A Royal Run Around
Thu Aug 17, 2017 7:23 pm
Qiang's chest rose and fell as he rounded a corner into the market. It was good to be out of the Palace for a change. Men wearing armor called for him as his form vanished. Jumping down a bit and landing softly he pulled a hood up. He'd smiled as he gave them the slip again. He was one King who didn't sit in the Palace anymore. This side of him was somewhat childish in a way. Qiang didn't show this side often, but it was almost a restless feeling. It made him leave that place and explore. The Palace was a prison in its own way. He'd sensed a change in the world as he struggled to unlock more Tarots. Limitations to what could be done from this place had become clear. He smiled watching the market place as he hides under a cloak. Just wanting to be a random person searching the market. He wanted to be invisible if possible. It was something a lot harder than it sounded for Qiang. His origin was he who is hidden in plain sight. He had an appearance that grabbed attention and drew it to him.
Despite his wishes to remain completely unknown or left alone. He began searching around the market for interesting items. Or at least pretending to do so poorly. Qiang was really observing his people and their smiles. That was precious to him, he wanted to protect that with his skills. He wanted to make sure they were safe regardless of what came. It was why despite not having a lot of skill, he could see a possible outcome. A hope for them to become more and maybe someday be a figure in the Suigura Culture again. East wasn't the strongest at the moment or largest. They did have a culture that was rich and could be recited. As a culture that breeds skilled and graceful warriors. His dream was for their artisans to once again become famous in this world and all others. But with a man who didn't know how to keep his mouth shut or stay out of things. It seemed like it was unlikely to happen for him. But he hoped for them and those who had dreams in his Kingdom. Slipping his guards for this occasion was a boost for him. It was just the morale increase to keep training.

Sato had run down like a hooligan which made him breath so heavily after he arrived. All the stalls were open now, lit with their lanterns, lamps and hanging bulbs that attracted a lot of mosquitoes and other flying insects. There were lots of pigeons on top of the opposite building and you could hear the constant cawing of the crows. He stood at the edge of the left hand side road as people passed by. The noises were very loud; people talking in all sorts of languages, the daily noise of traffic. Sato was a bit dazed with what he was actually sent down for and got back to work as it hit him.....read more.
There it was before him was a one man shop. He was selling fruits; bananas, mangoes and oranges in particular. Sato told him he wanted 6 oranges and a bunch of bananas. He went right to it wearing a white shirt and grey pants and slippers, he assembled the items and put them in a bag which was re-checked by a younger boy who was probably about 10 years old, wearing shorts a shirt and some slippers. He asked Sato if we were from here...he didn't have time to talk as he quickly carried on ignoring his talk from behind. It was darker already and the sky had changed its colour course from bright light to murky blue. It was getting late and the noise was getting louder. People passed, the castle bells rang, and it was all very busy. Sato crossed the road which was more like hop, skip, and jump....
They all wore either bangles, chain or a "piyal" (anklet). They all seemed to have tattoos on the arms, mostly written in Hindi script. He got his things and crossed once again. The overall noise was not getting any softer and the amount of people that came by also increased. The shop lights were switched on all around and the traffic and noise pollution had also increased. The puddles on the road had got his shoes dirty and he was going to take a shower after his ordeal.
"I should really head back home, it's going to get dark soon and I wouldn't wanna make mother upset.."

Qiang found the boy who bought stuff interesting, it was good to see an unfamiliar face for a change. He knew most in this Kingdom he thought, but he'd been stuck in that dingy palace so long. Well, it couldn't be called that, he understood the reason why. The Tarots weren't unlocked fully nor was the capabilities behind them. Qiang's power was massive that was why he was made King. For the future potential, he had back then and now still. His people suffered endlessly with this world being what it was. The lanterns were lit as he inhaled a bit deciding to follow the male. Just in case, his eyes told him something was coming soon. He didn't know what was going. Qiang's senses were sharper than most would imagine. It wasn't anything one should desire or beg for. This was just the way the cookie crumbled in some cases. Qiang took a fruit leaving a high coin smiling. "Keep the change, do well my brother." Qiang believed this was his family. The people of the East and his job was a simple one. To provide a future possibility for them of some sort.
But in truth, he was just the man here to see the outcome. "It's nice out here, the lanterns look like stars beneath the night sky." Or something cheesy like that he muttered out loud to himself. He wasn't paying attention as he bumped into a male who bought stuff and was in a hurry to go home. Most of the Kingdom now the King by sight. This complicated matters a terrible amount in truth. He backed up and smiled a bit not realizing what he'd done. "My bad, sorry about that I got lost in the Market." It wasn't what one would think though. No Qiang knew his way very well, he didn't get lost in the roar or sea of people. It was more he got lost in the beauty of the trade and bustling business. It was a thriving culture, what he hoped to see here in this new world. It was indeed worth getting lost in, the Warrior King enjoying the markets. That wasn't the headline many would expect. But he'd had an image painted of him since he became King.
But sometimes people needed a dose of reality.

