a mastery above hers would easily allow them to find her. For those who do not possess the skill, then the mental deduction skill is used instead. Once more, those whose skill in that tree exceed her reishi manipulation skill would locate her with ease. If she desires, she’s even able to run her kido or reishi through the dress to bend light around it, enabling her to remove her from sight and detection of the naked eye. Of course, seeing her despite the previous is not too difficult. Any individual with either a mastery in focus or mental deduction of master would be able to see through the otherwise invisible form of the girl. Also, she cannot fight efficiently while in that form since any real energy or damaging attack made would make her visible once more.
Location Signaling Headband: Although her skills make her a useful asset in recognisance and stealth solo missions, the headband she wears was created as a one way signaling device through which she can project her energy to a predetermined location. While one wouldn’t be able to pinpoint her location through the headband as they saw fit, in a moment of desperation, Angel may choose to run her energy through the headband to do so. If she were to do this, then her location would appear displayed on a screen to all of the people of ineterest within her organization. As such, is something she has never used, and likely never will unless a truly dangerous, important, or life threatening event requires her to signal for help or extraction.
Anti-Hierro Boots and Gloves: Despite their name, these items of clothing do not have an effect or advantage over hierro. Instead, both her long boots and her gloves were created of a very light yet extremely tough and durable material. Though they look and feel like regular fabric, the material is tough enough to go up against the hierro of an Arrancar. And while it may not be as powerful as some of the very best out there, it provides Angel with both a very powerful defense, as well as uniquely devastating tool to use in her hand to hand combat.
Spirit Mint: One of the most recent and most useful inventions by the clever girl. Spirit gum is simply a very small button that houses two pill sized pieces of mints. It took Angel quite a bit of time to get the project working efficiently but it finally did. Using her own energy in its utmost quiet and serene state, she was able to synthesize bits of her own energy within the mint housing created from her virtual manipulator materials. Although she keeps a pair of mints with her at all times, the invention was primarily meant as a way to offer it to the rest of the members of the Vanguard if they so desired. Each spirit meant can be made to be of any flavor the user desires. Angel simply has to be told what flavor it is, and she can create it. Beyond the obvious effect of making one’s breath smell like the scent of the pill, the mint has an extra added effect. By chewing or sucking on it for periods of time, the user is allowed a boost, sort of like an adrenaline rush that temporarily enhances the speed, reaction time, and strength. The increases however are nowhere near close to those of a release, and neither should they be. They’re just enough to be noticeable as distinct increases.
However, an effect like that doesn’t come without a cost, as despite her intellect, there are things that are simply beyond the gir for now. For starters, no one is allowed to have more than two mints with them. Angel makes sure that the limit is set to two. Why? While using one doesn’t necessarily cause noticeable damage, using two of them would induce very obvious and imminent side effects in the form of very strong migraines. There’s a reason why the limit is set to two, as having more would create enough damage that would be beyond fixing. Also, the effects do not stack. Taking two mints at once would cause the negative side effects, and would not be any more effective than taking just one. But the limitations don’t stop there, as taking the mint does not cause the effects right away. It's not a shot intravenously as to not cause even further negative side effects. Instead, it possesses a very slow release. Essentially, after using the mint, it takes roughly three posts before the effect of the spirit mint take effect. The duration of the spirit mint’s effects are limited to three posts when using the first pill, and to two posts when using the second mint.
Ring of Retribution: A very simple design of Angel’s that although a working prototype for her use, will be produced in larger numbers for anyone in the Vanguard that may want it. Only one ring is allowed per character; no more. On the inside of the ring, Angel fitted a very weak but extremely thin film that acts as a form of power cell. It is most definitely insufficient to provide enough power for lengthy use, but that’s not its purpose to begin with. Throughout the length of the ring, barely visible odd letters form words in a language long forgotten to almost all, and whose meaning seems to hold no real value at the present time. To activate its effects, the user needs to press on the ring and run their energy through it. This causes the power cell within to jumpstart, projecting a ring-sized circle of the same dimensions as the former.
The ring is able to be manipulated to shrink smaller than the object itself or to expand into a much larger ring with a maximum diameter of 50 meters. Of course, it can be made to be anywhere in between. The edges of the ring are of an odd but extremely powerful energy that possess such level of destructive sharpness that they can cut through most solid objects. Nonetheless, it's primarily intended to cut through energy based attacks. However, despite its one use, the ring possesses a lengthy amounts of flaws. After all, despite ehr intellect, there was just so much technology that could be crammed into the little area of a ring. For starters, the effects of the ring last only one post. That means that as soon as its projected, the ring of energy needs to be used or it will be lost. Beyond that is the fact that no user is able to possess more than one ring. But it doesn’t end there since recharge is an issue. Regardless of how much time passes, the ring is unable to be recharged by available reishi ordinarily. The power cell is just too weak and requires more dedicated artificial charging stations. As such, ordinarily, the ring can only be used once per thread. The only exception is when the user is in areas with overwhelming levels of reishi like on Hueco Mundo and Soul Society where the it can be used twice.
Switch Drive:
Switch Drive Ability 1: Holy Judgement: As to make up for her lack of a direct, powerful offense, Holy Judgement is an ability that draws from the rather large amount of energy that Angel possesses. By channeling a rather hefty sum of her energy, Angel can use this to release a powerful blast of energy that utilizes near the utmost peak of her power. As a result of this, the attack will scale off her tier. Thus (at the time of writing this), at 1-5, she will be able to have the potential to level an entire city with the amount of power that she can release with this technique. This can scale and stop at 0-2, leaving her with the potential to destroy a planet, if she had the remaining energy to do so. However, as per the destructive prowess of this, Angel has only a single use of this technique before she is swiftly drained of energy, something that can leave her rather exhausted, if not handled properly.
Switch Drive Ability 2: Shielded Sin: As the polar opposite to Holy Judgement, Shielded Sin works as a direct defense. Upon activation, a large golden bubble will manifest around her, allowing her to create a rather powerful defense that has many different options. However, because of the immense energy drain that this pushes onto her, it is mostly only useful for one or two posts at maximum -- leaving it a rather situational technique. Regardless, this barrier is incredibly potent, capable of blocking a single attack up to a tier lower than Angel's own. However, a multitude of large-scale attacks will not be able to hold, causing the fortification to shatter. However, if Angel were to focus more of her energy into this, it would be possible for her to be able to, at the very least, weak the attack of someone higher than her. Not by an incredulous amount, or completely negate it, but enough so that the damage that she would take would be at the very least, be less drastic than what it could be. Furthermore, like Holy Judgement, this technique shares it's limitations of a single use in a thread, as well as what was said before -- the immense energy drain that can potentially leave Angel extremely exhausted if either attempting to use it again or just through the use of the ability alone.
