The Rebel Unabara
Coding Altered From: [The Frost]
Shinsui's journey among humans to grow and develop himself began. He studied this area just frankly impressed by the grand scale of it all. This was an amazing thing to see built in this place. It gave him a hope in his chest that this place could be something more. It didn't feel like it was just added on. The Vanguard was around here somewhere, people who devoted themselves to protecting. Shinsui could respect that, he'd been studying the sword to give hope to the Unabara. Hope was something they were lacking currently. His brother turned traitor for some reason involving the dirty old bastard. Shinsui couldn't put his finger on it, but something about the situation read that way. His planning had been fruitful and he did promise to return with his mother. Shinsui didn't lie or break his word to anyone. Even though he was weak he gave everything a tremendous amount of thought. Shinsui didn't claim to be strong or the best among his peers. He was but someone making his journey somewhere new. Trying to find his way to someplace.
A place lingered beyond the Sun of his father's vision. Shinsui didn't know if he'd be ready to go to war. No war wasn't his purpose it was to surpass his father. But what lingered beyond that in the end? He needed to do more than just surpass that man and look elsewhere. What would make him different from those around him? Shinsui couldn't become like Tetsuya who had all that power. But he lost his resolve and the purpose right in front of him. He found a bench and sat down taking in the sights and sounds. This world was amazing and he saw laughter and smiles around him. These people were happy, truly and honestly happy. What was it that they had here? Safety perhaps was part of it among other things. Could bring such a happiness to the Unabara clan and children?
Give them the freedom to be what they wanted. He was the Clan Head now, at least when he returned he was. His father stepped down to give them something. A chance perhaps with the Gotei to rebuild the faith.
He'd have to accept that journey someday in the future. But for right now he needed to find what was missing. He needed this journey to find what he truly needed. The journey is more important than the destination. He knew that inside, but what was it they had here? Could it be replicated by him for a family? Did everywhere have smiles such as these and happy people? Or was it differently based on the regions and locations? Shinsui wasn't sure in the truth of the situation or the score going on. This wasn't a matter that could be simply acknowledged or forgotten easily. He wanted to know what strength really was, what did that mean? Being strong did it mean to be truly strong before the wrath of God? So many questions to answer and only one way to accomplish them. Shinsui could only swallow it down and take what he found thus far. This was a journey of discovery of more than just his path. More then just that was on the line for the young Unabara. He wanted to discover what was missing from his family most of all.

ENTER KAI LAM'S POST
Though his position in the Vanguard as Warden of the North West meant he was responsible for the goings-on of the correlating hemisphere, it wasn't out of the ordinary for him to be elsewhere. In fact, due to the heavy presence of both Shadowfall and the Monsuta in his hemisphere, a significant portion of his responsibilities kept him in other regions. Between traveling the world and going from battle to battle, base to base, and meeting to meeting, Kai found himself with very little free time. One of the many activities that had been taking up Kai's free time was one of both teaching and learning. Every week he would dedicate at least a few hours to recruiting and teaching in Karakura's Imaginary District. The last thing he wished to happen was for him to become too busy for such a basic activity, so he made sure his schedule was built around it. An added bonus was he regularly learned just as much as he taught, specifically about interesting people and their backgrounds, which he felt was especially important as someone who believed firmly in defending all peoples.
Much of his teaching involved educating potential recruits on the Vanguard, its mission statement, and what being a part of the organization meant for them and the world at large. To this end he would his own experiences, describing the various large scale battles he had fought in. However, Kai made sure to include discussions on the day to day activity of Vanguard members. One duty he felt it necessary to emphasize was the adherence and dedication to small victories and acts of kindness. Helping someone cross the road impacts their live in a positive way. "Not every good deed has to be life or death. Sometimes, just improving a person's day or putting a smile on their face is all it takes to stay true to Vanguard's mission." However, knowing potential recruits were far more interested in the glory of battle and fighting in war meant Kai discussed both extensively.
At the end of a pretty standard lecture, Kai spent a few minutes going through various messages and memos he'd received throughout the day. Afterwards, he gathered his things in an modest black suitcase and left the building at a rather relaxed pace. Nothing dire had grabbed his attention so Kai figured he could take his time and enjoy the sunny, warm day. As he traversed the busy streets of Imaginary Karakura, one man in particular caught his eye. Though elsewhere his getup may seem a bit abnormal, here he fit right in with all the other strangely dressed individuals flitting from building to building. What drew Kai's attention was his demeanor. Sitting on a bench and looking back and forth, taking in everything from the people to buildings to sky, painted the picture of a man new to the District. For this reason Kai approached him and, with a great big smile on his face, reached out for a handshake and greeted the man. "Hi, my name's Kai. First time in Imaginary Karakura?"
