Looking for Allies [Xavier/Arianda]
Sat May 27, 2017 11:08 am
Xaver was out to change the world, and in order to do this he needed to train not only his body, but also his mind; if there was something that he had learned after all these years it was that learning from those who were more experienced in a field allowed for a better understanding of the subject; while the person learning may pick up habits that the mentor had, it is something that could be fixed. In general, when learning from another it was important to understand that the person was adapting another's view of whatever it was they were learning; this ideology may be incorrect, but works for what it is that needs to be learned; it was important to know this when attempting to learn from another.
Skepticism. Skepticism is necessary in order to become an astute learner; it was not wise to simply accept what others said without any questioning. It was because of this quality of his that he was unable to align himself with another; it seemed that in this day and age everyone wanted to “change the world”, but who wanted to change it for the better? Countless people have gotten on stages, in front of crowds, etc. proclaiming this change; these were, if they had enough cunning, often accepted as glorious leaders. A man who knew how to speak, who could say the right thing at the right time, was a man who would gain power and popularity. The most prominent example of this would have to be Adolf Hitler; he was able to utilize the immense displeasure Germany had at the conclusion of World War One and create a regime that was second to none; going as far as to utilize his own incarceration to fuel his publicity. Another speaker, MLK Jr, was able to change an entire country through his words alone. The power of language was something which far surpassed that of power, if used correctly. This was something which Xavier knew full well and planned to utilize; this, however, did not mean that he had no use for power.
Strength was something that was necessary in order to ensure a peaceful transition to a new age; the transition into a better and brighter tomorrow. It was with this goal that he had decided to travel to Europe; he had heard of the strength which Europe held and thought it may be useful to make an appearance; it was better to acquire strength early in the game, before others began to suspect anything. Attempting to find allies when conflict is about to arise is something which put that person at a disadvantage, and usually did not end very well. This power house was extremely loyal to Shadow Fall, and as such it was better that he watched where he tread; he was not attempting to make any enemies, he simply wanted some friends! Friends who share his views and were willing to help him! It was with this rather cautious mindset that he had arrived in Europe. It was better to not travel to any of the larger cities and simply stick to suburbs. It was with this that he began to simply wander around the fields of Britain; the view was still magnificent, though he was unable to find anything of interest. It was after a few moments of venturing that Xavier would stumble upon a rather small town; perhaps this was the place her would find something of interest.

Arianda yawned surprisingly loudly as she paced through town, simply bored as all hell. Why bored? Well, this comes when she doesn't have much else to do and her beloved sister is out of town and the two of them aren't at their normal antics. Truth be told, she missed the living hell out of Taichou; felt like it had been too long. But, she was at least able to enjoy herself with taking her daughter Aki out; not terrible times. However, Arianda had been seriously bored; like, seriously. Poor girl was seriously bored enough that she nearly cut down some humans before holding herself back; it wouldn't do good to slaughter patrons/prisoners of Shadowfall.
Arianda yawned softly as she walked through the town, people freezing all around her as she walked. It wasn't her appearance, frankly, she was too damned cute for her own good. No, it was just from the energy that would normally pour from her being; a potent mix of Conflict and Chaos. Truth be told, if just one of these people were just slightly touched by Arianda using a focused prod of energy, she could accidentally blow them up; which would be horribly messy. She stretched and walked towards the nearest cafe; restricting her energy a little so people could at least serve her and she wouldn't have to go inside and just take some coffee or some food. Arianda yawned softly as she entered, drawing eyes now from both her appearance and energy; ya know typical mortals encountering a supernatural being that is likely able to kill them with just a single well placed tap to the temple. Or you can just rip out their heart, either one works in the end frankly; silly, silly times overall.
Arianda walked in and sat down in the cafe, waving her hand at a nearby waiter and orders a rather sugary drink; which was just coffee buried in multiple other ingredients that mask most of the coffee taste. Habits die hard, very, very hard. She then ordered some lemon bread; very tasty stuff that the demon girl simply adored. She waited for a little, her legs crossed and her arms doing just the same. Her arms crossed over her chest with immense ease as the movement of one's arms is not terribly hard. She yawned one last time and laid back in her chair; simply waiting for her drink and lemon bread to come out. So, she waited, the lemon bread arriving early and the coffee still taking a bit more time. At least Arianda was relaxed and wasn't on a time crunch; far better to relax than be on a crazy schedule. The demon just sat back, relaxed, and took in the feeling of relaxation.

When Xavier had chose to travel to Europe in order to find others who could be of some use he did not have any idea as to who he would be searching for; he simply knew that the people in which he would like to associate would, more than likely, be the people that stand out the most to him; this plan, however, seemed to backfire as he found himself simply wandering around empty fields for quite some time. Perhaps he should have made a concrete plan before searching for allies; this was going to become something which was going to take him more time than he anticipated.
