ENTER THE FLUFFY WOLF

Artist: N/A - Song: N/A - Word Count: N/A

Ahh, there was nothing better than sliding into a sauna after a hard-fought battle with a Legend of Wulin. That Red Phoenix especially was a beautiful thing to see. Cleanly dodged her punch and didn't leave him open for a dramatic counter-attack. If she could have a fight like that every other week then she'd be on his level in no time. And she would be so dramatically entertained she would probably explode from happiness. A fight like that, with a guy like him. If, they avoided the whole concubine thing. That kind of annoyed her.

And then someone appeared, and that someone got a punch in the face. She didn't know it was Steiner, but she was just acting on reflex. As wounded and exhausted as Steiner was, dodging such a punch would probably be difficult. It would be barely a tap by her standards, but that was still enough to feel like having a baseball bat wrapped around your head.

"No, it's mine. Get your own" she muttered, rolling over in her sleep before something clocked in her mind. That, was a very solid dream she had just dissuaded of stealing her goodies. So she opened her eyes groggily, and sniffed. The sniff of Steiner, which was awkward. This was going to have to be handled with grace and tact. "Good show, apprentice! Your face will become a mighty shield yet!" she exclaimed, displaying neither of the needed emotions, before slowly hauling herself up and taking the root she had offered. Casual chatter would help him forget he just got brained by his teacher.

"Ahh, Oijia Root. You know your medicines, Steiner. Did you teach yourself that?" she asked, splitting it open at the bottom and sucking out the juices before discarding the dry, now worthless root. Standing up, she stretched dramatically and groaned a bit. "The disparity is a killer. I'm full of energy and yet my body aches. And the Tulpa doesn't work for ache" she groaned, before going to pick up Steiner if he had not already gotten up. "Sorry. I sleep rather vigorously. Still, welcome to the treasure room. Take any one thing you want from here, and then we will haul the rest back up" she told him, before wandering about the treasure room, tapping the floor in places, almost as if she was looking for something under the ground.

Steiner had done as any sane person would have done if they saw someone close to them laying out on the floor in as bad as shape as Mirja had been in. His concern and deep care for the his wolfish master should have been noted, more so than that it should have been respected, and yet the situation that was coming for the young man was no where near any of those things. He had done as he had been told earlier, staying behind to fight an army of stone warriors and undead zombies, and even more so he was exhausted and hurt. Yet, as he leaned in to hear if Mirja's breathing had normalized, he heard her shout at him, and then lash out at him in what some would consider a dazed burst of aggression. Steiner had mere seconds, no mere milliseconds to back his face up before Mirja's fist came at his face with reckless abandon, and in those milliseconds, Steiner found his THIRD wind. Where the sudden burst of stamina or speed has came from, Steiner didn't know, but he knew all to well what would happen if Mirja's fist made contact with his face. He probably would be eating through a straw for a month and to be honest, he really didn't want to have to go through an ordeal like that.

So he did what any sane man would have done in a normal fist fight, he leaned back, ignoring the pain coming from his body, and tried his best to take his face out of the impact zone of that fist. This, however was not a normal fist fight, this was not a normal person he was dealing with, and in that moment Steiner knew he had fucked up. Leaning back had allowed him to dodge the impact of the fist upon his face, but the air that was disturbed by the punch of someone as powerful as Mirja was not something that Steiner had anticipated. With a sound similar to that that of a small sonic boom, Steiner's face was hit with a gust of wind unlike any that he had ever experienced in all of his years of training. He flipped, rag-dolling in the air, and spinning like he was some kind of ace fighter pilot in a jet plane until finally he came face first with his very own point of impact. A nearby tomb wall. The walls shook, not from Steiner's impact, but from the vibrations being set off by Mirja's sonic boom punch. Steiner found himself falling down the wall, face first almost cartoonishly, as slowly as possible, his face becoming acquainted with every minute detail of the cave wall, and its deteriorating state.