Wilson: The first artificial creation Angel made herself, a true testament to the intellect she possessed between the potential of Crystal’s mind and the top of the line technological chipset implanted in her; possibly a foreshadow to the great inventions to come in the future. Wilson was above all else, a companion to the girl to whom she would talk to when she didn’t feel comfortable speaking to anyone else. As a fully synthetic droid, Wilson does not have a soul. It wasn’t programmed to have too much sentience or emotions either. Even though it was engineered to place priority on self-preservation, the droid has been able to create its own subprogram in an effort to overcome its fear of danger in an effort to help Angel in any way it can. Its sense of loyalty and care for the girl are undisputed, even if they were never programmed to begin with. Though it is able to speak, its communication is done through highly complex and advanced droidspeak code, a compressed and intricate version of binary. Both due to her own mechanical nature and the technology in her phantom tech, the girl is able to easily understand what Wilson says as though he spoke normally. In return, she’s able to speak ordinarily or through the same droidspeak language. Regardless of the method, Wilson is able to understand it. The external design is rather simple, with a little dome for a head, and the bulk of the body made up of a ball on which it rolled for travel.
Among its functions, Angel coded the droid to be able to understand practically any known language, and even some forgotten ones. It has built in mechanisms and tools that allow it to hack into just about any sort of electrical and digital station with ease. All the equipment not visible on the outside, is stored within, in several circular tool bay disks that can be upgraded with ease. It possesses the means to take picture and video feed as well as an extensively large storage space. When the situation demands it, it is also able to, with permission, upload certain information or files up to Angel’s phantom tech brain for long term storage and review. Being a highly utilitarian droid, it does not possess very many functional combat capabilities. It’s able to spew a highly flammable sticky black liquid, as well as creating strong short electrical bursts to try and zap an assailant into stopping, as well as a welding torch. A single powerful energy blast can be shot from its core, although it’s so draining that it can only be used once every five posts. More importantly however, the main and most unique quality of the droid is its ability to create a holographic gate of about 10 meters in height and 3 meters in width that connects Angel’s location to another of her choosing; be it Seireitei, the world of the living, Hueco Mundo, or the Demon World. Of course, she tends not to visit places where she is not welcomed for obvious reasons. It is essentially her way of travelling to other areas to satisfy her curiosity and sense of adventure without having others at her back, as would be the case if she were to use the standard senkaimon. But what’s most valuable above all else, is that Wilson is her friend.
Ted: The droid named Ted, formerly known as Teddy was one of the last and most successful creations of Crystal during her tenure as Captain of the Research and Development Division. It was the prototype of the Familiar Project. In essence, they were utility droids with minor combat capabilities. They were intended to do two things in their main programming. They needed to be useful to Shinigami, as well as provide a sensible form of defense for the young children in the world of the living. They were typically created as some form of animal that could talk and play with the kids, yet able to defend them from relatively weaker Hollows. On the worst case scenarios, they were meant to give up their well being to stave off a great threat long enough for Shinigami to get there.
As for Teddy, as the name implied was designed after a semi light brown teddy bear. The droid was roughly about 2 feet tall, and did not weigh more than 10 lbs. Care was taken to not make them extremely heavy as they were meant to be played with after all. Teddy is able to understand practically any known language, including binary, and even some forgotten ones. Nonetheless, it typically communicates in the same language as Angel. Unlike Wilson, Teddy is created to be fully sentient, and does have feelings and emotions of his own. The combat capabilities it possess are limited to enhanced strength and agility, as well as being able to climb up any surface through technology built into his paws.
When Crystal left the Gotei, she reluctantly left Teddy in the care of her former Lieutenant, Bampaia Kyu. Nothing was told to the little guy in regards to what had happened to its creator. However, upon meeting Angel, the droid felt an odd resemblance and feel towards the girl, almost as if he knew her. It didn’t take long for him to put two and two together given the similar energy emanating from her, although he chose not to say anything as she had seemingly forgotten all. Getting attached to the girl as he had with her former self, Teddy follows her around Seireitei, and sometimes Angel even takes him out on missions too. In the time she was away however, rascals from her division under the new leadership tampered some with his programming. It didn’t change him much other than making him a rather big pervert.

Body Modifications
Engineered Immune System (passive): One of the first changes that was made to the doll’s body prior to transplanting the soul. Crystal possessed a unique ability as a result of centuries of tinkering and introducing strange chemical solutions into her body. It turned out that the former Captain possessed a very high amount of T-helper cells and a very strong immune system. That coupled with the myriad of solutions she purposely exposed herself with enabled her to obtain an ability that secured her from foreign pathogens. In an effort to replicate the same thing on the physiology of the doll, Crystal and Tsubasa would study her samples were trying to replicate the same on the physical body of Angel. Essentially, her body fights off any foreign pathogens like viruses, poisons, or ill solutions that would otherwise impair or throw of her homeostasis. The ability is not regeneration. It cannot fix, mend or reconstruct damage caused to her. It only serves to regain homeostasis in her body by fighting off foreign solutions or pathogens.
Energy Sensitive Strands (passive): Another natural ability of Crystal was that she could control the density and length of her hair, as well as certain attributes it possessed. In an effort to feel more like herself in her new body, both scientists had spent considerable amounts of time trying to imitate what the former Captain was used to. Granted though successful, the former Captain would never be able to truly enjoy it herself given the aftermath of the experiment. Regardless, Angel is able to run her own unique energy throughout the length of her typically short hair. By doing so, she’s able to take control over several aspects of her own hair.
If she wished, she’s able to extend the strands to be extremely long, though never quite more than 50 meters in length. She’s able to thicken the strands if she desires, although no more than three inches each. Conversivel the girl is able to thin out her strands of her to near nanometers thanks primarily to Tsubasa’s own nanotechnology powers, making it extremely difficult to see by most. Angel is even able to affect the density, allowing her hair to feel extremely heavy or light. The texture and feel is even malleable as she’s able to influence it to make its lengths as sharp as a blade, with an equally sharp tip, or simply jag the lengths with strands protruding from the sides like fish hook-like jagged barbed wire. Should her hair at anypoint be cut, Angel is able to re-lengthen or shorten back to her typically favored length. More importantly, as an extension of her own body, the strands of hair will always move as fast as Angel herself can move. And just like any other limb of hers, the girl is able to run either her kido or reishi techniques through it.
LFRS: The left forearm ray shield, shortened as LFRS, is one of the body modifications made to Angel’s physical body. As the name details, it is located on her left forearm. At her command, several pores on the area acting as forms of vents, let out a translucent ray shield that protects against energy based attacks. Essentially, attacks made of energy would be stopped by the shield. To be able to create this however, the two scientists had to pool together the Ginto Sphere technology from Sofia, the nanotechnology from Tsubasa and their combined intellect to be able to devise a way to shrink the materials to fit into the forearm. The actual engineering design behind the construct is rather simple. A small but efficient cylindrical power core is fitted within the forearm. Just the power core however was not enough for the effects. On top of that they needed to add several nano power cells to aid in the supply of energy. To be able to have a full charge, the reishi Angel continuously absorbs helps in refueling the power core and the power cells. Note needs to be taken that the power sources are not meant to produce energy for the shield, instead, they supply it. Beyond the power source, the materials and mechanics do get a bit complicated.