With a slight sigh he thought that this was going to be an impossible mission; he was already prepared to head back and gather intel for his next visit until he had stumbled across a quaint little town; perhaps it was the allure of the endless possibilities of what this town could hold that peaked his interest; it was the possibility of running into who he was looking for which caused him to stay in Europe and enter the town.
With a smile the man entered the town; he did not have any excessive energy flowing out of him, he did not want to make a scene at the moment, and as such he was able to instantly pick up on the release of another energy source; something which screamed chaos and destruction; while these two things were not the best of fits they were something that interested him and would surely have a use; it was all about knowing when and where to deploy your resources after all. It was with this resolve, and simple interest, that Xavier would find himself being pulled into the heart of this small town.
It was with a smile that he found himself quite eagerly approaching a rather small cafe in the middle of town; it was as he arrived that it seemed the energy output seemed to diminish tremendously. It seemed that whoever this person was knew better than to keep it prominent at all times; there was no way they would be able to get service in a place like this! It was as he approached the door that he could feel a pain in the back of his head; it was not so much a physical pain as it was a mental one; he could feel his mind being pushed to a place it had not found itself for quite some time now. To continue forward, putting himself in danger of this relapse, or head back and admit defeat.
Defeat? Come on bud, isn't your mere existence a failure already? Why are you worrying about the possibility of defeat now? You are so used to it.
It seemed that he was already being pushed toward his roots and with that he smiled, hell why not embrace the chaos for a moment? See where it gets him. Perhaps he could find a useful ally. It was with this, this changed that happened in a moment, that Xavier put on a smirk and simply entered the Cafe. It was a rather quite place, nothing that was worth being pointed out; it was with this that he was able to instantly identify who was outputting this energy and simply smirked; it seemed that he was going to have some fun indeed.
Why not just kill them all then yourself? What's the point in attempting this narrow minded goal of yours? Do you believe it will free you of your sin? The sin of existence? C'mon bud, you should know better than that by now.
It was with this that the voice began to pick up on its volume; what was, only moments ago, a whisper in his ear was now a man speaking in his face; things were only going to get worse from here, and he already knew this. It was with this rather nostalgic feeling that he would approach the table in which the young lady found herself and simply sat down across from her.
Worse? Come on, your existence is already as bad as it gets. I mean, look at you! Who ever deemed this creation as worth of living should be killed. You are an abomination and you know it. Just end yourself.
"It seems you know how to create some room; I guess people know who not to approach around here." He chuckled, though he was already doubting his actions. How long would he be able to maintain his composure?
Should you really care about your composure? Come on, just look at you. You're a failure incarnate; a failed experiment. Why they let you live I'll never know.
"And what brings you here dear? Surely you're not here simply for the tea, not with the amount of energy you are exuding. Are you looking for some entertainment? Something which will be cathartic and interactive?" He chuckled, his smirk clearly visible. It was with this that he would flag down the waiter and order himself a coffee; he had to give the place that was hosting this meeting some business, that was only polite.
It was with this that he sensed something else, something which felt oddly familiar. Perhaps he had felt this before? In less than a moment he was able to pinpoint what this feeling was. "Ah, so you are blessed with some extra perks; isn't that fun?" He chuckled; it was as he chuckled that the waiter would quickly deliver what was ordered. Taking a sip he would look up. "Please, do take your time answering. I have all day."
Just like you, having nothing better to do; is it because you are quite literally equivalent to garbage? Isn't it sad that I am nothing more than your own thoughts making them self known? Either get a better view of yourself or just kill yourself; it seems you prefer the later!

Arianda continued slowly chewing on the lemon bread she ordered, eating the delicious lemon flavored wheat. She let out a soft yawn as Arianda soon sensed a foreign energy, that of some being she had either not sensed before or had not sensed it's kind in ages; but likely the former. She continued eating her bread as she kept a keen lookout on the energy she sensed earlier. It wasn't excessive, like how Arianda was being excessive with her release of energy, but, it was still troubling to sense an energy she did not recognize. Arianda looked at the trembling waiter that brought her coffee, she extended her hand and took the coffee, taking a quick draw from the straw as the waiter quickly withdrew from her; likely running to hide behind someone or something.
Arianda could truly care less about what these people thought or may do; even if she could convince some of the maids to serve her like maids. She just simply yawned and let the people tremor in fright; at least until one person, one man, simply strode inside of the cafe and plopped himself down in front of Arianda. This person, this man, was likely not just some simple fool or someone who was scared of Arianda's output of energy; nor the energy type. Arianda looked at the man who simply came to sit in front of her as she placed her legs on the table, crossing them as she looked at him.
