I. Basic Information
» Name: The One Within All
» Titles: Third From the Center/T.O.W.A./Towa/Earth
» Age: Roughly 32 hours/4.54 × 109 years
» Gender: Male/Genderless
» Affiliation/Rank: Rogue(Can we seriously not have it spelled “rouge” on the template, Last I knew there wasn’t a hidden Beautician Syndicate)
I. Personality Traits
» Personality:
Towa is an interesting individual to put it in the most basic and simple terminology available to human language. Towa’s existence is one of both immense knowledge and incredible ignorance and this dichotomy is one of the most immediately noticeable facets of what could only really be described as the creature’s “personality.”
Knowledge:
In part due to the nature of his existence and his abilities, Towa is a wildly knowledgeable individual, possessing a complete eidetic memory in addition years upon years of observing what goes on and around his sphere of influence. As a result, Towa is a veritable font of information regarding various races, their abilities, as well as key figures who had carved out a place amongst the annals of the history of Earth in addition to more mundane things such as mathematics, science, medicine, or whatever subject you’d be likely to encounter in a classroom.
Because of the nature of his existence, having subconsciously studied the assorted races in their forays across his surface, Towa effectively serves as a walking encyclopedia for those around him, if a bit of an insufferable one, and will frequently be able to break down situations and people with a frightening and often insulting speed and precision through a combination of natural intellect and his abilities. Which has a tendency to make him more than a little infuriating, but also rather potent as a tactician and strategist.
However, with this sense of intellect and knowledge base, Towa carries an all encompassing sense of arrogance and stubbornness. He is, routinely, convinced of his own intellect as, as far as he knows, nothing that exists could even begin to encroach upon his age and experience, at least not in what he considers his true form. This arrogance, while grating on an interpersonal level, does not seem to extend beyond it as Towa is very aware of the limitations of his form and will always avoid direct confrontation if possible as it would, invariably, end in disaster for the poor boy.
Ignorance:
While Towa has a genuinely frightening encyclopedic font of knowledge and theoretical applications to put to use, Towa was still, literally, born yesterday. Despite having billions upon billions of years of knowledge etched into his very being, knowledge is not the entirety of what comprises intelligence or, more importantly, wisdom. Towa has been, as of this moment, a sentient construct for all of 32 hours. As such, his cognizance and understanding is more akin to a book than a person. While Towa knows and understands many things on an academic level, there is no true substitute for experience and as a result, the entire world, himself, seems very much like a new phenomenon.
Consequently, Towa frequently does not fully understand why people act in the way they do or, more importantly and potentially disastrously, he does not always understand what exactly he knows. For example, Towa understands that certain snakes are venomous and he understands the reaction venom has within the body. Academically, he understands that when bitten by a venomous snake, a person could die. However the actual fear response inherent in every living thing, the genuine reaction to the fear of death as opposed to the sheer ones and zeros of the causality, are something that Towa has not yet grasped.
This inability to understand emotion is further exacerbated by his very nature and the nature of his abilities. As the Avatar of the Human World itself, Towa is frequently flooded with the emotions and thoughts of its denizens, with especially potent ones being capable of directly interfering with and influencing the emotional processes of his brain, directly causing Towa to feel something he does not fully understand, which has often lead to existential crises of their own, even in his rather short, fly-like lifespan thus far.
However, Towa does not, fundamentally, turn himself away from these experiences and the boy is captured with a rapt, but somewhat obscured curiosity for anything and everything. Towa, by his very nature, is designed to search out and take on new forms of emotional and physical torment and he is irrevocably drawn to the very concept, unable to prevent himself from searching out something that confuses him or haunts him, much to the chagrin of any unfortunate enough to accompany him.
I. Character History
» History
It is difficult to truly map out a history for a being that has both simultaneously “lived” for so very long and yet has only been alive for a handful of seemingly rather short hours. Instead, it’s best to simply explain exactly how such a being came to exist. There are multiple myths across multiple cultures that ascribe something like a “soul” to even the most mundane of objects. These myths are far reaching, extending from Japanese Mythology in the form of Tsukomogami to the Native American belief of spirits inhabiting tools and trees. It would be revealed over time, with the integration of Shinigami, Hollows, Demons, and all of their associated offshoots into the minds of the general public, that the beliefs may have been founded more in fact than in fiction. The idea of a soul, of a consciousness, was not a strictly or uniquely human trait. However, the scope in which people began to associate this truth was still too limited, reaching too far beyond their conventional understanding had always been a shortcoming of sentient life. Why did they all assume that such formations of souls and consciousness was unique to small objects like swords, spears, or air conditioning systems when they stood on the very thing most likely to generate a “soul.”