The construction required a rather diminutive projection focuser for the shield, a nano emitter antenna built within, a micro shield projector as well as a nano focusing dish. As noted, constructing something of that caliber was no easy feat despite having two of the smartest alive Shinigami working on it. And even then, despite all the technological advances and breakthroughs that culminated in its construction, it is still highly limited, even by more than the intricate parts required to have it in working order. For starters, the ray shield only stops energy attacks. Any physical attack would pass through unhindered. Beyond that, regardless of the great technology used, ray shields are still extremely limited in what they can do depending on a number of factors. It is highly dependent on how close the shield created is from the source (Angel). That means she is unable to create the shield away from her or for allies; it can only be used on her person. It is also highly dependent on the power the latter applies to it for its use. In essence, in Angel’s case, though the power she delivers for the shield in tandem with the power core and power cells are indeed great, the ray shield is unable to block energy based attacks from opponents over a tier higher than hers. If that wasn’t enough, the ray shield is also limited depending on the surface area it covers. What that means is that Angel is unable to make her shield cover and wrap around her entire body, let alone a larger area. The amount of energy required is simply too great. Instead, the shield’s surface area is roughly 3 feet in radius with the forearm acting as its center.
LHD: The left hand drill, shortened to LHD, is a rather self-explanatory modification made to Angel’s left hand. The speed at which the hand rotates can reach up to 50 kHz (kilohertz). The rotation occurs at the wrist and the extreme speed it reaches makes the hand take the form and function of an extremely powerful and high powered drill. The speed it achieves is such that when in used, it sounds very similar to a robust and larger dental drill. For the most part, the function of her LHD is to drill into and pierce through objects, be they rock or a barrier.
Holographic Communicator: A complex device built into the mechanical workings of her right hand. On her command, Angel is able to project a holographic screen that spawns a subtle beam of golden light from the palm of her right hand. The light beam extends roughly about five inches from her palm, culminating in a holographic screen with a size of about 16 inches. The screen serves as a way of video call where Angel is able to hear and see (thanks to her modified blindfold) the other party, while they’re able to hear and see her as well. Although Angel may make calls in such a manner, she cannot receive them. The idea is that such a technology would be used to communicate vital information, but only as a form of output from her to its destination. Typically, the only contacts available to Angel are those of the current ranking officers of the Vanguard. However, should she want to, given her intellect, she could be able to add another contact if desired.
RFVC: The right forearm vacuum catalyst, shortened to RFVC, is modification that was built into Angel’s right forearm. A complex set of mechanisms built on the sub dermal layer of her skin have been adapted to create a small and momentary vacuum at her discretion. A single small power core fitted along the length of the forearm, and several diminutive power cells are implemented as a means of fueling the device. It also required a nano focusing dish, a very tiny vacuum projector, and a projection focuser. Typically the technology would have required more space, but with Crystal and Tsubasa, two very renowned inventors in Shinigami history, they were able to synthesize into a much smaller size given their resources. With the help of the former Captain Commander’s nanotechnology, and the Ginto Sphere technology Sofia allowed them to use for their experimental endeavors, the two were successful in reverse engineering them to provide satisfactory results.
When used, Angel releases energy from her right forearm that creates a double layered vacuum; the reasoning as to why it’s simple. It’s meant to whistand electrical attacks. To put into perspective, the notes left by Crystal are as follows. All forms of electricity are founded on electrons. These are negatively charged particles that orbit the nuclei of atoms. In some materials, like most metals and people, the electrons, in this case called free electrons, detach from their atoms and move around. Those electrons are known as electrical conductors because they allow electricity to flow easily through those materials. Electricity can exist, but in order to move, it needs to be transmitted by a conductor. Simple. In some materials however, the electrons stick with their atoms rather than moving around; in other words they’re tightly bound to their atoms. Those materials are called electrical insulators. When taking into account the vacuum the scientists engineered for Angel however one ought to note the peculiar nature it possesses. A vacuum is the absence of atmosphere and is inherently a neutral force. To understand the reason why her vacuum functions so well against electricity let’s look at the following. Typically, when an electric field is applied across a conductor, one gets a current density due to the internal charge flow. Conductivity is 0 in a vacuum, and electrical fields do not spontaneously cause currents to flow. Thus, the vacuum is not a conductor at all. Even typical electrical insulators have low, but non-zero values of conductivity.
In layman’s terms, the electricity flows through without hindering her until it dissipates. However, despite its effects, the technology used is far from perfect. In fact, compared to some potential advances in the future it is actually quite primitive by comparison. For starters the power core and power cells do not generate the energy required for its effect, they just supply it. As such, every time it’s used, it needs to be recharged through the reishi she continuously absorbs. Essentially what that means is that with each successful use, Angel requires an additional two posts to recharge the core and the cells before it’s able to be used once more. The limitations don’t stop there however as it’s also taxed by the surface area it covers. It follows the same principle of a power unit fueling a certain area. While a small generator might suffice to power a home, it simply cannot endure the taxing demands of producing energy for a whole neighborhood. In Angel’s case, she’s only able to create the vacuum around her body. That means she’s unable to protect others, like her allies, at the same time. And not just that, the technology is even further taxed by the distance the vacuum is created from its source (Angel). Basically she cannot make the vacuum very large or eve made to cover a wide area. It can only cover a small area around her body.
Boot Blades: Hidden in both of her boots, a single blade is hidden until she decides to use. When she does, a small four inch blade, sharpened rather well on both sides and rather pointy at the tip protrudes from the front of her boots. There isn’t anything entirely special or out of the ordinary about them. Given their relatively small size they’re used all that often except when necessary, and likely within very close quarters. At her command, the blades will retract into the boot just as they were projected out.
Hojiku-Zai (補肉剤, Flesh-mending Drug): Crystal had been around for a very long time, being in the then 12th division throughout Mayuri Kurotsuchi’s tenure, and eventually becoming the Captain of the Research and Development squad herself. Regardless, despite all her knowledge and scientific breakthroughs, very few could come close to the genius mastermind of individuals like Mayuri; Crystal however came dam close. Throughout years of research and trial and error, and finally with the help of Tsubasa, she managed to reverse engineer the flesh mending drug. It was in essence a regenerative serum that gave off a vibrant green hue. Upon injection, the serum was capable of regenerating limbs and healing injuries at the cost of intense levels of pain that disturbed even Mayuri.