Arianda's facial expression went from how it was before, eyes half closed, face calm, relaxed, etc., to a more annoyed look as her eyes focused on Xavier; her eyebrows curving downwards as she looked at this man who randomly approached her. Arianda just sighed, it was no use to try and scare this one away, so, she simply let her expression relax slightly; but she still kept her feet up on the table.
"Either large amounts of energy or the right energy do the trick; most mortals don't know what else to do besides get away from supernatural beings in such cases."
Arianda drank a bit of the coffee she got earlier as she looked at Xavier, one who seemed to be trying desperately for idle chat. Just this confused Arianda as she watched him attempt to question her and get some sort of facts out of her. In truth, it would likely work over all, but, Arianda did not care about what she told others unless they started going for her family; then she'd rip out their skeleton.
"No, I'm here for no other reason than to relax, drink some coffee, and eat some lemon bread. I'm simply looking for relaxation, and keeping people away from me is normally a good way to do so. Of course, that depends on the person, and, normally, those people are those who are close to me."
Arianda sighed softly as she took another drink from her coffee, enjoying the flavor of the drink despite the small coffee tinge that the drink gave off; as is a threat with any drink that is coffee based. But, it wasn't terrible after all. Arianda continued to eat her lemon bread until there was nothing left but the small bag that she was given with the lemon bread. She crunched the bag up and put it on the table in front of her. She then placed her drink down as she observed the same scared waiter deliver coffee to this man in front of her. Arianda crossed her arms once more and then raised an eyebrow at Xavier, one that was mixed with confusion and slight annoyance. But, it soon faded as Arianda didn't want to be too rude to someone who actually thought to approach her instead of run screaming.
"Extra perks you say? You could say that. The perks I am afraid I cannot share though, at least the best ones. But, tell me; who are you? For someone who's trying to be polite to a near extreme extent, I would think introducing yourself would be paramount among the things to do."
Arianda grinned and then let a cackle escape her lips, making some of the people around flinch at the cackle. In a sense, Arianda was likely well known for multiple reasons, but, most people normally get scared around a demon in general. She leaned back in her chair, her cackle reducing to a chuckle, and then a giggle, as she calmed down.
"Heh, I'm sorry, I had to. I'm Arianda Vael, Archduchess of the Second Circle of Shadowfall."

It seemed that this female, Arianda as it were, was rather confident in not only her abilities, but herself as a person; this characteristic was something that Xavier found necessary in allies; those who only saw themselves as being useful due to their abilities were the worst type of person a man could have; if they could not continually fall back on their ability, with great success, they were literally useless. Xavier wanted people who offered him something more than just a set of abilities; people with connections, friends, confidence. These were the sort of people he wanted. The situations in which Xavier predicted he would find himself were not ones in which an ability set may be the most optimal answer; there were times where he wanted his people to understand how to speak to others. This female, from what he could tell, may need some training in that subject; this, however, was fine. People tended to trust those with a cute face and this was something which would be plenty useful.
Useful? What would you know about that? You seem to believe that you, yourself, are useful to some extent. Why? We both know that in all the time that you've been alive you've gotten nothing done. You have a loud bark, but no bite. It seemed that the voice was content with continuing where it had left off all those years ago; it seemed to enjoy tormenting Xavier. If this were in the past Xavier would have been bothered by this voice, he would have reacted physically to its provocations. It had been quite some time since he was that weak, however. With a smile he looked the female over once, though it seemed that she was becoming rather annoyed; what a shame, perhaps he should move this conversation a bit more...
"My name is Xavier, it's a pleasure to meet you Arianda." It was with this that his eyebrow raised; perhaps she was raised in the woods. A place where there were no such things as manners, or if there were she was most certainly not well accustomed to them; for some reason she thought it was okay to place her feet on the table. Placing his hand on the table he would pressure it down until it was tilted to a forty-five degree angle, more or less. It was with this that her feet were, more likely than not, going to slide off. "No need for that, is there? I'm being polite and everything love!" He chuckled, placing his elbow on the table and placing his head in his palm.
Oh come on, why don't you just do something to get yourself killed already? Maybe give them a nice squeeze, you know you want to. It was with this that there would be a cackle in his mind. It seemed that this voice that filled his mind was somewhat different than in the past. Instead of simply demanding his suicide, and resignation from any form of life, this voice seems more interactive; at least he was going to have a more entertaining time listening to this bullshit.
"This is something that can be considered relaxing, I suppose. If you were simply looking to relax why not do it at your house? You seem affluent enough that you have quite a comfortable house. Am I wrong?" He chuckled, finishing off his drink; it was something that he was more than used to at this point. "And already telling me you're going to hold out? Come on, entice me a bit more. Show me something more than a pretty face love." He chuckled, though he knew he was getting side tracked. "Well, what can you do? Why not show me a bit of it, just a tease?" He chuckled; he was curious as to whether she would take the bait or not.
