Who's Stalking Who? [Ava/Adam]
Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:30 am
Good god it was fucking hot.
Ava was tangling herself up in the umbrella-like branches of the tree, trying to get out of the sun as much as possible. Why the hell did they have to go to such a hot place? No, better question, why did she go off on her own for training? The whole place was full of plains, not very many places to hide or be stealthy, god damn. Only thing she could use as a hiding space were these stupid trees, but whatever asshole made this existence decided to make the damn thing hard to climb and even harder to squeeze into where was much cooler.
Thank god she was wearing thin clothing, consisting of rather short black pants and a tank top, but both articles of clothing were soaked with sweat. She couldn't even tell where she was anymore, which only lead to further frustration, along with shadowy hands breaching her neck area ever so often, letting out angered cries while thrashing around, being suppressed by her putting a hand over their origin point.
No need to let her inner hell loose now, was quite a terrible time for it.
She downed her second bottle of water, the dry climate making her very damn thirsty every 10 minutes, at least thats how much it felt. She sighed, letting out a gentle fit of coughing, lying amongst the tangled branches and leaves pressing into her body, and just giving herself a moment to think. That moment was assaulted with bounding off the walls crazy angry internal dialogue, several voices shouting about different things; Ulv, Mother, Junie, how hot it was, this Tsubasa guy, all sorts of shit catapulting themselves around in her skull without a care in the world.
"Alright that's enough deep thinking..." She mumbled, forcing herself to the top of the leaves and stupid branches. Needed a vantage point to getting back to civilized society, especially before the sun sets.
Trees, plains... A barking sound caught her attention, though. Her eyes floating down to see a small brown shape in the bush; looked like some sort of fox.
"Foodfoodfooditsfoodyouseeitsfoodfood.."
"I know I know, shut it." She clasped the back of her neck quite aggressively, quickly silencing the hands beginning to emerge. Her tools were below, however, since they wouldnt fit through the damn branches. She slowly slipped down through the maze-like flora, keeping her eyes on the fox who had stopped to probably eat, or take a shit, she didn't care; she was hungry.
She carefully slid down the trunk, using a knife to control her speed as she did before. Finally with her feet on the ground, she slowly reached for her bow and quiver, watching the fox as she readied an arrow, controlling her breathing and steadying her drawback as to not make the straining noise of the string being pulled too obvious.
She slowly advanced forward, each step carefully planned after the next, her eyes clearly saying to any that she was completely focused, cold, they screamed predator...
Close... So close... Just had to get into the right position so she'd kill it instead of injuring it and giving it a chance to run off...

SIMPLY HUMAN
Ah~ The forest of Yemen. Hot, humid and filled with nothing about grassland and wildlife. The perfect place to get away from it all, get lost in yourself and begin to learn more about the nature of the human mind and body. As within this remote setting were a group of humans who were beginning to make a name for themselves. Eden's Evolution were the name they went by and they were searching high and low for those who were open to the idea of progressing the evolution of man's body, mind, soul and ability to thrive in a world and become the masters of their domain against the constant sea of mythical gods they faced against.
Therefore, it made all the sense in the world that our wonderful little terrorist Adam had found himself wandering around these scorching out pastures in the pursuit of getting more people to align themselves with this greater vision. Though, our brown-haired, red-eyed boy wonder certainly looked pretty cool on this burning hot summer day. A short sleeved emerald green shirt, oak brown khaki shorts and a pair of white tennis shoes were all the male needed to feel right at home. He kept it simple since people who got anywhere in life didn't waste too much brainpower worrying about what clothes they needed to wear.
Which is why his wandering mind, not distracted by useless thoughts, soon picked up on the sight of what appeared to be a sweaty, homeless and starving girl wandering these woodlands and about to pick a fight with a mangy fox. It was certainly a sight to behold, but the blood-eyed recruiter wasn't put off from it. To him? She just seemed like another fellow sister of humanity who needed to be shown the way. So, with a nonchalant shrug, Adam wasted no time coming up behind her, dropping a piece of a chocolate bar in her hand and uttering these words in her ear:
"You know, there are better ways to get food in your tummy then killing a disease ridden fox. What are you, a weirdo?"
Of course, his voice was filled with playful banter as he didn't seem too offended by her actions. Man slaughtered both himself and animals alike for either the pursuit of evolution, safety or pleasure. Who was he to tell her not to do what was right to nourish herself?
"I kidd~ I'm more concerned about why you are out here in the middle of nowhere starving to death, stranger. What's your story?"
With the ball now tossed in Ava's court, there had to be some kind of backstory was as to why this gal was out here acting like Bear Grylls in Survivorman trying to brave the wilderness on her own. So, he was going to wait, find out and figure out what her goal and aim is.....