He lay there for a bit, the third wind being completely removed from him as if the impact of the punch had been squarely in his gut, and he lay there groaning as it was the only thing he could do. His jaw felt horrible and upon further investigation, as his hand delicately began to feel his face, he found that his jaw had indeed been dislocated, and it didn't feel very good to be absolutely honest. He let out a roar of disapproval as he touched a much to tender part of his jaw, and tried his best to get back up using his good arm to do so. He then heard Mirja say his face would make a good shield and for the first time Steiner shot his mentor a death glare that would defeat all death glares that she probably had ever seen. This was the glare of a man who had been through the shit and had been rewarded for doing so with a snide comment and an even more shit. He dropped the glare, letting out an audible sigh that was quickly followed by a rather large howl of pain, and then put his hand on his jaw. He wouldn't cry, not in front of someone as strong as Mirja, but feeling his jaw he knew that he would probably come close to doing so. Without a second to waste, Steiner did what any person would do in that situation. He reset his jaw.

Steiner had of course from time to time had to reset his own bones, it was part of training too hard, or training by himself. He had not once in the course of this time on this green Earth had to reset his jaw and when he did so, it was very clear that he had never felt pain much like that before. He let out a rather large yell, one that rivaled any yell that he had ever done so before, and as he let this yell go he felt the pain throughout his body magnify the yell which bounced off the walls, disturbing a few bats, and probably notifying anything else in the tomb of their presence. After what seemed like a good minute of yelling, Steiner shut his mouth, and began to breathe deeply as any man would have after getting their jaw put back in place. Steiner gave it a few delicate chomps to test the integrity of the set and then glared at Mirja a bit longer before letting out a defeated sigh as he wobbled his way over to the Wolf without saying a word. He looked broken, maybe even a bit angry, but he wasn't defeated and to him that was all that mattered. He didn't say a word to Mirja, wobbling by her on a busted leg, and on almost no stamina remaining to begin looking for something to take with him.

He went to adjust the scabbard that lay empty, his once prized possession, the last memory of being someone strong, and his bond with the spirit of that sword were now gone. Broken, broken like him, and that made him regret using it as he had. He felt naked without it, it had been such a big part of who he was, and now he didn't have it anymore and the emptiness of that emotional conclusion just left a feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach. All the while, Steiner's eyes danced around the treasure room. Sure there were things of value here, but nothing that seemed to interest someone who wasn't about material things. He could take some trinket he imagined, there were a plethora of those, but Steiner didn't want some dinky cup or a medallion. He wanted his sword back. His eyes drifted some more, moving from point A to point B across the room until his eyes came upon an altar of sorts in the corner. He shone his flashlight on the altar and caught sight of a metallic glint that shone brightly back upon him. He stepped forward, timidly as to avoid hurting himself further, and found himself inches away from the altar in a matter of seconds, his eyes brushing over a sword of interesting make, and form.

His hand hovered over the hilt of the blade, his eyes drifting back to the wolfess as she scavenged the room before looking back at the blade, and then he would grasp the hilt of the sword.

He tested the weight, as he did with every sword he had every wielded, and then casually tried to slide it into the scabbard that had once belonged to Excalibur. The scabbard was not small enough to hold the blade properly, but none the less he needed something to carry it out with. He made his way over to Mirja, the blade jingling inside of the scabbard as it clanged against the sides of the scabbard as he joined her in what she was doing in looking for whatever she was looking for. He would continue to remain quiet, not knowing what to say to her, and not knowing if he was even ready to talk to her after what she had done to him only moments ago.

ENTER THE FLUFFY WOLF

Artist: N/A - Song: N/A - Word Count: N/A

Steiner was being salty, it seemed. She'd only hit him, and now he was walking around all scowly and giving her glares and such. There was a reason she taught the kid her Reality-Reversal technique for the sake of healing. But no, he seemed to want to pop everything back in manually and scream while he was doing it. Was the boring kind of scream as well, the kind of scream that she wasn't responsible for. Because she wasn't, no sir. Was all Steiner's fault for not using her cool things that she had gone out of her way to teach him.

"What's with all the screaming? I gave you my Territorial Tulpa so you could fix yourself up without having to scream. Are you a masochist? It's ok if you are, Ceal is one as well as she is incredibly cute. So it's no trouble, just tell me so that later I can make training to take in your masochistic desires" She told Steiner, putting on the pair of gauntlets, and then smiling softly to herself. The power these things would give her, was off the charts. Although why the Sage didn't use them, she didn't know....