The Earth itself obtained sentience, as burgeoning as it is, around the time when Shinigami and Hollows first began proliferating into the Realm of Earth, carrying with them the strange and terrifying power known as reiatsu. This triggered the catalyst for the growth of the very world they inhabited. As the years cycled through, The World became more and more conscious of both itself and what was happening within it. It would witness countless accomplishments of its denizens, it would watch as they loved and it would grow ever more and more proud. However, the more pride there was, the more love there was, the harder the fall would be. It watched as the creatures born of itself would commit atrocity after atrocity upon each other, completely destroying any semblance of love and pride that the Earth could muster and then, when the dust settled, the burgeoning love and pride would emerge again as the human tried to put themselves back together again. Then, they would repeat the cycle and as a result, ravage the planet once again, all the while constantly pillaging and pilfering the very world that provided for them.
Then, the others came in force. The beings not of the World. As horrible as the atrocities the humans would create on their own and their offenses to the Earth were, nothing could compare to the sheer monstrosity that came when the humans no longer ruled the planet alone. The scars etched into the very world grew more and more severe as the relatively strength level of the inhabitants grew more and more. The monsters carved damage into the world that could never have even been broached before, wiping out whole populations in a fortnight, destroying whole continents worth of life with but a thought and completely ravaging the very world as they knew it. As the trauma grew and grew, the Earth did a very, very human thing. It split itself.
The practice of separating, cordoning off, and segregating alternative “personalities” as a means to deal with trauma and atrocity had been a rather well documented phenomena for quite a time and had grown ever more present as time went on and people decided to make things regarding the condition without actually fully understanding it because for some reason they thought it was “cool,” but even without such a complicated notion, humans have always carried masks of themselves, portions in which they display to the public to hide those wounds and the scars they form. When it became too much to bear, when the misgivings of its denizens became too much to stomach...the Earth created a mask, the Earth created Towa.
The Earth, finally unable to cope with the deeds of those upon its surface, coalesced all of the negative energy, all of the abuse, the theft, the injuries upon its soul and formed it in to one being, one mask with which to take on all of the Earth’s suffering. Molding it in the shape it was most familiar with subconsciously, the world formed Towa in the form of a human, and thus the Avatar of the Earth was “born.”
Towa was formed as the perfect caricature of the treatment the realm of Earth had endured since its creation. His very being gives life and power to those who are willing to take it from him and, like the Earth, Towa is often completely powerless against it outside the veritable font of knowledge given to it via its predecessors effective sense of omniscience. It was with that gift that Towa is, seemingly programmed, to seek out the suffering etched in to the very fabric of the planet Earth and absorb it in to himself in a likely fruitless attempt to properly purify the world inhabited by monsters, both human and otherwise. And thus, born into the world, Towa set off in an attempt to fulfill his mission.
I. Equipment
I. Natural Abilities & Skills
I. Other Supernatural Abilities
» Pure Abilities:
»»The Pillaged and the Plundered:
Towa is, quite literally, but a fragment of himself. As the combined, coalesced essence of horrors and atrocities afflicted the realm of Earth, Towa is comprised of most of the negative ramifications and consequences of those horrors. As a result, by the standards of the realm, Towas is a remarkably powerless individual. Stripped of his integrity and power by the greed and misgivings of others, Towa is barely more physically able than the average human being.
Towas parameters are not and will never able to be grown beyond the beginner level, his level of spiritual pressure and energy will never be able to exceed 5-5 and outside of the specific abilities Towa has in relation to his origin and circumstance, he will never be able to use Reishi or any associable abilities including but not limited to physically augmenting himself or generating and manipulating Reishi in any form. As such, strictly from a “power” standpoint, Towa is completely incapable of growth. The fact that he “is” is an immutable fact and what he can or could be is unable to influence what is. As a result, for all intents and purposes Towa is completely defenseless if forced into an altercation on his own.
While this typically and quite rightly is seen as a weakness, it does afford Towa one rather peculiar ability. Towa is nigh impossible to inflict lasting damage on. As the Earth is consistently tortured and tormented under the weight and machinations of its occupants, Towa too is able to withstand an absolutely remarkable amount of damage as he, immutably, “is” as a construct. Regardless of what physical changes happen to Towa’s body, he will always default back to the factory standard. Cut off a limb, a few minutes later it will regrow as if it were never relieved of him. Cutting off his very head would do little to permanently, physically scar him.