When Angel’s physical shell was created, Crystal saw to it that her body be filled with the solution from the serum. Being an artificially created body instead of a real organic one, her body lacked any real organs or nerves, or even blood. In its place, the fluid that runs throughout her body is that of the flesh mending drug. It is contained in very thin film filaments that directly link throughout her body, and by extension out towards the surface of the skin. Whenever Angel receives an injury, the disruption in her spiritual energy and shaken state of homeostasis of her physical body causes serum to be funneled over the area and used to heal or regenerate. Due to the lack of nerves or receptors, the pain inducing trait of the serum poses no ill effect for her. However, if she’s cut or injured, the blood that would be seen from her would be the serum’s typical green hue as opposed to the normal red.
Skills
Swordsmanship: Despite her progress with kido, the art of the blade was easily and by far the one that came the easiest to her. She didn’t even need basic training at first. Everything just happened to fall into its place, and rightfully so. As far as combat abilities, Crystal was an extremely avid master of the blade, and weapons in general. Her releases had all revolved around the use of swords and shields, and chains. She was a well known and renowned master of the blade, but that wasn’t the only place Angel took it from. The inherent remnants of the energy in the Ginto Sphere technology used for her creation had traces of Sofia. The girl was a true master of the art of the sword, and prided herself in creating elaborate and exuberant motions while maintaining dominance and grace. While Angel knew nothing of either of them, she did find that she had not just ease but innate talent. She knew where to move, and how to move. The complex workings seemed simple. As she spared with Tsubasa, one of her creators, even he had to admit the skill she possessed was great.
The fluid motions, the quick jabs and cuts that prized economy of movement to prolong the fighting. The articulate and elaborate feints and acrobatic jumps to make way for intricate offensive and defensive maneuvers. It didn’t take long for Angel to realize that despite her skill in other arts, she was, above all else, destined to be a master of the blade. She was able to channel her fury and power through her weapon and make a connection with her enemy. Serving as a form of conductor she embraced the fury of her opponent and allowed her to fuel her in her quest for victory. The sense of urgency and malignant precision of her strikes seemed to woe anyone she sparred against. Her style could sometimes be described as aggressive and fast paced, combining elements of her other gifted areas like strength, speed, and agility. Her combat form seems to require great internal focus, as though she seems very calm and collected on the exterior, she experiences great internal pressure while using it. The mighty, paradoxical, and unpredictable attack patterns have come to shape her style. And if her skills weren’t already beyond most to begin with, her training with one of the most renown masters of the blade, the former Captain Commander, enabled her to break through plateaus and become even greater in the skill than she could have anticipated.
Colossal Strength: The body of Angel was designed to possess an incredible level of physical strength, augmented even more by the soul of the Captain that was housed within it. Crystal and Tsubasa work endlessly on the body of the doll before even attempting the extraction and transplantation experiment. The body of the doll is exceedingly heavy, weighting in at just over 350 lbs despite a height of 5’10” ft (with heels). The two masterminds were trying to create the doll as physically powerful as they could without compromising the speed. They could have easily made Angel much stronger, and with a way in excess of ten tons, but that would have negatively affected the movement speed, and would be seen as unnecessary.
With the technology acquired from Sofia’s Ginto Sphere technology, the two scientists were able to shrink and condense the workings of the doll, enabling the parts and pieces to be smaller yet just as efficient. Being able to fit more into less, and allowing them to push the envelope further enabled the scientists to make a body that was exceptionally powerful in regards to physical strength. Single punches are easily able to crater several meters around her without truly putting too much force into them. Kicks are able to shatter and break away exceptionally powerful and large structures of titanic magnitudes. More importantly, her strength allows her to use to fuel her swordsmanship. Even against opponents who rely on pure strength for the skill with the sword, Angel is able to project such a mighty power behind her swings that she surprises even the most dedicated and physically imposing individuals to date.
Kido: As soon as she tried, Angel discovered she had an innate skill and talent for Kido. Not only was she able to learn the basics at an exceedingly fast rate, but she was able to master even more difficult spells with strange ease. This was in part due to the fact that Crystal was a very powerful and intellectually leaning individual who didn’t have much difficulty for the art herself. Of course it helped that Angel had Captain Midori teaching her the basics and working on her technique, while having former Captain Commander Tsubasa perfect her form and instruct her in the means and ways of perfecting more difficult and obscure spells. There was no doubt that the girl possessed the skill and talent to thrive in such a specialty.
Hoho: The body of the doll had been made exceedingly nimble despite the weight it carried. It was only made possible thanks to the Ginto Sphere technology Sofia allowed the scientist to work with. Otherwise the girl would have either been a really heavy and slow individual, or a very fast and light meek being. Instead, they were able to reverse engineer the technology to synthesize the workings, enabling her to move extremely fast, without being hindered by the heft. Every possible angled was researched, and every possible outlet was considered in an effort to maximize not just her strength, but the speed she could use; a perfect balanced was projected and achieved. Angel was able to move at exceedingly fast rates using Hoho, made only easier by the strong spiritual energy that fueled her being.
Pain Free: Angel’s body is devoid of organs or nerve endings. Those were peculiarities of Crystal’s former body. In its place, a number of mechanical devices take its place. Due to the lack of a truly organic physiology, the synthetic body of the girl is completely unable to feel pain. There are simply no nerve endings attached to anything that can be cut to induce pain. However, being completely pain free it's not as good as one would expect. In fact, it has very obvious and imminent dangers. Sure, she could get sliced with a jagged barbed sword and not feel any pain. However, not feeling pain makes her unable to feel that she's being cut or injured. While grand masters in pain endurance could just see the damage being done to them without feeling ill effects, Angel cannot enjoy this. She's blind. Her only means of knowing she's being injured or cut is by sound or through vibrations that project a form of mental image. As such, sometimes it can be very difficult to know if she's injured due to her inability to feel pain.
Reishi Manipulation: As a primary racial benefit of the doll, Crystal had chosen to go with reishi manipulation. There were a few aspects to choose from, but that’s the one she seemed most curious about. During her centuries of research she had studied how Quincy used the form of energy, but it was still largely a mystery to her. As for Angel, the girl is able to draw reishi from her surroundings with ease, just as she was programmed to be able to. In areas with high reishi density such as Soul Society and Hueco Mundo, the rate at which she absorbs the particles are much faster. In fact, her skill over reishi manipulation is such that it even overshadows her skill with kido, easily. Angel always thought her skill was so high because that’s how she was programmed, but she was only half right. The girl did indeed exhibit a very powerful control over reishi. But the extents and the reasoning behind her dominion over it could not be fully attributed to just the technology in her. Crystal surely hadn’t considered it, and there was a chance even Tsubasa had passed it off as an oversight.
