II. Personality Traits

» Personality:

Narcissistic - The one thing that Ida will never shut up about is herself. She personally thinks that the most beautiful woman in the world is her, and thus doesn’t really care what other people would say about her image. While most tend to confuse this trait for confidence, it’s more of a step higher than confidence. There are times when Ida will set aside an hour or two just to stare and admire herself, showering herself in compliments and treating herself like an idol. The whole world revolves around her.

Rebellious - Overall, Ida’s point of view on life is very antagonistic. Whatever is the given norm in society or is required of her, she denies. If the law is against murder, you can find Ida doing some assassination jobs. If society requires her to act a certain way or do a certain task, you can sure as hell bet that she’s not going to do it. This point of view also changes depending on the area she is in at the moment.

Free Spirited - This ties into her previous trait, Rebellious, but Ida hates to be tied down to anything, whether it be an organization, responsibility, or family. Ida likes to be associated with Ida, not with said organization or for doing this said job or something common like that. She likes to stand out in the crowd while also being able to do her own thing without being stressed out by others.

Retro - More of a quirk than an actual trait, Ida’s sense of style and music normally gravitate towards times from long ago. Whether it be from 500 years ago to 30 years ago, Ida just sees something great in older things that the present doesn’t have.

Introverted - Personally, Ida finds interacting with others unnecessary and exhausting. Due to this trait, she tends to only ever speak to someone once every few weeks before going back to secluding herself. Because of this, most of her friends don’t really care for her as much as they could is she was around more often, but she enjoys being by herself and doing her own thing without having to worry about others.

Calm & Boring- With Ida, there’s always a dull moment. This is because she just isn’t a very exciting person to be around or try to entice to get out of her comfort zone. There’s very few things that can really motivate or entice her to doing something to impress anyone or give her an adrenaline rush.

III. Character History

» History To really understand where Ida is from, you'd have to go back to the beginning. The beginning of the Quincy--well, not that far, skip ahead about 100 years or so-- where the Kanzuki clan came into power. They were one of the first big families to really unlock the power to manipulate reishi and unlock their Quincy power. This wasn't where Ida was from, but we'll get to that in a second.

Ida was actually born in a backwater city in Denmark. Granted she was only in her original home for only 4 years of her life, she hated every year. Both of her parents were druggies willing to do anything to get high. And while they were sane enough to not sell their daughter off for some drugs, the frustration of not being able to do that would constantly push them over the edge and drive to some form of abuse, physical, sexual, or mental. And while their forms of abuse were somewhat mild compared to other cases, it was still abuse. Around her fourth birthday Ida started to show signs of controlling Reishi, and large amounts of it too, so it wasn't long for the Kanzuki to stop by and take her from her family.

This kidnapping also included an optional memory wipe, completely erasing any and all past events, including her original parents. Though when they were giving her the option, she didn't hesitate to accept. That was also how she adopted the name Kanzuki though seeming to not show any Japanese decent as the family is based in Japan. Along with this memory wipe came a full crash course on life, needing Ida to relearn a language, Japanese in this case, relearn how to crawl and then walk, and finally she learned how to harness her Quincy talents. To this day, she wonders about those missing 4 years.

During her early stages of development, it was learned that Ida wasn't a full blooded Quincy, her powers only came from her father's side. Being the people that they are, the Kanzuki didn't care much for how she got her powers, but more on how she used them. Thus, when the one thing that Ida had ever asked for from them, which was a guitar, they rushed to get it for her. This guitar was the start of a road that Ida would be traveling forever.

Music jut seemed to come naturally to her. She only had very minimal lessons on the guitar but somehow mastered it by the age of 12. Combining her love for music and her abilities to alter reishi, eventually she discovered her ability The Bard.

V. Natural Abilities & Skills

» Skills:

GUTS - An ancient trait that is passed down through genetics, though the original beings that had this trait are said to be now extinct. In the past, those with this trait were much more common and many seemed to have this trait, though due to it’s dangerous tolls on the human body, humans slowly evolved to combat it until it became rare and only possible through a genetic mutation.

The first sign of the trait is in the person’s appearance; those with GUTS have very colorful hair, seemingly unnatural to pair with their also unnatural eye colors. The second sign is that the person becomes seemingly indestructible for while they are an infant. This is due to the main power of this trait.

GUTS allows the person to trade their life, mental and physical state, and willpower to fuel them. Most don’t live past 30, and the closer the person gets to their expiration date the less effective and reliable GUTS becomes. Those with a weaker mental state tend to live the longest but have also the weakest form of GUTS while those with a strong mind can master and even mold GUTS to their will into devastating attacks in exchange for years off their life. Just having this ability makes having Durability obsolete as it can substitute for it.