The stranger who bumped into him was wearing a small hood over his head and with a smile that was innocent enough to say the least...he was of similar height to Sato and had a interesting demeanor as well.
The man apologized for bumping into him but he understands the completely being in a place filled with hundreds of people of varying ages, heights, and even backgrounds is pretty overwhelming for those unfamiliar with these marketplaces.
"It's fine I get lost in the marketplace as well...there's so many different items and valuables it makes me wanna stay and browse till the end of time."
Sato looked at the boy with a look of curiosity he wondered if he had any special powers of his own..after all ever since he met Mirja he was desperately looking for more just like her. After all the world was filled with different beings with abilities never seen before by mortal men,
Before coming back to reality once more he probably made it awkward by just standing there staring into space however he got an idea what better way to start a conversation then by introducing yourself, who knows maybe they'll become good friends or at least acquaintances..so Sato introduced himself with a tone of utter vigor.
"The name's Sato by the way, what's yours?"

He had to marvel at how it all functioned. The Eastern Kingdom was a beautiful and culture filled the place for many people. He could escape his guards now and again to go see it. The truth was this was only one side of the king of warriors. He was an individual with multiple sides and changes in his personality. A traditional greeting he hadn't gotten one of those in a while. "I'm Li Qiang, it's nice to meet you, Sato." And like a robot almost he'd said the line. Qiang had only a moment later realized what he'd done. This wasn't exactly the brightest move in his line of escapes. Introducing himself in the middle of a market with his real name. Well, he has screwed already, may as well just get ready for the possible outcomes. Qiang sighed softly as he brought his hand to his face. Of all the dumb mistakes he'd made in his time of getting away. Giving his name up to a random stranger in his own Kingdom. That topped the list as he readied for whatever questions Sato may have had.
But the fact has Qiang had reasons for doing this. He wanted to see the culture and people function normally. Without fear of guards or some royal figure overlooking. This place was a marvel and it was something special. Qiang's strength wasn't there yet to protect or defend them completely. He could sense his almost weak insignificant efforts now and again. In terms of power he lacked a great deal, he'd not unlocked the entire powers of each Tarot yet. They remained hidden beneath the surface waiting requirements. Some had only brought about weapons. But some of the requirements for activating them were stupid. Falling in Love for the Lovers. Qiang didn't know who came up with this logic. But sometimes he'd like to drop kick that person. But he'd forget about that soon enough he guessed. What would come next would either be a surprise or the typical dragged back to the palace ending.

Qiang huh? Now that was an interesting name, it sounded like a name passed down throughout generations of a family tree. It was absolutely stunning having a name that sounds like royalty. Sato wished his family had a cool but hey you can't rewrite the past so Sato will have to do for now
However, Qiang looked dumbfounded as he put his hand over his face like he did something either embarrassing or utterly stupid.
This made Sato question him even further was that not his official name if so then why lie about in front of his face? Whatever the case he didn't wanna be mean spirited and spheal about whether or not he's the person who say he is, however an idea just rose in his head maybe he can persuade him on the wonders of herbalism.
Sato sighed in a bit of anger but kept smiling before asking him a question on his hobby. "So Qiang have you ever experienced the art of herbalism? "I'm just starting out but I can assure you it's a fun hobby, grinding up various plants until it's a powder is very helpful in terms of medicine."