As potent as this nigh immortality is, Towa is of course made from something and certain things can seriously wound him. As a cast off fragment of the Realm of Earth given sentience, Towa is still intrinsically bound to that Realm. Severe and widespread damage to the Earth on a physical or spiritual level will causes severe injuries to afflict him, ones that may prove impossible to revert and should the Earth itself be destroyed, Towa will go along with it. In addition, while his physical body is very difficult to cause any lasting damage to, the boy is not immune to pain or injury and is, in fact, more susceptible to it than most others that live in the world. As such, especially with his empathetic powers, Towa is very susceptible to psychological and mental abuse, completely unable to muster any defense against such things.
»»Earth’s Bounty:
As the physical and sentient avatar of the Realm of Earth cast off to protect itself, Towa possesses certain anatomical difference from humans to reflect his unusual “birth” Towa represents not only the negative and destructive acts inflicted upon the Earth, but also the benefits that were gained from forcibly ripping the bounty of the Earth. This relationship between the Earth and its denizens is once again mirrored in Towa himself.
Towa’s genetic material, most typically utilized in the form of saliva, blood, or other fluids but could also extend to hair, skin, etc depending on how willing someone is to ingest a toenail, is a remarkably, borderline ridiculous stimulant. Towa has no control over this ability whatsoever and is, again, just an immutable fact of his composition. He cannot control who or what benefits or is affected by this ability and is entirely upon those that interact with Towa to utilize. When introduced into the body(Towa obviously being immune to his own effect) will find themselves afflicted with euphoria, bursts of energy that replenish stamina and, most profoundly, dramatic increases to their spiritual abilities. The potency of the “high” caused by ingesting Towa’s DNA is variable based on multiple factors, such as route of administration, form genetic material administered and the quantity administered. These strengths range, generally, from a small lick of saliva absorbed transdermally to someone injecting a liter of Towa’s blood straight to their heart. In general, similar to medical dosage, the quicker Towa’s power inducing material enters the bloodstream, the quicker it begins to affect the subject and the more that survives the journey to said blood stream, the more potent the effect.
On the lower end of the spectrum, absorbing Towa’s genetic material will cause euphoria, flushed skin, bursts of energy, an a tier boost of a few minor tiers ( 3-5 to 3-3). These effects go up substantially as the immensity of the consumption goes up. For instance, drinking Towa’s blood would cause the consumer to shoot up one major tier (2-1 to 1-1) as well as allowing them to boost a parameter up one stage. Should Towa’s blood be injected straight into the user’s bloodstream, these effects are dramatically increased, causing the consumer to be boosted up two major tiers (2-1 to 0-5) and will have every parameter boosted by one stage and, for a short time, can even show limited mimicry of Towa’s regenerative capabilities up to regrowing limbs, though the shock of such a loss will make the “hangover” nigh impossible to overcome quickly or possibly at all depending on the strength of the offended party.
Should the consumer be in the range of 0-5 to 0-3, a major tier is considered equivalent to a minor tier upgrade for the purposes of this power (I.E. 1 major tier level would be 0-5 to 0-4) and after 0-3, major tier increases are measured by + scores (I.E. 2 major tier levels would be 0-3 to 0-3++)
However, this ability does not come without risks of its own. Most bodies are not physically capable of handling the vast surge of power that, especially the more direct methods, can be gained from this ability and frequently after the effects of the Earth’s Bounty fade, the consumer will suffer severe lethargy and discomfort as their body attempts to re-establish an equilibrium. These effects can only be negated through consuming more of Towa’s genetic material, but will dramatically increase the effects of the “hangover” symptoms after consumption. In combat situations, the rush that Towa’s genetic material offers will only last four posts before the “hangover” symptoms begin to set in and the power boosts wane.
In addition, as with anything that so dramatically augments a person on a chemical level, the Earth’s Bounty runs the risk of causing addiction in its consumers both through biological and psychosomatic dependency. As more and more of Towa’s genetic material is consumed, the consumer will steadily begin to develop habits akin to that of a heroin addict up to and including needing a weekly supply of Towa’s genetic material.
In this case however, addiction does have some advantages. Upon fully becoming dependent upon Towa’s genetic material, the consumer’s experience with the “high” states becomes more profound and easier to control, allowing them much more control and endurance in their elevated state, effectively allowing the addict to maintain the “high” for upwards of 12 posts before needing to once again consume the Earth’s Bounty for the benefits.
»»Empathetic Omniscience:
Despite the catchy name of the ability, Towa is not in any way truly omniscient and is instead more of a way to designate the wide reaching sensory capabilities that Towa has within his sphere of influence, I.E. Earth.
