DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS
Henrex's eyes gazed at the book that Mirja gave him, studying the words on the cover over, and over again. Shinmeiryuu, the God's Cry School. There was a large sense of euphoria coming from the depths of the male's heart, something that resonated with his immense fascination with the book. It was the reason why he found himself in the Living World once more. Exhaling softly as he finally exited the Senkaimon, his head turning as he tucked the book under his arm.
There was one main problem that presented itself with who Henrex was looking. Which was that she was the head of the Wandering Bazaar, leaving her location to be very hard to pinpoint. But, with the information that Madame Tsu, the Queen of Wulin, had been seen in Aokigahara, the Suicide Forest, Henrex knew he had to act quickly. Thus, here he found himself in the supposedly haunted forest of Japan. The sullen, depressing atmosphere of the Suicide Wood bore heavy on the male's conscious, able to sense the number of suicidal thoughts that continued to drift through the mass of green.
It was a place of pure, unadulterated dread.
Henrex felt shivers run down his back, causing his hands to instantly shoot up to his arms. "Maybe this was a bad idea..."
But, among the sense of dread, Henrex was able to make his way through the sorrow-filled sea of trees. His eyes drifted all around him, seeing the various nooses and empty syringes. The most common way that people committed suicide in this place hadn't changed, even in four centuries -- quite the unsettling thought. As he found his way through the maze, his eye caught a glint of purple amongst the green, far off in the distance.
Quickly jumping into a nearby tree, before launching himself forward with a burst of silent energy, Henrex shot through the forest from branch to branch, before finally reaching the clearing. Henrex dropped down from the branch he stood on, his feet making no sound as he landed. A purple haired woman sat down in front of him, her back facing him. Believing her to be either meditating or cultivating her Tai Chi, another alternative, Henrex silently crept up behind the woman until he was but a foot or two away from her before he spoke.
"Madame Tsu?"

Madam Tsu
The Wandering Bazzar was not just a name, it seemed. As Henrex crashed silently into the clearing, he would behold a sprawling mass of tents, stalls, and stands. Some people sold food, other people sold items and yet more people sold strange pills and roots. There were two hundred people in total, and while not a single one of them gave off anything in the way of Reiatsu, they would all blossom a different feeling, a feeling a strange discomfort for Henrex. Every eye turned to him, and while the chatter and generic hussle and bussle of the place still remained, it would do so with a strange new tilt to it. Everyone was watching, everyone was waiting. The tension in the Bazzar was like a bear trap. Sharp teeth on either side, ready to snap shut at any moment.
And then the purple haired woman in the center stood up, and turned to Henrex, talking a few steps towards him. There was something unnerving about her, something disconcerting. Ci Lan Tsu was too perfect, for a human. Her skin unblemished, her hair shining in the little sun that managed to get through the forest canopy, and her steps more graceful than any average human could hope to achieve.
And then she spoke. A voice soft as her skin, backed up by something that was just obscure enough to resist any attempt to pin it down, while still being real enough to be sensed.
"Madam Tsu? Well, there is really only one person who call me that. It's usually Miss Ci, or Lady Lan. A misguided attempt to be polite, but it is said with such sincierity I can not tell her otherwise. She has certainly been gathering many a student to her side of late. Between the Hero, and the Blonde, and the Russian. But I see nothing from you at all, so what does that make you?"

DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS
Beholding the camp that was the Wandering Bazaar's moving base of operations, Henrex found himself encompassed by more than just the dread of the forest of death. It was a feeling of wariness. A newcomer, and someone that did not appear to be welcome. The tension was as thick as tar, and Henrex was not enjoying it one bit. His eyes flicked from one person to the next, and his hand slowly rose from his side, instinctively floating towards the handle of the sword that hung at the back of his waist.
The atmosphere of the Suicide Forest was not exactly helping ease this feeling, either. Why did they feel so discomforted by his presence? Was it because of his spiritual power? Or maybe just because he was a stranger? Either way, it did not seem like things would work out well if things continued being so tense...
Then, Madam Tsu approached. There was something off about her appearance, and it was something that caused Henrex's heart to skip a beat. She was the definition of perfection in humanity. With a voice like the plucked strings of a harp, Henrex knew that Mirja was right on one thing -- the woman was incredibly beautiful. As she asked what made him. Henrex's eyes closed for a moment, before he exhaled, raising the book from his side, now having it rest on his forearm.
"Not an apprentice, that's for sure." He said, his eyes opening.
What was he to Mirja? He was having a hard time really figuring something like that out. He knew that she had said they were 'friends', but knowing Mirja, she was someone who had several stages of a "friend." As his gaze lowered towards the book, Henrex's head tilted back towards Tsu, his eyes locking with hers. Really, there wasn't much else that he could say that would describe himself towards Mirja, outside of insulting nicknames. So, with his mind finally solidifying on what he was to say, his lips parted to speak.
"A friend of hers, who was shown and now seeks out to learn, and master Shinmeiryuu."

