- CHASM REVIVAL TEMPLATE
Chasm Revival Name: Ruination Seraph
Edict Oath:By chains of delusion, be bound. Witness the fall of a Nation and reborn in the age of Calamity. Ruination Seraph
Chasm Mark: Ceal's mark is on her pelvic area, just above the waistline. While usually hidden by clothing, it should be glowing a light pink/reddish color during this form. This seal expands in this form, tribal chains surrounding this seal, spreading out upon the rest of the skin on her torso.
Appearance:
Abilities:
Physical Enhancement:
In this form, Ceal has increased physical stats, most notably in the durability and speed department. The idea of this form is to boost Ceal's ability to withstand and avoid dangerous opponents so she can properly utilize her slow-burning abilities in this form, many of which as initially easily dealt with, but if neglected or ignored, evolve into real problems
Effects: Durability +1, Speed +1, Willpower +1
Requirements: Seal of Eris mastery Adept Required.
Enhanced Disaster Powerset:
Since this is a direct add-on of Ceal's Seal of Eris line of abilities, her Disaster abilities are enhanced and augmented, making them fundamentally the same, but superior than their counter parts. However, some of the abilities do change a bit, going back to the ideology of the “slow-burning” ability effects previously mentioned.
Ruination Bolt: Similar in appearance to disaster bolt, ruination bolt is a black hued bolt of electricity that is vastly larger and volatile. It has no inherent properties and will consume any matter it comes into contact with. Denser materials take more time, but the end result is the same. They can be affected by abilities that disrupt the flow of energy if used correctly. If any given bolt is allowed to exist for more than a single post, it will become empowered and enraged, gaining additional speed and doubles it's rate of consumption of matter to double the original value
Effects: Creates a varying size of bolts based on tier of unaspected spiritually/physically damaging bolts of pure chaos energy.
Tier 0: Can spawn up to ten bolts from her body, or from any magical portal she creates upon the battlefield in a 500 meter range. Bolts can be as wide as 60 meters with an impact range of 120 meters (diminishing returns the farther away one is from epicenter)
Tier 1: Up to ten bolts. Only from her body and from 3 portals within a 200 meter range. Bolts can be 40 m wide, impact radius of 80m (diminishing returns the farther away one is from epicenter)
Tier2: Up to six bolts. Only from herself, 30m wide, impact radius of 60m. (diminishing returns the farther away one is from epicenter)
Tier3: Up to 3 bolts. Only from herself 15m wide, impact radius of 30m. (diminishing returns the farther away one is from epicenter)
Additional Comments: Note that this ability is similar to void magic. There is no inherent protection against it and is considered to be extremely powerful and indiscriminate in how it affects matter, the only protection is denser materials/spiritual pressures/superior speed can really fight against this. However, do note that As Ceal puts focus into casting these bolts, the more focus she uses to control them, the more her own movement is restricted due to heavy brain processing power, making her a valuable target, since one may choose to initiate close combat with her to break her focus on the ability, forcing them to dissipate.
Field of Ruin: Just like Disaster Field, Field of Ruin is a designated area around a point of Ceal's choosing that spawns a chaotic storm of chaos/disaster energy that is capable of zapping away the strength and stamina of anyone inside of it Ceal views as an enemy. It is a mixed defensive and offensive ability that requires a fair deal of cognitive power to keep active, but is capable of giving Ceal an advantage, especially of the opponents ignore it. The max strength of this ability need not always be used, since the less energy Ceal uses in this ability, the less visible and less noticable it is for the enemy. At low levels it may feel like a simple miasma meant to disorientate a foe and they may attempt to fight through it, mistaking it for another skill. It is a subtle ability and is Ceal's keystone ability in this form, as it receives the largest update in usability. If any enemy is affected by this for more than a single post this field will mark any enemies within, and allow Ceal to detonate it any post afterwards for as long as the enemy stays within this field. The result will be that the field will further consume any energy/stamina it has collected within the collective posts before hand all at the same time, again. This is an incredibly dangerous ability for enemy's to take note of when fighting Ceal. She can use this as full power on enemies who are unable to move for an easy finisher, or she can use varying levels of this in the heat of combat, adding to the subtly of this move to her advantage when the enmy feels they have an upper hand and are pressing the attack.
Effects:
Tier 0: Can effect any area within 600 meters of Ceal, within a Radius of 400 meters. Additionally, Field of Ruin can consume energy at a ridiculous rate, capable of incapacitating any tier 3 or lower characters within a four post
Tier 1: Can effect any area within 300 meters of Ceal, within a Radius of 200 meters. Additionally, Field of Ruin can consume energy at an exceptional rate, capable of incapacitating anyttier 3 or lower characters within six posts.
Tier 2: Can effect any area within 200 meters of Ceal, within a radius of 100 meters. Additionally, Field of Ruin can consume energy at an increased rate.
Tier 3: Can effect any area within 100 meters of Ceal, within a radius of 50 meters.