Of course Ava was completely unaware of the presence that was approaching behind her, of course until the crunching of grass and shifting of the earth alerted the fox, which lifted it's head from the grass and immediately took off into the underbrush. The girl tensed, quickly loosing an arrow, only for it to ultimately miss.
"Damn it." She cussed, throwing her bow down and growling. What was completely unexpected was the sensation of something being put into her hand without her conscious consent. Fear spiked in her chest, her drawing a knife and turning around, facing the male and having clearly been ready to stab his daylights out if she didn't see he wasn't trying to attack her. She stopped before the blade got close to his flesh, sighing and pocketing the knife. The shadowy hands attempted to form once more, hissing into her ear,
"Himhimhedidithescaredoffthefoodhimhimhim.."
"Shut it." She mumbled, putting a free hand to the back of her neck once more to suppress the angered shadowy hands, "It's a thing called hunting, and i'm hungry."
She looked mildly irritated that this boy had chased off her prey, wiping away sweat from her drenched forehead. She didn't quite want to entertain his desire to talk, but she expected that he'd likely follow her around and scare off more edible creatures until she spoke to him, so it'd be better to just satisfy his curiosity and just be done, yes?
"Not starving to death, just hungry and hot. I came out here for stealth training, but as you can see," She gestured to the open expanse, hardly having any trees, and even the trees were terrible for hiding in, "Not many places to practice stealth. Now if you excuse me, i'd like to get back to civilization before the sun sets and it gets horribly cold."
She began walking off, though opened the hand that contained the chocolate, seeing it had melted a bit on her palm. She narrowed her eyes, licking the messy sweet off her hand as she looked for a better vantage point to find her way back.

SIMPLY HUMAN
Poor thing was lost, hungry, confused, smelly, dirty, hopeless, powerless and totally at the mercy of the world. It made the inner soul within Adam weep with pity to see such a mongrel wandering the wilderness on her own. No, no, no, no! This wouldn't do! NOT ONE BIT! The inner mind within our loving terrorist's heart knew that she could not be left alone. So, to prevent her, and more adorable wildfire, from d ying; our oak-haired lad knew what must be done in order to take this precious human being before from the darkness of ignorance and into the lgiht of evolution.
"I love your power. I can smell it trying to rip me to pieces. Why don't you take you and your hungry self with me to somewhere that you can actually get a stable meal, a roof over your hood and some direction? As you look mighty lost to me."
And -- that was honest! Why leave a poor girl like this to fend for herself in the wild? Oh no~! The motherly instincts of Eve which were brimming with humanity's gentle compassion, care and love for each other in order to help use these motives to bring Ava out of her pit of loneliness! OH THE HUMANITY!
"Besides, wouldn't you like to actually be able to learn more about what you can do with yourself? I run a small faction of humans who are trying to improve the scope of our evolution on this planet. And, to save you the dramatic story, I feel our teachings can help you out if you gave it a chance."
Then, with a firm hand placed on her shoulder, Adam made sure to give her something to consider before just wandering off into the woods to get herself killed.
"Don't you want to become more powerful then this?"

Ava only continued to walk to find a vantage point, not quite fast enough for her to completely vanish into the impending darkness and rolling hills, but she was pretty damn close, despite this strange man's wishes for her to come along with him. Even if she wasn't as abrasive and outwardly antisocial as before, the green haired lass was still more inclined to keep things inside and just go on her way than trust a complete stranger.
His offer however, slowed her into a crawl, in terms of walk speed. She looked at her feet, soon stopping as she sat on that thought. Why would he offer something like that? He met her only a few minutes ago; sounds a bit risky to try to welcome a completely random person into such a thing. She was soon touched by him, which her subconsciousness did not take too kindly to, but she felt cold when those words crawled into her mind:
"Don't you want to become more powerful than this?"
The gears in her brain instantly started turning as she remembered several things; the immense amount of torture she was put through that was horrid enough to make her forget what pain itself was, Juniper's crying face as she was put to death as she was forced to watch, and Mother, just... Mother.
Her fist tightened, her teeth grinding, as the shadowy hands emerged from the forest of her locks, one gently stroking her face as the rest stared at Adam, dead silent for once.
"..Alright. What do you want me to do?"