Madam Tsu
Seeing that Henrex was not immidiately obliterated by Madam Tsu for being so rude, the staring deminished, and the Bazzar returned to it's normal state of affairs. Haggling, and hawking, with the occasion aggressive boast which escaladed into two men having a scrap. A Friendly scrap, however. The Rules prevented it from being anything more and nobody wanted to get on the bad side of Ci Lan Tsu. As for the woman herself, it seemed Mirja had vastly overstated the reaction she would have towards the style within the book. There was merely a single arched eyebrow from her.
"Shinmeiryuu huh? It seems our pet Wolf's book is much more interesting that I originally thought. I should have persued the purchase of it more agressively" She walked towards Henrex, coming into arm's reach before putting a hand on his chest. Her hands were warm, and soft like silk - how he felt her hands through all his clothes was a mystery, but one that would have to be solved later. Many a man had simply collapsed from the feel of such a thing. But then those men were pathetic and did not survive the winter of Ci Lan Tsu.
"Still, you can hardly learn such an ancient and venerable style without first posessing a Dantian. Your Wolf prefers the method of Wudang-an-han but if she sent you to me she probably wants my expoditing method. Or maybe she just sent you to me because of your ambitions. Never was good with a weapon, that girl" Ci smiled, an act to light up for world for a thousand miles in every direction. And then suddenly pushed Henrex's chest. There was a feeling as if he had been pushed out of something, but the feeling would be abstract and unable to properly comprehend what he had just been pushed through.

DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS
As the moments turned into seconds, Henrex could feel the discomfort beginning to fade, along with the stares coming his way, receding. Henrex took a steady breath as he felt the anxiety of the situation begin to melt away. He saw Ci Lan raise an eyebrow at the appearance of the book, which gave Henrex the impression that she had seen it before, but was not entirely surprised about the book in general.
As Ci Lan moved closer to him, Henrex felt a warm, silk hand press against his chest. The warmth of the human's hand clashed with the icy skin of the Hybrid, and goosebumps rippled across his skin. Henrex's breathing hitched for a moment. His eyes traveled down to her hand, before moving to her face. So, as Ci Lan mentioned his lack of a Dantian and spoke about her own way of unlocking his Dantian, there was a much thicker sense of dread in Aogikahara.
And then, Ci Lan Tsu smiled. The act was something that felt so bright and relaxing that it caused Henrex to smile by the slightest as well. Then, he was pushed. The motion took Henrex by surprise, unable to react well to it in the slightest and quickly fell to the ground, a chill enveloping his body for just a single moment. The young man was quick to rise, with his hand briefly brushing over the center of his chest, before his eyes turned to the being that was now standing next to the woman.
An azure blue shape stood, morphing in appearance to form into the tall, stoic figure of his father. His eyes were cold and narrow as if they were fake. His hands, clenched behind his back with a grip as strong as iron. The simple presence of this man was something that Henrex dreaded. He was a threatening force that demanded absolute authority and obedience just through the aura that this man emitted. Henrex swallowed nervously, his eyes unable to divert from the figure.
"Father..." He managed to whisper, his hands locked in place as if they were frozen.
The man grimaced at the sight of the half-breed, his eye twitching as the term was used. His face contorted into a twisted scowl, his gaze now in a hostile, aggressive glare that seemed to pierce through the young man with resentment.
Henrex's eyes flicked back to Ci Lan Tsu. "What is this?!"