Anyway, the Sage was dead, the zombies were dead, Steiner had a cool sword, and so it was time to gather up the rest of the treasure. Which included the throne. She picked that up, and beneath it was a small alcove with four book neatly packed away.
"Ohh, one second" she said, putting the throne down and opening one of the books, leaving through it a bit before her eyes widened. These were three Cultivation Techniques for each Dantian type, and one book with profound discriptions of a technique beyond Three Thunder Fist. Heavenly Crashing Thunder Fist [for Black Gold only]. The fact that she was so far away from it was sad, but she sat for a few more minutes, digesting the whole of the book while Steiner walked around gathering treasure, playing with his sword, and generally sulking. She was pretty sure she set the tone when she nearly killed him with the posion but apparently not....

After she had finished reading, she knew she was a long way of really understanding the technique she had just read, but every little helped. And so she picked up the throne, put it on her back, and grabbed the bag full of the rest of the treasure from the room.
"Onward!" she exclaimed, laughing madly as she walked out of the room, and eventually the tomb, hoping Steiner would follow and not try to stab her. Sad people could be really sad, after all.

When they got out, she dropped the absurdly gaudy throne into the snow, and the rest of the back as well, laughing heartily at the people who had gathered.
"The Tomb is clear! Cleaners can go pick it clean" she exclaimed, before looking to Steiner. Still unsure how he was, she just gave him a grin and then looked to her gauntlets. "These gauntlets are probably the best thing in the tomb. Their power is going to allow me to be Super Mirja. Much like your sword, to a slightly lesser degree. That's Gold, these are Black Gold" She told him, being a teacher before activating the enhancement powers in the gauntlets.

For a few seconds, the brightness of Mirja's Dantian increased dramatically, but then there was a cry of pain and she fumbled off the gauntlets, revealing severely burned arms where the guantlet had covered. She dove her hands into the snow as the stench of burning flesh filled the air, and then let out a vexated sigh, pulling out fresh, unmarred arms a few seconds later. "Well that was odd.....you should probably be careful with the sword, Steiner"

Some would mistake what Steiner was doing as sulking, some would say that he was overreacting to the sudden impact of the assault from Mirja only moments ago, but they would all be wrong. It was the fact that she had laughed it off like it was nothing that had made him upset, not that he minded being hit, after all most of his life had consisted of varying levels of abuse. Still when she had questioned his howling and his anger at the fact, he simply stared at her, and then curtly replied with absolute composure: "I used it all up fighting the zombies and stone soldiers. So sorry if I'm screaming a bit for having to put my own jaw back in place." There may have been just a tinge of anger in his voice, but Steiner was doing his best to not get so mad at the Wolf, she was after all not a truly bad person, and it wasn't in his nature to hold grudges. So, he swallowed that anger, and frustration much like a thick stew and moved on. After all this was his mentor and the person that he was spending the majority of his time learning from. So as she began to gather things up to leave the musty catacomb behind, Steiner found himself packing things into his pockets within his coat to better help her get more things, and to be honest he really didn't actually know how much or what he was suppose to grab.

Most of the things around Steiner were either ancient or of no material value, at least that is what it appeared to be to Steiner, but he decided to stuff as much as he could just in case there was something of value among the things he saw. After all, he was here to help as much as learn from Mirja, and though she was a little hazardous when it came toward training him, he respected her for not pulling his punches against him. After packing up a bunch of random junk, Steiner joined his teacher in leaving the room behind, following her with enthusiasm, but still in a deal of pain from the earlier fights that he had been in. Thankfully he would live, he just needed some time to recover from the chaos, and more importantly he needed a warm shower and a hot meal. Maybe they have those sort of things up above. I couldn't tell earlier because of all the people gathering around me earlier. Steiner thought to himself as they walked past the destruction that Steiner had caused earlier.

A plethora of corpses in random stages of decay, the stone remains of soldiers, and even a bit of his own blood were splayed around in random directions. It had been a hell of a fight, but he had managed, and in a way he had Mirja to thank for that as he had only grown stronger through her training methods. He reminded himself to buy a big bowl of ramen for her when they got back to Vastime, a simple gift in payment for her teaching he supposed, but also quite possibly because his mind at the time was drifting toward thoughts of food. "I need to get stronger so you don't have to risk your life like that again. You had me freaking out earlier.", Steiner spoke quietly as they neared the top of the stairs as he looked down at himself. He had gotten stronger, but he still wasn't where he needed to be to protect the people who he was close to, and to be honest that was the main reason he wanted to get stronger. Protecting the weak, the strong, and the in between, but most importantly protecting the people who were his friends and loved ones.

