The illusive dream that often haunts the sleep of all leaders is something. The dream of a tomorrow when they can lay down their burden. When they no longer need carry the mantle that so heavily weighs on their soul. The journey of a thousand miles often did begin in the first step for Ghislain. The distant thunder roared out in his ears. The sound of silence was all that echoed for miles without end. The eternal dream was all that he had right now, his slumber continuing. Yhwach's last act was to put him into a stasis to maybe teach him a lesson. His cerulean eyes began to slowly move as his mind came more open. Bits of stone fell from his body as he'd undergone some form of petrification that hardened his body completely. It was a harsh reality that awaited the former Emperor as he slowly shook the cobwebs in more ways than one. Slowly his digits moved making an unearthly cracking noise. From what he could gather he wasn't entirely sure where he was. His memories were fuzzy as he was last but it slipped away.
Slowly he moved his frame almost falling over as he tried to grasp for something. Holding on to the hand of a Reaper statue he chuckled at the pathetic state of things. How could he of not known that Hulderic and Yhwach would do this? They were nothing but traitorous snakes to the core. Leaning against the statue of the ominous being with its scythe. He slowly shut his cerulean eyes to begin feeling the blood of the Quincy. He could call out to them if he desired as he looked inside them. It seemed as though they had become stable and moved on. Perhaps, this was the best outcome as he glanced at his hand. The Emperor of the Quincy was a title he was the last one. With this turning him to stone and leaving him in Germany. What did they hope to accomplish by doing this from within his core? They were silent figures in his mind right now not speaking or appearing even in their usual visage. His short term memories were damaged as he remembered the creation of Hulderic. But something must have gone wrong or did that fool really believe he could get away with it?
His digits slowly touched his Regalia sighing softly as it was a comfort to him. Some slim comfort was better than nothing at all he supposed. Ghislain pushed his form weakly as he looked over the region. Scanning the horizon he took in the graveyard before his eyes made the inevitable transition upwards. This entire place was underground, it seemed he was buried alive by the looks of things. " Someone certainly had the last laugh." He mumbled to himself as he glanced around for an opening but sadly seeing none. Was this a burial ground of Quincy? A place they were laid to rest in the ancient time. It was hard to say what the circumstances were of this place. Finding an opening would be difficult and destroying it felt criminal. However, it seemed the choices were slim as he sighed looking down a bit regaining his balance. Slowly his right arm went up as he looked down apologetically.
"I'm so sorry that I must do this..forgive me for what I must do my brothers and sisters." Slowly his hand went upwards as a signal would go throughout the area. The Quincy themselves may have even noticed the surge as the Dark King's power flooded outwards. His hand growing dark with Dark Matter as a blast shot through the underground to the surface. Shooting into the sky as it parted the clouds and went into the heavens. Jumping upwards he began his ascent from the burial grounds outwards. The City of Bones rest below him, this place was hidden within the Ancient grounds in Germany. As he landed he fell backwards a bit as his legs felt weak still. This had been such a long rest he wondered how long had passed. His body felt strange as he tried to grasp what was going on. His eyes glanced around the area as he smelled the familiar air in Germany. He always could tell when he was in the homeland it was a comfortable reminder of things.
However, this time around something felt wrong and every time he tried to think. Pain gripped his conscious as though the memories wouldn't come. Nothing he did summon them forth for him. But now he didn't have a home to go to for the moment. No organization he needed to lead or battle for now. It seemed for the first time in a long time no direction was available for him. Softly he touched his necklace thinking of his wife now. She would take any direction boldly and decide on that alone. But something else bothered him, the question of how he got here. Had those two always been able to seal him up like that? The slumber had made his body stiff as he struggled to move his toes for a few moments. The important questions were able to be answered. He was Ghislain Eberhart, the Dark King of the Quincy. The man who inherited the curse of the Emperors. He had been working tirelessly for them even going to summon former Emperors. He'd helped bring Regalia to the forefront again.
The dream had been shattered and reality had emerged. It was time for him to get answers regardless. His frame slowly stood up as he pushed his long blonde hair to the side. His hair had grown long during his time as stone.