The technology used to make the soul transfer easier, Sofia’s Ginto Sphere models, were inherently filled with reishi and energy from the girl. Perhaps that’s what made the transition even easier since the scientists were working with elements that were similar and available in the project. It worked sort of like a blood transfusion. Technically any blood could be transplanted to an individual, but using the right type of blood would make for much more efficient and positive results. The same had been true, as the reishi constructs of the ginto sphere technology had been instrumental for Angel’s creation. To no fault of either of the scientists however, something more was obtained. The reishi had the spiritual signature of the Quincy Sofia, and as such it did bear a form of presence or semblance in the energy that allowed the girl to peer into her own dominion of reishi. In short, Angel was able to manipulate reishi with much more ease than a typical doll would, both because of the technology built on her, and due to the energy of Sofia within the Ginto Sphere technology used in her creation. As an extra personal effect, the way Angel’s reishi manifests is not in the typical light blue color, but instead, in a vibrant shade of gold.

- Reishi Manipulation Techniques
Katana of the Archangel: At will, a ring of gold reishi is created by her with several inscriptions along the edges of the inside. From that circle, a beautiful and large katana is projected. The weapon is exceedingly long and likely difficult to wield. Despite its size and possibly weight, Angel is able to use it with ease given her skill in swordsmanship and her unnatural level of physical strength. The length of the weapon from the pommel to the tip of the blade measures out to about 52 inches or roughly 4 feet and 4 inches. The length of the actual blade is that of 42 inches, or roughly 3 feet and 6 inches. The length of the blade is exceedingly sharp, easily able to cut through objects with ease. The look and construction of the blade give off a light grayish metallic look despite being made of reishi instead of actually metal. The hilt is inherently black, but several grayish white thread wrapping obscures it, giving a beautiful white look that is not too dissimilar to the color of her hair. An ornate white tassel like piece extends from the pommel with a similar grayish white look to her hair. Like the rest of her reishi created weapons, Angel is able to materialize it back into her hands at will if tossed, as well as control its movement telepathically through her energy.
Blade of the Apostle: Though the weapon bears some resemblance to the katana of the archangels, it has some distinct differences. It's a bit larger, measuring out to 77 inches or 6 feet in and 5 inches from the pommel to the tip. The length of the actual blade is that of 67 inches, or 5 feet and 7 inches. The weapon is summoned similarly through the rest, by creating a golden ring of reishi through which the sword is projected into her hands. The length of the blade is a bit more curved than her katana, but it's nonetheless extremely sharp and deadly like the former. What sets it apart besides its larger dimensions is its design. From the handguard, a small, tanto like blade extends, with the actual longer blade being connected it underneath it. If so desired, Angel can have them break apart to be used as a long blade and a knife at unison, or simply use them as one. Like the rest of her reishi created weapons, Angel is able to materialize it back into her hands at will if tossed, as well as control its movement telepathically through her energy.
Guardian of Heaven: Easily one the largest and certainly the heaviest blade at her disposal, Angel is able to summon the weapon by creating a reishi ring around another and projecting the weapon into her grasp. The overall length of the weapon from the pommel to the tip of the blade measures out to 81 inches or roughly 6 feet and 9 inches, much taller than Angel herself. The actual length of the blade is that of 53 inches or roughly 4 feet and 5 inches. The width of the blade from one edge to the other was roughly 10 inches. Though both sides of the blade were sharp, the powerful blunt damage created by its swing was also to be feared. Despite the behemoth of a weight it carried, Angel was easily able to wield it, either two or one handed with extreme ease as if it weighted nothing due to the physical strength she commanded. At the tip of the hilt or handguard, several thick chains seemed to wrap around it. If she ever desired, the chains could be made to extend up to a maximum length of 20 meters for a number of purposes ranging from trying to snare an opponent, to swinging her blade farther. Like the rest of her reishi created weapons, Angel is able to materialize it back into her hands at will if tossed, as well as control its movement telepathically through her energy.
Purgatory's Executioner: By far the longest blade Angel can summon so far. The sword is very simplistic although quite menacing in its butcher style design. Typically, the overall length of the weapon, from the tip of the blade to the end of the pommel is 84 inches or roughly 7 feet long. The actual length of the blade is 72 inches or roughly 6 feet long. The weapon is summoned into Angel’s hand, just like the rest, by creating a golden set of reishi rings from which it projects. Only one side of the blade is kept sharp, extremely so, while the other is purposely left blunt. It enables the girl to use the weapon to either chop cleanly or bash strongly with its blunt end. Despite the inherent incredible sharpness of the blade, it is not its most noteworthy trait. At will, the girl is able to extend the length of the handle to be shorter or longer. The actual blade portion does not grow; it's only the handle that grows. From its original one foot in length, the handle may be made to shrink to six inches, or extend to be as long as 10 feet. Of course, longer lengths are not too practical to maintain in battle, and as such are meant more as surprise attacks and jabs. Nonetheless, her ability to wield the weapon in either form, either two handed or one handed is a testament to her fearsome strength despite the considerable weight of her sword.
Faithseeker: Creating two golden reishi rings, one slightly above her head, and one closer to her legs, Angel projects a bow made of energy that looks and feels like the real deal. The weapon looks as though its created to mimic very strong and durable metals, despite not being truly of that element. For the most part, the weapon allows Angel to fire reishi like arrows from it. Likewise, at her command, she’s able to even fit one of her blades on it (logically the smallest ones), and and fire it away. The girl is even able to use the bow as a conduit to run and fire some of her kido. On the portion at which the girl pulls back on the string, she has engineered a source of trigger on its creation. Essentially, she’s able to fire and detach the sharp, pointy blade of the bow to be sent in what turns out to be a very powerful explosive attack of a rather great magnitude. However, while materializing the pointy blade back unto the bow is done extremely quickly, actually being able to gather enough reishi from her surroundings to make the same attack requires an additional three posts.
Blades of Light: During combat, and at Angel's own discretion, as long as she wills it, her blade glows with a bright blue hue and separates her blade into seven blades; six blades and the one she holds. Though she may choose to do so at any time, she prefers to do so at the time of impact or collision with another weapon to encircle her opponent. The conglomeration of the six swords hover in the air in a five meter radius from the opponent in different directions. If she so wills it, the swords would instead be scattered in different places in the battle field. While the swords are divided, Angel is able to move at lightning fast speeds, much faster than she otherwise could, enveloped in a golden hue of reishi. However, the extreme speed of the movement is only towards a blade and she may not move in such a way wherever she desires. She may however, at those incredibly fast speeds, slash with her weapon at her foe as she travels towards the destination of a blade. Every time she reaches a sword, it is automatically added to the original thus decreasing the number in the field. The more blades she collects the stronger her swings become and the damage they cause until they have been collected all, at which point a near blinding speed in comparison to the previous brings Angel crashing her weapon down on her opponent for a final strike.