Madam Tsu
Like a statue carved with the greatest care, Ci Lan Tsu stood without emotion, or movement, while Henrex recovered from the push and then reacted to the man stood next to her. And then, after an infinite amount of time, the woman smiled. It wasn't a nice smile however. This smile was dark, and horrifying. Metaphysical blood oozed from this smile. This was a woman who would scour an entire continent of life to kill one man who possessed an item she wanted. Not the best people to face off against, in any situation. But when your most beloved parent was here....
"This? Are you so addled of brain that you can not recognize your own father? Although I guess you are referring to the fact that you saw him die. Allow me to fill in the gaps. You are a useless, pathetic, cowardly failure. Your father watched until he could not cope anymore, and staged a very eleborate scene for you to believe that everyone in your family was dead. So if by some miracle you survived like the cockroach of continious disapointment that you are, there would be no drive to go looking for your family because they were all dead" Ci Lan Tsu was sharp, heavy, and vicious. If her voice before was a sword wrapped in velvet, here and now, it was nought but the sword.
"He came to me after we heard you were heading here, to see if you were still the pathetic brat that you once were. And I can see with a glance that you are. Still. A family reunion should be with family, so I shall leave you are your father to talk. Then you can come to me after you are done, or find a hole to die in. We are in the perfect spot for it, after all. One would wonder if your ceaseless lack of success would extend to killing yourself. That would be an interesting experiment..." She then just turned, and left Henrex with his father. To deal with the rest of the camp's needs.

DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS
'But...you died, just like the rest of them...' The male thought. It was the only thing to come to him in this state of shock and fear.
His eyes moved from his father to Ci Lan once more, his heart swelling with disbelief in the words that she spoke. He knew that night was no scene. It wasn't possible for all of the things that had happened to have been fake. People had died, his home had burned, and there was not a single scrap of life that had escaped that slaughterhouse.
As Tsu walked away, the entire area around them grew silent. There were no birds chirping, no crickets. Just a numbing silence that Henrex didn't dare break between them. A quiet ringing noise drifted through Henrex's ears as he stared at the man in front of him, not moving in the slightest.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, his father spoke.
"You call yourself my son?" He growled. "You're not worthy of calling yourself a samurai, much less hold my family's name."
Those words caused the male's blood to run cold. But alas, his father was by no means done with his words.
"You trusted that snake, and now you've joined him in the path of shadows?!" The male roared, showing a clear knowledge of what Henrex had done in his spiritual life.
"The shinobi are not the heartless killers you think they are! A single tree does not make a forest, Father!"
The man's grip on his hands tightened, before simply shaking his head. "Yet they all grow from the same seed."
"I never strayed from the Way!"
"How can you expect me to believe that, Henrex Astillon? A pathetic excuse to justify how much of a failure you are."
Henrex opened his mouth to speak, but the word had cut deep into him.
Failure. Something that Henrex despised and fear more than anything else. He feared all of his work was all for naught, and being ridiculed and scorned as a result of it. His heart felt so heavy in his chest, he feared it would break. But, there was also another thing that formed through this time: rage. Rage filled him as his mind flowed back to all of the time that he spent bettering himself. His father had not been around to be a worthy judge of him growing.
And so, the male drew his sword, making a single cut towards his father's arm. The weapon didn't get far, however, as the other man's hand quickly met in kind, drawing a weapon of his own and meeting with his son's, the loud bang of steel breaking the second silence of the Suicide Wood.
Henrex pressed his sword further. "You have no right to say that I'm a failure," He spat.
The two weapons shook as they were met with equal resistance, the blades sliding up and down as the men constantly tried overpowering the other, but to no avail.
"A father has every right to judge his son accordingly," His father said, his voice now level and calm.
Henrex's lips parted, revealing clenched teeth as he reached forward with his other hand, lashing at the grip of his father's sword, his father responding in the same likeness. The two grappled for each other's weapon, aiming to seize both of them and draw this skirmish to a close without a single spark of trouble.
"Just as much of a snake as that weasel you called a friend," He said, his gaze turning evermore stone. "Look where it's gotten you now, Henrex Astillon."
Henrex's gaze lowered with the morbid reminder of his past. But, as he did, the words that were being spoken felt...strange. It was his father, and his father's personality, but there was something strange about the way that he was talking to him. The male's brow furrowed as the struggle finally broke, with the two remaining with their own weapons, a cut forming on their respective sword arms -- Henrex's immediately beginning to heal.
"What happened to you, Father?" Henrex asked. "There was a time where you cared about your family more than the Way."
He scoffed and brought his sword from his side, raising the tip in the direction of his son's heart. "I have no need to care about a group of failures, Henrex Astillon."
There it was again. That strange offsetting bit of his voice. Something wasn't right, but what?! His mind analyzed the statements that he made, trying to figure out what could possibly be the difference. As he did, Henrex heard the man scoff, before a smirk spread out onto his face.
"Are you going to say something, or keep trying to come up with more lies of how you're not just a parasite that won't shut up and die?"
Henrex's teeth ground against each other, his knuckles turning white as the grip on his sword tightened. And then, his head rose to look the man in the eyes.
"You would never have married my mother if you thought she was a failure," He said. "You were always expecting the best for yourself."
"Of course I did."
"Someone who descended from you couldn't possibly be a failure, now could he?"
"Every field bears bad harvest."
"You really believe that, with how hard I've worked?"
"Of course. You didn't improve, Henrex Astillon. You just kept falling as soon as you got up."
"No..."
His father's voice immediately took a harsher tone. "Face it! You failed!"
Henrex's head lowered, now unusually interested in the ground beneath. After all this, all of the work that he had put in to better himself from what he had been all those years ago, to make his father proud, to finally do something right in his eyes...all of it for nothing.
He thought back to the number of failures that had lead to this moment. His fight against Zen, and then soon after Kuro. His fight against the demons in Karakura Central, only to be rescued by Shadin Yuudeshi. His loss to Nemesis Atavata, only to be victorious against Stefan Soan -- albeit barely making it out of both fights by the skin of his teeth. As his mind graced upon these times and moments, he also was able to think of the times that had aided him to this point, making him grow into the man that he was today.
His training with Arianda, leading him to dive into the shadows once more and complete his training as a ninja. His choice to spread the way of the ninja to others, with Leviathan Shihoin and Ritsuko as his students. Everyone that he had met, everyone that he called friends. They were the reason that he was here. They were the ones who kept helping him towards his goals and dreams.
But, what solidified this was a single phrase that burned in the back of his mind. A phrase that he had adapted to everything that he had worked towards, and it was burning the brightest in its meaning at this very moment.
Seven times down, eight times up.
No matter how many times you fall, you always get back up. It was a lesson that Henrex first learned in his youth, and it was his driving force. He had to keep picking himself up, no matter how many times he fell. And so, Henrex's head lifted, and his hand flew to his side, sheathing his sword. His eyes locked onto his father's with a newfound determination.
"I may fall seven times, but I know that I'll rise up eight more." The male said.
The moment that he said this, his father's eyes narrowed. "There's no point in trying to get back up. You'll never be able to truly rise up eight times. You'll fall down by the second time."
"I'll just keep getting back up. I don't care how many times I fall in between."
Closing his eyes, Henrex took in a deep breath, before it was instantly knocked out of him through a strike from behind. Light exploded into the darkness of his sealed off vision, and Henrex could feel himself falling.
He was out cold before he even hit the ground.

Madam Tsu
Henrex would wake almost immidiately after hitting the ground, and there would be Madam Tsu sat in front of him, staring into a bowl of water, that she discarded when he woke up. She sat for a few seconds, a brilliant light coming from a small portion of her body, roughly around the stomach area. And depending on how alert he was after getting lectured by his father and then knocked out by something, he'd notice a small something within himself. Nothing of any considerable size, but it was cycling itself, bringing energy up from somewhere around his kidney into a source that was not anywhere he could place a finger on.
"Tai Chi is a mighty power, one of both mind and body. You must have mastery of both to succeed, Henrex of the Raven. Mirja has a certain sociopathic advantage over you, Steiner has his obsession that will drive him past anything he considers a challenge, and Ritsuko was young enough to not have anything major she needed to deal with before learning. But you....you need to let loose the past, so that the future may take root. Failure is a part of life. The difference between the Master and the Novice, is that the Master has failed more times than the Novice has tried" She gave him a warm smile, and then would move to stuff his face into her bosom.
"Do not strive to be someone your father can be proud of. Do not strive to be a person that does not fail in life. Strive to be a person you can be proud of. Strive to be a person who takes failure, and uses it to craft success. But be forewarned, Henrex of the Raven" Madam Tsu tilted Henrex so he could look into her firey eyes. "Standing up for the sake of standing up is not progression. It is stagnation. Doing because you believe you should. If you are going to stand up, then stand because you have a reason to do so. If you lack such a reason, then it is the best course to simply stay down"

DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS
Henrex was not unconscious for long. The light soon returned to his vision and the world blended into clarity once more. As his mind clicked that he was awake, Henrex took a deep breath, his thought process continuing from when the breath had been knocked from him after being hit. Exhaling quietly as he sat up, seeing that Ci Lan was in front of him, moving aside a basin of water.
Looking at the woman, he could see the light that radiated from her stomach, while a new feeling coursed flowing from his kidneys. It was strong and fluid, like water. As Ci Lan spoke, his attention instantly shifted to her, understanding every word that she said. He understood that he had to let go of the past -- it kept weighing him down, even now, when he believed that he had overcome the control that his past had over him. It was a disappointing fact to come to terms with, but it was something that also had the benefit of fueling his determination to overcome that as well.
But, it was only at the quote of the master, failing more than the novice ever tried. Once again seeing Ci Lan smile, it was something that Henrex couldn't help but smile back at. But, the moment of happiness was soon turned to one of embarrassment as Henrex's face was pulled forward and stuffed into the woman's chest, a single grunt of surprise has been the only thing said before this moment occurred. Warmth and chill clashed once more, with Henrex's icy skin now warmed slightly from the heat that had flooded to his cheeks, quickly making Henrex's face take the appearance of a strawberry
...Although, he couldn't lie -- it felt nice, regardless of how awkward and embarrassing it was. Then, Tsu instructed him again. His eyes closed partly as his head was then tilted upwards, their gaze meeting as she told him that he needed a reason for whenever he stood -- to which he knew. There was no point in rising again if there was no reason for it. Nodding softly in response, Henrex swallowed nervously, his gaze not averting from Ci Lan. He really didn't have any words for what she had said. It was something that really just needed to sink in.
...Outside of his red face, unable to really say anything after being stuffed into her chest.

Madam Tsu
Madam Tsu giggled softly at Henrex turning red. She was not young, so teasing the boys with her good looks was a great pass time now her family was in the dirt and she was all alone. Far too old for her to ever try pick up the whole family thing again, so instead she just made the whole of Wulin her family, and decided that would be enough for her. And it was, since she had many children in Wulin that needed her guidence.
"Now, don't expect it to solve everything ever. That merely showed you your biggest problem. It is up to you to fully come to terms with it, and then there is everything else as well. Biggest doesn't mean only, after all. But you have shown you have the ability to push forward, which is imperiative to get anywhere further than Silver. Our Mirja has recently hit the fourth rank of Silver Realm, and I am sure if she could manage to get back on her feet, Gold would be forthcoming pretty quickly. As it is, even with her Iramashaian advantage, cultivation is going to take a while to hit the fifth" She then took out a small velvet bag, and tossed it to Henrex.
"Speaking of Cultivation. These are some low level elixers. Take no more than two of them a week, and they will be able to grant a kick to your Cultivation for a few hours. Stoic Meditation with Elixers suffices for Bronze, but most people take them before their Martial Meditation when they get to Silver rank. The book you have is rather basic so there is a few things missing. Once you hit Silver, you can get a Qi Elixer as well as the normal elixers. One Qi Elixer a week is good suppliment on top of the two Elixers a week. And you should learn to cook Elixers yourself. Mirja grows all the herbs you need for low level elixers, and quite a few you need for Qi Alchemy"
Madam Tsu then freed Henrex from her bosom, and gestured to the Bazzar. "Come back when you hit Silver, and Gold, and we can talk more about other things. As it is for now, you are free to explore the bazzaar and see what you can buy. We offer Soulforged equipment, Standardized Technique manuals, Cultivation techniques, and even a few Natural Oddities if you want to jump-start your Cultivation. Be prepared to have a light wallet when you buy one of them though" She then looked Henrex up and down for a moment, before clicking her tongue.
"Also, you seem pretty self-sufficent. Spiritual Beings usually are stronger than most Tai Chi users. So you are welcome to explore the Tomb we have discovered underground. Just be prepared. The ancient Cultivators were a sneaky lot, and guarded their treasures jealously"