• HERO - HERO is known as the weakest form of GUTS. Being known as the only GUTS level that is purely defensive but is also praised due to its low strain on the user, it is seen differently between all users but all cannot deny its usefulness. One with beginner level willpower is able to maintain HERO with some difficulties, and requires a certain level of concentration to keep active, though anyone with a higher level in willpower is able to have it only passively without any major repercussions.
  
  Once active, HERO gives it’s user a very slim barrier around their skin, protecting them from very light scratches, minor burns, and about 100 pounds of force. Granted it probably won’t give much of a combat advantage, it does protect the user from everyday harm and weapons such as knives and semi-large rocks if they were to ever be suprised by an enemy.
  

VI. Quincy Skills & Abilities

» Quincy Skills:

B - The Bard: Ida’s one-of-a-kind quincy power, something that she had begun working on since she was a child and only finished when she was 16.

Given the extensive amount of time that Ida had put into this skill, it’s power is quite basic. Whenever Ida uses her spirit weapon to play a song, that song has a physical, emotional, or mental effect on all that hear it by altering the reishi. This ability is flawed due to the fact that those who can’t hear whether due to deafness or due to earplugs and that there cannot be a chosen group to hear the music, so an enemy may be buffed by accident.

The way the system works is that there is a song and that song can have effects attached onto it, with the buffs and debuffs having to cancel out. For example, if there was a buff that increases damage there would have to be a debuff that slows or decrease defense, vice versa.

Buffs

Nightcore: By playing increasing the speed and the pitch of any other song, the effects of that song will apply along with granting any who hear it night vision. This night vision takes the darkness around the user and nullifies it, giving them a very monotone look on the world as a good percentage of color is also removed. Does not work on the blind for obvious reasons.

Punk Metal: Whatever song this is played on has a more thicker and amplified sound, the tone of it more aggressive. When this applied, that song’s initial effects are removed completely and instead apply a half rank boost to Durabilty and a half rank boost to Strength. There can be no debuffs that negate this buff, and must affect a different skill.

Slowed + Reverb: Does what it says, Ida slows down the song and adds reverb to the sound waves as they resonate off of her fingers. This adds a revitalized feeling to those who hear it, adding a refreshing take on old music and giving it a different spin. This is all mental, not physical.

Songs:
Billie Jean - Another song, with a catchy riff and some intuitive instrumentals. Though it is close to 500 years old by this point, it still is able to invoke the feeling of funk into those that hear it. It's one of Ida's personal favorites to this point as well as it was not only a difficult song to focus on while in combat but is out of her usual comfort zone when it comes to musical genres. Those who hear this song are given a .75x boost to their Focus for the duration of the song. The song lasts 4 posts before needing to be looped.

Roll Boy Roll - A sea shanty that Ida had picked up during her time in the military, specifically in the Navy. While her superior officer wasn't a big fan of singing, it was what Ida did and it's what she was known for. Roll Boy Roll is a song about a man professing his love for a woman named Sally Brown, something that a lot of sailors who were at sea for prolonged periods of time could relate to. Due to this, those who hear this song are healed of their broken heart, physically and metaphorically. This song induces a feeling of melancholy and bliss to those that hear it and those that sing along with Ida will receive a minor regeneration, equal to having a beginner in a regeneration skill. The song lasts 2 posts before needing to be looped.

Roundabout (Bass) - Requires two post or both the effect of the song and it’s addons do not apply. This song is essentially Roundabout but played on a bass guitar, giving it a more chill and relaxed tone. Those that hear this song are calmed down and fills them with peace, completely ridding them of any anger of violence. All effects last for 3 posts unless stated otherwise.

Bad Reputation - An action filled, blood pumping song that really gets the blood flowing. Is normally used to get events hyped up or make fights seem more dramatic. Requires two posts to get the addons and effect off, though if sung it only takes one post. Those that hear it are given a .5x rank boost to Pain Endurance and General Speed. All effects last for 3 posts unless stated otherwise.

Debuffs:

Untuned - The song that this is played on is played on an untuned guitar, causing the music to just have bad quality and seem off to those that know the song well. This affects people as the constant song being off-tune distracts them, lowering Focus by .5x .

Full Orchestra - A passive ability. Whenever Ida decides to play a song that requires more instruments than just her guitar, the other additional instruments are created to substitute. Even if she doesn’t know how to play them, they would preemptively know how to play the song and will disappear once the song has ended. Purely cosmetic and provides no real combat advantage.