Archangel's Light: On her command, Angel may create a single replica of herself, named A. For all intents and purposes it looks almost identical to her, save for longer hair, and a slightly different set of clothes. This replica is a tangible entity that shares all her abilities and weaknesses. However, the entity is just a bit weaker than the original as it will always be a tier lower. Nonetheless, the entity is just mildly self aware as it is primarily controlled by the thought and will of the original. Although the replica enjoys the same skills and powers of the original her use and stay are limited. Unless the replica is defeated beforehand by means of a deadly blow, it can only remain in the field for a duration of six posts. Once the total number of posts have elapsed, Angel is unable to gather enough reishi to summon the replica for an extra four posts. However, if at any time, she decides to call back and dematerialize her replica before four posts have elapsed, the cool-down is then reduced to only two posts. For non-combat social threads, and if allowed by the other parties, A may act as an npc controlled by Angel to interact. Otherwise, A is sometimes used by Angel to help her with her many scientific experiments.
Heavenly protection (passive): By continuously allowing a very thin film of reishi to cover her skin, Angel is able to heighten the toughness and durability of her skin to impact and blows. It doesn’t stop neither of the previous, but it allows her to whistand just a bit more damage, and weaken potentially grievous injuries to much less severe wounds. In locations where reishi is abundant, like in Soul Society or Hueco Mundo, the excess of reishi enables her to create a thicker and more powerful film of reishi to work with.
Archangel’s Embrace: Easily one of the most beautiful techniques at her disposal, the inherent irony in the technique makes it all the more unique to the girl. For someone that’s always felt so lost, on her own, and alone, the technique creates a number of constructs to keep her company. Upon using the technique, reishi begins to engulf the area around her as it erects structures that appear as though they were real and carved from stone. A circular area of stone-like reishi is made with Angel at its center. The distance from the girl to any end of the circle at any time is roughly that of a 50 meters radius, meaning that as she moves, the center of the circle moves by extension. At five different locations on the edges of the circle, an angel statue of roughly 5 meters stands beautifully, a true testament to its craft. The positioning of the five angel statues give off the look of a triangle if one were to see it from above. Despite their similar structural design, each of the five statues looks strikingly different. One possesses a light red hue, one a light blue hue, one a dark blue tonality, one a yellow undertone, and one is a silvery white. Each of the colors is meant to stand for one thing. The red stands for fire, the light blue for ice, the dark blue for water, the yellow for lightning, and the silvery white for reishi.
Angel is able to pick one of the five available angels to enhance the ability it stands for by 25% per statue still standing. She can only pick one. Despite the great increase the technique provides, it has very imminent and obvious disadvantages that make it less desirable than it may seem. For starters, once Angel has picked a statue, she cannot change her choice. She can pick one, and only one for the duration of the technique. Whatever statue she picks she is stuck with. That being said, although the technique ordinarily lasts for a total of five posts, it is extremely simple to destroy earlier than that. If a statue is hit with an attack of the same ability they represent, it will cave down with ease regardless of how weak the attack is. For instance, the weakest ember fired by the weakest of individuals would still cripple and destroy in an instant the red hue angel. If all five statues are destroyed the technique ends right away. There’s another important disadvantage of the technique in the very same benefit it provides her. Anyone within the circle receives the same enhancement to the ability picked, be they enemies or not. What that means is that if the enemy is able to use the same ability being enhanced, then they too would receive the same benefit Angel enjoys. The hardships don’t stop there however. The technique incurs a three post cooldown before enough energy can be gathered for its use once more if at least one statue was still standing once its time elapsed. If however all statues were destroyed, thus ending the technique abruptly, then Angel is required to gather energy for a duration of six posts before the technique can be used once more.
Gate of Heaven: Bringing her hands forth, the girl is able to influence the reishi around her to erect a towering wall of about 50 meters to rise before her. The wall is extremely thick as well, measuring just beyond 10 meters in width. Though the material seems to be a strange combination of metal and stone, it is neither. The pure white construction of the gate is made entirely of very dense amounts of reishi. Along its length and its sides, the gate has several inscriptions and designs which feature angels and heavenly themes. Typically, the wall stands as one of Angel’s most powerful form of defense. Ordinarily, the wall would stand for about five posts if no damage is made to it. If however a powerful blast from an opponent at least a tier higher than hers is made, then the duration of time the wall stands is limited to just an extra post after collision. And unfortunately against opponents two tiers higher, the wall collapses right away after stopping the attack. Since it works primarily on the amount of reishi she feeds it, Angel is unable to use her wall to stand up against truly powerful beings beyond her means (like those three tiers higher and above). Regardless of how the technique ends, once it does, Angel is unable to summon enough reishi to create it for two additional posts.
Holy Letter: By motioning her hands forth, the girl creates two rings around her hands which glow strongly before disappearing. The technique acts as a form of curse and pact she makes with herself. The technique plays heavily on the theme of pacts with a dark entity as well as benefit from a heavenly being. By using the technique, Angel places a seal somewhere on her body. The seal takes the form of a brand or tattoo of undisclosed aesthetic design. The location of the seal must be placed at the start of the technique, and once it has, it cannot be moved for the remainder of the fight. Essentially, the seal makes a very vulnerable area for Angel. Any light cut made to that spot would be as though she had been slashed hard and deep with an exceedingly sharp blade. Any attack or blow to that spot, regardless of weakness would be treated as so she had been hit with an overwhelmingly powerful blow. By extension, powerful blows would become even more difficult to sustain, and much more dangerous and painful.
To atone for the negative, Angel is able to draw a letter at random to inscribe somewhere on her body. The letter cannot be chosen, but its instead randomized from the english alphabet. Only one letter can be chosen per post. At any point, the girl is able to rearrange the available letters to form a word. She’s then able to imbue meaning into the word to create said effect to be used by her or her weapons. For instance, creating the word cut would enable Angel to attack and potentially cut the object she’s hitting, even if her weapon happened to be a blunt hammer. Likewise, creating the word haste would make her temporarily faster by a small margin. Given the randomness of the letters picked and the lengthy amount of time it takes to be able to potentially string anything useful, it's an ability Angel saves for battles. After all, despite the positive aspect of the technique, it leaves her rather vulnerable to attacks given the curse its placed on her.
Angel of Trickery: Closing her fist, reishi glows around it lightly as the technique takes place. Essentially, it is able to swap one attribute between incoming attacks. Using Angel’s attack as a basis it checks against an opponent’s attack for its effects. For instance, if an opponent and her are clashing swords, Angel could swap the strengths of the swing so she has his, and he has hers. Against energy blasts she’s able to swap either the speed or the power of her energy blast with that of her enemy. Only one attribute can be swapped, meaning that in the previous example, she wouldn’t be able to swap both. Also, the technique has no effects over attributes her attack do not possess. A powerful freezing energy attack could not have the freezing attribute swapped since Angel does not possess a freezing ability to begin with. Upon a successful use of the technique, the girl needs an extra two posts before enough reishi is amassed to recreate the technique.