Like his other abilities, Towa has absolutely no control over this ability whatsoever and unlike Earth’s Bounty, this one rarely results in someone suckling on Towa in any way whatsoever. As an avatar of the Earth’s pain and abuse given sentience, Towa still retains a strong connection to that sphere and as such is still connected, in some small way, to everything that happens on the Earth that is profound and impactful in some way. This ability does not extend to facts or details regarding events that have occurred and is strictly relegated to reading and feeling the emotional impact an occurrence has imparted unto the Earth. For instance, if Joe murdered Bill in an alley because he told him his mother smelled like the underside of a Long John Silver’s dumpster, Towa would not know that someone named Joe, someone named Bill, or that someone’s mother smelled like a seventeen day old fish hobo, but he would be able to feel that someone was greatly insulted and that murder and pain were etched into the very fabric of the world.
In addition, this ability will, frequently, absorb those emotions in to Towa as he acts as the de facto tragedy dump for the Earth itself, often overwhelming his increasingly fragile psyche in the process and it is with this ability that Towa performs the duty that he was created for. As the form the Earth has chosen with which to shed its negative energy, it is Towa’s duty, using this ability, to vacuum up the planet’s sorrow and take it in upon himself. As such, even when around individual humans, much less global disasters, Towa will frequently find himself bombarded by both positive and negative emotions of others as his composition inherently attempts to absorb this. While people are typically such complicated creatures, they will never notice this pull on their emotions, but they will typically profoundly affect Towa, making someone who knows and understands the strange abilities the boy possesses find themselves with the tools needed to manipulate Towa, simply by feeling strongly about something.

But, beyond all of that, there is the simple matter that this concept is, frankly, a rather momentous reveal for the setting overall, that the planet itself is a sentient being. I cannot in good faith allow something so potentially massive to be handled in such a quickly done app. This will require a great deal more expansion upon, beyond the specific reworking I requested, if I am to approve it.[/mod]
There's nothing even in particular about this that I need to point out. I just cannot approve this ability at all as it currently exists. "I cannot die so long as the planet lives" is just too much.»»The Pillaged and the Plundered:
This, too, is simply too powerful at the higher end. 2 major tiers of growth, even temporarily, is far too high a jump for a character to be able to provide.»»Earth’s Bounty:
Firstly, I can't quite grasp what this ability actually does other than let the character sense any strongly held emotions that have been in an area. There is also the matter of no one ever noticing this, which I just can't approve. That would need something related to Mental Deduction or Willpower as a method of detection.»»Empathetic Omniscience: ...they will never notice this pull on their emotions...

1.) This is a 5-5 character that outright cannot fight. I have no qualms with limiting his regeneration as it was at that degree for thematic purposes but this is a character who is quite literally worthless on his own. I could exchange this with "super regeneration" akin to multiple characters on the site and it would function exactly the same. If that's what you'd like me to do, sure but it feels a considerably odd gripe considering these powers are easily mimicked by characters who don't come close to the drawbacks this one carries.
2.) As described, the levels of the increase at higher tiers is dramatically reduced to the point that a "major tier" equates to a plus, the disparity between an 0-2 and an 0-2+ is about the same as it would be at lower levels for a whole tier. So I'm not sure I understand the concern here. If it's strictly being able to eat part of Towa and ascend to 0-1 even if for a short time, I can limit it for the excessively high tiers, but there are multiple self-power boosts that don't require you to forcibly take something from another PC that accomplish similar results outside of that addendum.
3.) Please expand on what you mean, the ability is literally a plot point to faciliate his third party understanding of human emotions as well as a plot point to absorb these imaginary "sore spots" to the planet as well as a minor form of detection that could be easily circumvented by anyone who can control their emotions
4.) I could add another 10k words of pointless flavor text depicting the planet growing up and then push these sentient thoughts onto this avatar...but that's what it'd be. The fact that the planet is semi-cognizant/sentient is not more groundbreaking than other already integrated characters such as rewriting the canon by Nozomi being the first quincy or demons being the grounding force for multiple religions over the course of human history, it's actually less of a revolutionary concept as those characters actually interact and influence the cource of IC actions. This revelation literally changes nothing about the world on an actual IC interaction or plot level as the Earth itself isn't going to interact with Towa at all outside of Towa sucking up the "sore spots" and that's barely more interaction that the Earth has with anything else that walks on it. So as far as ground breaking revolutions are concerned, this is really mild.