After reaching the top of the stairs, Mirja didn't waste any time announcing the tomb was clear, and then looked back to check on him. He gave her a weak smile, to be honest to show her that he was still chugging along, but also trying his best to look stronger than he actually was. "Say what about the gauntlets and the sword? They can make us stronger?", Steiner said as he heard her talking about the weapons with enthusiasm as she put her hands inside of her gauntlets. For a few moments, Steiner had to avert his eyes from the blazing light that seemed to be emanating from Mirja, but then that light began to dim as Mirja let out a cry of pain, and removed the gauntlets from her hands in a hurry. Underneath the gauntlets severely burnt hands revealed themselves and Mirja quickly shoved them into the snow, a bit of steam escaping the particular snow pile that she had chosen to cool down her hands in. He knew she would heal, but his face did show a great deal of concern. "Are you alright? Do you need me to give you more root?", Steiner asked in concern as he put his hand on her shoulder.

She removed her hands from the snow, unharmed, and Steiner found himself letting out a sigh of relief of his own, wiping a bit of sweat from his brow as well as he did so. He then overheard what he said and looked to the sword at his side, he didn't have Mirja's healing power, and with his tulpa spent he doubted he could risk just "activating" the sword like Mirja had only moments ago. "I think I will wait to use the sword...don't want to lose my hands, after all what is a swordsman without hands?", he said as he continued to look at the hilt of the sword with concern, wondering if he should just ditch the sword entirely out of concern of it being too self-destructive for his own tastes. Then again he had fought so hard in the catacombs that just forgoing the sword didn't make too much sense to him as both of them had almost died down there. No, he would use the sword, but he would be a bit more careful than the wolf had been. These sort of things deserved respect and there definitely needed to be a level of caution in handling these things.

"I could use a bath and a hot meal...does this place have any of that?", Steiner asked as he began to scan around the surrounding area looking for a place to probably nab some grub. "And a place to get some medical treatment, after all I used up my territorial tulpa down there, and I would like to get these wounds checked and bandaged before they get infected.", he said as he looked down at himself, taking inventory of the damage done to him in the catacombs below.

The Reborn Wolf

Ulv Auber

Mirja shook her hands and hissed softly. Sure, she had healed the damage, but there was still the memory of the pain, and sometimes memory was just as sharp as the real thing. What had happened? Her Dantian surged, power grew tremendously, and then her hands were burned. Tridermal-overload maybe? Black Gold was strong, and she was not. Maybe her body couldn't handle the power that had been progated from them and she got burned as a result.
"The sword itself, as a weapon, is a solid thing, but don't activate it's enhancement power until at least, Silver 3. To be on the safe side" She told Steiner, before stuffing the gauntlets into her bag, and nodding to Steiner, giving him a look before patting him very heartily on the back.

"Haha! There is a glorious goal for you Steiner! Hit Yu-Shan 1 and then you'll be able to go toe-to-toe with a guy like that! I'll toast to your good fortune when you hit that level, and then sit back and smile softly as you are covered in babes who want you for your body. At Yu-Shan, you'll be able to create gauntlets just as strong as the ones I just got from that tomb. But don't get consumed with the desire to get stronger. There are always going to be bigger fish" She told him, before flopping into the snow and making a snow angel. Why, exactly? Who knows~

"Food, and showers, and beds for the night are found about the place. It's kind of a fluster-cluck, so you'll have to ask Madam Tsu were exactly. And make sure you get paid from her, she'll give you a very pretty penny for that clearance. Or maybe she'll give you a kiss~" Mirja grinned, teasing the poor Steiner with the idea of the beautiful oriental woman giving Steiner a kiss. "Medicine is generally closer to the center of the camp. As for me, I'm off to do stuff and or things. Probably both. Have fun, don't get rekt, and I'll see you next time~"

Mirja gave Steiner a nose-boop, and then vanished into thin air