Hakuda: The dolls in general are designed to have more than a basic understanding of the art. It’s inherent in their predesigned technology. However, Angel was shown to be able to use her unnatural strength as a means to supplement and enhance her skill in hand to hand combat. For the most part, her ability in close quarters combat is a result of her own learning and strange ability to pick up on skills rather quickly, as if she was remembering something already known as opposed to starting from scratch. Hakuda had always been an art that Crystal excelled in, being able to replicate most of the high powered and complex techniques of the art. Despite not knowing what her former self was capable of, Crystal nonetheless enjoys the ease and speed at which she learns and masters the art, as well as taking advantage of the great physical strength Crystal lacked. To add on, the training Tsubasa gave her before going off on his way did entail quite a heavy focus on Hakuda. After all, having been one of the more notable skills of Crystal, he seemed to want to ensure that the girl recollected enough skills of her former self, given that memories of her personal life and identity had seemingly been forgotten.

Enhanced Speed: The girl displays an unnatural speed that leads many to believe she’s as light as she’s nimble on her feet. For starters the Shinigami Doll’s body was created from the ground up to be the ideal balance between strength and speed. Despite the weight she carries, the Ginto Sphere technology from Sofia allowed Crystal and Tsubasa to condense the workings of the doll and minimize the impact the additions would have on her frame, and her overall speed. Beyond that, though unknown to her, Angel is able to exert herself and create such fast and speedy maneuvers that it’s possible for some to even see momentary after images. In addition, the girl is able to run either her kido or her reishi, or both, throughout her body at very minimal degrees with the purpose of triggering a response that enables her to maintain a very fast rhythm and rate of movement.
On top of that, Crystal made a very special request as both Tsubasa and her worked on the doll. Typically, the Shinigami Doll was able to achieve a form of transformation given depending on the unique skill built into them. Said transformation allowed them to reach new and greater heights of power as their ability was enhanced, prompting them to be able to fight at levels much greater than they previously could. However, Crystal wasn’t interested in that. She was powerful as a Shinigami, and while she had no doubt the being that would later come to be call Angel would also be quite powerful, she had different intentions. In the end, the scientist was more interested in pursues of the mind, and finding answers to the questions she had unanswered. As a bit of an experiment, she worked with Tsubasa to purposely make her doll unable of ever achieving a transformation or release state. By doing so, the doll would miss out on the enhanced abilities and battle potential they were awarded in each of the three powerful phases. Instead, the scientists sought to take advantage of the space left unused. Much like in a car, every piece or material takes up space. The technology and parts required to induce the transformation throughout those phases did too.
Using the available and unused space, the scientists tried to focus on one singular trait to enhance. As far as Angel, they had chosen to focus on her speed. By making use of the size specific technology made possible by Sofia, and Tsubasa’s own nanotechnology ability, they were able to condense the parts needed to achieve what they wanted. Essentially it consisted of a few nano power cores that projected energy into the doll to be converted into a force to be used as an acceleration or speed enhancement. Even with the space allotted, a couple of cores wouldn’t do much, and as such the rest was filled with nano power cells that functioned on a similar way to the cores, albeit to a much lesser degree. The nano power cells much like the cores did not really produce energy but rather supplied it. In order for those to be recharged, a bit of the reishi that was continuously absorbed by the being was diffused to it for that purpose. It is of relative importance to be noted that the speed increase Angel possesses is only because she gives up the great power, and the enhanced abilities she would have had accessed to in each of the transformation phases, but that is instead surrendered for it. While the speed increase cannot be compared to a true release bonus, it is nonetheless notable enough to be significant as it should be, given the extensive benefits that are given up because of it. And while she hasn’t truly noticed it outright, it looks as though Angel has an easier time than she ought to getting better or faster through extensive and intensive training.
Intellect: There is no question, at all, that genius and intellect abound in the girl. It is as much due to design as it is her birthright; even if she remains oblivious to the latter. Crystal was an exceptional and truly intuitive mind. From the start she was pulled back from joining a different squad and got placed under Mayuri during his tenure. Years later her work had become so renowned and respected that she was offered the position to lead the Research and Development division as the Captain, a true testament to her genius. During her time as Captain the girl created numerous projects and gadgets for the Shinigami that continuously tested her mind and challenged her reasoning and creative skills. She launched the Familiar project, a technology that, though which never quite took off, held a lot of potential. There was no question, that at very least by birthright, Angel possessed all the same potential to be as bright as her former self was. And while the concrete memory of her knowledge might have been forgotten, the fact remained she had the potential to access the same level or more of skill just as well.
To add on to it however, the doll was created with the most advanced of chipsets available, which worked in tandem using reishi, kido, and the energy of the soul the doll housed as a catalyst. It only required one of the aforementioned, but by using all means it created a steady and powerful supply to run with. In essence Angel was gifted with a wealth of information and rather vast resources to draw from. That combined with the intellect and great potential to learn, made her an extremely intelligent and quick thinking individual. Given the technology that had been built into her in addition to the level of genius Crystal already possessed made Angel much more intelligent and able than even her former self, the once Captain of the R&D. And even despite having different goals, and belonging to a different division to begin with, Angel has discovered that she’s fascinated by all kinds of technology and will likely pursue a bit of that in creative endeavors much like the being whose existence she’s foreign to once did.
Blind: For all intents and purposes, Angel is unable to see her surroundings through the use of her eyes. In her mind, the blindness was likely due to an error during her creation, as she was never told the truth. After all, every Shinigami Doll was carefully made to ensure it was just as expected. It wouldn’t make sense to her that she was purposely made blind. Little did she know however that it was the price she had to pay, in addition to losing memories and the identity that made Crystal who she was, in order to be successful in the transplant. Regardless, her eyes don’t look unappealing or unsightly on the slightest. She’s an artificial doll on the exterior after all. However she’s nonetheless unable to see through the use of her eyes.
Heightened Senses: In the aftermath of the experiment some things went wrong so others could go right. As the accident left Angel blind, it also conversely enhanced her sense of hearing and her reaction time. To try and compensate for the lack of sight, the workings on her body and the spiritual connection to the soul it housed itself managed to do what many living beings already do under similar circumstances. The girl possesses a very selective level of hearing that allows her to catch on to even the most subtle of sounds at the lowest of decibels while still leaving her relatively okay with sounds that are a bit louder than usual. As an additional function of her central technological chipset, Angel was given an integral function that worked as a form of very light sound wave.