By the goddess, he was a lucky son of a whore at this point. The male didn't realize or connect the dots. He exhaled a sigh of relief as he perked his brow at the mention of herbs. "I envy you, I am not good at that sort of stuff. Never have been good at much outside of fighting." He said sadly as he remarked on the topic. It was a sad position to be in. He couldn't create or do such neat things that others did. Qiang was simply a warrior of wisdom and skill. But that didn't go outside of his regular skills. He didn't activate or use things in the same way. Qiang had his powers locked up for a majority of reasons too. But the most useful part about not unlocking them all was this. He could casually speak with someone and act as an equal. Not as a better or someone who lived beneath the current of things. Qiang smiled a bit as he thought about creating things. He wouldn't mind living like that on occasion, his stomach felt a bit ill at the thought. No, he'd be too restless to live a life without a warrior's mentality.
He trained like a dog for a singular purpose. To practice and improve upon his skills. It was to go beyond the sun, beyond the limitations of this reality. It was to become something great yet again, that was what he wanted. He wanted to step beyond just that and use these skills to protect his people. To develop and fight them without holding back. To find his killer resolve under the surface of his full potential. This was what Qiang wanted most of all. Someday to reach a potential that was near what he could have done. He'd not leave anyone to die on this earth ever again. That was his solemn vow to himself and those around him. He would become the Sugiura's warrior King and fight whatever war he had too. He would protect and defend this realm from those who'd come. He didn't intend to bow out peacefully or retreat into the shadows for anything. Qiang would overcome things and do his best to become strong. That was his promise and his vow to these people like Sato. He stood marveling at each thing shown to him. Like a child in a candy store.

Sato watched as Qiang's tone of voice changed so suddenly he felt concerned and wante d to ask what was bothering him...but he wouldn't wanna meddle into someone's business especially if they don't feel like discussing about it.
But that's understandable certain people are good and some things while others aren't and that's not a vs thing persay since everyone learns at a different pace then others. So he tried to at least build his confidence up by saying he isn't that much good at certain things "I'm in the same boat your in actually, not much of a fighter but rather an individual who's goal is to mentor new minds."
Sato gave Qiang an orange before asking him one last thing until he departs to his mothers log cabin...a choice he can choose to accept or not
With a small breath Sato asked with a tone of excitement and wonder
"So Qiang, would you like to try herbalism? I have a pestle and mortar back at home and i have a few plants for you to start with." asked in a curious with eyes sparkling for a response from him
If Qiang agreed this would be a great step into Sato's career not only will he teach herbalism to others but also gain a potential friend in the process. However if not Sato would be understandable, besides he wouldn't want to keep him from exploring the rest of the marketplace.

Qiang could understand that aspect of things. Being on the outside looking in this world of fighting. Qiang smiled a bit as he thought about the differences. That was when the unexpected happened and the offer of herbalism came. Qiang blinked for a bit as he thought about it. He'd never turned down learning new things. Not on any situation did he walk away from it. This wasn't an outcome within his being. "Sure, I'd like to learn something new..I'm a bit clumsy though, so bear with me." Qiang said softly as he acknowledged his own problem. He couldn't do much else in this situation aside from walk forward. He couldn't fathom the world where he didn't try this. But outside of fighting Qiang was a clutz as many would call it. He wasn't steady or perfect at those sort of things. The man only seemed to be one trick when it came to this sort of stuff. But Qiang could drink with the best of them, even putting down an entire barracks. That was the most effortless thing he'd ever accomplished outside of fighting.
Qiang's strength for the brew was out of this world. He didn't make much outside of that as he smiled. Bringing his arms to rest on his shoulders as his fingers locked behind his head. It would be an adventure one way or another. Those were always interesting, after all, he couldn't afford to pass up a chance. Qiang could maybe unlock a Tarot here as well. If he could successfully learn something new outside of fighting. After all, this man didn't know who he was or even about his curse.

Success! Another person willing to learn herbalism from the one and only Sato himself.
This was going to be the greatest experience in his entire life, he is the master while Qiang is the student. The whole situation would've made him jump up and down in utter delight, but he kept those feelings inside for now.
But Sato understands his situation completely when someone learns something new for the first time it gets pretty difficult at first but overtime they'll gradually improve over a period of days or perhaps weeks.
"Don't worry Qiang, I'll teach you everything I know step by step. Now come follow me to my parents house, it should only take us a few minutes to get there."
Sato then put down his basket filled with fruits and vegetables and began rummaging around for his pestle and mortar before showing Qiang it had a beautiful sky blue tint to it and was fully made of ceramic complete with black zigzag patterns.
"These are the tools that begin your journey in herbalism"
Sato then grabbed his basket and began to walk past Qiang towards his destination. He turned his head and waited assuming he would follow suite.