Additional comments: As Ceal throttles down the effect of this ability, the visibility and likelihood of an opponent sensing it as such an attack becomes increasingly harder. At 50% power, it has 50% visibility and is already hard to really see at full power, appearing like a field of dark wind and black electricity discharging seemingly at random within it, swirling around in a circle. At 10% power, it is 10% visible, almost invisible to even exceptional sight and energy radars. Also to note, as the rate is increased with high tiers, so is the rate at which Ceal consumes energy at 100%, effectively meaning she can burn out faster using this at full power. It is a skill meant to be used at varying percentages for subtly reasons, so the enemy doesn't consider it a real issue, and so she doesn't burn out. Also, so that she can build up the stacks from the field of ruin so when they detonate due to their negligence, the collective energies being consumed again.
Ruination Stunner: Diaster stunner is a purely defensive ability, and this one is not really that different. It is able to take the concept of paralysis and employ it on things even of it doesn't make physical sense. As much of the powers that stem from chaotic influences, this one is no different, taking the concept of something and being used for something else that seems impossible. This ability is capable -with extensive brain power depending on it's range of effect- is capable of placing an object or person in a supernatural state of paralysis, effectively freezing or “stunning” them into inaction. It can do this with energy blasts, objects, spells, people (it is much harder to do and is subject to willpower resistance). In many cases several energy blasts that tend to be volatile in nature, such as Cero of high level Kido, require more stamina and focus to stop, and even more for longer periods of time, but one can briefly cause it to hiccup in a slit second of time in order to evade or otherwise come up with a counter attack to said skill.
Tier 0: ???? (I don't even know)
Tier 1: Can affect city blocks, paralyzing things of varying degrees
Tier 2: Can affect more types of energy blasts, and can affect large areas of massive area of effect abilities to create a “safe escape”
Tier 3: Can affect anything the side of a medium sized, like trees, light poles, or rocks/blasts of 10 m or smaller
Additional Comments: This skill is subject to being resisted by willpower and it is extremely unlikely Ceal can paralyze anyone of similar tier, or anything above tier 4. It “is” possible, but they have to have been extremely weakened in some way, such as taking the brunt of a Ruin Field, or have been in an exhausting fight prior, where their stamina had been used up. Solid objects of non magical origin are the easiest to paralyze, like knives, bullets, guns, etc. Energy blasts are difficult, but she has a certain affinity with stopping anything electrical or demonic in nature. Holy or diving magic/abilities can not be affected by this skill at all.
Ruin Burst This ability also gets a rather significant change within her Chasm revival form. Originally, this is an addendum to disaster bolt, allowing her to them to “piggyback” off of, allowing her to make contact with the disaster bolt, then using a disaster burst to chaotically warp or change the area/matter instead of outright attempting to erase it, causing molecular instability. Instead of using disaster bolts, this ability is changed into being a targeted bomb of sorts, able to designate an area with a small black bauble the size of a tennis ball. This is a highly condensed mass of chaotic energy from the seal of eris, but is harmless in this state and has a cook time of two posts. After the post it was created in, and the following post of the user, the following third post these small baubles will cause a detonation, drastically warping a varying radius around the target, destabilizing the area and unraveling the area at the molecular level, causing something of a ruining effect, melting, decaying, or otherwise causing a degradation of the matter in the location. Though these baubles have a cook time of 3 posts, any disaster/ruin bolt that passes through one or more of these will cause them to detonate immediately!
Tier 0: Can create up to 7 baubles, effect range is 100m. Additionally, instead of the area being warped, it is completely erased.
Tier 1: Can create up to 5 Baubles, effect range is 50
Tier 2: Can create up to 3 Baubles, effect range is 30m
Tier 3: Can create up to 1 Bauble, effect range is 20m
Additional Comments: None for now unless additional explanation is required.
New abilities:
Chains of Delusion:
Passive Effect: (Purely for story driven content, member consent is required) With this new ability comes the theme of Ceal's new identity as the Seraph of Disaster, Ceal is able to invoke a state of superb corruption within a host, shackling their “heart” in chains, supernaturally binding their will to hers. This can be done at any level of potency, from subtle to mind-breakingly powerful. The purpose of this is to be able to slowly corrupt the minds of would-be heroes, protagonists, or anyone not inherently keen on the desires of the Chasm Domain's end game. It will serve to alter and change the perspective of the user over time, much like the seal of Eris, while also making them increasingly susceptible to Ceal's desires and whims. Her own reason for wanting to do this is largely because of her inherent distaste for combat and killing. She would much rather goad and coerce people to join her, to feel the wonders of discord and madness, to bask in the glory of Eris, forever.