The sound wave is so low on the decibel scale that is not able to be heard by most, and even if someone else could, it has no meaning and no real effect to anyone but herself. Instead, the sound wave resonates with other sounds farther away from Angel, allowing her to hear the very same sounds as they are bounced back to her as a form of echo carried by the sound wave she emitted. In essence it allows her to listen to conversations or sounds that happen to a maximum of one mile as if she was right next to them. Of course, there are some obvious problems to the technology and her ability. If there was simply a straight line of nothing with no one else speaking, listening in on someone would be extremely simple. However, when there are multiple amounts of people, and many sounds happening all at once, it becomes increasingly more troublesome to pinpoint the sound she wants to hear, and separate it from the rest. To do this she first has to hone in on the spiritual signal she wants to spy on, and use her skill to listen to the sounds or conversations originating from the source of their spiritual source.
Phantom Tech
- Spoiler:
- After giving her approval, Crystal had the chipset and technology within her phantom tech brain transplanted into the Shinigami Doll body she was to inhibit. There was simply way too many useful tools to aid her to simply toss it away. As such, the phantom tech carries along to Angel as shown below with the previously and currently approved abilities Crystal had on it.
Phantom Tech: As Captain of the Twelve Squad and Head of The Research Department and Technology, Crystal also possessed a PhantomTech Brain that was approved by her to be transplanted into her new body. Hers was a specially tailored by using the very latest top of the line design in addition to her own psychotic and systematic updates and changes. She believes it has become a nice addition to her utility arsenal as it provides her with simple things that make a lot of her tasks rather simple to say the least. It is not rare for Angel to occasional work and at least try to squeeze more potential out that piece of hardware. Through the intricate and specific design and the accessories she has added herself to some of her limbs, Crystal has been able to wire some of the benefits of the PhantomTech brain to aid some of the additions she has made to her own body.
Phantom Tech Abilities
Skeletal Enhancements: Crystal has enhanced certain parts of her body with prosthetic enhancements. These enhancements are made of a very strong yet extremely light material. The knee caps and their surrounding joints, the elbows, the wrists and the ankles, the feet and arms were enhanced with a special skeletal reinforcement. The hands also had the same skeletal reinforcement along with subcutaneous communications hardware. The hands were modified to allow Crystal to manipulate almost any type of mechanical and digital software and hack into practically any computer generated security program. Because of the skeletal reinforcement and their weight, Crystal experiences an exponential increase in strength. As for Angel, the benefit shows in an increasingly more durable and powerful physical construction of her body, further adding to her strength and durability.
Hacker: By visually scanning any form of technological device, Crystal, now Angel, can easily hack into any system with ease. The pictures are not tangible and thus cannot be shown but they are safely recorded on her brain to be able to share important information with her peers in case it was necessary.
Kyu's Master File: Crystal's lieutenant, Kyu, is a man whom she greatly admires. He has, time and time again proven his worth in combat, his dedication to the Twelve Squad and his work ethic. In fact, he has gone as far to become the one person Crystal, maybe...., cares the most for. Nevertheless, he has a secret which he does not want to come to light. Confiding on his Captain he willingly agreed to let her take possession of a file that would allow her to, if there was no other choice, control him momentarily to avoid something inevitable from happening. Knowing him well enough, she's positive she would never have to use it imagining she can get through him herself, but as it was his request, and she has great respect for him, she agreed. The file lies securely attached to her PhantomTech brain just like Kyu is almost always securing her whereabouts and her well being. As either an oversight or done purposefully, the file was transferred to Angel as well.
Phantom Tech Powers
Shields: Crystal can create one of two kinds of fields at any given time. She may create either an energy shield or a light particle field. The shield's volumetric effect extend out from within Crystal as it attempts to reduce the coherence of energy attacks and deflect physical objects. In hindsight, the shields behave like some form of thermally conductive material by diffusing energy applied in an instant, and re-radiated it back into the environment. Both block attacks, but each blocks very different and specific kinds of attacks. The shields also create an atmospheric speed boost of x2 within the confines of the shield. Such speed boosts lasts only as long as she is within the shields. It takes one hand to summon a shield so hypothetically, he could have both shields up at a time. Nevertheless the speed boost "does not" stack. The speed boost is merely another means to get away a bit faster while being shielded and it does not remain after the shield has receded. Because of their exact same look and feel in reiatsu, its difficult to differentiate between the two shields, even if after witnessing them in combat they found out their capabilities. Neither shield may be kept up for more than one posts as it needs to recede and resummoned if Crystal so wants it. By extension, Angel is able to use it as the chip as the technology belongs to her.
The energy shield is meant specifically for energy attacks. Although foreign objects like the enemy may pass through the shield, they will suffer damage very harsh electrical damage to their bodies when they come into contact with the shield, effectively forcing them off or allowing entrance at the cost of momentary numbness and lack of mobility. Light particle shield on the other hand are meant to deflect and protect from physical attacks and projectiles and solid tangible objects to keep them from entering and harming the user. Should the enemy touch the shield in any way, they would be stricken with unspeakable electrical damage that would burn their skin down to the subcutaneous area of the area affected.
Will of the Angel: This ability was a special request of Crystal granted for her status as Captain. Because of the vast knowledge of Soul Society and all the secret and confidential experiments that go on within the Twelve Squad she got a clear on this. An special modification to her phantomtech brain makes it so that it is practically impossible to succumb to any kind of ability that affects her senses, reasoning, her brain, or that would otherwise tamper with her knowledge, intellect, or reservoir of thoughts and psychological storage. It helps to keep the secret things secret and gives her an edge against psychological and sense-tampering abilities.
Virtual Manipulator: By motioning her hands forward, Crystal can create three hovering holographic light blue screens in front of her. By using the screens she may create a fair number of polygon figures that spin and hover all around her. Like program designer she can create a nearly endless amount of the polygon figures and reconfigure them to her will. These polygon figures are, initially, simply white objects with that feel like a very hard polymer to the touch. Through the screens, she can easily change their number, their size, their purpose and even their form and their sharpness. As all objects are made of the same materials she can easily fuse them and break them down to create anything and everything her mind can imagine and manipulate nearly everything about them to be used as a form of attack or defense or utility. The speed of travel of the objects are highly subjective to their size but typically, Angel can have them move no faster than Mach 8 regularly, and 10 if used after removing her blindfold limiter. Crystal can fuse them and break them apart to be of different sizes but their speed is correlated to their size with smaller objects no more than 3 feet in perimeter may travel at extremely fast speeds while large objects of about her size and even bigger would likely travel slower, typically 1 mach lower than otherwise. The texture can also be changed as she has complete dominion over them. Thus they can be made to be smooth, rough, and everything in between as it provides more options during combat and more help to tinker with her experiments outside of the battlefield. The qualities of each object and the collected fusing of a number of them are also dependent on her energy output. Slower, bigger and stronger attacks require more energy with weaker and faster attacks taxing a bit less. Though most objects will be gone once the battle has ended, she uses this ability outside of battle to create a mold of the material to later use as the basis of her many experiments.