SIMPLY HUMAN
"All you need to do is come with me. Don't worry, I won't murder ya~"
Cheery as ever, the male gave a wink of the eye at the leery woman as he did intermix some truths into his words. After all, if he wanted to kill her, catching the woman by surprise could have done that trick easily enough. Instead, he was more focused on just getting her to follow him. So, to take charge, he held her hand and began guiding her through the dirt, trees, and forestland to march through this green abyss and reach out the other side toward what appeared to be a large opening toward a cave.
"You see that cave in here? It's where Eden's Evolution rests!"
Despite it being dark from where they were approaching, the lights within the cavern were bright and filled with many different humans surrounding the rocky entrance. As one would begin to walk past the guards, get clearance and descend into the underground base; there would be rows of metallic floors which then gave way to a series of rooms. Some of these were resting areas, meditation centers, restrooms and other amenities that humans needed to be comfortable. More importantly, Adam was more focused on taking her toward the place she wanted to be: The Kitchen.
The mess hall was filled with hundreds of operatives, dozens of different food trays and had almost every type of food imaginable. All Ava had to do was wish it and he'd make her dreams come true. Which is why he'd pull her down, come to a stop a table and sit so they could chat, pick something decent to scoff down and talk about why she is here. So, since he was doubtful she'd stop him now, Adam just rolled his wrist, snickered and had a holographic menu item appear. That way she could pick her food, teleport it here and start woofing it down.
"Go on, pick something to eat. I dragged you this far~ Once you find something you like, I'll start telling you more about this place."
Bop. Beep. Bop.
In Adam's case, even while he was talking, the male already knew what he wanted and had a tray of strawberry cupcakes appear on a large plate. There were probably two dozen of them, but he feels he earned it with his kill average this week. He needed to take his mind off the blood on his hand, down it in sweets and start the path towards becoming a diabetic! So one, two, three, four and five cupcakes were being assaulted by the man's mouth before he remembered something: he needed her evolution information! Right, right, right!
"Ohhhhhh~! And before you go, you should tell me: what do you want to evolve about yourself?"
After forcing his sweets down, Adam fixed his crimson gaze on Ava and waited to hear what the woman might say to him.....

"Sure, totally reassuring.."
She was completely unsure about this man, who had grasped her hand and pulled her along. This man both set off alarm bells in her head, and turned them off at the same time. She could sense murderous intent from a mile away, this guy had... Something like that, maybe? She couldn't tell; trying to figure him out was a difficult activity. He acted... Way too sweet. None of her clients, victims, or even miss assassin herself had this much of a capacity for happiness. He didn't quite hit the notes for a horrible person, but she couldn't help but be a little wary of him..
And then they arrived. At... A hole. More precisely a cave. Confusion instantly hit Ava's thoughts. She was all the more tempted to think this was just some gigantic prank or something and the man grasping her hand was more immature than she thought, but she didn't want to toss away the opportunity for vengeance, provided there being a small chance it still exists.
Eden's Evolution, huh?
Eerily reminded her of something, taking a brief glance at her legs but shook it off. Definitely a coincidence; the idiots that were after her wouldn't be so up front.
She followed him inside, keeping her composure calm and composed as she saw everything suddenly brighten as they crossed in, surprised to see a bunch of people around. So... Wasn't lying. Isn't a plain cave in the slightest. She was further surprised with all the domestication put into a cavern, looking around all the rooms as Adam had lead her to the quite busy eating area.
Some tugs of anxiety made her feel uncomfortable with the sheer volume of people, but she took a deep breath, coming with him to a table, keeping her face cool and expressionless despite the few things she allowed to flow under the surface. She looked surprised with the holographic menu popping up, her looking among the options, though saw him pop in a startling amount of cupcakes, all of the same variety of... She guessed strawberry for now.
She looked through the menu, silently disturbed at how quickly he was consuming the sweet masses of cooked flour slathered with even more sweetness. She was one for sweets, but that was a slightly disturbing degree of a love for sugar.
She sighed, tapping on something rather basic; a hamburger with some fries, along with a drink. Seeing the basic set up of food pop up in front of her, she picked up a fry, observing it for a minute before putting it into her mouth, though the male had another question for her; about what she wished to evolve.
"..Evolve?" She had no idea what he meant by it, but took a moment to think on it, "Mmm... I mean, I did say I wanted to be stronger, but I wouldn't think that's specific enough... Hmm." She gently tapped her bottom lip, before seeming to come up with something, "I'd say... Having more control, to be able to protect the ones I love with more control... Something along those lines, I think."