Active: The active ability for chains of delusion is largely different, as it is an actual combat skill too. Whether it be from her body, or from designated portals (much like ruin bolt) Ceal is capable of spawning and controlling ethereal spearhead tipped chains of the underworld. Widely considered an ancient relic of hell used to bind angels and lead unto their corruption, these chains are not to be trifled with, able to aggressively seek out enemies on the battlefield. If by chance these chains can make contact with an enemy, they will attempt to bind them in place, forcing the victim to fight off the mental effects these produce upon touch, using willpower as the primary skill to avoid being locked in place. In the event of a complete failure, the victim is locked in an illusion of their greatest desires, goals, whims, etc. It's possible to recognize it as an illusion based on mental deduction levels. In a partial failure, they are simply bound for a single post unless the chain is broken by another character, or Ceal is forced to release the ability due to interference. This ability is on par with disaster bolt in how it has the capability to restrict her movement with increased focus on the skill While ethereal in nature, they do still have a physical form, and can be blocked/fought off using weapons, shields, or advanced defensive combat techniques.
Tier 0: Can spawn up to 20 chains, from her body or from 10 portals within 500m radius around her. Additionally can be combined with ruin bolts, using it's properties to potentially break through most defensive abilities.
Tier 1: Can spawn up to 10 chains, from her body or from 5 portals within 200m radius around her. Additionally can be combined with ruin bolts, using it's properties to potentially break through some defense abilities
Tier 2: Can spawn up to 6 chains, from her body or from 3 portals within a 50m radius around her.
Tier 3: Can spawn up to 3 chains, from her body only.
Wings of the Fallen:
Passive Effect: Allows Flight and the usage of Soul Dash while flying.
Active Effect: Ceal manifests a pair of black feathered wings, similar to that of a raven, or more accurately, darkened angel wings. However, this does more than that as it is a slight augmentation to the form as a whole. Aside from giving her flight as a passive trait, While these wings are active, black clouds begin to collect overhead, creating a pseudo storm as her aura begins to affect the realm around her, changing the weather to such, allowing the clouds to build up electrical tension. Aside from this, she can choose to fling various quills of feathers from her wings, typically called “feather storm”, Once these quills leave the wings, they begin to rapidly transmogrify into large metal stakes roughly between seven to ten meters long, and about as thick around as a light post. These are extremely heavy and “can” be used to impale victims. However their true purpose is to impale the ground and act as “lightning rods”, calling the fury of the storm and drawing in stray bolts of magically augmented lightning capable of incredible amounts of damage to anyone within the blast radius of said lightning rods. Lightning bolts can chain between up to 5 of these lightning rods, as well and are capable of passing through an enemy more than once, increasing it's damage to the target.
Additional Comments: This is considered to be the capstone ability of this form, used only when Ceal is serious on defeating her opponent and has a heavy requirement to obtain this ability. It doesn't use that much stamina, but it allows her to use a finishing move that will consume nearly all of her energy.
Requirements: Seal of Eris Mastery: Master or higher, Tier 1 or higher required
Calamity Bolt [Event Only Skill]: Calamity bolt is usable only within Wings of the Fallen and will immediately end Chasm revival form upon execution, as it takes nearly all of Ceal's energy/stamina to use. That said, this is an extremely powerful move used as a finisher, either in desperation or for a sure-kill way to end her opponent. Using the collective lightning energy stored within the clouds generated from Wings of the Fallen, Ceal will call upon an abnormally large stake from the ground, rapidly transforming magical energy into a large lightning rod the comparable to the size of a massive lighthouse. Flying over to it, Ceal will use this rod and herself as a catalyst to call forth a chaotic bolt of lightning from the sky. Due to the nature of herself being in the blast radius, it is a highly dangerous move and one mistake during it could cause her to kill herself. However, the damage from this ability is astronomical, consdering to be in the class of “world changing abilities”
Actual Effect: Calls forth a 500m tall lightning rod that is 100m wide, after one post, calls forth a bolt of lightning that has an impact radius of 1000m, (diminishing returns from the epicenter), Causing massive energy, spiritual, and physical damage to anyone caught in the blast. The bolt passes through Ceal and consumes all of her energy, sans the small amount used to preserve her life. Ends chasm revival on usage, potentially incapacitates Ceal
Reason: With Ceal becoming the host to the child of Ruin, Ate, this is a form that both retains the base look of Ceal, while also giving her a most tattered, apathetic, and otherwise depraved look that comes from her new friend. Aside from her looks, this form was bound to happen with ceal's increasing venture into the darkness of the demon world. She is probably one of the most excessive users of the Seal of Eris, relying on it more than her own power at times. Because of this, her mastery with it has grown to be as-if it was an extention of her own powers. Due to this, the seal's influence on her has grown exponentially and quickly. Her mental state is rapidly decaying, and this form helps solidify her as a child of the chasm, falling further into the rabbit hole she is now unable to dig herself out of.
» Why: I didn't feel like it as appropriate to place this in the chasm revival registration since I had already one so, so I wanted a new thread so we could talk balances if I need to.
» Extra: [Anything extra to add?]
[adm]Not bad. It seems to be fitting with her prior theme's and builds on them well in my opinion.
I'm not too miffed with the abilities since they pretty balanced as well and have a constant theme.
So I'll allow it and approve it. [/adm]
